We came here with a large group of about 18 and weren't able to all sit together but we did get two tables next to each other. Our waitress was super friendly and professional, and made conversation with us. She was a little forgetful with small things we had to ask for repeatedly but it was a super busy morning. We came at 9:30 on a Sunday. Love the coffee bar! Refills galore. The food was all very delicious. I got the lox toast and really enjoyed it! I got to try a piece of their waffle and it had a little hint of sweetness to it and just a little crunchy. Perfection! The glasses on our table when we first sat down I thought were dirty, but they were actually just incredibly scratched. For how cute the ambiance was (casual, yet had a slightly elevated feel) I would expect the glasses not to look nicer or at least be in a presentable condition. Zionsville Location: After many really nice experiences at the Patachou Restaurants I have noticed a steady decline in the food quality, quantity, food preparation and presentation. At a recent visit a grilled cheese was a half burnt waffle. A pathetic lox plate for $18.00. One piece of toast, two tiny pieces of Lox, a thin layer of cream cheese. Hippie with a Benz had no seasoning or taste, runny eggs, two slices of cinnamon toast only one side with cinnamon spread. I love Cafe Patachou, but I am not sure I would be returning to this location. It's crazy busy and parking is soo hard to find. The restaurant was packed by 10:45am Saturday morning, and the service was very slow. She was very sweet, but she was soo busy that there wasn't much she could do. The food took awhile to come out also, but once out, it tasted as good as usual. We all got broken egg sandwiches, and they were all delicious. If you have a girl's brunch day or a lot of time to spare, this location is the right one for you. The restaurant isn't very big, but they have some limited outside seating. I would still come back to Cafe Patachou, but I would most likely go to the other Carmel location. It's quieter over there and less crowded. read more

For how popular this place is, the food was pretty disappointing. I had the Chilaquiles, and by the time the food got to us the tortilla chips were completely soggy. Also the added bacon was pretty sparse, especially since it was an upcharge - maybe the equivalent of one piece of bacon? My boyfriend had the Croissant French Toast. He said it was just ok, and had way too many pecans. For the price and the wait time I expected more. I doubt we will return to one any time soon. read more

Our lunch at Patachou checked most of the boxes! I personally have never been fully understood the Patachou obsession but, man this place is always PACKED! We had to wait 20ish minutes to get in at 1PM on a Friday. My favorite part of every visit is the drip coffee station. The restaurant itself is super clean and has perfect brunch vibes. 4/5 starts only because this place costs at least 20-30% more than other brunch spots nearby. The food was good, but our seats... not so much. When we were seated, we were seated in the spot right by the door, and unfortunately it was cold. It's as perfect as ever here. The salmon is wild caught and sustainable, they have amazing, local GF bread as a bread option, they take allergies super seriously, and the brownie is our favorite of all time. Enjoyed our brunch here! Good Friday so we weren't sure about a wait but we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and just the right amount of chatty. Outdoor patio was bright and warm, perfect for summer weather around the corner. Got the west coast wrap (added chicken) and the turkey club. Wrap was great, way bigger than I expected. The magic is gone. Private equity kills another great thing... Since being taken over by private equity firm Hargett Hunter, the menu has been gutted, the experience dulled, and quality has flatlined. My wife and I went to breakfast this morning at 9:00. About half the tables were open, with many of the occupied four tops seated with parties of two. There was no crowd, no enthusiasm, and certainly none of the magic that has been the signature of Patachou since 1989. Two mediocre meals and two cups of coffee was just over $40 before the tip. Why has oatmeal been taken off the menu? When asked about the missing ricotta eggs, the server said that they could get me Siracha for any of their omlets. It's a wonder they don't just throw a crusty bottle of Tabasco on the table and be done with it. So, one more fabulous restaurant dies at the hands of accountants and greedy business. I am surprised that Martha let this happen. I listened to her speak about the great grass roots renaissance of the Indy food scene at the Splendid Table podcast recording at the Atheneum a few months ago, but didn't know I was listening to a eulogy. read more

Tried something new on the menu today other than the chicken salad or green goddess salad! We decided to go after church and hoped to be in and out rather quickly. We had about a 40 minute wait and then another 30 minutes to get our server to come over to place our order. Thankfully we didn't really have anywhere to be, but just note the longer wait times on Sunday afternoons. This time around I got the patawhich which is basically an elevated egg English muffin sandwich. I swapped out the Swiss cheese for the white cheddar. Delish! When I think of quintessential local Indy meals, my mind always lands on the Cafe Patachou omelette. It's a large omelette that comes with a side of arugula and toast. And because this is Cafe Patachou, if you order anything other than their cinnamon toast, you're missing out. Whenever I'm feeling a little blah, I like to order the omelette. So the other day when I was feeling blah, that's just what I did. You can order breakfast all day here, fortunately. I got my meal to go, with a cup of hot black coffee. Perfection. My go-to omelette is the California Dreamer, which comes with avocado, white cheddar, sour cream and jalapeños. It's a bit spicy, but the sour cream is a nice contrast and cools things down a bit. The arugula comes with a vinaigrette, but I never use it, and instead just stab forkfuls of arugula and then forkfuls of omelette, and eat them together. Every other bite is cinnamon toast. This is the way. Ordering a to-go order at this Cafe Patachou location is easy. I did it online, and it was ready in less than 15 minutes. Parking is plentiful in the back near Dick's Sporting Goods. There are only a few parking spaces right in front of the restaurant, so parking in the back is your best bet. read more

Bloody Mary is always good from this location, spicy and savory, with a great rim! I also had a lavender mimosa which was light and perfect for summer. If you give me a choice of going to any restaurant for breakfast that's in my top 5 rankings, I'll pick Patachou every single time. Why? First, the service is stellar. We've never had bad or even slow service here, even post-Covid. Second, the quality of the food is very, very high. The menu, while not being overly crowded, is well curated. The pricing might be a little higher than your other favorite breakfast or lunch spots, but quality is what counts. Pro tip: If you happen to sit in the outside patio area, beware of the slanted slope of the concrete on the west side of the patio. If you are able, request to sit in Edgar's section as he's the best! I ordered the BLT on sourdough. Sandwiches come with chips but you can upgrade to fries. Oatmeal: I've had their oatmeal in the past and it's been pretty decent. There's nothing extravagant with their oatmeal, it's a soft and nice well balanced oatmeal consistency.
