What a wonderful spot inside an office building!!! I was pretty confused when I reached the location until I figured I was in the right place when I saw the sign board saying Sunrise Cafe. Sunrise cafe was originally opened in 1988 which means we have a place that's 36 years old. That was an interesting piece of information I got to know on entering the cafe. I loved the booths which gave us enough privacy and also sufficient space to sit and enjoy a good meal. I had the best Tuna sandwich which was so creamy and filling. The eggs Benedict my friend had were tasty and had a delicious hollandaise sauce. In general my only feedback would be more vegetarian option. had the Hoosier Benedict, One egg! Wow, it was so small, half of a soggy English Muffin, small sausage patty, salty gravy. My side choice was fruit or chips. I assumed they were a breakfast potato but they were just Ruffles. Coffee was cold, service was barely friendly. Dropped the check and that was the last time I saw her. My wives tradition Benedict was uninspired, powdered mix Hollandaise sauce. The fruit was good. $30 left hungry and disappointed. I have this theory that restaurants located inside office buildings are a great place to find a great lunch. It's partially based on past experiences, and partially just a feeling I have. So when I'm in the mood for a soup and sandwich, I often seek out restaurants located in or near offices, like Sunrise Cafe. This restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Meridian Mark II building in Carmel. You'll find the building to the right of the main entrance -- just drive to the right until you see an atrium. The main gist of this review is: Yes, Sunrise Cafe makes a dang good bowl of chicken noodle soup, and a more-than-decent chicken croissant sandwich. (My intuition was right!) So if you're looking for a lunchtime spot, you'll find a good meal here. I believe they also serve breakfast, too. The chicken noodle soup is made with the Amish type of noodles that are thick and dumpling-like, with lots of shredded chicken, coins of carrots, onions and peppery broth. It was just the thing to eat and drink on a cold, gray day. The croissant chicken sandwich was also good, but a bit mayonnaisey, and it comes with a side of plain chips. I ordered this meal over the phone and went to pick it up. It was super easy to order, and it was ready for me right when they said it would be. They allow you to order online and pay when you get there, which is nice. I'd like to come back and try dining in for breakfast! I don't have a theory about breakfast at office buildings yet, so I'll be going in blind. But if the lunch is any indication, I'm hoping breakfast is just as good. read more

Great lunch spot! They make most of their own salad dressings so try the Valencia or the Asian Salad. Breadsticks (baked in house) are amazing. I think they also make their own sourdough sandwich bread, which elevates the BLT. The soups are also homemade and delicious. The Chicken Tortilla is my fave. Service is always friendly and helpful. I often make changes to the menu items and they always accommodate. Note: it is a little hard to find. It's inside the first floor of one of the Meridian Mark office buildings - the one furthest north (of the two). You can go in any door and get to Sunrise but the easiest is from the west entrance on the back of the building. Went for a Friday brunch with the husband. Walked in and stood there for about 10 minutes. No one greeted us, watched 2 servers walk out with food and disappeared back into the kitchen. Our waitress was nice and the restaurant owner was very nice- so that's a plus! I used to live closer to the location in fishers and I love that place and the menus seemed comparable. There are definitely less options on the weekends. I ordered an omelette with hashbrowns. Both my fiances and my food tasted like bacon- all of it! It was nasty. Neither of us like or eat bacon so having our food taste like that was not enjoyable. Finally dined-in and have some more thoughts. I'm biking to work nowadays and I'm tired of a disappointing slice of pizza from Kroger being my post-bike ride meal. There really is not a lot of options for a late morning breakfast in this part of Carmel, and I finally remembered this place existed just a few minutes from my work place. So after finding the bike rack stuck in the corner of a parking lot, I walked in and ordered some french toast. I think part of french toast is the presentation and...these pieces of break looked like they were mashed flat or something. It wasn't very fluffy like french toast usually is. I do have to give points for the syrup being hot. Bacon was crispy, which is fine. But at $3 to add some bacon strips to the meal, probably not worth the upcharge. Service here is good and very friendly, but unfortunately the sit-down food is just average. I suspect it is somewhat a captive audience to the office park and nearby parks/hotels in the area. You have a few fast food restaurants on the other side of US-31 but your options for breakfast are pretty limited. 3 pieces of bacon + french toast and coffee set me back just under $15. Considering I could get just as good of a quality or better throughout the Indy metro area, I can't say it is much of a value. Hopefully they'll have that quiche next time I stop by. read more

We came here while visiting from out of town and because we had a Groupon. Weird place to have this eatery but nonetheless it was a decent place to eat. Small menu to look at but it is fast and pretty well priced. The egg sandwich we ordered came with a meat and hash browns. They were very yummy. The pancake was huge but more like a crepe and it was meh at best. I'd def recommend the sandwich though. We even ordered one to go and it heated up nicely in a skillet. If we were In Town again. I don't think we'd go back the staff was sparse tending more to frequent flier guests and not noticing us and they give you the bill before your food even comes out so we felt rushed to eat and pay. Restrooms are shared down the hall with the business center and is kinda hard to find. Plenty of stalls though and it was clean. Omelette Included hash browns and toast. The cinnamon toast was fantastic. The omelette was made wrong, ordered onion and green pepper and got onion tomato. It's ok because I like tomatoes but the onions were still raw so still have the onion taste in my mouth. The hot cakes are unique and spongy and thin, pretty good. Waitress was very nice. The eggs and hashbrowns all taste like bacon (which is not good for us who do not enjoy the taste of bacon). Had the smallest and thinnest piece of quiche I've ever seen. My friend had the French toast which a large portion but had no flavor.

Searched the app for a local gem for breakfast or brunch. Read it was tough to find...then drove right by it. Lol. It's hidden on the back side of an office building. A few friends had recommended Sunrise Cafe. Finally decided to go on a random Thursday morning (kids were out of school for Spring Break) with four kids. Apparently I went to the wrong location. This particular location is in an office building in Carmel. Very easy access as soon as you enter ground floor. Decent space with plenty of tables and booths. But they must only cater to their working crowd because they seemed put off that I'd brought in four kids, even though the kids were still half asleep so it's not like they were misbehaving or being loud at all. Weird, since they did have a kids menu though. But neither the kids nor the adult menu had many choices on it, not even a burger. Kids had lackluster grilled cheeses, chicken fingers and fries because we'd apparently already missed breakfast hours. Even though there was "available all day" breakfast options on some things. I understand turning the grill over to lunch for a restaurant with extensive options; but considering the extremely limited menu available, this seemed pure silly. Overall, just a very disappointing experience. I actually ended up taking the kids for yogurt less than an hour after we'd left because they all (7 year old, 9 year old, 10 year old and 13 year old) ended up complaining "it wasn't very good, it didn't fill them up, etc." read more

Good food. However the restaurant has horrible sanitation issues and social distancing practices. I will NOT visit this restaurant again during COVID. I physically had to move my table to remain a safe distance from other patrons who were seated right next to my table when there were plenty of other vacant tables for them to be seated. Cleaning between patrons is extremely poor. Tables were washed down but seats were not washed. Booths were not washed down. Kitchen staff would bring large serving trays out and place it on clean tables. Completely unacceptable sanitation between customers. DO NOT EAT HERE if you are trying to practice social distancing and are concerned with contracting COVID. They do not practice clean and acceptable forms of cleaning or monitoring during or between patron visits. New to the area and found this place online. Stopped in at 11:05 to get breakfast. Very few customers inside. After being seated and given our drink order, we were told they only serve breakfast until 11:00 AM no exceptions. Since we only wanted breakfast, asked our server for our bill for our drinks. She came back and said Jim at the register would take care of us. Stopped at the register, and Jim told us our drinks (coffee and and a diet soda) would be $5.81. He babbled on about how they can only manage breakfast up until a specific time due to the number of customers they typically serve (even though the place was practically empty), and how they have been doing this for years. Didn't care to try to find out that we are new to the area or any interest in trying to keep us as future customers. Business must be really good to be able to alienate new customers. We went to breakfast here on Friday, January 15 my wife and I both got create your own omelettes and my son got chocolate chip pancakes. Our omelettes were super fresh and fluffy and all the vegetables were served al dente which both my wife and I like. My son scrambled eggs were fluffy and hot and the sausage was good. The chocolate chip pancakes are more like a crêpe than a pancake and my son didn't like them but they did have a very good flavor. We both liked the toast, the bread is of very high quality. The hash-browns we the best I have had in a long time. Super crunchy outside with moist fluffy inside. I would recommend the cafe it was very good. I just really like a good breakfast and I keep coming back to Sunrise Cafe on Meridian for that very reason. The location is interesting- it's in an office building. How tempting would that be to work in that building and have to justify not eating breakfast at Sunrise every. single. morning.? The handful of times that I have been to this location the service has always been good, people are always friendly, and the typical diner interior is warm, clean, and inviting. My most recent obsession at Sunrise on Meridian has been their plain-ol'-cheddar cheese omelet. It's just really good and it comes with crispy has brown (such a stickler for crispy hash browns!). Very cozy place and a super friendly staff. I'm not a big fan of breakfast foods, but my daughter wanted to try it. The biscuit and gravy was good, but the biscuit wasn't a light and crumbly as I prefer. It was dense and didn't really have anywhere for the gravy to soak into it. The gravy was about average. The hash brown was delicious, but a bit pricey at $3.25. Scrambled eggs were cooked the way I like them. One nice little treat included with my meal was a little soufflé cup of strawberry jam that was absolutely delicious. My daughter's blueberry pancake was very tasty. A solid, quick breakfast in Carmel - perfect for an early morning business meeting. I already had breakfast when I went here but I knew I'd be in a meeting for a while so I wanted to get something small. I got one chocolate chip pancake and it was the perfect size! Crispy on the edges, which I hadn't had in a pancake before - but it was tasty. Everything my coworkers got looked good, especially the Benedict. Which I love that you can get one or two eggs depending upon your hunger level! The wait staff took great care of us and was always refilling our drinks. She even gave us to go cups, which I always appreciate! We were easily able to split up our meals, which is not always easy for 6 people.
