I cannot recommend Sahara enough, sometimes we go twice a week! The hummus plate is bomb, and I always get the chicken shawarma and have extra to take home. The owner and his son are soso nice and they always bring us hot tea. I def recommend the basbuseh for dessert too! I told the owner I damn near might buy a pan for our wedding lol

Wow. Amazing service, so clean, huge portions, warm atmosphere. Cute date night spot as well. I grabbed some food to go after getting my nails done. While waiting, I was given a large piece of warm baklava on the house. For my gyro plate, I had already eaten and still had so much food left

While walking in broad ripple I saw this place and thought it would be a great place to stop for a Gyros. I was disappointed . I ordered the Gyros and fries. The portion size was good. The fries were hot and crisp. The gyros was the disappointment. Although the tzatziki sauce was good the gyros meat was not. I don't know if it was the seasoning or the meat was old but whatever it was ruined the meal.

Stopped in here on a whim and had a delicious meal! Got the Sahara mixed grill that came with lamb, beef and chicken skewers over a bed of rice. The portion sizes are huge! I had two meals out of this. We didn't have to wait too long for our order and while it's a smaller place, the decor is very pretty. My food was great and I think of all the meats on the plate, the chicken was my favorite. I really enjoyed the seasoning on it. Would definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.

I really love Sahara Restaurant. The food is always so good, full of flavor, and tastes truly authentic. Every time I come, it's done perfectly, and I honestly can't resist it, which is why I've become a regular. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming and genuinely makes you feel like family. The place feels warm, welcoming, and comfortable the moment you walk in. The food and hospitality together are what keep me coming back.

Today was my third time stopping in and I finally got pictures so it's time for a review. I've stopped in for my lunch break and every time I come in the service is quick, the food is delicious and it's always comfortable. Today I had the gyro combo which came out to $14 and some change. The young man who took my order was very kind and hospitable, which I appreciated so much. The gyro was well very filling, had the perfect amount of sauce , and the fries were well seasoned and clearly made to order. I've previously had the beef shawarma and the falafel, I enjoyed both of those as well. I think if you're not a vegetarian, the gyro is the best out of all 3. Overall I highly recommend this place and I'll be back to check the platters out next.

Sahara Restaurant really impressed us. My partner and I shared the Sahara Mixed Grill, and everything on the plate was perfectly cooked -- the shish kabob was tender, the kafta had great flavor, and the chicken kabob and shish tawook were both juicy and seasoned just right. Our server, who was also the chef, took our order and let us know upfront that the dish would take about 20-25 minutes to prepare. I genuinely appreciated the honesty, and the wait was absolutely worth it. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I came here for the first time since having our child and it once again did not disappoint. The hot tea comes with sugar and rose water to add if you want to. The rose water enhances the flavor of the black tea and warms the whole body. Which is great because it is incredibly cold today. The restaurant was quiet and serene offering a very peaceful dining experience. I had the Mansaf again as it is my favorite menu item. The lamb was incredibly tender and fell off the bone. Every bite felt like it was melting in my mouth. The rice and yogurt sauce added the perfect slightly sour and grainy combination with the savory meat. Once again it knocked it out of the park with the food, ambiance, and wonderful service from the owner.

We wanted Mediterranean food and were in the area so we decided to stop by. The space is comfortable and well decorated located right on the Broadripple strip. A great location but iffy for parking. We started with the vegetarian combo plate. Everything was on point for flavor and preparation. I went with the chicken plate and my friend went with the mansef. Both were wonderful and plentiful. The service was welcoming and friendly and the food was wonderful. This was well worth the trip and the search for parking.

Been coming back and this time, got their Lamb chops. Mmmmm.... it's so tasty, the meat is tender, really well flavored. Owner gave us free desert and hot tea!!! Have been a repeat customer since.

Are they open for indoor dining?

Yes, they were when I went a few weeks ago.

Did they close? Last time I went by they were closed. Thursday night on Dec 7th. No one answering phone. Great food. Would be ashame if they closed.

I got hummus from them today, so nope! Still open!

This was my first time trying Turkish coffee, and I absolutely loved it! For other first-time…read morevisitors, I recommend letting the coffee sit for about 30 seconds before taking a sip so the fine grounds can settle to the bottom. Also, don't stir it after it's served, as that will bring the grounds back up into the coffee. Be sure to leave the last sip or two in the cup, since that's where the grounds collect. The coffee itself was excellent, but I would recommend that servers explain these details to first-time customers or at least ask whether they've had Turkish coffee before. A little guidance would make the experience even better for newcomers. We also ordered the hummus as an appetizer, and it was fantastic. The naan was served warm, and the hummus tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. It was the perfect way to start the meal. We also ordered The Bosphorus Special, a mixed grill platter featuring doner, kofte, chicken kebab, beef kebab, Adana kebab, and chicken Adana kebab, served with vegetables and white rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were cooked perfectly, tender, and packed with flavor. I'm so glad my significant other and I decided to share this entrée because the portion was very generous, and we still had plenty of leftovers to take home. While the service could have been a bit more attentive, it did not negatively impact our overall experience. After our food was served, our waitress did not check back to see how everything was or whether we needed anything additional. We also ended up with quite a few leftovers and requested to-go containers. Initially, only one small container was brought to the table, which required two additional follow-ups before we received enough containers for the remaining food. One suggestion I would offer is that, for tables ordering larger meals, it may be helpful for servers to proactively offer to box up leftovers as dishes are cleared. For just two people, our table became overcrowded rather quickly, especially with the generous portions. Since our waitress did not return after the food was served, it made managing the table and leftovers a little challenging. That said, we had a wonderful first experience overall. The food was outstanding, the portions were generous, and we look forward to coming back again in the future.

Good thing we made reservations, which we will do again when we return.

I called ahead and ordered: 2 kebab sandwiches 2 falafel sandwiches 2 kibbeh orders baba ghanoush fattoush salad The employee on the phone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would actually be another 17 minutes. I waited in my car, came back after that time passed, and then was told "maybe 13 more minutes." The biggest issue was not just the wait -- it was the lack of honesty and time management. If the restaurant had simply said from the beginning that they were behind and needed closer to an hour, I would have understood. What frustrates customers is being repeatedly given inaccurate wait times. People plan their schedules, families, and evenings around the times restaurants provide. After waiting inside, sitting directly in front of the counter, I watched the cook START preparing parts of my order almost an hour after I originally placed it. Items like the baba ghanoush, salad, and kibbeh -- foods that are usually already prepared -- were only assembled then. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant were served before my takeout order was completed. Unfortunately, the food quality also suffered from the long delay: The sandwiches were soggy The salad had water pooled at the bottom and no dressing The kibbeh was soaked in grease For the amount paid, I expected much better service, communication, and food quality. A simple apology and realistic timing would have made a huge difference.

Located in a cute blue house, this is conveniently located near Lucas Oil Stadium and there was a huge concert going on the night we were there, but we were still allowed to park in their parking area. Inside has nice lighting and is pretty plain but has a homey feel. The menu contains many items we're familiar with having visited Greece twice. So I'm going to be a little critical here with my review of the food. I ordered the Greek Spaghetti, which I have had in Greece. Unfortunately this was not at all what I was expecting or anything like Greek spaghetti. What I was served was basically Prego spaghetti sauce with pieces of gyro in it. Traditional Greek spaghetti (or Makaronia me Kima) is a wonderful sauce that's seasoned with all kinds of memorable spices. It's definitely not pieces of gyro meat thrown in a sauce. So while this was fine, it was not what I truly wanted or thought I was getting so I was pretty disappointed. My husband got the chicken souvlaki and that was better but still not quite like what I remember. The meat was almost smoked and lacked some of the Greek spices that gives it a distinct taste. And the tzatziki...well, let's just say it tastes like whipped feta and was lacking in flavor too. I did enjoy the pita bread. Our service was underwhelming as well. It took a while for anyone to notice we were there and needed to be seated and the server basically did the bare minimum, never even asking if we wanted our water refilled. Overall, it was fine. If I had never been to Greece, I may have a different opinion but this isn't someplace I really want to go back to.
