This has to be the worse gyro I've ever had. The meat is presliced meat like you buy at the grocery store and it was very greasy! Then I went all out and got hummus...the hummus tasted like nothing, no flavor at all and the pita bread was stale and not warmed or grilled just old and stale. A waste of $24! Oh and the service, they didn't have any customers and I placed my order online, they never started making my food and gave me a look like I was bothering them by asking for my order. read more

I had really high hopes for this place but wasn't blown away. However, I'm still giving it 4 stars because I think the particular dish I ordered was just not my taste. The food overall was flavorful and the service was awesome. The staff were super sweet and my food was ready quickly. GOOD: Delicious and plentiful lamb kabob, chicken kabob and rice in the platter meal. Tidy cafe deccor dining area. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. She even provided an order of pita bread (on request) at no additional charge. Tidy restrooms. NOT GOOD: The platter meal includes a tasty albeit was diminutively small portion of Arabic salad. There's no same option for a slightly larger amount nor to switch to a different type of salad other than ordering a full salad separately. Only plastic eating utensils provided which were pretty flimsy but usable. Hot tea served in styrofoam cup was a bit sweet. Unsweetened hot tea not available. read more

Very disappointed. Ordered a Gyro with no fries. Did not check when I paid (my fault). When I was leaving, he said "oh I added fries by mistake ". I thought he was just throwing them in for free so didn't protest. Found out I paid for them. Bad customer service! Food was very greasy. Most of the gyro meet was cut thick and reheated on the grill from a pan in the back. One thin strip of fresh meat from the spit was laid over the top. Covered with oil. Bread was so soggy you could pick it up. Flavor was bland. Fries were run of the mill with the extra crispies added to the outside. Not my thing. Seasoning on the fries was good, but sparse. The magical dinner box gifted us with this unassuming little place for our date night. It's next to an Indian restaurant, so getting out of the car in the parking lot is a fantasic olifactory assault. The restaurant isn't very big, it's not particulary memorable inside (outside of the wonderful aromas). I wasn't entire sure what to expect from the fried kibbe we got as an appetizer, but I loved it. I almost wanted to order more. Hubs and I opted to get the mixed grill, and we got the bigger size so we could have some for lunch the following day. We had shishtauk, chicken kufta, and lamb. The flavors were amazing, I will dream about those kabobs. We even enjoyed it just as much eating them cold the next day. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Walked in at 8:35pm to place a Togo order close at 9pm. They tell me kitchen is closed. Indian family walks in behind me and is seated and served. Don't post hours of operation if you're not gonna honor it. I really don't wanna think this was racism but definitely special treatment. The food was okay, but they charged you $1.50 for a bottle of water. When asked what to drink, we said water. The sever brought bottled water without saying we have to pay for it. We only found this out when we looked at the receipt. read more

So I will say that the one thing Indianapolis does not have (at least on the north side) is a good Kabob restaurant. I decided to give Kabab grill a chance since the reviews were pretty good. I came for lunch, and immediately you walk in to a nice ambiance. You are greeted as you walk in and told to pick any seat. There is a server, but you seat yourself. It seems like it is family owned and run. A menu was brought to me and prices looked normal. I ordered a lamb Kabob sandwich with fries and a water. The water by the way, is not free! This was rather odd that they served you bottled water instead of filtered water. On to the food: The lamb kabob was absolutely terrific! Juicy, flavorful and well cooked. I was very tempted to order another one. The fries on the other hand....YIKES. They were clearly frozen out of a brown GFS bag and they tasted just like it too. I am really hopeful that they try to up their fry game if they decide to keep offering fries as the side here. They were awful. All in all, this is a great joint for kabobs and I highly recommend going. I would skip the fries, and be sure you are ready for a bottle of water when ordering water. read more

We were eager to try any Shawarma in town as we were new... had tried some of the places in Carmel and were disappointed. We walked in after a friend recommended that we give this place a try. We were not disappointed. We ordered the chicken shawarma and the mixed grill along with tabouli. The chicken shawarma was packed with meat and had a good amount of garlic sauce. They did supply more garlic sauce on the side. The grilled meat came on a bed of rice with a small side of salad. The meat was well made and tasted great. The tabbouli was good; though I prefer mine with a bit more olive oil... more like olive oil with tabbouli in it, but that's my personal take on it. We had Kunefe for dessert. It was somehow light to eat and not horribly sweet; though I'm not sure how many calories it would've had I will be coming back and back again now that I know where to get my Shawarma fix in town. We ordered carry out from Kabab Grill tonight: hummus, baba ganoush, chicken kebabs, and a gyro. The baba ganoush was a little sweet (compared to that of Bosphorus Cafe, which is smokier, but still good. The rest was very good. The portions were substantial, maybe enough for two meals for a lot of people. We think this is a real find for us. It's pretty inexpensive, and convenient for us. It's nice to see little places like this along the east 96th Street corridor. read more

We were there earlier today and the food was just amazing!!! Had their Falafel and small Mix grill.. the food is freshly prepared, flavors perfectly blended and the overall presentation just right. When I say right,, it is because it invites you to eat it and not just admire it. Our first visit but not the last,, we will be back for more. Besides the food,, I would say the service is very friendly and the ambience comfortable. We have ordered take out from Kabab grill at least 5 times in the last 8 months. We always get the x-large mixed grill and have friends over for dinner. It is truly so much food. It comes with rice, chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, chicken cubes, beef cubes, beef kofta and chicken kofta. Along with hummus, baba ganoush and salad. All the meat is so flavorful, and tender. It's more than enough for 6-8 adults. Took off 1 star because I've noticed the last few times we have ordered that they hardly give us enough rice. The rice barely covers the bottom of the tray anymore. Otherwise the food is really good. We keep going back! read more
