We stopped at Cheeky Bastards one night before Revival, and to my surprise, it was a hit. I was extremely happy that it wasn't busy because we got to sit in the cutest tea room environment and even ask a bunch of questions. The servers and co-owner were such a joy and as friendly as possible. We had a great time, and I will be back for repeat business when I'm in the area. I am also considering one of their afternoon teas--I'm sure it will be fun. I ordered the fish sandwich and was pleased. I had to cut it in half to eat it, and it was the perfect size. The fish was flaky, and the tartar sauce was amazing. I added a little bit of vinegar, and that sandwich was on and poppin'--it was a little food party in my mouth! The French fries were good as well. Overall, 10/10, and I will be back. Thank you to everyone who works here for showing us a great time. Check it out, because I will be back.

Found Cheeky Bastards for late lunch on a Saturday. With a name like Cheeky Bastards and description of British Pub/Tea House we had to stop by. The owner came out and spoke with us. An American who had lived in United Kingdom so he knew and appreciated food influences. The fish and chips recipe took him 4 months to get the recipe from a celebrated 150 yr old fish shop. We believe him. Best fish we'd ever eaten. Malt vinegar is a must. The Notty Ham sandwich was an excellent riff on a club sandwich with an addition of caramelized onion and jam. The Scottish ale was fresh and creamy. Husband really appreciated the ale. We took scones and clotted cream home and enjoyed them the next day. The restaurant offers crumpets, English teas and condiments. There is a lovely little bar area slightly segregated from dining which looked inviting. Cheeky Bastards is located in a small strip area in the Geist area of Hamilton County. Parking is available in front and the restaurant is easily accessible. Servers and owners were friendly and offered recommendations. I can't wait to try High Tea in the future!

My mom brought me here after I graduated with my Master's in Information Technology. The food was so good. The drinks were also delicious. Loved this place. The atmosphere was beautiful. The art was amazing to look at. Loved my server. She was very knowledgeable and understanding. We loved everything about this restaurant, especially the art!

We had such a wonderful experience. From the greeting at the door to our wonderful table service it was all great. The choice in tea makes it hard to pick just one. We were very impressed with the choices of sandwiches and pastry. A few months ago we had a Tea Service in Chicago that wasn't half as good as this. The cucumber dill and the egg salad I think were my two favorite sandwiches. The strawberry cookie and the carmel brownie were my two favorite pastries. I got a lemon verbena tea that was really good. We may be back for a special occasion. This visit was just because it was something new to do. Totally recommend if you like tea and a bit of culture. Afternoon tea was started in the UK in 1840 by Anna the seventh Duchess of Bedford. The Queen would get peckish between lunch and dinner. It wasn't till the mid 1880s where it became a wide spread affair. In the home finger sandwiches are typically cut into triangles. In hotel settings they are cut into rectangles. Never stir your tea, move the spoon front to back to incorporate milk or sugar.

Quaint English restaurant with amazing decor and friendly service. I had the fish sandwich and fries. After the first bite I thought the fish lacked flavor but after a squeeze of lemon and some sprays of vinegar it was good. The fries were delicious. I will definitely be back to indulge in the atmosphere while partaking in a tea experience.

If You Think You Know Fish & Chips... Think Again. We stepped inside and instantly felt like we had crossed the Atlantic into a modern English pub, it had it all, warm lighting, dark wood, a hint of character in every corner. We slid into our seats, ordered drinks, and opened the menu. One glance was all it took, and we laughed because we both knew exactly what we came for: fish and chips. When the plates arrived, we just looked at each other in shock. Wow. Massive portions, beautifully plated. This wasn't bar food. This was art. The batter was perfection: crisp and golden, but not that thick, greasy armor other places hide fish in. You could actually taste the fish was fresh, flaky, and tender. And the chips? Hand-cut, perfectly seasoned, with just the right bite. It didn't take long before we were fully silent, the universal sign of a great meal, and then suddenly... there was nothing left on the plate but crumbs and happiness. We had the chance to chat with one of the owners and meet the chef. They told stories of British expats traveling across town because they heard this place had the real deal, that authentic comfort done right. After one bite, we knew exactly why people keep coming back. This isn't just a meal. It's an experience you keep thinking about days later... and craving weeks after. For years, my gold standard for fish and chips was Kona Jack's. But now? I've found a rival, different, but every bit as incredible. I'm already planning my next trip, and I know my friend won't hesitate to join me. If you're anywhere near Geist on Indy's east side or even if you're not, do yourself a favor: go to Cheeky Bastards. Bring your appetite. Bring a friend. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your return.

Had a wonderful first experience at Cheeky Bastards! My friend had a reservation, and we arrived early. We were seated at a table, and the waitress showed me the Audrey Hepburn space. I was totally in awe. The hostess then offered to move us into that space, and of course we said yes! Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly, and we even got to chat with Hope, the co-owner, who was amazing. I originally ordered the Lavender Lemon Drop, but it wasn't quite for me, so I switched to the Strawberry Cocktail. It was delicious! I also tried the Banger Burger, which came out fresh and hot. Overall, such a great experience, and I can't wait to come back for their tea time!

Well out of town, my friend and I had to visit this cute pub based on name alone! We got inside it was extremely British and all of the things we could've possibly wanted! We got brunch and I loved all of the fun touches to the menu. The tea list was extensive. The menu was fabulous. I wish we lived closer. I would go more often.

This was such a great experience. The food was amazing! Don't get me started on the sticky toffee pudding! Yum! The service was awesome, super friendly and helpful staff. The ambiance was wonderful, and such an inviting place to spend a morning for brunch. Will definitely be back!

This was my first time at a British-themed restaurant. We were met at the door by part-owner Hope. She was very friendly, warm, and welcoming! She treated us like family from the start. She told us a bit about the business and her business partner, Robert. Once seated, she went over items we should try. She visited with us for about ten minutes, explaining menu items and sharing stories about her and the business. It was refreshing to feel like family with a stranger! To start, we ordered the Scottish Eggs, which were delicious. For entrees, we had the fish and chips and Guinness Steak pie! Neither disappointed, and they were fresh, hot, and flavorful. During our meal, the other business owner and Chef Robert visited with us. He told us a bit about himself and told us he only fries in Beef Tallow. For those that don't know, this is phenomenal and very healthy! This is what McDonald's used to fry in the 70's. Everything was delicious, and the dining experience was one of the best we had in Indy! Please support this gem of an establishment! I'm not aware of any other authentic English restaurants in Indy. Thank you, Robert, Hope, and our server, Amanda, for a great experience!

Also not picture and not on the menu was a Pistachio Latte. Service was awesome, food was excellent. The Curry was was somewhat sweet with a slight spicy after kick, the chips were excellent with or without the curry dip. My wife had the Fish and Chips that is not pictured. The fish was excellent and come hungry because it's a big piece of Cod! I will definitely be back!

The fish itself was very fresh, with just the right amount of breading. Service: This is a counter-service type of restaurant, so service was fine for that type of setting. Orders are brought out to your table after ordering, on an aluminum tray. Ambiance: It's nicely decorated and everything is still brand new, but there were two things that could easily be improved: a) Considering the relatively high prices of everything, I would expect real fountain soft drinks with free refills, but instead, you get a can of soda and a glass of ice. ?!?!?!? The canned soda with no refills is inconsistent with the otherwise higher-end nature of this restaurant. Canned Coke is what I expect when I ask for a beverage at a food truck or when I'm at a carnival, not after I just dropped upwards of $30 for fish & chips and cole slaw. b) We arrived right at noon, with only one other customer there, and yet we were told that all soups were already "sold out". Not believable. It sounds more like someone forgot to order more soup ingredients, and/or they just didn't have anything heated-up.

The lemon curd that came with the scone was delicious. I was sad when the scone was gone and I still had a lot of curd leftover. For dinner, I ordered a small order of the fish and chips. In true British fashion it was served with milk and sugar. The hot tea was very soothing and was a perfect addition to the meal. Overall, was very pleased with everything that I had. And am excited to come back for an afternoon tea experience.

There have been multiple times over the course of the last several months that we've had ordering issues with both for carry out, as well as a horrible experience at the craft house. Most recently, we've tried ordering carry out from the pub house and have not been successful any time. We understand the kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant closes and have ordered well before this time frame. It seems like the online ordering may shut down 3 hours before the kitchen closes, which is what we experienced tonight. The cherry on top was calling in to place our carry out order at 915pm (kitchen closes at 11pm tonight) - someone answered (and we were like "yay!") but then were put on hold, waited for 15 min and tried to call back for the next hour and 15 min and no one answered no matter what option we selected. So what I've been able to deduce from these multiple experiences is Murphy's doesn't like carry out traffic and isn't willing to take money from local fans. It's one thing if your website says "ordering stops at 7pm" - we'd order prior to 7pm. But when it says "kitchen closes 1 hour before closing" and nothing else about carry out, no warning while preparing our order that we wouldn't be able to place the order (like other local establishments provide) or employees who could answer the phone and easily say what the actual rules are - like "I know it says online the kitchen closes 1 hour before closing but we actually stop taking carryout orders 3 hours before the kitchen closes" - then we'd be informed and be able to operate in a manner where we understand what the boundaries are. I've had business dealings with this business and it's not surprising they are as or more disorganized on the customer side as they are on the actual business side. I reached out to the owner tonight and received no response. I hope this review helps take business away from Murphy's pub house. Since we aren't allowed to give them our business, maybe no one should.
