Amazing!! Everything was so good! My husband and I were in the area and looking for a place to eat. After deciding we'd like to have something along the lines of gyros we found this great little place. They are amid construction and chaos outside but that didn't stop us from finding our way in, we were hungry. We were welcomed right away and got our drink orders. We chose hummus which was served quickly and was oh so good. Super fresh, drizzled with olive oil and served with warm pita bread- which was refilled promptly when we got low at no extra cost. We both ordered gyro bowls, we never order the same thing but it just sounded good to each of us. The plates came and everything that was supposed to be hot was hot, what was supposed to be cold was cold and every bite delicious. I wast expecting anything special of the fries, I mean it's a Mediterranean place, so I felt like they were just kind of a side to the dish. They were amazing, the seasoning just right ... yum! The portions were plentiful and we took leftovers home. We don't often get dessert but the baklava was calling so we got one to share and the staff brought us a little sample of another dessert they were considering for the menu Something along the lines of a coconut macaroon that was super buttery and sweet. My husband got the Turkish coffee to go with dessert and if you've never had it, it is a sweet treat in itself. We both walked out saying we want to come back next time we are in the area, or we may possibly make the trip just for the meal if we get a hankering for Mediterranean food. The staff said they would be closed for a short time for some remodeling, but that wouldn't take long. It was a few weeks ago when we were there so it may have all already happened. Hummus was excellent! So creamy, flavorful and exactly what we were hoping for after seeing past reviews. I got the Arabic Style Chicken Shawarma and it was delicious. My husband got the Lebanon Chicken Shawarma and it was also very good. Plenty leftover, and went perfectly with the hummus. Service was quick for the gyros, we saw another table wait a bit longer for the kabobs, but that is understandable because it looked freshly grilled. The ambiance is def casual. I had the hummus and chicken shawarma sandwich (which was really two wrap sandwiches together). The server asked if I wanted it in pita or traditional style - I recommend the traditional wrap style found in the Levantine style. The hummus was wonderfully smooth, perfect amount of tahini, and presented traditionally with olive oil, sumac etc! The chicken shawarma was probably one of the best I've had in the states. It was bursting with succulent flavor, and the pickles were subtle in the sandwich; chopped in small pieces so it didn't overwhelm the meat. The fries were a bit too salty for me, but still delicious. The service was okay. And the ambiance was chill. I was visiting Carmel, and I hope Carmel realizes how blessed they are to have this place! Located in the heart of Arts and Design district, its an unassuming shop that sells halal mediterranean food. I ordered the 6 person family platter carryout for small get together. It was ready for pick up within 1 hour of calling which was fantastic. The meat and rice portions were generous and the taste and quality were great. Their hummus, garlic sauce and tzatziki were all spot on though I wish more was provided considering this order is meant to feed 6 ppl. What was the most disappointing was the salad provided - it was enough to reasonably split between 2-3 ppl...definitely not 6 unless everyone only eats 1 bite of salad. We started to go to counter and were asked dine in or take out and were provided menus and told to sit wherever we wanted. We started with the veggie platter to try most all appetizers. The hummus and falafel were very good. There was plenty of pita to share. Water was self serve and it was here I noticed that there was a stack of paper plates to use at the table along with carry out containers. I ordered the chicken Shawarma Arabic style sandwich and chose fries with it. It had pickles and gave it a nice bite. I took a lot of it home as I had filled up on appetizers. This was such a nice weekend dinner spot. No frills attached, delicious food and quick service! The Fayrouz Grill with 3 types of meat was a huge portion with a side of rice and Greek salad. The side dips with sesame and yogurt added a little bit of sourness. The salt and spice levels were so minimal that I could hardly feel it, and that's the actual Mediterranean flavor We ended up with to go boxes just cause of the amount of food. The gyro had plenty of meat but the gyro meat was very different than what we are used to. We have our share of gyros in Tarpon Springs (Greek City), other restaurants in Florida and Wisconsin. I don't know about others but I always love when I can smell what a restaurant is cooking before I walk in. Ummmm yeah, Fayrouz has it going on! Appears to be family run and they were short staffed the night we came in so we had to flag down the guy a couple times. The food came out quick and was exactly what we were looking for. Lamb Kebobs with a huge salad and rice (some of the best rice I've had in my life....do you know how hard it is to wow with rice???) hit the spot and I almost became a member of the clean plate club but alas, I couldn't finish. Lamb portions were huge, thick and perfectly seasoned and their tzatziki was a fabulous compliment to it. Next task? Convince my office we need to get our next lunch catered by them! read more

I can't get enough of Mediterranean food right now, so I decided to get takeout at Fayrouz for Mother's Day. I needed some baba ganoush and pita in my dang face to really celebrate the day of mothers, of which I am one. And because I'm a mother and have children, I made my children sandwiches while I waited for my food to be delivered to me. Now, Fayrouz does have things that picky kids might like, like fries and chicken nuggets. They also have a kids menu with things like a pint-sized gyro bowl and a chicken shwarma bowl. But I knew my kids would have none of that, and I didn't want to spend money on food that they wouldn't eat, so sandwiches it was. On Mother's Day, you're allowed to say "forget them kids" and order yourself what you want. I ordered the Maza Plate, which is also called the Veggie Plate. This comes with three falafel, three stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ganoush and pita. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it's more than enough to share! I ordered more pita just because I didn't think the pita that it comes with would be enough, but I ended up with a lot of pita! The pita that the Veggie Plate comes with is more than enough. I also got the chicken kebab, which comes with rice and your choice of Greek salad or fries. (I chose salad.) The chicken was good, but the rice was even better. My favorite bites of the meal were when spread some hummus or baba ganoush on the pita, added some chicken on top, and dipped everything in rice. Yum yum yum. Like a little Mediterranean taco. I hate to say that I didn't even try the salad, because I was stuffed from everything else and could not eat anymore. On Mother's Day, you're also allowed to say "forget salad." I will definitely be back, but I think I'll try dining in next time. I would love to see how the food tastes straight from the kitchen, instead of via takeout, like my initial experience. read more

I'm always in the mood for Mediterranean food. I passed by on a food festival and was intrigued and then went back the next evening. The food is cooked to order so there is a wait, the staff is very friendly and you could help yourself to a coffee and water while you wait. I thought the value was pretty decent and the garlic sauce is most excellent. Portions were a good size as well. Everything came out hot and tasty. Not sure what they put on the fries but they are better than most. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. Through a stroke of luck (we were going to get dinner at Petos but realized their menu drastically changed since they moved to Carmel), I recently had the pleasure of trying Fayrouz and it was I ordered the falafel sandwich and fries and it was one of the best I've ever had! The falafel was crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned on the inside. The bread was soft and fresh and the hummus was super fresh and almost velvety. Yum! It was a small team working at the restaurant, but it was super friendly and relatively quick service. There is also a ton of indoor seating which was not evident from the Yelp photos. Either do takeout or stay a while! Overall, I highly recommend Fayrouz to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Grabbed carryout here on a late weekend evening. The place was not that busy. We ordered the Fayrouz platter which came with kebabs and also the gyro bowl. The food took a little while as things are prepared to order. We would have tried the half chicken platter but were told that would take even longer. The platter was a decent amount of food and came with a side salad as well (could have chosen fries). The meat wasn't anything special, it was a bit more on the dry side than juicy. It was a bit hard to get off the skewers maybe because slightly cooked too long? The gyro bowl was decent too, once again nothing special. The platter came with a garlic sauce, now that was good. Such an impressive Greek salad! We ordered via GrubHub and it came super fresh, well-packaged, bursting with colorful veggies, and with a side of delicious dressing. We came in here after my son's swimming class for a meal and boy were we happy campers! There was not one thing we tired from the menu today that did not have us going "ooh man this is so good". The spicy gyro meat from their bowl selection was tender. Rice full of flavor and soft. Being a girl from New York City we know our gyro and this was spectacular. My son devoured the kibbeh (perfect appetizer to refuel after swimming class) and kept going back for hummas to dip them in.
