I was staying at the Hyatt across the street from this spot last week and decided to give it a try after discovering it on Yelp. I ordered the fish and chips and a salad and it came out to be around $25. After about a 20 minute wait I walked over to pick it up. It wasn't quite ready when I arrived so I took a seat and soaked up the space. The restaurant itself was nice with a very obvious nautical theme. They had booth seating and tables as well as a small patio out front. The staff wasn't the most welcoming but I was just in and out so it was fine. Once I got back to my room I dug right in, as I was starving after a 3 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio. The first thing I noticed was that I forgot to ask for ketchup for my fries when I asked for utensils. And I'm so glad I remembered to ask for utensils, otherwise that would have gotten messy really quick. It would be really nice if the staff asked about those things for takeout orders. The next thing I noticed was that my fried fish was already soggy. Given that it wasn't ready when I arrived and only five-ish minutes passed between them handing it to me and when I started eating, I was surprised. That said, the parts that were crispy were nice and their tartar sauce was super good. The fries also had a nice seasoning on them. While I have tried a prior Slapfish location, this is my first time to this particular location. This is also my first time ordering online ahead of time and then coming to the location to pick up. Great thing was that we came during an off time so parking was easy to find here because this entire area parking is super limited and such a pain to find. I am not sure who's doing this urban planning for this entire location of Fisher's District however there are too many venues too many restaurants and two few parking spots. With that being said, the good news is that the food was already ready and waiting for me and I quickly took it from the bag which was already closed and sealed when in the car went straight home. This is where things went downhill. This was a to go order and I do not recall on the app for Ordering if they asked if I wanted utensils or napkins, etc. However, I did order a soup and there was no soup spoon. Further, there were no napkins in the bag. I would assume it to go order should have these types of accoutrements included with them. We were here on a Thursday evening at around 6pm, it wasn't busy yet and we were able to get a seat right away. There is limited parking right outside and you may need to drive around to find one. Our server was nice and came often to check on us and making sure we had enough water. We got the Lobster Tots as an appetizer and it was ok, I really anticipated it to have more lobster and have more flavor. My entree was the shrimp roll (I got the grilled) and fries, again, it was ok, I think I may of liked it more if I got the fried shrimp instead but the Jersey sauce that comes with it was really good and the bread was buttery and crispy. There are some people I know who don't eat any seafood here because we are Land locked, and while I wish I could be that careful, I love seafood too much to wait until I can get to FL, so on national oyster day I wanted oysters that I did not have to shuck myself and Slapfish was close, I'm glad I decided to visit. Popped into slapfish for a quick lunch in between errands and I tried the street tacos for the first time! Two fried fish tacos topped with sauce, cabbage, pickled onions and cilantro is the perfect portion size. I also got a cup of lobster bisque on the side. 2 trips to Slapfish in two days! How lucky am I? The bottom line is that while the delicious food and menu are the same, the vibe is very different. Today, I'm in the Fishers District location. Yesterday I met a friend at Carmel Market District location. It was lunchtime and they attract shoppers looking for a snack. Their other customers are connected with IU Hospital Carmel. It's table service after you order at the counter with a self-service beverage. Fishers District is more of an open-air restaurant concept. The front window opens. There are patio tables, so you can see and be seen. (Very Fishers District--outdoor seating is "de rigueur" at Fishers District eateries.) The homemade chips are crunchy like a kettle chip and dusted with old bay seasoning. Portion was large enough for 2-3 people Clobster grilled cheese- filled with lots of lobster and crab very cheesy and toasted perfectly. Fries are fresh natural cut and dusted with old bay. I would have preferred them to have been cooked a little longer however that is just a personal preference. Surf and turf burger- burger lacked salt but that yet again could be a personal preference other than that it was really good. Lots of lobster meat on top. The tomatoes were fresh. I went there twice in one week since I am staying at the Hyatt. The first time I really enjoyed the petite lobster roll and lobster dip & chips. The fish taco was okay, had too much going on in it or maybe I was just already full with the roll. Service was good until they gave me the check. Visited Slapfish with my dad, and it ended up being one of his favorite meals of the trip. We shared the lobster deviled eggs as an appetizer, and they were a definite hit! 7.17 & 7.19.25 -- had lunch with a work associate/friend on Thursday, and went back with my mom & the hubs on Saturday! For the first lunch, I had the grilled fish sandwich with the side salad (choiceof fries, slaw or salad), and my friend had the Hawaiian bowl -- grilled shrimp over a salad with nice chunks of pineapple. I love Slapfish and am never disappointed when I go here, especially this location! Love that the seafood always tastes fresh and delicious, and the food is always prepared very well. The restaurant is kind of small, so I recommend getting a reservation during the weekends, however, I was able to walk in around 5:30pm on a Saturday and get seated right away. I love the nautical decorations, and that the restaurant is clean. All the parking around is free, but there's limited parking right outside the restaurant. There's a super close free parking garage, but the parking spots are super tight and only the first floor is open to the public. We came here for Mother's Day 2026, and each of us ordered the clam chowder, which all three of us agreed it was excellent (not pictured). Great flavor, texture, and consistency with plenty of clams, topped with bacon and chives. Mom got the fish taco, Dad got the shrimp scampi, and I got the grilled fishbowl with blackened Seabass. Been to some of the locations and always liked what I got, this time was no different. My wife had a salad topped with lobster, she said it was fantastic! I went with my traditional lobster grinder. Discovered this specific Fishers location during Lent and it is easily the best. The other Slapfish locations were good when I was craving really good seafood; and were huge for us as a Catholic Family during the season of Lent because they have choices everyone in the family loves. The Fishers (IKEA area) location is a standout for their amazing staff though... I've brought so many friends who had never eaten there before and it didn't matter who the employee was behind the register, they were always super cool and helpful. Plus, this location's ambiance is just really great. Even though it's small, it's decorated very airy... and the open front window/wall just lets in so much fresh air and light. It's like you're getting to eat outside without the hassle of eating outside. :) It's supposed to be mid-level prices but definitely on the higher end. You don't get an awful lot for what you pay. But I'll be dang if what you get isn't some of the best you'll have ever had. :) I would eat two Lobster Rolls daily if I could, but I'd be poor and fat. Lol. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews honestly- the staff was very friendly, but the quality of the food is below average. This was our second trip here, we didn't love it the first time but a year later and it having such high reviews we decided to give it a second chance. We went on a Friday night, it was DEAD inside. We were one of three occupied tables when we arrived, we stayed less than an hour and we were the last ones there. Lobster dip: very rich, decent seafood flavor but it overall just a rich dip with a few pieces of lobster on top. Chips were seasoned well. Grouper sandwich: small piece of greasy fish, did not appear grilled to me, maybe pan fried? Either way it was not good. Lobster roll: this came highly recommended. To me, just a butter soaked toasted bread with maybe a couple ounces of lobster in a lot of sauce. Made my stomach hurt after one bite, and that was after pushing all the lobster to the end to get more of a lobster filled bite with less of the buttery bread. Cole slaw was the best part, but didn't finish it because my stomach hurt from the dip and roll. Sorry to be a buzzkill but this place doesn't live up to the ratings in MY opinion. Slapfish in Noblesville was one of the first Yelp Elite events I attended and it's cool seeing they now have a location in Fishers (as well as Indianapolis). The interior of Fishers location looks a little more sophisticated than the Noblesville location but still has a chill vibe. I had only been to this location for lunch and have never had an issue finding a table but when we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was packed! They had a 40 minute wait for a group of 3 but luckily they have some outdoor seating so we were able to grab a seat right away. It's table service but you do order at the counter. We went to SlapFish for my moms birthday! We had a really nice time and what stood out the most was their service! They were so kind and accommodating! I brought cake that they kept in the fridge until we were ready for it! They continued to check in with us and always had a smile! Honestly the service was the best part of our visit! Food wise! We enjoyed several items. Specifically the Mac n cheese, the fried oysters, lobster roll and the fettuccine! Those were all 10/10! Everything else was good but I'd rate them at more of a 8/10. I got the green light to drink up the broth from both my husband and the server but i did contain myself in the end. (Maybe next time ). Clean dining area with outdoor seating available. So I went to slap fish today, September 13, 2025 got fish and chips for my husband, and of course, my favorite lobster deconstructed because I have to travel with it, and I didn't want the bread all soggy 12:15 lunchtime and to my dismay I get home open up the lobster and it was nothing but a bunch of crumbly pieces of lobster. I was beyond annoyed. I don't recommend getting it to go cause you don't know what they've packed up. I didn't think I needed to open it while I was there I would've sent the lobster back and requested some better looking lobster pieces. So for $26 it'll be another year or more before I have one and I'll eat in! I tell you nothing is like it used to be when they first opened up they were the bomb! and now not so much. Years ago, I tried the Noblesville Slapfish, and gave it only three stars due to middling food and slow service. Amazingly, the owner contacted me, apologized, and sent us a gift card to try it again sometime. So, finally, we went back. Admittedly, this is a different location than before. Regardless, it was infinitely better. The lobster roll was absolutely delicious, with huge chunks of meat. The fries were hot and well seasoned. The workers were nice, service was fast, and the location was clean. Basically, they knocked it out of the park. Going forward, I will def recommend Slapfish. Seems very well run. read more
