Modified club sandwich with toasted wheat bread and Munster cheese.

My first time to try this cafe and it really gave me a good vibe, reminding me of my time not so long ago living in California. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the Club sandwich I ordered was perfect. They easily modified my request to change out the type of bread and cheese I wanted. I asked to toast the bread and they even asked me what level of toasting I preferred for my bread. They also ensured my bacon was crispy as requested. This was the best club sandwich I have had in a long time. If you get a chance check out The Groovy Cafe.

This is a retro Cafe serving up coffee, tea, ice cream, sweet treats, and food. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The vibe is Woodstock. Their products and ingredients are locally sourced. They even sale trinkets crafted by local artisans. I ordered the pumpkin cinnamon roll latte iced with oatmilk, it was good.

Our Indy Coffee Club group came to The Groovy Cafe in Lawrence, IN to check out a new coffee shop. This is a very cool place with a unique and creative ambiance. The shop is decorated in all 70's memorabilia and style, and has a beautiful fireplace. Since it is Christmas, the shop does have a very nice Christmas display out front with the Grinch on a reindeer, and some Christmas decor inside as well. All the staff were dressed in Christmas clothes as well which made it very nice and fun to be in the store. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when I entered the store. I was impressed with the beverage menu and the food menu as well. I ordered the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Chai Tea for my beverage and the breakfast hash for breakfast. The breakfast hash was Ok and tasty, but not my favorite. The Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Chai tea was fantastic and incredible! I could taste all the flavors of the brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple in the tea, and it felt terrific on my pallet. I highly recommend this beverage if you are a tea drinker. The Groovy Cafe is a cool coffee shop, and would come back here again if I'm in the Lawrence area. The beverages are out of this world!

I may now have a new obsession with their chai lattes! So good! They have tons of alternatives to whole milk to add to your beverages as well. Food menu has a great variety as well! I've been wanting to try Sidedoor Bagels and found out that this cafe partners with them so I finally got my wish! Coming back weekly now!

Friendly, cozy, yummy. Great coffees with lots of options. I had an excellent Cortado. Ordered the hash and it came in a little cardboard bowl with spinach, peppers, black beans, egg, potatoes, and bacon. Plus a choice of bread - sourdough for me. One note, there were only 2 people working so it was very slow. However, they told me up front it would be a while and I was in no hurry today.

Popped in for a quick bite and loved it! The rosemary sea salt bagel was heavenly, and they generously gave us two samples of their new soft serve also a 10/10. Highly recommend the English toffee and banana combo.

Butterscotch swirl soft serve is perfect after biking over!

My tween says this place is peak vibes. :) It is soo friendly and bright, it's my go-to on grey winter days when I need to get out of the house. Great salads, local ownership, tinker coffee, always super clean. Try the groovy cake it really does hit the spot. Now that it's pleasantly warm and not brain-meltingly hot out like a few weeks ago, it's a lovely place to bike to or sit outside. Can't wait until slick city opens up a few doors down and we can do lunch or ice cream there with the kiddos before going to play!

This coffee shop is straight out of the 70s with a modern and artistic flair! This is a colorful mural painted on the wall that reads "Good Things Happen Here." There are pops of color all throughout this coffee shop from the orange chairs to the bright painted walls throughout the space. They support local artisans as well with handmade jewelry, pottery, and artwork hanging on the walls. The coffee is delicious! I got a seasonal latte - Orange Chocolate (not pictured) and the Hot Honey Bacon Bagel. It's a plain bagel with cream cheese, crispy bacon, and Cholula hot honey drizzled on top. It was scrumptious! The latte had the perfect balance of orange zest and chocolate sauce, not too sweet. The baristas were great and super nice! The barista helped provide a couple options as I was between two lattes. Everyone was super nice and quick service! Will definitely be coming back here soon!

Everything there that we've had, so far, is fantastic. The sandwiches are the best along with all the soups and pastries. Finish your meal with the best Dole whip around. Great place to meet friends for a great meal‼

Chocolate covered strawberry mocha and cinnamon swirl bread

Walking into the Groovy Cat Cafe is like stepping back in time. The interior is painted in a classic 70's teal, and iconic emblems of the 70's adorn the walls. Groovy Cat really pays attention to every detail in the ambiance of the cafe, from the 70's tunes blaring overhead to even decorating the napkin dispensers with cards from 70's TV shows! Of course, Groovy Cat does have many "modern" amenities, like free WiFi (perfect for me, who came to do some work on my computer!) and several different seating options. I chose to set up my "work space" in the back on one of the comfy couches, but there are also several tables and a countertop space. As for the food and drinks at Groovy Cat, the prices are considerably more expensive than other local coffee shops like Geist Coffee or SchoolHouse 7. My 12-oz mocha (the smallest size available) was $6, and one slice of cinnamon swirl bread was $4. I looked at the menu while I was waiting in line, and one egg sandwich was $10! Quite honestly, I don't think that the quality of the drink or food matched the steep price. I liked the idea of a Valentine's-themed chocolate covered strawberry mocha, but I could only taste the chocolate flavor in the drink. If mocha's not your thing, Groovy Cat also offers lattes of several different flavors, from vanilla to lavender, as well as teas and Italian lemonades. One thing that I loved about Groovy Cat was that everyone on the staff was so kind and courteous. I was sitting next to the speaker and the loud music was a little distracting to me while I was trying to do my work, and one of the staff members came and adjusted the volume for me. Also, my mocha was ready within 2 minutes of ordering. Groovy Cat is a great place to study or get some remote work done, all while enjoying some unique drinks and food options.

Hands down my favorite coffee shop on the north side of Indy. Located in an unassuming strip mall, Groovy Cat is a nostalgic throwback to the 70s with it's vibe - but the menu captures everything you could ask for in a current day cafe. This family owned spot makes their own syrup (medium iced oat milk lavender latte on repeat, thank you very much). They have an incredible food menu (my go-to is a Sidedoor Rosemary sea salt bagel toasted with cream cheese)...the sandwiches and toast are to die for. And the rotating homemade bakery items? Words won't do them justice - just hit that "follow" on their Facebook to see what they're baking up and thank me later. And the number one reason to check them out? The owners and staff are beyond friendly and kind. Pro-tip: There are three schools located within a block of the cafe, so keep that in mind when you stop in from a traffic perspective. Sometimes it takes a minute to get into the large parking lot, but it's worth it, I promise.

This space has a great vibe. Everyone was super friendly too. They have some couches and comfy chairs to sit on, in addition to some tables and chairs. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a barista for your coffee needs. They serve tinker coffee and side door bagels. We really enjoyed our coffees. The bagels were great too. I need to go back and try the homemade pretzel buns!

Love this vintage sewing pattern wall. Check it out.

I recommend ordering ahead for a quick in/out and to make sure what you want is in stock. I've seen the line quite long, but you can get lucky with no line on a weekday. The inside is cute but there is no seating inside. You're going to get a little messy eating your cinnamon roll and want to be in the privacy of your own home anyway. My one very minor piece of feedback is I wish some rolls were sweet rolls (i.e. skip the cinnamon). Fruity Pebble is a little overpowered by cinnamon but I'd still get it. Cookie Monster is the #1 flavor for me and I can't wait to catch Pineapple Upsidedown in stock.

Yes, these are quite a bit pricer that's for sure. People were buying one of everything in line. I was like wow! Some Items the combinations of flavors didn't appeal to me. The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu. But, the whole thing just wasn't what I thought it would taste like. Now I know. :-( Creamy, sweet, smooth, with a kick of coffee all come together to make a great tiramisu. This is what most people love about it. I don't know if they are planning on opening a store or not. The pop ups are doing well it seems. The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up

That could not be more true. We both did Pick Two: I got a chicken salad sandwich and my mother got a turkey and cheese both with the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Soup was OK, sandwiches were OK. I got a side of chips (not made in-house) for $3. My daughter was upset when we arrived bc she was napping in the car and she proceeded to cry for about the first 10 minutes so, I walked around with her to calm her before I sat down since it's so cramped to try not to disturb everyone else. She was not happy the entire time so we were trying to calm her and feed her. Cake slices and cheesecake are $17-20 each. They're large but other reviews say dry and taste old. That's pricey. We skipped dessert at those prices based on the quality of the rest of our meal... I got an $8 peppermint mocha which was good but, served in the smallest teacup imaginable. It's extremely small inside. Like, uncomfortable. Granted, I had a lot of items with my baby and her and we were seated at a table for two with her in my lap but it was close quarters and the waitresses were squeezing between the chairs to walk around. They have about 6 tables inside with a small event private room in back. Our waitress was kind but, the manager or owner was off-putting. She went to every single table seated except ours to ask how their meal was and experience and, when time to pay, she wanted to personally ring me up to ensure we left in a hurry. I get it, some places are not meant for babies, but, since it's billed specifically to kids, I thought this was. Nope, I was wrong. (She's 19 months - so, too young for this bougie of an establishment clearly) I would not come back at all unless it was for my, older daughter to have a birthday cake experience and get a couple cute pics. As far as instagram-worthy goes, they know what they're doing. As far as quality of food. It's like a 2.5 stars. I wish we'd waited and walked into the larger one in Carmel and just shopped and got some cookies to go!

Each one of our milkshakes themselves tasted different. The Oreo one had a very strong cookies and cream flavor while the S'mores one had an impressive smoky taste to it that I've never had before in ice cream. Really, the attention to detail here is fantastic. My s'mores milkshake came with a literal s'mores treat on top of it. It wasn't just a from-the-box s'mores treat. It was actual graham cracker and marshmallow that they took into the back to use a torch on and give that extra-smokey, warm gooey feel to it. It did take awhile to get our milkshakes. One older woman was working her butt off but clearly getting frustrated at the mounting line and the fact that things kept falling. (Good to see: if something fell on the floor, she took it into the back to, presumably, toss it into the cleaning area) At one point, she asked for someone in the back to come help her, but that young teen seemed to be doing the bare minimum. I'm not sure if it's because they're untrained or not allowed to operate some of the machinery, but while this woman is frantically trying to keep up with things, he'd do what he was told to do, relatively slowly, and then stand around and wait for a new command. It was frustrating ME to watch. I can't imagine how that feels as a co-worker. All-in-all, we had about a 15-20 minute to receive our milkshakes. Definitely worth it in the end, but it's just something to note before popping in. I'd say it was definitely worth it for the unique flavor and quality when it was all done. The place looks a little "hole in the wall" with a few tables and chairs in an older building with the single, for-customers restroom in it. If you like the older, diner-esque style building that's been around for a long time, it has that vibe. Both of our milkshakes included a to-go lid right on them that we could snap on. Unlike some "crazy milkshake" establishments, the lids could actually go on both of the milkshakes after a few sips. The toppings were large but not insurmountable.

My husband returned with a big glass bottle of cold water (and some of the flimsiest plastic cups that I've ever held). The water was a nice, and necessary, touch. The dishes are rich! They are rich in the best way possible, though. The event provided a complimentary crepe with your choice of fruit, and a cookie skillet with ice cream. My husband couldn't decide on which fruit(s) to get, so the employee just told him that they'd hook it up for us. The crepe came out, and it was so beautiful...it was almost too pretty to eat! They provided us with an array of fruit to accompany it; bananas, strawberries, pineapples, and kiwi. The addition of the fruit really helped to cut through the richness of the chocolate. The crepe was the perfect, delicate vehicle for all of it! I probably ate about a 1/3 of it, and tried so save room for the cookie. I'm not a real "sweets" eater, but everything here just looks so good! The cookie skillet came out warm, gooey, and with its own generous drizzling of chocolate under a scoop of ice cream (& whipped cream if my memory serves me correctly). The cookie by itself was really delicious. In the future, I will omit the addition of chocolate sauce. It really didn't need it. I look forward to another fun dessert date with my hubby at this really SWEET lounge! P.S. All of the portion sizes that I saw were shareable. Bae and I could've shared either one of those desserts and been good. I also saw a woman sharing a sweet treat with her two children, and several other patrons were sharing. We all know that sharing means caring!
