Friendly staff and it's great that they have pool tables. Beers were priced reasonably. I ordered the wings and unfortunately, these reminded me of precooked frozen reheated wings you get at dominos or the freezer section at the store. Not crispy on the outside, yet tough and dry on the inside. Lovely bar however, definitely a great spot to play pool but you can get better wings literally anywhere. read more

We didn't have a super great experience here. We were going to see a show at The Vogue and we got here with plenty of time to spare. We ended up being substantially late to the show, and this was unfortunately due to the staff here. We ordered some beers, that was fine. We also ordered some dinner food, pretty simple stuff, I got a tenderloin sandwich. I was excited, as I was visiting and happy to be back in Indiana to get the state's signature giant pork tenderloin sandwich. The sandwich was nothing to write home about, the patty wasn't super big either. The food was taking ages and ages to come. We would try to make contact with our server who was very clearly goofing off. When she finally came she said the kitchen was having issues with the prep for the tomatoes? We told her it wasn't a big deal, we could do without tomatoes, to please just get the food out. Another eternity went by and we finally got the food, with tomatoes on the plate. We scarfed it down and left as soon as we got the bill, which also took forever. The space was pretty big, and honestly pretty empty considering there was a show that night. We'll probably go somewhere else next time. read more

Food was great ! If you like easy going bar vibe. They did not have a specific cocktail menu but they have a full service bar so they can make just about anything if you ask. I got a Long Island and it was strong ! Ranch was amazing also ! We also got pretzel bites but forgot to take a photo of them super good with the beer cheese. read more

The bartender kept skipping songs she didn't agree with(within the first 60-90secs) behind the bar, and the waitress waited about 10 minutes just to cash out with our waitress... fun fact though, it was on a slow Sunday evening (7/27 @ 7pm), I honestly don't know if I'll be back after this, seems to be going downhill. read more

Great spot to hang out and drink in Broad Ripple! There are deals everyday most notable to me is Yuengling (24oz for $5!). The game room is a nice spot to kill time, $1.50/game to use the pool tables. The vibes are great, everyone is having a time. read more

This is a cool spot, perfect for watching a game. We came here with a crew on a Saturday and were impressed by the number of TV's as well as pool tables and other games to play. We tried some appetizers and I was particularly impressed by the mozzarella sticks...they were great! I got my drinks at the bar but they did have a server that would bring drinks over and was very attentive. Nice spot in Broad Ripple to meet friends and hang out. They have 3 pool tables and TVs for games with some arcade games towards the back. I've been here before when live music is playing and it's a good time. Servers and bartenders are friendly, however, we were given the wrong credit card one time and the other customer had our card as well. The server apologized but it was very stressful as we had to cancel our card and wait for a new one. She had the cards in her back pocket as opposed to near the register and I wish she would've at least been more attentive to check the name before cashing out. Regardless, this review is to reflect the bar not the experience with her. The food is great bar food and drink specials are great throughout the week. They also have a Touchtunes machine which we enjoy playing around with. read more

Full confession- I may be totally biased to this place. Going to school at Butler, this was always my go-to chill bar. One of top qualities in a bar I look for is the chill factor. I love being able to sit in a booth with a pitcher of beer and just enjoy my time. No loud atmosphere. No obnoxious patrons. No pushy wait staff. The tavern has never disappointed. You can sit there for hours on a college football Saturday and take it all in. The wait staff and bartenders are cool and friendly. I can't sit here and honestly say the food is amazing. You can find a better burger in broad ripple, but in terms of finding a relaxed bar atmosphere I have to put Broad Ripple Tavern at the top. I don't mind Broad Ripple Tavern. However, having lived a few blocks from here for 4 years, I've only ever been here twice. And once was before I lived here. So that says something to me. Both times I've been have been for events. The first was a bar-crawl lipsync battle, which my friend won, so I of course was happy here. The 2nd was this past Friday for a Bonaroo trivia event. The space in the back is perfect for events like this. I love that they have two bars, one in the back which is a bit smaller, and a larger one in the front. The stage also made it easy to hear and see the trivia host. There were several servers walking throughout the back area to help take orders, but we did struggle to get their attention and get taken care of. We were able to order some food and got their nachos and chicken fingers. The nachos were okay, I want to go back and give them another shot. They were loaded and had liquid cheese, which is a win in my book. The chicken fingers were a bit dry though. I don't see us coming back here for dinner, but I won't discount the place as a great venue for events like those mentioned. read more

Broadripple tavern is a local classic I've come to learn, and I can say I've visited a few times. Located on the corner, down near the alley cat and insomnia cookies you can find broad ripple tavern. It's a pretty large location in my opinion, the front has a good number of tables and a large bar, and the back has pool tables and other bar games plus more places to sit. Large drink selection, your standard beer choices and mixed drinks. They also have food options as well, which I would consider good bar food! They have daily specials you just have to ask, or read up on the menu.. Everyone is also very friendly as well which adds to the experience. as well as attentive drink was never empty. I had a tasty Bloody Mary, which I'm always nervous to order in a bar because you never know what you are going to get. This Bloody Mary was good! Just the right amount of spice, good snacks on top, even more important I didn't feel like I was just drinking mix with a whisper of vodka so my hats off to that bartender! read more

I guess the majority of my experience here involved our senior socials when I was in college. Which with those experiences came awkward conversation with people I didn't know or even worse, knew and didn't remember. They have a lot of pool tables, which is a plus, helps ease the burden of weirdness. Also they have a great window seat and good bread sticks. The specials, are usually decent, and as far as Broad Ripple bars go, it's one of the easiest to get into. So that's a plus, but over all, I guess I've never really been a big fan. read more

Formerly the site of an Irish pub, this prominently-located Broad Ripple establishment is a great place to have a meeting over a drink, meet up with friends, watch a game, or eat lunch. Definitely drawing a crowd on weekend nights, this place can also be very chill during the day or after work. The owners did a great job of renovating the space when they opened, and it offers a basic, yet nice design, and a long bar where many people can belly up at the same time. The BRT is definitely one of my favorite places to have a business meeting over lunch or a drink. This is for a few reasons. One, it's rarely busy at lunch or right after work. Also, the food is decent bar food and the service is great. I am rather fond of both the tuna melt and the salmon dinner, which comes with a salad and is a great deal for the price (about $10). It's also one of the better places to start a night and get some good drinks in you before heading out to more lively destinations (should you choose that route) or a more low-key place for the late night. Finally, of the nicest features of the BRT are the summer-friendly windows that open along Broad Ripple and Carrollton Avenues. This allows both a cool breeze and a nice, semi-outdoor feel, and of course, ample people-watching opportunities on the Avenue. There is easy parking along Carrollton, and in the lot behind the building (free during the day, $5 after 5pm most days). read more

This is one of our favorite Broad Ripple spots! We like to play pool and have a couple drinks with friends/family. We spent a good part of Sunday game day here, and we had a blast! We played pool for hours with family and friends ($1/game), and enjoyed sharing pitchers of beer along with snacks! There were 9 of us, and we ordered a variety of snacks to share: fries, pickles with spicy ranch, pretzels, wings, chicken tenders, and quesadillas. The chicken fingers were my favorite because the breading was perfect and the blue cheese sauce was delicious! We had such a fun day, and I was pleasantly surprised by how yummy the food was! Was part of a large group of friends who decided to watch the IU vs Purdue game here. There were over 12 of us, and our waitress, Jordan, was excellent, especially with the amount of food and drink we requested frequently. The pork pulled nachos were fantastic, with the extra extra jalapenos to make them even better. My husband had the chili cheese dog, which was gone quickly. The vibe was great despite the IU loss. Dropped in on a Friday night with a group of six people. The place was pretty crowded, but we found a table right away, and before we could even sit down, a waitress was at our table, greeting us and taking our orders. It was pretty late, so I grabbed a late-night menu, but was surprised when I was told that the full menu was available. We ordered a ton of food, all of which came out super quickly. I got chicken fingers dipped in hot sauce and they were epic. I also liked that they were giving samples of drinks, and that they didn't give you a dirty look when you ordered a glass of water. There's something about the Broad Ripple Tavern that seems so convenient. I don't really know why, since it's on the strip with everything else, but while I've never felt the need to go into many of the other bars, I've stopped into the Tavern many a time. Maybe it's because of how it's positioned, with the door opening out onto the corner and windows lining two streets. It just seems cozy. I've had some good times here, too. I had my first, and only, Cement Mixer here (if you've never had one, please take my word for it: just don't). It's a lovely place to breeze into for a pitcher on a lazy afternoon. You can watch tv, if you want to, or not. It's not as obtrusive here as it usually is. I think there are pool tables in the back room, but I never really go back there--I always gravitate towards sitting at the windows and watching the passers-by. Came here on a Thursday for my pool league and discovered that Broadripple Tavern has the BEST pretzel bites I've ever had. Rather than the standard pre-made ones, these pretzel bites were cut up from a whole soft pretzel, fried, dusted with garlic pepper (or Cajun seasoning) and served with jalapeño cheese (or spicy mustard). Dark and dingy it is perfect to end up here towards the end of the night or the beginning of the night depending on your preferences. a place with a friendly wait staff and cheap drinks and food which is ok at best, but on a wild night in town is easy on the pocket. they also have a few pool tables where you can play for just a buck. for chow down midtown they also have the best deal in the neighborhood. go there for the cheap booze and a quick bite. read more

I'm really sad about the service, or lack thereof, that a friend and I received here this past Saturday. I'd raved about the burgers and she was excited that they had fried pickles. But after waiting 20 minutes without service we left. When we got here I went to the restroom and when I returned to the table my companion for the evening told me that the waitress said she would "be right with us." Only she never came back. The place wasn't crowed, it was practically empty and it was 5:30pm on a Saturday night. We were heading to a concert at 6:30 and didn't have all night to wait around so at 5:50 I suggested we eat somewhere else. I'm bummed. Really loved this spot great vibe for a Thursday. Friends and I split the pretzel bites app with jalapeño cheese. I got the buffalo chicken wrap which was great the fries had awesome seasoning. The best part about this place is definitely the hang. The drinks aren't great, but it is expected. It's not super rowdy, and still fun enough for 21-25 year olds to get together and have a good time. The food here is pretty tasty. I have a friend that seriously comes here for the fries, which I think is super weird. It is just good bar food. I go to Broad Ripple Tavern quite often. They usually have decent drink specials and I can usually find a table. Drawbacks: They charge a 50 cents surcharge for juice which I think is very strange. It can get very very smoky inside. I like that their kitchen stays open really late. Ask the waitresses about the late night menu- they have it memorized and will list off a bunch of appetizers that are served at 10 p.m. Try the fried mac and cheese! read more

Right in the heart of Broad Ripple's main drag, a chill bar with good bar food. BRT is also a place to have a conversation with friends, which not every place in Broad ripple allows. You can also usually find a seat, which is a plus. The food is generally average bar food, and the kitchen is open late! There is smoking allowed, so no whiners please (your hair and clothes will wash). If the windows are open, you barely notice. There is a huge back area, with its own bar, and many, many TV's. A friend was visiting from out of town and I had a half day off work on a Monday, so what better way to fill that afternoon than day drinking in Broad Ripple Tavern? It was my first time coming into the place after passing it walking down the street for years--I haven't the faintest idea how I never made it inside. I was impressed with the operation. The tavern is huge and lends itself to a mixed crowd. They have some decent beers on tap. We had a few DTFGs from Bier Brewing Co. as well as some Two Hearted and enjoyed a snowy day of drinking. We talked, played pool, etc., all while our waitress was extremely tentative but not overwhelming. The beers were about normal price for Broad Ripple, so nothing special there, and the same goes for their food. We didn't eat much, but we did order an appetizer of chips and queso. WARNING: Their queso is not queso, it's nacho cheese. We desperately craved queso, and were a little let down when it didn't come out. But hey, you can't really be unhappy with a bowl of melted cheese, can you? The chips are fresh and unlimited until you finish your salsa and cheese, which is nice. There are plenty of TVs, so it makes me think that it's somewhat a sports bar. It has a pretty laidback and interesting environment for a sports bar, I must say. read more
