Al Basha is a combo of a small grocery store and a restaurant but there is a lot of cool things inside. I don't come to fishers often but this is definitely somewhere I wanna visit wherever I'm in the area. When I went there was no buffet (I need to try that next time) so we ordered hummus to share and I ordered a chicken souvlaki wrap and fries from the menu. The food took about ten minutes only. Hummus was a bug portion served with 6 pieces of pita bread. It was so good. Smooth and flavorful. My wrap was great as well, it had not only chicken but also something like tabouli. They had all kinds of soda drinks in the fridge. I had never seen any of them before and it was quite exciting. Although this is a sit down restaurant when I paid with my card, I was told their card machine doesn't give any tipping option, to my surprise. I recommend brining some cash. Finally stopped in after reading about this place! It's a grocery store and restaurant. Restaurant to the left with tables. The guy working was very helpful and took the time to explain the dishes to us in the Buffett. We opted for the Buffett today (only runs fri-sun) and while I would love to tell you everything we had, I'd be lying if I said I remembered all the names of the dishes. But trust me when I say the food was fresh, hot and lots of variety. Started off with some hummus, salad, pasta salad, and some other cold sides that I forget the name. The pasta salad was fine, but def okay to skip and stick to the other sides to which you won't be disappointed! The pita was also fresh and so good! Some of the stand outs for the main dishes I LOVED the mushroom beef dish and the chicken I got was so tender it was FALL OFF THE BONE! Also their spaghetti (reminded me more of a Mac and cheese) was so creamy and packed with flavor along with corn and mushrooms. Sounds wild, but trust me - so good! It was overwhelming trying to decide what to get next and making sure I didn't over do it too much so I could try everything! Again I know this isn't the best since I don't know all the names and I have no pictures (I ate too quickly and then realized after the fact and didn't think empty/dirty dishes would be appealing). Just trust me when I say the buffet is worth it. I then had the baklava for dessert and that was also good! We can't wait to come back and order from the menu. Looking to try gyro for sure next time! We tried their weekend buffet and it was exceptionally hood for the price. Their buffet has 2 main sections, a good variety of cold salads and hummus, and several meat based entrees. They don't have that much vegetable options and the dessert is just limited to basbousa. But their entree selection is really good, there are 2 chicken dishes, 2 beef dishes and 2 lamb dishes. Also they serve really creamy pasta and a very flavorful smoky rice (with the chicken) that is the best I ever had. Since the place is a bit small and lots of people were there, it felt a bit congested. They don't have a reservation system, so you need to wait for a free table. Nevertheless, I regret to try this place so late, I will definitely come back here several times. read more

This was our first and definitely not our last time eating here. Small restaurant, market attached, very kind service and good recommendations. He gave us complimentary hummus and it was THE BEST hummus I've ever tasted. Delicious soft pita on the side. I got a chicken kebab platter and it was outstanding. Sauces were delicious (red sauce is spicy but the flavor was wonderful), and SO much food. Very generous portions- I took a meals worth of food home! The salad was perfect- olives, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, great dressing and feta cheese. Overall highly recommend. Don't skip this little gem! We will be back, we loved it so much! read more

I would rate this place 100/10 if I could. This is a small little restaurant attached to a grocery store and small bakery. But despite the small restaurant, the service was phenomenal, and the food was amazing. I didn't even take a picture of the cake we got from the bakery but that was just as delicious as our meal. So far it smells great . It just a few tables in the back of a Greek grocery store . In no way i attractive restaurant far from it but I've had some great food in hole in the wall restaurants .I'm getting the kufta sandwich hubby ordered the gyro platter . We are having the Greek salad and large humus plate . The portions are larger than we anticipated . I'm not a big gyro fan but this was obviously " home made" and the best I ever tasted . My kafta was likewise well seasoned and really good . The hummus had a good amount of tahini in it which for me is a plus . Food is made with love and quality! It is worth the wait, but make sure your order is correct. They get busy and may forget items in your to-go order. We had the lamb dinner, gyro sandwich with fries, hummus with gyro meat and the spanakopita. The gyro meat is tender and perfect. Free parking available. I don't like the experience of eating chicken on the bone and avoid it when I can. I ordered the Mandi with chicken not knowing the chicken was on the bone. Best decision ever! im Syrian who LOVES all traditional Arab food but Im so in love with this restaurant because of its home cooked meals vibe and I came here today for the first time and everything was phenomenal. especially the kawaj and mansaf and mtabal. If your bored of basic Arab food like chicken over rice and kebabs and shawarma please eat here it has the most authentic Arab homecooked meals at the buffet i literally almost cried at how amazing everything at the buffet was and i have nothing bad to say. Enjoyed lunch here for the first time and will definitely return! I had the gryo hummus and salad combo and it was huge!!! So much food, well worth the price. The gyro meat was tender and flavorful, and the hummus creamy and delicious. The salad was a standard greek salad, but quite fresh and the dressing was excellent. Wowwww. That's my review. Yes, it's "in" a grocery store. But there's a full sit down restaurant. We were seated promptly and told our food would take 15 minutes (so you know it's all fresh). The food came out much faster than that. I embarrassed my mother by licking chicken shawarma off my fingers. Not even "the look" was able to keep me from dipping my fork straight into the garlic sauce and eating it. Apologies to everyone who I talked to for the rest of the day. If I had to pick a downside, I guess I'd say that they don't have Diet Coke. But they do have a fridge of sodas, most of which I've never seen before. The tangerine Schweppes was delicious. We were actually trying to dine elsewhere and some places were closed, and we happened on this little spot (just S. of 116 on Allisonville). We had hummas/pita appetizer, and then the lunch special, which is any sandwich, side & drink for 9.99. I had the traditional gyro with a side Greek salad, and the hubs had the chicken shawarma (per recommendation from the staff behind the counter) with fries. Hummas & salad came to the table first. Both very good. Then when they brought the meals, they'd given me fries as well, so we had fries for days. And my gyro seemed like a few lbs of meat. It was huge. I ate and ate and had left overs for 3 more meals. And the shawarma was delicious. Service was very friendly. After lunch, I walked through the little adjoining mart and marveled at all the traditional/ethnic olives, spices, teas, sweets, etc. I didn't know half of the spices I was looking at, except that it all looks delicious, and prices seemed very reasonable. This was apparently the second time I've tried this place. My dad, who lives 4 minutes away from the place told me that I insisted on trying them when I was here some time ago. I remembered having a very good meal back then, and they didn't disappoint this time around either. Decided to go with the family favorite, chicken shawarma and gyro sandwich. These are my very two go-to items whenever I'm trying a new place to test the water. The gyro met and exceeded all expectations but the chicken shawarma plate was the clear winner here. The chicken was cooked to tender perfection with just the right amount of spices to not overpower. Rice had plenty of seasoning and flavors, as well as the side of green bean--I'm gonna call it--casserole. Add the silky smooth toum, I was in awe. I'd like to think I've had plenty of run-ins with Middle-eastern/Mediterranean food and Al Basha comes in at the top 3 of my list. Where I've lived, I've had better luck with Mediterranean side of the style. Most of the Middle-eastern places I've tried had just a tad bit too much spices/aroma to their food to fully enjoy the balance of the dish. Folks with very sensitive nose or palate, whom are not very used to strong ethnic food could be repelled by too much spices or aroma. But I would rate Al Basha all the way up top when it comes to mastering the art of balancing the spices. Of course, I'll have to try some of the the other dishes they offer before I fully get on the bandwagon, but impressing me twice has definitely made me want to sit down and write a review. Needless to say, Al Basha will be one of my must-visit joints whenever I make the dreaded three-hour-corn-fields-crossing drive down to my folks. Definitely something to look forward to. Sadly, never again. After being a customer for over a decade, it's time to say goodbye. But, oh what a run we had! The new ownership has ruined a great little Mediterranean restaurant that was once much loved. It has been replaced by something less - way less. Too expensive - and greasy. Al Basha fries were once the best in Fishers - always fresh and crispy. Now they are undercooked, greasy and soggy. Gyro meat grease puddled in the pita under it. Certainly not worth paying for - or being asked for a tip for the pleasure of simply being picked up. I guess this was why I was the only one in there at about 6pm on a Friday night. I had the Greek Salad with Gyro Meat. Chew slowly! It's worth taking your time. I love that they grilled the meat before adding it to the salad. Most places serve the meat as cold as the veggies. Not here. They even grilled the onions for me! The service was excellent! I'm happy they have the grocery store right next door so you can get some of the same ingredients to try at home. Hi new ownership! Many changes for the better. My friend was the previous owner and I know he'd be proud. They actually made the market larger and the restaurant smaller. The best part of it is the new bakery! The Baker makes the best pastries I've ever had. It's not overloaded with sugary extras. The decadent creations he makes is why at least once a week I have to get a dessert!!! They are delicious and so light! I'm not a dessert type of person but I am now! This is my new favorite restaurant. I've had approx 6 meals there and not one time was I disappointed. While there are many good Mediterranean and middle Eastern restaurants in the area, this one really goes above and beyond with quality food and service, whether eating in, carting out, or delivery. Their employees go the extra step to provide excellent service. You may wait a little longer for your meal, but to me that means everything is cooked fresh and not precooked waiting to be reheated. I love the grocery, bakery, and butcher next door too. When I have ordered and picked up, I have loved the experience of shopping and cruising the aisles for all the interesting and rare items you don't find in local regular grocers. This is located in a strip mall and when you walk in you expect perhaps to see a belly dancer. Lots of hookah paraphernalia and middle eastern decor. Reasonably priced menu and variety. I had the Mazda combo which included grape leaves, falafel, hummus. I typically don't like falafel but these were great especially dipped in the tzatziki sauce. 2 kinds of hummus, one very creamy and good but the other had an herb I didn't care for. What a place! Al Basha is amazing! Some of the best middle-eastern food you'll eat. If you're like me and have only eaten middle eastern food a couple of times, come here on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and try their Buffett. It's a great opportunity to try something new! We had the spicy Gyro and hummus, we could feel the punch from Gyro and then hummus would do the job to tenderize. They just added a bakery and we loved their Black Forest cake. Only complaint were the fries , do not recommend them as they were overcooked and dried. Overall was a good experience. read more
