The owners of Petra cafe have changed and the new name replacement is Noor Cafe. Noor is an Arabic word which means light. We went in looking for Petra and ended up ordering a platter and a falafel sandwich. I must say I was beyond impressed with the juicy, tender, delectable meats and the garlic sauce combo. The bed of rice was colorful and so flavor packed. The bite of meat with a spoonful of rice and a topping of garlic sauce was heavenly and so good. We thought we would have leftovers with the portion but we ended up eating everything anyway. Service is great and the place though small is in a very good area which has a variety of stores and a lot of new shops.

What a hidden gem this restaurant is. Don't let the casual vibe distract you from the fact that this family is serving absolutely delicious kebabs, house made sauces, and generous portions at an incredible value. The chicken kebab is one of the best pieces of chicken I've eaten in a restaurant in a very long time. The lamb is kebab is tender and tasty. The beef kefta is all meat and seasoned perfectly. That massive plate of food was $28 ($20 without the extra Kebab) and includes a beverage. That's an absolute steal! Great food, great people, go check this place out.

Had the kofta kebab, what was unique was that I never have been asked what spice level I wanted. I love spicy, so I asked for hot. It was the perfect level of spice and the tzatziki help keep me from sweating too much. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back when I'm in town again.

Our experience at Noor Cafe was top notch. From answering all of our questions/ making suggestions for accommodations based on our preferences, to the incredible presentation & quality of the food, to the immense flavors & (very generous) quantity on our plates, 2+ weeks later & we can not stop thinking, or raving, about our meal. Despite being an-order-at-the-counter setup, the owners/ chefs served us like a sit-down & were genuinely interested in our experience & feedback throughout the evening & each course we tried. My husband doesn't have a lot of experience with Mediterranean dishes, & came in thinking he did not like lamb... but we both fell in love with everything we tasted (well, savored). AND my husband was raving about the lamb to the point that he plans to go back for lamb kebobs, only; he's a convert! I've labeled each photo with what we ordered, but our favorites were definitely the mixed kebobs: the meat is so well-seasoned & cooked, with delicious veggies & rice, & Greek salad to accompany it. (Also, I haven't stopped thinking about their Garlic & Tzatziki sauces... I want to try them on everything I eat... ever! ) Any complaints in other reviews about the time it takes (though we didn't wait more than 15 minutes for each component) clearly do not appreciate superior, made-to-order food. Visit Noor Cafe, ASAP, & experience it for yourself. (And tell them Cory & Chapin recommended you go.)

The Vijayawada Chicken 65 Biryani was really good. It has great flavor, though the chicken quantity felt a bit less compared to the rice. Their salt & sweet lime soda was also nice and refreshing. On another visit, we tried both the veg and non-veg thalis. They were decent, not amazing, but good enough. The portions were huge. Honestly, they could reduce the biryani rice in the thalis and just offer refills to avoid food waste. My absolute favorite here is the juicy chicken mandi. I've tried mandi at a few places in the US, and this is one of the best I've had. The chicken is flavorful, the portion is great, and the rice is super aromatic. It comes with yogurt sauce, curry sauce, mayo, and veggies. It's only available on weekends, but it's definitely worth it. Overall, solid service and some standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the Mandi.

The staff is nice and accommodating ensuring that every guest is taken care of. For my meal, I decided to try a mix of dishes all with medium spice and wasn't disappointed. I started with Butter Chicken, which was tender bites of chicken served in a rich, creamy tomato gravy that was perfectly spiced. The basmati rice served alongside was fragrant and fluffy, the perfect complement to the dish. Next, I had the Street Style Fried Rice add Chicken. It was a delightful mix of tender chicken, shrimp, vegetables and an infusion of Indian spices that gave it a unique, flavorful taste. The Tandoori Shrimp was another highlight with medium sized shrimp marinated in an aromatic blend of spices and grilled to perfection, served with a refreshing mint chutney. To top it all off was the Garlic Naan that was buttery soft and packed with garlic. Perfect for soaking up the sauce from the butter chicken and tandoori shrimp. There was literally HAIR in our food and after that we couldn't eat anymore. We ended up leaving everything. The service was ok but nothing else is good. It almost felt like heat was not on. On a cold day COLD AIR WAS BLOWING. it was average clean because there was food crumbs or dirt was on the floor. I showed the guy that there's hair in our food , he said he will bring another one out (which we didn't ask for). I asked for the bill which came after the replacement bowl. *the replacement bowl of biryani was lesser portion than the first one. Almost like they were compensating for what we had eaten and we only had one serving spoon full before noticing the HAIR. THEN THE GUY GOES "they are all wearing hairnet so idk". Like almost accusing us for implanting that. I said that I have red hair and the 2nd guest has fine long hair. He started stuttering. Gave 20% discount which I didn't ask. Food reviews are based of taste but this kind of experience is just terrible and says a lot of an establishment. He was in my way and before leaving I said I'll consider modifying and he just looked at me angry. I didn't ask for discount or replacement. And I paid tips (before someone starts assuming things)
