Gorgeous scenery for photo ops - the table here is perfect!
    Meg E.

My husband surprised me with a date night here. I can't believe I've never been after living in Indianapolis for 16 years! Just a beautiful 20-40minute drive (depending on where you're located in the Indy area) into the quaint country scene of Cicero and here lies this gem. He made a reservation near the water and the hostess said the best seat in the house was available, score! Chill music playing made the vibe even sweeter as boats docked at the sun was beginning to set ever so slightly. There's a grassy area nearby with colorful adirondack chairs where you can soak up more of the music/view before or after dinner, as well as picnic tables out front. Plenty of parking, too! Our waitress, I wish I could remember her name because she was great and so kind, was training another kind woman named Rosie. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms and there were very good, made with real crab, and you get several for the price - immediately further impressed! I got the original steam pot and I love that it comes in various sizes/combos. The one person original was only $23 and it came with skin-on de-veined shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, onions, garlic, lemon, thyme, and a Cajun spice butter sauce - SO good! Not a huge portion but plenty for me and a great size for the price. I'm glad I asked for a side of the house made cocktail sauce for my shrimp because it was excellent. My husband got the tuna poke bowl and for $21, I couldn't believe how much tuna he received! The ponzu sauce was delicious and the other toppings were SO fresh! Explosions of flavor all around. He also had a bowl of broccoli cheddar, the soup of the day, which was homemade and tasty. We didn't drink but the cocktails were reasonably priced at around $12/each. They also have draft beer and wine. I was just grateful they kept our waters full, a small but important touch. We ended the night with a slice of key lime pie for just $6. It was just okay to me but my husband loved it. I would have liked it better without all of the canned whipped cream on the plate/pie. Overall the dinner was delicious, priced very well, excellent staff, and the most gorgeous views! Other diners were in such good moods (how could you not be here?!) and my husband even chatted with some strangers after hearing them tell the wait staff that they were from his home state - small world! I don't know how this place doesn't have a higher overall rating but it's definitely worth checking out for a family get together, date night, girls night out, etc. Definitely make a reservation when the weather is nice!

The atmosphere here is great! The water view, music and east coast feel was lovely. We got a drink and an appetizer, which we decided on the Brussels sprouts side. They were nice and crispy, had some bacon, and were a good size. We were shocked when the bill came and they were only $3.50. The sandalista cocktail was tasty, but I couldn't even taste the gin. Our waitress was attentive and helpful with recommendations. They have happy hour that ends at 5pm and live music sometimes too!

Tried this place again after 4 years- and it's still not good. Service is slow, and the food came out cold. The vibes at the restaurant are cool I guess, but left very disappointed. I don't recommend coming here

Overall, a good experience. We've watched several restaurants come and go in this location and a year or two ago 8 said we really need to give this a try. Had a great weekend weather day and decided to have lunch. Made reservations for the patio and had a nice view of the lake. Thought the food was decent and enjoyed our cocktails. Service was good but it slowed a bit as it got busier. I heard the server tell people next to us that the bar was backed up. When we left I could see why. The place was packed and a wait to be seated. I would certainly come again but you really want the weather to be decent because the views and atmosphere outside is why you come here.

We were looking for a place to eat outdoors and the Boathouse Kitchen is perfect. Big plus that they accept reservations. Nice indoor and fantastic outdoor area. Views and atmosphere are great too. Service was good as well. The food is a little overpriced for the portion size and quality. I paid $22 for two under-seasoned grouper fish tacos with fries. Add a third taco or charge less. Definitely worth another visit to try some of their other dishes.

I've anxiously been waiting and excited to go here and for my wedding anniversary then we finally made the drive and I'm so glad we did! Very much off the beaten path from when I live, we drove interstates as well a country roads with pretty scenery to get here! Located on the water, we requested to be seated out on the patio so we could watch the boats and hear the live music, however, we had to walk through the indoor area to get to the patio this we passed through the inviting air conditioning and comfy booths. We also noticed that indoors you can still hear the live music because it's on speakers indoors as well. When we were seated then the position of the sun was causing a pretty substantial brightness to reflect off the water and caused me to squint to be able to look towards my husband. We then asked to be seated indoors and they willing took us indoors at a booth that also overlooked at the water, a bonus for us! Our waitress Olivia was very friendly and helpful. We began with an order of 'Frickles' which are fried pickles. They were yummy! They also soothed our hunger while we waited for our food without be too much to have spoiled our appetites. I also ordered the Strawberry Mojito which came out right away. For our meal we decided to get the Original Boathouse Steam pot for two. This was plenty for the two of us and we were surprised to see that they gave us so many shrimp! We also had Andouille Sausage in the dish and red potatoes with four small corn ears which had been broken giving us two halves each. We ate every bit of it because it was delicious! We then ordered a piece of key lime pie to split which was delicious! We definitely will return to this laid back spot.

This was my wife's and myself's first time at this restaurant. We have date night every Tuesday and this particular Tuesday was gorgeous. The view of the water as well as the perfect blue sky and warm weather complimented the exceptional food we had. We love eating on any water whenever we get a chance and we will be back to this location for sure. From start to finish from the crab stuffed mushrooms, to the tuna poke bowl and the seafood boil the food was amazing. Super fresh, flavorful, hot, and lovingly prepared. And to make an amazing evening better we had great service. The waitresses we had I believe it was Rachel and Anne were on top of their game and they were attentive and showed care for us and because of them we will certainly be back. Boathouse Kitchen and Swan Dive is a little slice of heaven and we can't wait to experience the live music next time. If you haven't been to this establishment yet, don't wait! Run don't walk here, you won't be disappointed.

This was my first time to the Boathouse. I. Ant wait to come back on a warm sunny day and try the outdoor dinning!!

This was our first time to the Boathouse. I can't wait to come back and try it on a warm sunny day!! We had a large party and made reservations in advance. The team was exceptionally at helping us work through some seating and arrangement issues. They were very friendly and professional. Lots of smiles and great service even though we had a large party. The inside facility is moderately large and good condition. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bar area is attractive and looks relaxing. You have to love all the windows to watch the lake activity and sun. The menu is large. Im sure you will find something for everyone in your party. We started with the fried pickles. The breading was thin with a slight amount of seasoning. Not too greasy. The breading easily fell off the chips. The chip was a nice size to pick up and eat by hand. A nice appetizer ! My wife loved her fish tacos. She say they were very fresh and light. The Cole slaw was also very good. It is mayo based with a slightly amount of mayo. The slaw was chopped into moderate sized pieces and slightly coated with mayo. You could detect a slight amount of seasoning. I had the BBQ and ginger wings. The wings were large and very tender. They were cooked nicely - no pink insides and slightly moist. The skin was a bit crisp just like it should be!! The ginger sauce was very mild. You could pick up hints of ginger in the BBQ sauce. However it wasn't very predominant. The BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and tasty. Both sauces were very good..especially for a non-buffalo sauce person.

A couple of friends have a boat in the reservoir and we decided to grab a bite before the dinner rush - glad we did, the food was delicious and the service was on point! The restaurant is large, with plenty of seating inside and out! Would love to come back!

This is a beautiful restaurant on the water. Big bar, lots of tvs and seating (inside and out)! Gift shop too. Bri was our server. She was awesome, had great suggestions and checked on us often. We had burgers, local grown beef...never frozen...yum! Cold day, so we had chilli too, very good. Had beer specials and specials for the games. Will return! Thanks Bri!!

Even on a brisk Indiana Feb Saturday, a little sunshine goes a long way to foretelling Spring! Great Morse lakeside location!

I had always sat outside on the patio or deck in the Summer, but given my daughter's ISSMA singing competition in Noblesville, running up to Cicero for some basketball and lunch & libations overlooking Morse Lake was a great idea! Sat in the bar, enjoying some sun while watching multiple bball games & winning some money! My steamed shrimp pot was really good and the potatoes & corn on the cob were thoroughly enjoyed if even out of season and not local. The Key Lime Pie to finish up made for a nice midwinter's break, even if I would have preferred being in Ft. Meyers in May or Charleston in August. Plenty of local beers, if that is your thing and the service & crowd could not have been nicer. A good break from the winter doldrums! Maybe the groundhog really did not see his shadow!

This is a huge restaurant. There are a lot of outdoor seating areas which is great because there's a nice view of the reservoir. The food was good and it seemed fresh too.

I love eating outside at restaurants on the water. I am a big fan of Ricks Boatyard and was curious how their menu was in comparison. My friend and I met for an early dinner around 4pm on a Friday. We had no wait time to sit outside. The tables are shaded and there was a nice breeze coming in. I ordered the blue Betty frozen cocktail because it's hot outside and it was good. Then for food I ordered the lobster roll with a side of brussel sprouts and my friend ordered the fish tacos with a side of brussel sprouts. Our waiter gave us suggestions on the menu because it was first time. I was surprised with the abundance of seafood options being located in Indiana. I look forward to coming back and trying their famous steam pot. We both enjoyed our food and the view. I really like the seating inside the restaurant. There is parking readily available.

No, it's RoHo's, as in the first two letters of the owners' names: Rogers and Howell. Clever! When I visited RoHo's, the place was hopping. It was comedy night, and I could barely find a seat. I ended up sitting on a couch with three women I didn't know, but they were people who were beautiful and amazing, and did amazing things in the community. I lucked out! The service here is so efficient and friendly. Despite the crush of people, I managed to get my French 77 quickly. It was well balanced and very tasty, and made me feel so much better about being surrounded by strangers. Mostly, though, RoHo's specializes in martinis. The entrance to RoHo's is unassuming, so you might miss it if you're not looking sharp. So, look sharp!

Our party of four ordered four different drinks - and then everyone so much loved their choice, we all reordered the exact same drink for round two. I'd give the bar list and bartender 5 stars. We sampled 3 different flatbreads. Two of them lacked flavor, one was not crispy, but very undercooked. I've seen this complaint more than a few times in reviews so it seems like something they'd address. Snack mix was good. Crostini delicious. Salad nice - although one small piece of avocado on what was billed as an avocado and blackberry salad was a disappointment. I'd rate the food 3 stars. Overall we enjoyed the vibe, the drinks and the mellow live music.

The hostess was completely dismissive as take the table we give you or leave. It was my sister's birthday so we didn't have much choices if we left for a Saturday night. We sat down to order drinks and the bartender missed the mark in the Mule drink. It was all the taste of jalapeño to the point a different drink has to be ordered. So far not a good start to the night. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer and 2 were served in a plate with a side of salsa. They were very bland with no flavor in the filling. The puff pastry and the salsa were the substitute for the flavor. Entrees were Crab stuffed Salmon with Asparagus, tomato/horseradish soup with 2 cheese crostini's, 2 small crunch salads. The portions were on mark,Not too big not too small. Salmon was blackened and cooked to perfection. Salads had fresh veggies and the dressing complimented the dish. The soup is amazing however it was served more in the warm side. The server was sub par. Not too friendly, she was all business and didn't t see her much. This was the 4 time I was there and was so disappointed this time. The food was good but the service was horrible.

When Plan A Falls Through, Sometimes You Find Something Better…read moreOur original restaurant choice was closed for the month. Time for a pivot. My father-in-law works downtown Noblesville and suggested we try Bar Ellis. Little did we know, we were about to stumble into one of the best dining experiences we'd had in a long time. Walking through the door, I was immediately struck by the interior. Historic brick walls met comfortable, chic modern design. The space was warmly lit and welcoming, and fortunately, so was the team at Bar Ellis. The hostess seated us quickly, and Grant, our server, arrived moments later with drink menus and a genuine smile. Then came the real challenge: helping my non-seafood-eating wife find a gluten-free option she'd actually enjoy. After a thoughtful conversation with Grant, she made her choice. I followed, excitedly ordering the salmon BLT. "Is this one any good?" I asked. Grant's face said it all. I was in for a treat. He wasn't exaggerating. My sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. The salmon was perfectly prepared. The bacon was crisp and full of flavor. The bread was toasted just right, crispy but not too thick. Every element worked in harmony: the crunch of the bread, the tenderness of the salmon, the crisp bacon, all elevated by a dill mayo that tied everything together. I know it's "just" an elevated BLT. But it's the best one I've ever had. I was genuinely sad when it was over. It was one of those rare meals that left me wishing I could be hungry all over again. As we finished, I sought out the manager, Chamron. She greeted me warmly and asked how everything was. After sharing my compliments about the food and service, I asked about the story behind Bar Ellis. She smiled and told me about two sisters and a brother-in-law, a chef with a passion for exceptional food and desserts, who dreamed of creating a restaurant that was both classy and hip. Then she shared something unexpected: Bar Ellis transforms on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 PM to midnight. Friday features karaoke, Saturday brings live music, and the whole place shifts to a 21-and-over scene. Even the lighting changes, creating a darker, moodier atmosphere. The scratch kitchen stays open throughout, so you won't miss out on that incredible food. I'm usually too old to be out that late, but I just might need to make an exception to experience this transformed space and enjoy that delicious salmon BLT again. If you're looking for a restaurant that's genuinely cool, serves exceptional food, and employs a team that actually cares about your experience, check out Bar Ellis in downtown Noblesville. You won't regret it.
