Had such a great time at Macizo. I went with a group on a Saturday, so it was pretty busy. We didn't realize they take reservations, but will definitely plan ahead next time. Even so, the wait was only about 20 minutes. I ordered the pasta huancaína and it was a 10/10. Flavorful and the perfect portion size. The spicy red macha sauce really tied everything together. We shared the molletes and the focaccia bread was soft and delicious. I also have to mention the sangrias. The rosé sangria is a must-try! Last but not least, the pear poundcake with ice cream was a 15/10. Definitely my favorite part of the meal. Can't recommend it enough. You can really tell the owners put a lot of care and intention into this place. Despite how busy it was, the service was still great. The amazing reviews are absolutely deserved.

This has easily become one of my favorite restaurants, I try something new everytime I go and nothing has disappointed! Not to mention they are James Beard Semifinalist! Im so incredibly proud of them and am so happy I have the opportunity to enjoy their creations! Food? Try it all!! Dessert? GET the Pear poundcake a la mode!! You will thank or curse me later. I have not stopped thinking of it since getting it last month! So im happy to share I've already got it on the books for another trip! The staff are always so friendly and service is top notch! The owners are some of the sweetest people too! Supporting smalland local is just 1 of my favorite things to do! Their newly remodeled addition to the restaurant makes it so cozy and I feel as if I'm home. Its simple yet colorful, just makes me feel warm and happy from inside my belly!

This is officially my new favorite restaurant in Indianapolis. After living abroad for a year, it was on the top of my list to visit when we returned. We went within days of landing back stateside and were warmly greeted by the owners. I already loved the experience before we even sat down. As we were walking to our table, we ran into a fellow Yelp Elite / Indy food influencer, so you just know it's the place to be. Our table wanted to order as many things as possible because everything sounded AMAZING. We started with the guacamole bowl because, obviously. Also, it comes with homemade sourdough bread that they make daily which was incredible too. As I was reading the menu, I read that the tamales are nixtamalized and ground in house. That is a huge deal as that's a more laborious process but is the absolute best way for humans to consume corn. "The processing renders the protein more digestible, allowing tryptophan to be absorbed by humans." Probably 90% of corn you eat out isn't nixtamalized so this shows that they know food and really care. We immediately ordered the tamales and they were the best I've EVER had. I absolutely love lomo saltado, so when I saw the burrito de lomo saltado, I was immediately sold. It was big, fresh, well-prepared, and came with a side of bean salad. I would order it again immediately. I wish I could have it again now, but it's only 9am - LOL. I've heard amazing things about the tiradito tuna appetizer, pasta huancaina, and mole enchiladas too. We were a group of eight and every single person's plate was completely empty by the end of our meal. Everyone was so happy with the experience and it was made even sweeter when the owners brought out freshly-made Mexican sweet bread that they'd just made for everyone to try. I mean... what a dream!!! We had our toddler with us and were so appreciative of the kid's menu, the fact that they had highchairs, and the comfortability of the space being so family friendly. We chatted with the owners before leaving and it was truly such a memorable, delicious evening. Thank you so much! We'll be back and will be singing your praises ongoing!

Stellar. I thought I knew flavor but Macizo showed me up. Food and drinks are unique and delightful. The pear pound cake is divine. I love their sourdough bread. Service was passionate and caring. Comfortable inviting clean dining room. Free parking. This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant so don't come here for that. This is a I'm willing to try new things and have a good time trying to figure out what's in my mouth place. Salud!

Such a great restaurant! I've been here before but finally got around to taking my wife with me for late dinner and we LOVED it. They have mainly 4-person tables plus some bar seating, and the atmosphere and decor was lively and welcoming. We were able to get a table around without a reservation after about 40 minutes since it was so busy with Devour. The staff were very kind and patient despite us sitting down around 30 minutes before closing, and we never felt rushed to finish and leave. To start, we got the red sangria, seasonal agua fresca, and rajas con queso, which were all delightful! The bolilo bread was truly divine - like a thick focaccia (crispy outside soft inside) but sturdy enough to hold the weight of the heavy dip. For the entree, I had the taco norteño, which was so delicious and flavorful - the tortilla was great too. My wife has the enchiladas campechanas, and she loved the sauces especially the green mole. The red mole was nutty and warming, which was a nice complement to the green mole. The pickled red onions that came with the enchiladas really brought the ensemble together. Desert HAD to be the pear pound cake with the ice cream. The soft, warm, moist cake with the cold, rich ice cream was just a perfect way to end the meal. The owners, Omar and Luz, were wonderful and should be very proud of the wonderful food and service they've brought to the area. We will definitely be back!

What a gem of Intech Park! I loved my experience here. This is not just another Mexican restaurant. It has more unique, authentic feel with a hint of Peruvian cuisine as well. Any Latin American food lover should come here. I went for the Devour Indy menu. It's a three course meal and four of us ordered different things and tried each others food. The meatballs- great sauce The guacamole bowl- generous portion, great with the sourdough bread served with it. Sopa criolla- my favorite Peruvian soup. It has an egg, pasta, beef and potatoes in it. Served with bread. Perfect for winter! Jericalla- it's like a flan, not too sweet Pear pound cake ala mode - wonderful desert, moist pound cake with ice cream on top. All the servers who came to our table were nice, friendly and professional. I loved the atmosphere and I'm sure I'll come back.

My friends brought me here for a celebration and all of the food was on point. This is my first time having Peruvian food and it is so flavorful and the chilli oil is so delicious. The place is clean and nice with plenty of parking outside. The service was wonderful and our servers were all so attentive with answering questions, giving recommendations and ensuring that we were well taken care of.

Stopped in for lunch with coworkers, we were promptly sat and given drinks - our server, Monse made sure we were familiar with the menu and advised us that their bread is made in house! My coworkers had the Tamales and the Taco Norteno, I had the Mexican meatballs - we all left full and happy! My coworkers did feel like it was hard to hear due to the music but regardless, I hope to come back soon!

Luz y Omar and the whole Macizo family have my heart, such incredible people running one of Indiana's most unique restaurants. Where else can you get a menu of flavorful and comforting Mexican Peruvian food with influences of Asian flavors? Salsa macha is good on everything and the fresh bread and drinks they make in house is a nice pairing! It's a cozy and thoughtful space with a lot of joy.

What an absolutely divine place! I cannot believe I haven't heard of this authentic Mexican with a Peruvian twist place until now. It is four minutes outside of Eagle Creek Park, and a group of friends decided to go there after a hike to celebrate a friend's birthday. First of all, when we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a nice clean, aesthetic and extremely friendly wait staff. We did have a reservation for six people, however, you could probably walk in and have a little to no wait depending on the time. I ordered the red sangria and it was delicious. I don't typically love sweeter drinks, but the sangria was nice and not overly sweet. They make their own in house hot chili seasoning that is amazing. We ordered the Raja and guacamole with focaccia and sourdough as an appetizer. Both of these items were amazing. The bread is made in-house and it is fabulous. For entrees, we split the Tiradito, guajolota toast, and the tacos campechanos. Every dish was unique and delicious. I would order all of them over again except maybe the toast (it was served over sourdough and by that point I had had enough bread :)). My favorite was the tacos... it had cheesy goodness in between two corn tortillas with a large piece of chorizo. It was very filling. I love this place and I will come back. It is a gem!

I always love coming in here. It feels like a warm embrace, especially with all of the kind staff here along with the owners! I started with the Jamaica and gosh I've never had a drink here I didn't love. Everyone at my table was raving about these. Next up were the mole enchiladas. I loved trying these but next time I really hope to get my hands on the taco norteño! I had a bite of my friend's order of the molletes and gosh it was so tasty! That homemade bread is incredible! Speaking of..I highly recommend the seasonal pound cake for dessert. My friend and I shared our desserts and that one is just sooooo good! I also imagine it would be great with coffee. Anyone.. I love it here and you should try it out if you're on the fence! Also love seeing the new mural and couch and artwork when you walk in. Definitely gives it a cozy feel!

Macizo - my first review of 2026 - set the bar so high for this year! I've wanted to go to Macizo for some months now, but traveling for most of 2025 got on the way. I have to say it was worth the wait! The staff were amazing, so nice, helpful and they even gave us some recommendations. Now the food... I mean, THE FOOD! Macizo is Mexican - Peruvian and the tiradito was probably the best I've had in a while. We also got the torta de carnitas on a fresh focaccia (they make the bread daily!!). I also had the Valentine's cocktail and it was delicious, but I've heard all the drinks are good. Everything in this place yells authentic, tables, decor and even the music in the background. I just loved going to Macizo, 100% recommend

When we arrived, the place was empty. We weren't even sure that they were open until we saw the kitchen staff behind the line. Upon entering, I saw a kiosk where you can place your order, but a woman emerged from the back to take our orders. Being that we weren't familiar with the menu, I told her that the kiosk might be easier. She insisted that it wasn't, and as I went on, I realized the same. The kiosk states that there is a $1.25 charge for the sauce on the side, but she explained that it comes with one sauce free of charge and additional sauces cost extra. We placed our order with her: A small Italian salad to share, the Fatty B calzone with the spicy marinara sauce and the Hot Mother Clucker calzone with the chipotle garlic ranch. We ordered them with the suggested sauces but also order the regular marinara and the garlic sauces on the side. We were given glasses for water (self-serve from the soda fountain) and also ordered a bottled beer and canned cider. By the time we were done ordering, a line had formed. The store was understaffed, which was explained to us later, so we had to exercise patience. We didn't receive our beverages until after the calzones were delivered. Before that, we received our rather large, small salad. It was more than enough for two people. The woman had explained to us that it comes with 4 cups of lettuce plus the toppings. That information helped us make our decision to share. The space is large and we noticed cornhole boards to be used on the patio. Unfortunately, it was raining when we went, otherwise we would have played. The calzones were good and filling. Neither of us finished ours and had food to enjoy at home later that evening. The Hot Mother Clucker isn't very pizza-esque, but dipping it into marinara sort of brought it back into the fold. The suggested chipotle garlic ranch was a better pairing indeed. The salad bowl/plate is oddly shaped, which caused toppings to being spilling off the sides. When it was brought to our table, the woman tried saving the toppings by wedging them between the order slip and her fingers and dumping them back onto our plate. I stopped her. I wasn't trying to be rude, but I don't want to eat food that a stranger's hands have touched. I explained this to her. She tried to assure us that she washes her hands constantly throughout the day, but she'd just come over from the register without a handwashing break. Just let the toppings fall where they may! Let's keep it hygienic.

The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

However, I will attach a picture of their menu. The pizza's were good, with fresh ingredients, and remained hot all the way home. We order one hand tossed crust and two crispy thin pizzas. The crispy thin crusts were thin.... but not cracker thin. They were very good none the less. The food is 100% Halal so the sausage is beef rather than pork. We got a sausage and mushroom pizza and enjoyed it. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our bill was correct as was our order. The location has very limited dine-in seating. It appears predominately a carryout location. I believe they make deliveries as well but double check, including the delivery zone. Since it is mainly a carryout / delivery establishment, it is extremely important to me that orders are correct. I was very satisfied with the accuracy... my family can be very particular and makes a lot of menu substitutions! The menu consists mostly of pizza and wings. They have limited appetizer, salad, and sandwich wrap options. Drinks include bottled water and canned soda, among other items. We will return to this restaurant. The wings appear to get good reviews so we will probably order them next time.... along with another pizza!

We complimented it, asked where they found it, and before we knew it, we were chatting with a wonderful couple who had traveled all the way from overseas just to watch Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever play that night. Moments like that are one of the reasons I love Indianapolis on game days. The patio was the perfect place to soak it all in. Fever fans filled the sidewalks, kids proudly carried homemade signs, and there was an excitement in the air that only comes from a city rallying behind its team. We could have people-watched for hours. Our waitress was exactly what every server should strive to be. Friendly, relaxed, and genuinely fun to talk to, she somehow mastered the art of appearing right before we found ourselves looking around for her. We never felt rushed, but we also never waited for anything. The food held up its end of the bargain too. The fried mozzarella disappeared embarrassingly fast and earned a solid 9.3 on my unofficial stretch meter. Crispy on the outside, perfectly gooey inside, with a marinara sauce that was every bit as good as the cheese itself. The chef salad was fresh, generously loaded with toppings, and easily big enough for a meal. I honestly couldn't tell you what beer I ordered... Because what I remember most is the experience. Sharing appetizers on a sunny patio, meeting fellow basketball fans from halfway around the world, and watching Indianapolis come alive before tipoff. It reminded me that sports have a funny way of turning complete strangers into friends. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're headed to Gainbridge.

Our server was friendly and responsive to one member of our group (male) but repeatedly didn't acknowledge another (female). This wasn't a one-time thing, it happened several times over the course of our visit, and it came across as dismissive. As for the drinks: beer prices were nice and cheap, but the margarita was on the expensive side and not really worth it. The place seems geared toward bigger dinner crowds, which may be why a two-person drinks-only table didn't get much attention, but being essentially ignored isn't a great look either way. We wouldn't return. 2/5.

The building facade is unassuming in a strip mall off the main drag in Carmel. Inside, the place oozed character. We love dive bars and Fat Dan's is an original. The place is a dive but in the best sense of the word. The interior is worn but everything was clean and inviting. The staff were warm and welcoming. We sat in a booth with tattered seats and a wobbly table and we loved it!! We ordered breadsticks, a Cuban sandwich, wings and fries. Before I describe the food, I have to write about the way they deliver the food. I saw one of the staff bring out this boat of food wrapped in white paper to a table near us and thought that was an order of a specific type that warranted such a delivery. When I asked our waitress about it she smiled and said that was how she was going to bring out our food. It's a little thing but we thought it was unique and just added to the feel of the place. A few minutes later we received our food in a white paper boat and it was awesome. The breadsticks were good; the nacho cheese wasn't the best. The coleslaw was a hit with my wife and son. The Cuban sandwich was really good. The chicken wings were outstanding! The wings are smoked and meaty...and the blue cheese dressing that came with it was delicious. The waitress told us that they make the blue cheese in house and I believe her. The fries were tasty- our waitress was right in saying that a small order would feed a family. We did our best but there was no way we were finishing anything. The portions are large.;) All in all, we had a great meal in a unique place with really friendly staff. Thanks, Fat Dan's!!!

We selected Doc B's and it was our first time here. Normally, we would be at one our favorite restaurants across the parking lot, Seasons 52. I'm so happy we tried Doc B's. It was absolutely amazing on every single facet of being a great eatery. The facility is inviting and fits a business casual lunch crowd and would also be most appropriate for a date night or special gathering. Friendly and prompt service starts at the hostess stand and just builds from that point. Our server, Sam (Samantha) was one of the most professional and attentive server we have experienced in some time. It takes a great management team to mold a staff to be exceptional. And to our surprise the General Manager, John served us our entrees at the table. But later checked in with us to evaluate our experience; which is unheard of these days. John and Samantha impressed us so very much, that Doc B's will now become a regular destination. Oh yes, I should comment on our food and cocktails. TOP NOTCH!! My wife had a carnitas sandwich with slow roasted pork, coleslaw, a pickle spear and thick onion ring with amazing barbecue sauce. It was served with the best tasting side I have ever put in my mouth. You must see what they do with a smashed baby Yukon potato with special breading and deep fried. I had the famous Wok Bowl with shrimp and lo mein noodles and sweet and spicy Thai sauce. It is packed with the freshest vegetables and sprinkled with cashews. I was blown away with the quantity of shrimp in that bowl. They do not skimp on the protein. I enjoyed this dish so very much and can truly say it isnt just a stir fry entree. Beautiful facility, friendly and attentive staff, management that truly cares about the customer and quality food coming from the kitchen that will not disappoint. During that entire time, no one had even taken our entrée order. Our server was pleasant, but she wasn't very present. We found ourselves constantly looking around for her, but she was nowhere to be found when we needed something. She brought me a glass of water without ice, so I had to ask for it. Thankfully, they have the good nugget ice, so that was definitely a win. One thing that really stood out was the food delivery. Normally, restaurants use seat numbers so the food runner knows exactly where each dish belongs. Instead, they just placed plates wherever there was space. It was odd. Maybe it was because we were seated at a round table? I ordered the wings with a side of broccoli. The wings were decent--good enough, but nothing I'd go out of my way to order again. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately it wasn't warm. I also asked for hot habanero sauce and a side of garlic butter. The habanero sauce was disappointingly watery, and the garlic butter arrived cold. Why not melt the butter before bringing it to the table? The entire experience left me scratching my head. That said, I'll definitely give them another chance because this really felt like an off night. I still want to try the candied bacon, and I'm almost certain I spotted a hot fudge sundae making its way to another table--even though I didn't see it anywhere on the menu! Wish me luck!
