Tony's Cafe is a relatively small, family owned breakfast/brunch restaurant located in a fairly nondescript strip center in Fishers. I must confess, and this is a bit of a generalization, that my experience has mostly been that when visiting a brunch restaurant you mostly forget about the "unch." In other words, when breakfast is the emphasis one should focus on breakfast. Tony's is along the lines of places like Lincoln Square, etc. They serve breakfast all day (closing at 3pm) and also serve lunch. I arrived on a Sunday about 1pm. I was in the mood for lunch, however, I was also a bit hesitant. I'd hoped to go to CR Hero's (located in an adjacent strip center), however, they're closed Sundays. Thus, I ended up at Tony's. Tony's has a full breakfast menu with all the usuals along with a lunch menu of sandwiches, burgers, chicken options, etc. I'm always on the lookout for a decent breaded tenderloin for my good buddy and fellow Yelper Rick G., so I opted for a breaded tenderloin with fries. This building has a handful of accessible parking spots along with curb cuts at both ends of the building. Tony's Cafe is toward the west end of the building. However, those spots were taken and I parked at the other end. There's a double-glass door entryway and then you're in the dining room. There's a small hosting area to the left - this is also where you pay. Service was friendly in a quiet way. I have to admit that the tenderloin was a bit of a disappointment. It was very mid-range. It came on a toasted bun with the usual tomato/lettuce toppings. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. It was just sort of "meh." The fries, which are not crinkle-cut as pictured on their website, were also definitely mid-range. I was for sure wishing I'd opted for a breakfast selection. The iced tea was fine and in a decent-sized glass, though I was never offered a refill (a major faux pas for this iced tea lover). The bill came in at just over $15 without tip. I would not even think about ordering this meal again, though I likely would return and try breakfast since the atmosphere was fine and the service was friendly if unremarkable. The atmosphere? It's an opening dining room with booths on the side and tables in the middle. It's fairly nondescript, however, it's also definitely clean. I did not check out the restrooms on this visit. I was easily able to find a wheelchair friendly table and there was decent space between tables. Overall, this was a full-on mid-range experience. It definitely wasn't as solid as I'd been hoping going into it, however, it was a decent meal. Again, my gut told me to go for breakfast options and I likely should have listened to that. Business was modest, though it was getting near the end of the day when I finally left right around 2pm. read more

Decent hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a wide variety of menu options, attentive service and great prices. A special today was Pork Chops (cooked to order - medium and pink for me) and eggs over easy. My side was a bowl of creamy grits. Tami chose the oatmeal with blueberries and bananas. About our third time here ALWAYS amazing! This time I got some coffee OM goodness the only other coffee I could drink black was the coffee at our coffee shop. DELICIOUS! We decided to go here after waiting way too long somewhere else for brunch. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no wait for 3 of us to be seated! The waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered several food items as we were starving from trying to be seated at another restaurant for brunch. Our food was perfect temperature and came out in a timely manner. Portions are good size and prices are very reasonable here. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or brunch. I love corn beef hash and they alot of corn beef hash options. I only suggest more veggie options for skillets, why only green peppers? What about the red, orange and yellow peppers? There was parking readily available out front of the restaurant. I wish you could give half stars. This place has been open, maybe a year... probably longer. Strip mall parking. Bare bones interior. Really bare bones. We were seated immediately on a Saturday at 10 am which was nice but we waited quite a while for our food. Diner food feel and reasonable prices. My omelette was paper thin and not fluffy at all. The Swiss cheese tasted like a processed slice. The toast, pancakes, skillet and hash browns were good. I love dives but this place needs to work on their ambience. We selected Tony's cafe to cater an event and "WOW"...super impressed. The owner was so easy to work with and the food was over the top fresh & delicious. Hand-breaded chicken tenders, huge garden salad (with delicious homemade ranch dressing), assorted wraps and one of the best fruit salads with strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, watermelon and pineapple...all fresh cut. Been a few times now and is always delicious! It is a small gem of a place in the Geist/Fishers area! They have a huge menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, whatever you are looking for! Never over crowded, so no line like everywhere else in Fishers and Geist! We always go for late breakfast and get varies skillet combos always a hit, pancakes soft and fluffy, chicken tenders perfectly crispy for the kids, grits smooth and creamy, and coffee is great as well! We went here for breakfast last Saturday morning after seeing a positive review on the local Fishers neighborhoods online forum / board for this newly-opened restaurant. Glad we gave it a shot given it's a new, local eatery, but they have a lot of improving to do in our book. We were seated in short order by the young hostess, but it was at least 7-8 minutes before our server (the one and only server for the entire dining room) came to our table. We took that opportunity to place both our food and drink orders at that time. Hubby chose the biscuits and gravy platter, which includes two eggs cooked to order along with hash browns, and I opted for the Portuguese omelette with grits as the side. [Note: if you want cheese added to the omelette, you'll need to ask.] After a few bites, we agreed that the food lacked flavor as well as seasoning. We ate maybe half of our meals and then waved down the server for our check. We did not ask her for to-go containers. If Tony's wants to survive, I'd suggest increasing customer-facing staff (i.e., more than 1 server for the entire dining room), increase customer service 'touches' (i.e., quickly acknowledge newly-seated customers, take drink orders immediately, check back within a few minutes of food being served, etc.) and improve the quality and taste of your menu items. Lastly, Hubby noticed they were not wiping down hardcopy menus between customers. That should be a given during these times. read more

I discovered Tony's due to someone on our neighborhood app recommending it, so we went for a late lunch on Saturday. It's a small little spot in a strip mall at 96th and mithopper ( I know I spelled that wrong.)). I am always enticed to try a Rebeun at a new pace. This did not disappoint. I just visited Tony's Cafe for the first time on 2/2/21. The food was fresh, delicious and wonderful!! I would say the best grits I've ever had! My aunt had the Apple Crepes and she said they were very delicious. I will definitely being going back soon with my husband so I can try other items on their menu. read more

My favorite informal restaurant. Good food. Good service. Good prices. This minority-owned, family-run restaurant started during the covid pandemic when many restaurants closed down. It made it past that big hurdle which speaks well of it. It is not a fancy place to impress a date or a client. But it is a great place for a family or retiree to get a good meal at a good price.
