Very happy to have Guggman Haus within walking distance of us. The space remains largely unchanged and it was busy on a Sunday night. We each had a beer and I love that they have great sours! I was even happier to see they already have the kitchen up and running. We got the pretzel which comes with a cheese sauce and sweet mustard. Delicious! We each got the buffalo chicken panini which is very much like a very saucy dip and a slice of cheese. It was incredibly cheesy and became a little messy due to this. Wish it was a bit less runny but delicious nonetheless. Big enough that I have half for leftovers.

Really missed the bar that used to be here, but this is much better. They make great beer here and I have been a Big fan of the taproom downtown. They really took a leap opening the first location in a somewhat depressed area with light manufacturing around. But the beer is so good, they overcame a became and became a beacon of the near northwest area of downtown. Same beer here and they have Trivia on tuesdays!!! Show up early because I here it gets crazy crowded. The coffee stout is extremely good and worth a try.

Endlich!!!! The stars have finally aligned and Guggman is in our neighborhood. This place is small, but mighty. The best Hefe in town is now closer than ever. The vibes are what you expect, busy and cozy! The food is small kitchen at its best. The panini offerings are on point. I do wish they had fries, but you can't go wrong with a pretzel! They do allow children, which is on brand for their family and I respect that. It can get full quick so get here when you normally like to go for a drink to feel out the room. I recommend walking or biking! Prost!

Small size with awesome staff ... friendly and professional... a bit closer to home and same awesome atmosphere and beers as the original location..

Yes! So glad that Guggman has opened in the neighborhood and it's opening did not disappoint. The Into the Wild Sour was perfect for a patio beer on a hot night. The Buffalo chicken panini came out piping hot - nice and cheesy with a shredded Buffalo chicken mix. Great service on an opening night, everything was clicking well. Looking forward to coming back (again and again!)

Cranberry sour! And Foggy trails!!!! Love their beer!

Nic place for an informal meal and a beer! I attended my 50th class reunion here and it was absolutely the perfect spot for such an event!

Big Lug Canteen delivers a memorable meal from start to finish -- friendly, unpretentious service,…read morea warm neighborhood vibe, and two standout dishes that I'll be ordering again. The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it. It's plated thoughtfully, with complementary sides that keep each bite balanced. If you're at Big Lug Canteen, don't pass up those two dishes -- they demonstrate skilled technique, bold yet nuanced seasoning, and a real sense of care in the kitchen. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, solid value. Highly recommended.

The only downside for me is that it's a little pricey for what you get.
