I called ahead and ordered: 2 kebab sandwiches 2 falafel sandwiches 2 kibbeh orders baba ghanoush fattoush salad The employee on the phone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would actually be another 17 minutes. I waited in my car, came back after that time passed, and then was told "maybe 13 more minutes." The biggest issue was not just the wait -- it was the lack of honesty and time management. If the restaurant had simply said from the beginning that they were behind and needed closer to an hour, I would have understood. What frustrates customers is being repeatedly given inaccurate wait times. People plan their schedules, families, and evenings around the times restaurants provide. After waiting inside, sitting directly in front of the counter, I watched the cook START preparing parts of my order almost an hour after I originally placed it. Items like the baba ghanoush, salad, and kibbeh -- foods that are usually already prepared -- were only assembled then. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant were served before my takeout order was completed. Unfortunately, the food quality also suffered from the long delay: The sandwiches were soggy The salad had water pooled at the bottom and no dressing The kibbeh was soaked in grease For the amount paid, I expected much better service, communication, and food quality. I was blown away by the Mediterranean food at Kabob Grill. This is a hidden gem on 96th Street. We had an early lunch. The food was fantastic. I started with the Hummus Sharma with Chicken. The chicken was hot, spicy and moist. The hummus was light with lots of tahini. The appetizer came with pita bread and was delicious and filling. My husband had the gyro, which was generously filled with meat and fresh ingredients. He ranked the gyro among the best he's ever had. I ordered a Tabouli salad late. It took awhile to come out and I realized that they made it FRESH! It was the best tabouli salad that I ever had. Sammie, our server, was attentive and friendly. Compliments to the amazing chef! The food is outstanding! The dining room is simply decorated, but comfortable. There's plenty of parking in the strip mall. I didn't see alcohol as an option. But they've nailed the rest. I was so excited to find Kabab Grill's menu online because their Syrian menu reminded me of some Lebanese favorites of mine. In particular, Kibbe and Shish Taouk (which I don't try this time around). We ordered to go: A falafel wrap, Meat Schwarma Plate, Babaganouj, kibbe, and an appetizer of falafel. The falafel was perfect, moist, and seasoned well and I really enjoyed the babaganouj, pitas, and Kibbe. The pitas are not the thick fluffy ones you get with a gyro, these are Middle Eastern style so they're large, thin, have a nutty grain flavor, and are so delicious dipped in hummus or baba. The only slight disappointment was the meat schwarma, which my husband said was unfortunately on the dry side (hence 4 stars). However the rice was well seasoned, all of the sauces were flavorful and we enjoyed pretty much everything. Picking up was met with friendly service and a well packaged, accurate order. I like to try local spots when I travel, and so I popped into Kabab Grill for an early supper on a Tuesday. The place wasn't very busy, but it was clean and bright inside. It's a basic place, but the food was really very good. I had the chicken shawarma with rice, and enjoyed it. The chicken was the real deal - seasoned chicken thighs carved from a vertical rotisserie broiler instead of the typical white meat chicken pan-cooked with shawarma seasoning. The rice was also very nice with almonds and mild spice added, and the salad was...well, a salad. My dinner and drink came to just under $25 after tip, so it was great value for the money. My waitress was pleasant and efficient as well. I would definitely go back and/or recommend this place to friends. read more

I wanted a place that serves good Mediterranean food. Now Mediterranean for me is good meat grilled kebabs and some good salad paired with it. Kabab grill didn't disappoint. This is a small family owned business and from that perspective customer service, time taken to serve the food, the bill everything was perfect. We enjoyed our lentil soup, halloumi cheese appetizer paired with vegetables and our main course. We were a party of 4 and our server was so patient and nice to us. Good ambience, I liked the big TV that displayed the Dishes with name and price, you can quickly find it on the menu. Décor is nice, no nonsense, very utilitarian set up. I understand it is a Jordanian eatery, although middle eastern fare is very similar and close to each other, I particularly have leaning towards Jordan and Lebanon, I was thrilled to learn that. I ordered small platter Mixed Kebab Grill, lamb and chicken skewers, and Chicken Shawarma wrap and Turkish coffee. It took them some time, little over then I expected, but I understand that there would be orders before me like to go as well. The food was excellent, it was hot, it was good looking, it tasted great, smelled great, portions are generous, I loved it. The meat was juicy and tender. The coffee was good, I would have been happier if the grounds were minimal as I had to leave some very good coffee since I rather not chew on the grounds. I admired their cleanliness, one of the hostess, did amazing job of cleaning a table, to the level of insanity. I am impressed, I have been to many Indian restaurants serving the same fare and combined they do not come close to be rated 3/10 against Kebab Grill being 9/10 in cleaning and sanitizing for next guest. I would be going there all the time, they have been open for about 6 months now, there was a steady stream of native clientele from middle east, so it proves they are catering to the authenticity as native to that culture would expect. Oh man, RUN to Kabab Grill if you're looking for great baba ganoush! It was so delicious -- I had one of those eating experiences where I was getting it all over my face because I couldn't eat it fast enough. And you know what? Zero effs were given, and no regrets were had. The baba ganoush comes with a large flat bread that is more than enough for the serving size. I loved the baba ganoush so much, but I don't want the gyro that I also ordered to be pushed into the shadows. My gyro was fantastic, with lots of juicy meat, vegetables and tzatziki, all wrapped in a soft pita. I dolloped some baba ganoush on the gyro, and I had little bites that were making me dance in my seat. I was dancing in my seat because I was eating the food at home, where no one could see me. I got my order to go. I imagine the food at Kabob Grill would taste even better if you dined inside the restaurant, which I will definitely do soon. read more

Beverages are located in a cooler: canned soda, tea, bottled water. They provide you paper plates and plastic utensils to use inside, which saves on a dishwasher. The staff was friendly and attentive. We started with the hummus with beef that came with pita bread. Then we ordered the large mixed kebab that had salad and rice under the meat. The large minded kebab could serve 2-4 people, it was approx $41. We chose chicken and lamb. The meat was tender and delicious. The nasty condiments on the table were not appealing. Omg finally a Syrian restaurant here In Indy, as soon as you walk in you are greeted by the sweetest (i assume) Syrian lady running the shop, we decided to start with the hummus and I'm so glad we did! This is not the stuff you find in the grocery store this is 100x better so fresh and flavorful and not super gritty the supermarket hummus can be it's topped with super high quality olive oil - seriously the best tasting olive oil I've ever had when I go back,, yes I will be back I have to ask what they use. Then for my main course i ordered the lamb Kabab plate and oh my melt in your mouth juicy lamb , ahh I can tell they marinade this with yogurt and spices with how tender and flavorful it is and then with them grilling it adds the best char. Also to add that little sauce cup on the side I THINK was tzatziki I could drink it was delicious the rice was fresh and seasoned beautifully as well. The only negative I can say is they have done absolutely nothing with the place so the decor and ambiance are extremely lackluster. The tables, chairs and restrooms are adequate. I really am not a fan of sit down restaurants that only offer bottled water. If you drink a lot of water with your meal it's really inconvenient. We ordered the falafel, chicken and mixed meat plate. The falafel was pretty good. Very crispy and well seasoned. The hummus it was served with was delicious. I ordered the chicken shawarma with rice and they brought it out with fries. The server told me they won't take it back and left me with it. After a little back and forth she said they would bring me a side of rice. The was the first red flag. The chicken was dry and flavorless. I was so disappointed because it smelled delicious. My husband ordered the mixed meat plate. His meat had more flavor but it was also extremely dry. The salad served with doesn't come with dressing and was really bland. I'm ended up not eating my meal and the server said they wouldn't take it off the bill. I told them there was no way I was paying for a meal I didn't eat. So be warned if you happen to dislike your dish you will be expected to pay. Service wasn't good food left a lot to be desired. I was excited to try a new Mediterranean/Middle Eastern spot and ordered carry out twice from here. First time, I got a Lamb Kabab Plate and a Meat Shawarma Wrap. The Lamb Kabab could be softer but the Meat Shawarma Wrap was good. My second run included a Kufta Kabab Plate and it was definitely better. Much softer this time although a bit dry to my liking. I have not been to the actual location, but would like to check it out sometime soon. I ordered the Baba Ghanouj and the Chicken Sharwama Wrap. Both were OK, but did not blow my mind. I felt more pita bread could have been provided with the Baba Ghanouj, but I made do with what I had. The Chicken Sharwama Wrap was delicious, but wasn't the best chicken Wrap I had ever had. I would like to go to the actual location and dine in for a meal just to get the full dining experience. Once I do that, I will have a better feel of the venue and ambiance. I can only go by the quality of the food right now for Kab Kab Grill, and it is ok in my mind, but not top level enough to blow me away. read more

This is as close as you can get to food from the homeland without being there. The bread was fresh, the complimentary lentil soup was a very nice touch. Tender delicious chunks of meat, grilled and seasoned to perfection. If you're American and unsure what to try - the Chicken Tawook or Chicken kebab is perfect. Rice pilaf was really delicious! As a Syrian, I always look forward to trying a Middle Eastern Restaurant. I think these are some things to consider: 1. There needs to be actual cloth tablecloths, plates, and real silverware. It adds so much value to the restaurant and people enjoy the dining experience more. 2. The chicken shawarma lacked flavor and was very greasy. The grease ruined the crispiness of the bread. Good fries though. 3. The lamb kafta had a gamey smell and was not seasoned well to help. The rice was cold and undercooked. 4. The kibbeh was alright, again underseasoned. 5. The ambiance was nice overall, I like that the music wasn't loud but I think sticking to secular music will attract people of all backgrounds. 6. The Greek salad was drenched in dressing. You really don't need that much; it's no longer a salad. 7. There needs to be napkins on the table. 8. Staff are lovely and the place was clean. Again, good start but I think the above suggestions warrant consideration.
