6-28-26 Some couple-friends of ours decided to start a dinner club, and this was our choice for our first gathering. I was looking forward to it, as this has been on my list of places to go, and we haven't been here before. There were supposed to be 10 of us be we ended up being 8 this night. We had reservations, and had the lovely little private room in the back. (The whole restaurant seems just to seat about 20 or so.) Decor is fun & a nod to all things Britsh. We had 7 scotch eggs for the table. They were served cut in half with a mustard hollandaise, and we re scrumptious. Around the table, we had a variety of beers nda cocktails. I asked the server to pair me a white to go with my fish & chips, and asked for anything except Moscato. They sent a sauvignon blanc that was perfect. My friend next to be had a bloody Mary that was definitely Instagram worthy (see pics). The menu is fairly extensive, but most of us ordered either the fish & chops or the steak & Guinness pie (like a shepherd's pie). For pricing, the scotch eggs are $14.95 ea.; the fish & chips was $29, and the steak & Guinness pie was $30, so I would classify this as "upscale pub." Everything was tasty and a #yum #ReviewsByRL

Went for brunch and we were big fans! The service was excellent, the space is small but charming, and the food was excellent. I wish there were fountain drinks because the canned sodas were $3.25 and flat, but everything else was great. We will definitely return. Excited to try some dinner options.

Didn't realize we needed reservations but got a table in about 20min. I think they need more servers, because it took a while for them to come and take our order. We had to flag them down. Food was good and plenty and it was great traveling tour of Great Britain. I will try and order the fish and chips next time. will return soon.

Scones are amazing as is the clotted cream and jam. Service is also very friendly and the restaurant is cozy and welcoming.

Once you enter, you will smell the most delicious food from the kitchen. Made me hungry just walking in. Chic and elegant decor all around the corners. Amanda the staff member was so kind and friendly. She helped us with the menu and questions. All the food we got was delicious and packed with flavors. The burger meat was juicy and tender. Fried potatoes were seasoned well. Love their tea. The aroma is so relaxing. They sold the tea leaves and other products too. Parking in the front. Very convenient. A good place for afternoon tea and dinner.

Glad I made reservation for 6:45pm dinner on Valentine Day because this place was packed. When we arrived we were taken to our table right away. The restaurant had such amazing British vibes with tea sets decoration in the walls and corners, a lot of British posters and arts, was amazing vibes. The menu had few of British style bites and sandwiches, but there was an extensive list of teas and coffees. We started with the delicious beef Wellington bites. Crispy outer layer and soft meat inside. For entree we got Banger burger and Birmingham cheesesteak. Both were sooo good. The bread was toasted but soft. The steak was so juicy mixed with caramelized onions and cheese. It would give the Philly cheesesteak a good competition. At the we had the vanilla ice cream that was also creamy and super tasty. Loved the lavender lemonade as well. Our server Amanda was incredible. Her provided an amazing friendly service. All other staff members were very nice too, taking empty plates out of our tables whenever they were walking by. The dishes came out within short time. Despite being British, prices were decent for the items. They also gave free refills for the lemonade. Overall loved the dinner experience. Made the V-day so much better for us.

We stopped at Cheeky Bastards one night before Revival, and to my surprise, it was a hit. I was extremely happy that it wasn't busy because we got to sit in the cutest tea room environment and even ask a bunch of questions. The servers and co-owner were such a joy and as friendly as possible. We had a great time, and I will be back for repeat business when I'm in the area. I am also considering one of their afternoon teas--I'm sure it will be fun. I ordered the fish sandwich and was pleased. I had to cut it in half to eat it, and it was the perfect size. The fish was flaky, and the tartar sauce was amazing. I added a little bit of vinegar, and that sandwich was on and poppin'--it was a little food party in my mouth! The French fries were good as well. Overall, 10/10, and I will be back. Thank you to everyone who works here for showing us a great time. Check it out, because I will be back.

I have been wanting to try Cheeky Bastards for a while now and it did not disappoint! I had the fish sandwich and my mom had the fish and chips. Both were delicious. I even liked the smashed peas. The portion sizes are very generous! The ambiance is quite nice. The women's restroom is adorable and also has extra necessities available. We will definitely be back!

Fish sandwich and fries

Quaint English restaurant with amazing decor and friendly service. I had the fish sandwich and fries. After the first bite I thought the fish lacked flavor but after a squeeze of lemon and some sprays of vinegar it was good. The fries were delicious. I will definitely be back to indulge in the atmosphere while partaking in a tea experience.

If You Think You Know Fish & Chips... Think Again. We stepped inside and instantly felt like we had crossed the Atlantic into a modern English pub, it had it all, warm lighting, dark wood, a hint of character in every corner. We slid into our seats, ordered drinks, and opened the menu. One glance was all it took, and we laughed because we both knew exactly what we came for: fish and chips. When the plates arrived, we just looked at each other in shock. Wow. Massive portions, beautifully plated. This wasn't bar food. This was art. The batter was perfection: crisp and golden, but not that thick, greasy armor other places hide fish in. You could actually taste the fish was fresh, flaky, and tender. And the chips? Hand-cut, perfectly seasoned, with just the right bite. It didn't take long before we were fully silent, the universal sign of a great meal, and then suddenly... there was nothing left on the plate but crumbs and happiness. We had the chance to chat with one of the owners and meet the chef. They told stories of British expats traveling across town because they heard this place had the real deal, that authentic comfort done right. After one bite, we knew exactly why people keep coming back. This isn't just a meal. It's an experience you keep thinking about days later... and craving weeks after. For years, my gold standard for fish and chips was Kona Jack's. But now? I've found a rival, different, but every bit as incredible. I'm already planning my next trip, and I know my friend won't hesitate to join me. If you're anywhere near Geist on Indy's east side or even if you're not, do yourself a favor: go to Cheeky Bastards. Bring your appetite. Bring a friend. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your return.

This was our first time at Max & Tilly's:…read more Food: The fish & chips were fantastic. Maybe the best I've had in this area, and I've had them all. The fish itself was very fresh, with just the right amount of breading. Service: This is a counter-service type of restaurant, so service was fine for that type of setting. Orders are brought out to your table after ordering, on an aluminum tray. Ambiance: It's nicely decorated and everything is still brand new, but there were two things that could easily be improved: a) Considering the relatively high prices of everything, I would expect real fountain soft drinks with free refills, but instead, you get a can of soda and a glass of ice. ?!?!?!? The canned soda with no refills is inconsistent with the otherwise higher-end nature of this restaurant. Canned Coke is what I expect when I ask for a beverage at a food truck or when I'm at a carnival, not after I just dropped upwards of $30 for fish & chips and cole slaw. b) We arrived right at noon, with only one other customer there, and yet we were told that all soups were already "sold out". Not believable. It sounds more like someone forgot to order more soup ingredients, and/or they just didn't have anything heated-up.

I decided to order a glass of wine and have a scone as I waited for my friend to arrive. The staff…read morethat waited on me were very friendly and accommodating. The lemon curd that came with the scone was delicious. I was sad when the scone was gone and I still had a lot of curd leftover. For dinner, I ordered a small order of the fish and chips. It came with a large piece of fish and plenty of fries. I thought the fish had the perfect amount of breading. It wasn't overly greasy. I had also ordered hot tea. In true British fashion it was served with milk and sugar. The hot tea was very soothing and was a perfect addition to the meal. Overall, was very pleased with everything that I had. And am excited to come back for an afternoon tea experience.
