Needed a quick dinner after a busy day. An old fashioned meal sounded good! Off to Erika's Place! We came in an hour before closing onna Monday night so it wasn't very busy. The breakfast menu is available for dinner also which is good to know. My husband had the Beef Manhattan, an old classic that he loves and this version did not disappoint. Nice size portion doused in gravy. Meat was fork tender and moist. I enjoyed the Greek Platter, which was generous and fresh. The gyro meat was plentiful and was served w pita bread and a Greek salad. The tsatsiki sauce was unusually good with a lot of garlic, which I love! Service was friendly and fast. I visited on a "tenderloin Tuesday" , and it was a great visit. The service was quick and efficient, we were there during lunch so it was pretty busy. The tenderloin was great, hand breaded, breading was seasoned well, the meat wasn't too thin or thick and fried in fresh oil perfectly! I have eaten BPT's all over the Midwest and this is in the top 5 in Indiana. I know that I will certainly be back. read more

There aren't many options when it comes to food around the Hamilton Heights area unless you want fast food, so we were excited to find Erika's Place. We enjoyed the cozy feel of a small-town restaurant. It almost felt like you were sitting around Grandma's kitchen table. This is the kind of place where you are greeted with a smile and taken care of like you're family. If you like home cooking, this is your kind of place. There were plenty of options to keep my picky eaters happy, and the adults satisfied as well. I enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was breaded beautifully. I don't usually enjoy battered/breaded fish, but this was done so nicely that I enjoyed every bite. I'm certain that we will be back someday. read more

Never a bad meal at this restaurant! Pacer breakfast lunch and dinner items. Great options of sandwiches, salads, steaks and some signature dishes. All cooked to order, freshly made and their pies, oh my! This visit my sister had the cheeseburger and onion rings, which she said are to die for. But note if you don't like your hamburger well done you need to tell the server. I had the hand breaded tenderloin. It was a nice thick piece of meat, lightly breaded, cooked to crispy perfection. My side was their crinkle cut fries. Personally, I would have preferred the fries cooked just a little bit longer for that nice crisp on the outside but they were good. The fresh pies arranged from coconut, chocolate, and peanut butter and then newly arriving today was sugar cream, so we shared a piece of the sugar cream pie and that was delectable. Imagine a restaurant that is to a great degree geared toward an older clientele. Of course that same clientele is more likely to have a higher percentage of people with handicaps. Now imagine the shame and disgrace that this restaurant does not have a ramp or any way for someone in a wheelchair or with a walker to get in other than three high cement steps and a handrail on only one side. That is Erika's Place. Shame on you. Isn't that illegal!!! It doesn't matter what the food is like, no one should come here and reward such blatant disregard for people with handicaps. read more

Made a trip to Cicero for brunch. Local chef said it was one of best breakfast restaurant around. I read a review from early in Covid era; this person noted staff was not wearing masks. I decided if they were mask free I would not stay. I was pleasantly greeted by staff members with masks on. The place is fairly small, and you need to use street parking. I went on a weekday in off hours to avoid parking or seating issues. I had hash browns, 1/4 biscuit and gravy with two eggs. The gave you a lot of food. Hash browns were excellent. I like my gravy more seasoned, but salt and pepper was on table. Since it's small, I would guess it's hard to have a 'private' conversation. Cicero is a quaint town. I had no phone service while in the restaurant. I will make trip again. read more

There is only street parking so during busy hours be prepared to find a parking spot and walk a bit. I enjoyed the food and service despite having to wait for a spot to sit. I stopped in after finding some street parking the next block over (they only have three spots out front), arriving just around noon. The place was packed! So, I waited until someone left and the waitress told me I could take the large table (seemed like a waste) or grab the end of a long table that a couple and left. Seemed like a better fit, so I finally got seated. I saw they had a Reuben with marbled rye, so I decided to give it a try. They also had an upgrade available for breaded mushrooms which I got with my choice of dip: cocktail sauce. The food was ready in a jiffy and was done right! They gave me a container of thousand island dressing on the side so that I could add as much as I wanted. The taste was really good! The mushrooms were hot, but not oily and the cocktail sauce was flavorful, but not too spicy. All in all, a really good meal for under $9. The spot has a lot of regulars so some of them just make their way in and grab a seat, though I waited for the waitress to give me the okay. I was impressed that the kitchen was banging out the orders quickly and the staff was getting the food delivered promptly and clearing plates, filling beverages, and getting customers money collected in a timely fashion too. We had a delicious breakfast! Great service and all around no complaints. They deserve 5 stars. My eggs were cooked exactly as I asked! We got an omelette, my over medium eggs with toast l, bacon and blueberry pancakes (which were loaded with lots of delicious blueberries!!). My only suggestion would be to maybe have a $1-2 upgrade to have a few oz side of real Indiana maple syrup. That'd be a nice touch and elevate the pancakes! read more
