The fry on the fish was executed perfectly. I substituted extra fries in place of the slaw. The fries were very good, and again fried to perfection. We also had a starter of the chips and lobster dip. Chips were fresh and appeared to be made in house. Lobster dip had good flavor. Food was ready very quickly. Stopped in this afternoon for lunch with a bud. Great setting in the fish was very fresh and a very clean atmosphere. SlapFish is one of those places that you want to keep secret because it's THAT good. I've debated writing a review because I love this place so much. Every single time I've been here the food is outstanding. The wait time for exceptional food is not bad at all. You can order ahead and every time I've done that, the food is ready and waiting for me. The lemon & herb butter rice with the salmon is delicious! The fish is always fresh and I love that the Power Bowl comes with a hearty salad. Whoever decided to add guacamole with pumpkin seeds to the salad is a genius! They have a patio and are dog friendly. It can be really busy on weekends so definitely order ahead. There is also a bakery and deli next door. I would choose SlapFish over Sweetgreen any day. I just love Slapfish's fresh seafood! We were able to hit the restaurant for a late lunch and, amazingly, no crowd. There was plenty of parking and tables. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered and paid at the counter and then found a seat. The food comes out fairly quickly. I ordered a bowl of my favorite clam chowder. The clams are big and plentiful. This is the clamiest clam chowder in town. I was disappointed that they excluded my bacon, though! My husband had the Lobster Avocado roast, which was full of perfectly ripe avocado and loads of fresh lobster. The toast was delicious. The servers checked on us a couple times. My cousin suggested I try this place. I was excited to try it for the first time on 6/27/21. This establishment is located in a rural area. Slapfish is a modern seafood restaurant. It is self serve. On this day, I was craving for lobster roll so I ordered one at the counter. Service with taking the orders is typical. The worker who took my order was pleasant. Cost at the time was $24. I selected the Cole slaw as my side with a fountain drink. Drinks are refillable. The lobster comes from Maine. My lobster roll was truly delicious and flavorful. The lobster was fresh! Loved my slaw as well. Since then, I've been back two other times. Brought my daughter here to try as well. She loved it too!! When back in the area, I will definitely be eating here again. Always delicious! I usually get the Power Bowl but I just noticed the available fish. I opted for the Fish'N Chips- Grilled. I chose the Sea Bass but could have gotten Grouper, Mahi Mahi or Salmon. I subbed the clam chowder for the fries for a small up charge. Sooo well seasoned (I gave no input). Coleslaw was so fresh and lightly dressed. Delish! Lunch was really good here today! We told our kids we missed our opportunity for a lobster roll on a recent trip out East and they said 'we have better lobster rolls here in Indy'. Right. We were greeted by a friendly staff. The restaurant was attached to a little market and the restaurant itself was very clean. I order a beer, I think it was blood orange Quaff. It was good! We also order Fish and Chips and Blacked Grouper sandwich. Unfortunately the fish and chips were heavily battered and greasy. And the blackened grouper was more bun and toppings than fish. The actual fish was good, just very little. For the prices, I wouldn't go back. However, the person next to us was eating the power bowl and it looked good. My order was a takeout order, which was really easy to order through the Yelp app. My only frustration with the experience is the timing delay inserted by Grubhub. I ordered 15 minutes ahead of when I expected to be there, but the promised timing through the app made it look like it would take 30+ minutes to be ready--even at a time when I knew the restaurant is pretty empty. Order at the counter and then they'll give you a number and bring the food to your table. They do offer fountain drinks, beer, coder and kombucha. We tried the shrimp platter, traditional lobster roll and the lobster grinder. I wasn't that impressed with the shrimp platter it reminds me of buying it at the store but it was still delicious! We liked the shrimp sauce. We really liked the lobster roll which consisted of the bread and lobster chunks it was very filling. It was served with a side of fries and pickle. To go a more cost effective route the lobster grinder is just as delicious just has a different texture I think I actually prefer it over the lobster roll. This location is amazing. It is large, there's plenty of seating, it is clean, and has been watered architecture. That's a very chill vibe. The staff was wonderful and friendly, and they came out to check on us to see how our meal was. They were very warm and welcoming to everyone. The food, can't say enough about the food. It was delicious and it was fresh, the lobster roll was juicy, and they do not cheat you on the lobster. My other half had the grilled Mahi Mahi bowl and a Power bowl. Glad we tried Slapfish and would recommend it if you like fish. Just ate there for the 2nd time. Both times when traveling through the area. I enjoyed it so much the first time, that had my family stop there and eat on our way home from Michigan to TN. I have been wanting my husband to try this place for awhile now. We ordered the lobster tots and a Quaff on (blood orange) beer. Lobster tots were tasty, watch out the dipping sauce it us spicy. The clobster Mac and cheese is better then the lobster grinder. The lobster grinder is messy, cold, and hard to eat. The cole slaw is not that tasty. First visit to Slapfish after hearing so many good reviews and it was totally worth the hype! My husband doesn't do seafood so he ordered the grilled cheese sandwich, fries and coleslaw. Definitely one of the best coleslaws we had, with the right flavor. I loved my power bowl with tilapia, shrimp, brown rice and veggies. Now just the mix would have been a regular bowl but the dressing and spices on both the tilapia and shrimp made it absolutely taste worthy and I enjoyed my lunch. In my opinion, it is very hard to find a parking spot at the height of the lunch hour. The first time I tried to come here people were parked in the grass so I never turned into the lot thinking the front lot was all there was. Today I timed my arrival for 11 am when they first opened. Some people were already parked waiting for them to open. Now I can see a side parking lot and even some spaces in the rear of the building but there are at least a dozen employee vehicles using those rear spaces. Plus there two restaurants in the building. I ordered a cup of New England Clam Chowder. It was excellent! Lots of crumbly bacon bits were on top and the chowder was delicious with lots of clams. Oyster crackers were provided too. I also ordered the Ultimate Fish Taco with the fried fish. The fish portion was huge! It was very tasty and the shredded cabbage was superb. The menu is the same as the Mass Ave. location. The dining room setup is different obviously and there is no full bar. The inside dining area consists of six tables that seat four people, three tables seating two people and two tables seating six or more. There is outdoor seating but no heaters for cold weather. This restaurant shares the indoor space with Broccoli Bill's and Bill's has a lot of outdoor tables and seating. read more
