I was so happy that I finally had the chance to have brunch at Cheeky Bastards. Our foodie group stopped by one Saturday for brunch and we were definitely it for a treat. At first, we were waiting for a while to be served due to the restaurant being short staffed. There are only two servers on the floor, one of them was the manager, so we understood and were very patient. The restaurant was packed due to being a small space, so I would highly recommend making reservations for brunch because if you walk-in, you will most likely not get a table. After about 20-25 minutes, the manager, Justin, was able to stop by our table in their private room to take our beverage order. Cheeky Bastards is an English breakfast place serving the traditional British breakfast that you would receive in England such as tea and crumpets, scones, bangers and mash, etc. They have a page in the menu strictly for tea and it is a wonderful variety of teas to choose from the menu. I ordered the green ginger tumeric tea and it was amazing! My friends ordered the English breakfast tea and they loved it. Someone ordered the fruity garden tea and enjoyed it very much! When it came time to order our food, I ordered the British scone to start with and the bacon, avocado, and egg British bagel with a side of thick cut chips, which are French fries. It was the most incredible English breakfast I have had iin my life. The British scone was wonderful with the strawberry preserves and British clot cream. I would have liked the British scone to have been warmed up a bit, but it was fine the way it was and still tasted delicious. The British clot cream was the best part of the British scone. You must order the British scone just for the British clot cream on the side. The bacon, avocado, and egg British bagel was absolutely breathtaking and flavorful! It was definitely a meal in itself. The runny egg made a huge difference in the flavor of the bagel. The thick cut crisps were salty, but tasted delicious. Everything paired very well with my green ginger tumeric tea. For my brunch meal, it was a memorable experience! Everybody in our foodie group loved their meal and did not have anything negative to say about the food. At one point, the executive chef did come out to bring us our food and help out Justin with service because he was busy with other tables since it was packed and they were short staffed. He was very entertaining and had a great personality joking around with us. He took time to talk about the restaurant and what future plans they had with the restaurant. It made me feel good that the staff work together as a team when they run into a crisis and are short staffed, because that shows teamwork and dedication to making the customer feel good and have great customer service. The ambiance of Cheeky Bastards is very neat and cool to observe as well. They have artwork of English celebrities and movies nostalgia such as Mick Jagger and Monty Python quotes on the walls. The front counter by the entrance is nice and neat with the coffee bar area and pastries display case. I would definitely say Cheeky Bastards has made my top ten list of places to eat for brunch on the weekends. You will definitely have to make reservations for brunch, because you will not get a table if you just walk in off the street. The place does get packed very early in the morning. Everybody in Indy needs to come check out Cheeky Bastards at least once in their lifetime to experience the English breakfast. They do serve afternoon high tea as well, so if you are into high tea, you can definitely make a reservation at Cheeky Bastards for more information. This was truly an incredible dining experience, and I will never forget it. I will be back to Cheeky Bastards for breakfast or lunch. Simply fabulous! read more
