I was looking for a breakfast place that I hadn't visited yet, and I saw several reviews mentioned house made hot sauce. I love a good hot sauce on eggs and hash browns, so I decided to give it a try. I stopped in on a weekday morning, and it wasn't very busy. I was seated promptly at a booth, which was clean but I noticed the beverage menu was fairly grubby with spills and smudges. Definitely needed to be replaced. I ordered a combo with eggs over medium and hash browns. The server asked if I wanted my hash browns regular or extra crispy. I ordered them regular. My food was delivered very quickly, and I was pleased to see that my eggs were perfectly over medium. Too often my over medium eggs are either overcooked or undercooked but there were perfect. The hash browns were a nice golden brown, tasty, and very good around the edges but soft in the middle. I understand why some might order them extra crispy, which I would do next time. The hot sauce was indeed delicious and the sever mentioned that it was available for sale, only $5.99. Deal! I liked my food and loved the hot sauce, which perfectly complimented both the eggs and hash browns. I would return to try some of the other menu items. I also ordered cinnamon toast. read more

What a wonderful brunch! This Sunday, my bonus mom/mother-in-law invited us for breakfast. It was a gray, chilly, rainy fall day. It was perfect for staying inside somewhere warm and dry, spending time with loved ones. We had a fantastic time laughing and talking. I love a good breakfasts diner. This place is your casual homemade breakfast food. Nothing super fancy but just pure comfort food. Every time I've come here the food has been excellent. Breakfast for lunch? Yes please! I forgot my lunch at home and decided to stop in to Uptown Café for a little afternoon breakfast treat to get me through the workday. I was able to walk right in and get a table with no wait at about 12:15PM. The server greeted me before I even had my coat off and took my drink order before I was seated. I've been here numerous times and have never been disappointed by anything that comes out of their kitchen. I opted to keep it simple today with their Breakfast Combo 3. 2 crispy slices of bacon, 2 perfectly fried over medium eggs, and an indulgent side of their housemade strawberry jam that paired wonderfully with two slices of their housemade sourdough. Having an hour for lunch, I was able to walk to their location, find a seat, order, be served, and peacefully enjoy my breakfast-for-lunch with plenty of time to get back to my office. The fact that this place has so many five star reviews really makes me question everyone's sanity - no offense. Service was fine, but the food if I had to describe it in one word it would be "Meh". My partner ordered orange juice and when it came to the table there was a couple of black floaties in it. The waiter said that it was just the pulp but I've never seen black pulp in orange juice before. They replaced it but it still had black floaties in it. My partner ordered the Combo 3 and I ordered the Combo 2 for breakfast because even though I wanted bacon paying $16.99 for eggs, toast, bacon and hash browns is criminal. As for the meal, the eggs and hash browns were unseasoned. The toast was one of the most tasteless things I've ever ingested honestly I didn't realize it was possible for a piece of sourdough to completely lack any flavor. The toast was served with a strawberry compote that is only acceptable on top of a sugary pancake stack. Uptown if you ever read this please just give the people jam it's all we want! All in all don't pay $40 for the most mediocre breakfast you could ever have. It's much cheaper just to make it at home (and 100% tastier). This is one location I will not be trying again. read more

English muffin was cold and looked like they prepped it hours before, spinach was uncooked and cold, tomato was, you guessed it, uncooked and cold. Eggs on top were not poached and the yokes were hard. All of this topped with cold hollandaise sauce that, I agree, tasted like yellow mayonnaise from a squirt bottle. Pancakes are better at McDonald's; there is no way those things were cooked to order. The place feels cold and uninviting inside and lacks any kind of decor. This is a nice little cafe for grabbing some breakfast or brunch. We went here to try something new for lunch one day and i felt like ordering some breakfast food. The interior is very bright and warm with a cool mural on one side. The chairs are basic wooden and there many windows to view the trees that surround the building. There could be a little more art or decorations on the wall when you immediately enter. For food, I chose a breakfast sandwich with a fruit cup for a side. I am usually fairly hungry at lunch time so I should have gone with something else as the sandwich did not fill me up. It did taste good and the fruit seemed fresh with a good variety. I was envious of my friend's breakfast bowl which would have been a better choice for me. The prices were just a bit high as my sandwich and fruit were $11.00. I wouldn't mind if there was a bit more food but bread, bacon, cheese and eggs shouldn't be that much. The service was good and he was very attentive. We also came for an early lunch at around 11am so it was not crowded yet. Nice place though and I would come back to try one of the breakfast bowls for sure. read more

Wouldst thou like the taste of butter? Because if so, you need to get over to Uptown Cafe and order their hash browns, because they are butter-laden. The hash browns are not greasy, but they taste like they were made with a lot of butter, and after a while, that's all I tasted -- butter and more butter. And the hash browns are fluffy, not crispy, so the texture is almost like shredded mashed potatoes, if that makes sense. Anyway, if you can't tell, I wasn't a big fan of the hash browns. I also ordered the Eggs Florentine, which you have the option of ordering with one egg instead of two (which I did). I guess this was my bad for ordering this and not reading the descriptive paragraph under where it says "Eggs Florentine," because Uptown Cafe's version of eggs Florentine includes leaves of raw spinach and a slice of raw tomato. I've never had eggs Florentine with anything but sautéed spinach, so it seemed a little slap-dash and did not taste good. The egg dish seemed unbalanced, and the raw ingredients made the eggs cold. The things I really enjoyed about Uptown Cafe, food-wise: they have excellent black coffee, and their house-made hot sauce is amazing. I'm even thinking of going back and seeing if they'll sell me a bottle of it. I also liked that you could pay at your table with Apple Pay. The service was excellent, too, and the dining room is bright, open and airy. My family of four came here on Monday 10/10 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She'd already had a dinner party the previous Saturday, but I thought it would be nice to do something on the actual day of her birthday. Upon arriving, I realized that Uptown Cafe is in the same location as a diner/cafe that I'd previously been a regular at when I used to work in the area. I got excited because the food there used to be really good. Unfortunately, I do not believe the two businesses to be in any way related. The birthday girl ordered the eggs benedict and it was made with ham, not Canadian bacon. That was a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if it was described as such on the menu and my daughter just missed it, but she was surprised. My younger daughter ordered biscuits and gravy. It arrived with the gravy on the side and, in our experience, that is never a good sign! She said it was just okay and the gravy lacked flavor. My fiance ordered a breakfast combo and had no complaints, but he's pretty easy to please. I ordered the breakfast club croissant sandwich (probably not the correct name) and that thing was massive. There was so much meat and veg on the soft, buttery croissant, that it basically collapsed under the weight of all the ingredients. It had no structural integrity, but it was yummy. I also ordered a side salad instead of chips. I was thoroughly displeased that it was made using iceberg lettuce. It literally has no nutritional value. It sort of defeats the purpose of ordering a salad. The staff was nice, but they closed at 2pm and we arrived after 1, so it was made pretty clear that they were trying to get us up out of there so they could close up. What a great spot! If you're in the area this a very convenient and worth the stop. The restaurant is large and has plenty of tables. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had to order some to go food and they were quick with it. The coffee was nice and hit the spot while I waited. Plain bagel and cream cheese. Not as good as a NYC one but still good. Sorry we are spoiled. The small yogurt parfait was great with fresh fruit like strawberries melon and grapes. I got the vanilla tougher and the granola was also good. I've been eating here for a while now, and today was the first time they have ever given me or my company the wrong order. Not only did our waitress, Tammy, replace my burger (all boxed to-go as well since I was short on time) but she let me keep the other one for my partner instead of tossing it out! What a fantastic eatery! A hidden gem in the small town of noblesville. Its located on the corner of 8th & Conner Street across from Hamilton County Historical Building. Parking is on either side of Conner Street. We have eaten here countless times over the years and have never had a poor meal or experience. There can sometimes be a wait depending on the time that you arrive, we have only waited once. They have both booths (seat 4) and small tables (seat 2) and then they have the self seating bar stools, that look over one cooking station and the checking area. This would be somewhere I would go as a small group 4 or less, as the space is not that large. I have seen them pull up chairs though to try to make it work. I recommend it all! The cinnamon toast is yummy, the hash browns are always cooked to perfection, and the bacon and pancakes have always been delish. My guest ordered the french melt and loved that as well. Good Luck! My server was very attentive and friendly for my breakfast. I was in town for a funeral and had some extra time so I decided to try this spot for a quick breakfast. My biscuit was served whole with a side dish of gravy. I love smothered in gravy so my first disappointment with my entire existence here. The gravy was not overly tasty and certainly not enough to my liking. My hash browns were fairly crisp at the insistence of my server. She said she had to tell them at first glance that they were not done enough. My hash browns were a golden brown and truly I wanted a dark almost burnt brown like my initial request for burnt hash browns. I know some places just can't bring themselves to make them really crisp, but if its what the customer wants.... Definitely a cute, fun atmosphere worth trying. My friend and I both tried uptown cafe after it only being open for only 3 months and loved it. It is conviently located in East carmel right across the street from the temporary library branch in carmel . It is a cute diner feel I wouldn't say it is an uptown feel but diner has a great large outdoor patio you can find out which backs out to the woods . The service was quick lots of variety on food menu freshly brewed coffee . I got the bacon egg and cheese quiche with a large side salad . I will definitely be back to try other menu items read more

Basic breakfast and lunch spot in Carmel. I'm a hole in the wall type of adventurer ... though I wasn't sure I'd fully qualify this place as such ... and agreed to meet people here for lunch. The space has a variety of booths me tables- they have a back room that they rent out during the week for businesses or families - I think the real appeal will be in nice weather utilizing the LARGE patio space. The staff are very friendly. I ordered the Reuben sandwich - the corned beef was slightly salty, the sauerkraut not overpowering- the rye bread was delicious to be honest. Sandwiches are served with a side of kettle chips and a pickle. I normally love pickles, all types - this was a bread and butter pickle - it was horrible. I took one bite and pushed it aside.
