    Chicken shawarma
    Ata A.

If you're looking for a hole in a shop (and a wall) this is the place. Shawarma was good, but not of the Levantine style unfortunately - so if you're seeking your classic pickled turnips or peppers, it's not included. You will have some spice, and a beautiful side of thoum (garlic sauce). Fries were delicious, hummus good ; the meat bursting with flavor. We definitely enjoyed their bread - Arabian peninsula style with crispy exterior fluffy interior! Go up to the window and order if you're trying to eat in.

My forever dining partner and I made our way to the west side today for lunch as he was craving some yummy shawarma. This little restaurant is inside the Mecca Grocery Store which has loads of fantastic goodies (take some time to look around -- we found pomegranate molasses!) when I ordered the hummus with meat, I fully expected it to be a small plate and I was pleasantly mistaken! This plate of hummus was absolutely massive, and easily enough for 2-3 people. The meat was perfectly spiced and cooked. The hummus was very tahini forward, and while delicious a bit too much for my tastes. My forever dining partner said the shawarma was a bit dry, but really nicely flavored! The absolute show stopper was the Yemini style bread! It was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Absolute perfection!! Can't wait to go back!

The falafel wrap is amazing and the ingredients taste very fresh, I highly recommend ordering it. The Mendi Lamb is quite good, the rice is savory and comes with a generous portion of lamb. The meat is quite fatty and I felt that it could use more seasoning, but overall it was a good dish. The restaurant is located in a Middle Eastern grocery store, and it's a typical hole in the wall eatery with a fast food/diner vibe. I would come back again for takeout.

Y'all. Do not overlook this place in your food hunt. It's inside a grocery store and definitely an experience, but worth every bit of it. The waitress/cook was super helpful and made sure to let us know that the food we ordered (hummus with meat and something I don't remember the name of) was finger food but she would bring us some spoons since we were first timers we didn't use them at all and enjoyed our pita "utensils" greatly. Our friends got some lamb and rice and loved that. If we were local we would go all the time. Amazing and not to be missed.

To find the most authentic food one sometimes must travel to the unlikelist of places... * Last night we had a little family adventure trying to find something for dinner. We drove to a few different spots and eventually landed ourselves in a middle eastern market that also serves food. Just getting ourselves seated inside of this tiny little dining corner was quite the endeavour and then to order food was a whole other story. After all the trials and tribulations of ordering, our food came out with a quickness and we were eager to eat. To say that this meal was mediocre would be an utter lie as it was simply fantastic! The hummus was absolutely creamy and the Baba Ganoush was absolutely dreamy with it's smokey notes and a creamy like undertone. Don't even get me started on the flatbread... ALL bread should be as delicious and fluffy with the little crispy bits from direct heat exposure!!! And this was happening all the while with Anthony Bourdain narrating in my head just like an episode of "No Reservations". * I think the moral of this story is to get out there and have fun with life. You never know just where the wind will carry you.

I love coming here not only can I pick up some household favorites like the almond biscuits and delicious baklava, I can enjoy a tasty halal meal. I've been here probably a total of 5 times and every time but once has been incredible. I normally get the hummus which is finished with olive oil, sumac and parsley. Comes with fresh warm naan ...Amazing! I love the veggie saltah, it comes in a steaming hot clay pot and sizzles in its perfection. When I say it brings memories of childhood back, I mean it. My grandpa used to cook a dish similar using similar spices. My favorite for sure. We've have the fried fish and it's delicious as well. All I can say is try something new, you won't be disappointed. Also-Keep in mind this food takes time to prepare and to cook, so I recommend allowing yourself time. Good things come to those who wait.

For other first-time…read morevisitors, I recommend letting the coffee sit for about 30 seconds before taking a sip so the fine grounds can settle to the bottom. Also, don't stir it after it's served, as that will bring the grounds back up into the coffee. Be sure to leave the last sip or two in the cup, since that's where the grounds collect. The coffee itself was excellent, but I would recommend that servers explain these details to first-time customers or at least ask whether they've had Turkish coffee before. A little guidance would make the experience even better for newcomers. We also ordered the hummus as an appetizer, and it was fantastic. The naan was served warm, and the hummus tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. It was the perfect way to start the meal. We also ordered The Bosphorus Special, a mixed grill platter featuring doner, kofte, chicken kebab, beef kebab, Adana kebab, and chicken Adana kebab, served with vegetables and white rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were cooked perfectly, tender, and packed with flavor. I'm so glad my significant other and I decided to share this entrée because the portion was very generous, and we still had plenty of leftovers to take home. While the service could have been a bit more attentive, it did not negatively impact our overall experience. After our food was served, our waitress did not check back to see how everything was or whether we needed anything additional. We also ended up with quite a few leftovers and requested to-go containers. Initially, only one small container was brought to the table, which required two additional follow-ups before we received enough containers for the remaining food. One suggestion I would offer is that, for tables ordering larger meals, it may be helpful for servers to proactively offer to box up leftovers as dishes are cleared. For just two people, our table became overcrowded rather quickly, especially with the generous portions. Since our waitress did not return after the food was served, it made managing the table and leftovers a little challenging. That said, we had a wonderful first experience overall. The food was outstanding, the portions were generous, and we look forward to coming back again in the future.

Good thing we made reservations, which we will do again when we return.

This was my first time there but I was with a local so when the waitress came up she said "Do you wanna start out with hummus & pita?" I enjoyed so much of it I couldn't eat the falafel when it came. I definitely wanna go back cause there's so many things on that menu that I would love to try. I called ahead and ordered: 2 kebab sandwiches 2 falafel sandwiches 2 kibbeh orders baba ghanoush fattoush salad The employee on the phone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would actually be another 17 minutes. I waited in my car, came back after that time passed, and then was told "maybe 13 more minutes." The biggest issue was not just the wait -- it was the lack of honesty and time management. If the restaurant had simply said from the beginning that they were behind and needed closer to an hour, I would have understood. What frustrates customers is being repeatedly given inaccurate wait times. People plan their schedules, families, and evenings around the times restaurants provide. After waiting inside, sitting directly in front of the counter, I watched the cook START preparing parts of my order almost an hour after I originally placed it. Items like the baba ghanoush, salad, and kibbeh -- foods that are usually already prepared -- were only assembled then. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant were served before my takeout order was completed. Unfortunately, the food quality also suffered from the long delay: The sandwiches were soggy The salad had water pooled at the bottom and no dressing The kibbeh was soaked in grease For the amount paid, I expected much better service, communication, and food quality. A simple apology and realistic timing would have made a huge difference.

Located in a cute blue house, this is conveniently located near Lucas Oil Stadium and there was a huge concert going on the night we were there, but we were still allowed to park in their parking area. Inside has nice lighting and is pretty plain but has a homey feel. The menu contains many items we're familiar with having visited Greece twice. So I'm going to be a little critical here with my review of the food. I ordered the Greek Spaghetti, which I have had in Greece. Unfortunately this was not at all what I was expecting or anything like Greek spaghetti. What I was served was basically Prego spaghetti sauce with pieces of gyro in it. Traditional Greek spaghetti (or Makaronia me Kima) is a wonderful sauce that's seasoned with all kinds of memorable spices. It's definitely not pieces of gyro meat thrown in a sauce. So while this was fine, it was not what I truly wanted or thought I was getting so I was pretty disappointed. My husband got the chicken souvlaki and that was better but still not quite like what I remember. The meat was almost smoked and lacked some of the Greek spices that gives it a distinct taste. And the tzatziki...well, let's just say it tastes like whipped feta and was lacking in flavor too. I did enjoy the pita bread. Our service was underwhelming as well. It took a while for anyone to notice we were there and needed to be seated and the server basically did the bare minimum, never even asking if we wanted our water refilled. Overall, it was fine. If I had never been to Greece, I may have a different opinion but this isn't someplace I really want to go back to.
