This is a unique, fun Mexican place with lucha libre theme. Not sure how long they have been open but I finally tried it. What a great addition in Fountain Square. Inside there are not many tables but they have a nice patio seating area, which would be so nice when it's not cold. I ordered a torta and it was perfect for my appetite level as I was hungry- it had breaded steak (heavy on stomach, I need Tums with it but it's so worth it) and avocado, and more. So tasty. Killer tortas! Couldn't speak higher if the food. So good. It was wrestling trivia night. So the dining room was noisy and crowded. And the staff seemed a little out of sorts. Maybe avoid trivia night. But definitely stop in and try the tortas. read more

My favorite item to order at a Mexican restaurant is a torta. The menu has quite a few options, however, for the tortas, the majority have pork. I do not eat a lot of pork, so I went with the steak and egg option and it was very good. My friend got the one with turkey, franks and steak, and that one was savory. My other friend Got a chicken burrito and enjoyed it. They brought out three different kinds of sauces, and they all had quite a kick to them, but they were all delicious. The spicy one. I'm assuming had habanero, and that one, if you do not eat a lot of spicy food, Beware. They also have a bar and alcoholic beverages, which we did not try but will next time we come back. If you theme a thing with wrestling, I'm going to like that thing. This place did not let me down. But to my surprise, it was how good the food tasted more than the decor that won the match for me. Tortas are not my first choice at a Mexican restaurant, but as their name suggests, Super Tortas Lucha Libre knows what their doing. The bread, the bread, the bread... perfectly firm to the hand but soft to the mouth. From there it's really about selecting your favorite ingredients for the inside, and I recommend the Alemana. Breaded steak and chorizo are like the tag team that has different backstories but comes together unexpectedly to win the titles much to the fans' delight! I was also impressed by the elote fries, and I used the salsa verde that came as a side with my torta to balance out the creaminess of the elote fries. The habanero and chipotle salsas were too spicy and smokey, respectively, for my liking. For the non-wrestling fans in my party of five, the Lucha Libre theme was just moderate enough to enhance the vibe rather than distract from it. My friend and I came for lunch today. There was a lunch special for half a torta with fries and a drink. I ordered the Brazil torta which is the breaded steak, pineapple and mozzarella cheese. I enjoyed the torta- the half of it was more than filling. The fries were a little heavily seasoned but I didn't mind them. The inside of the space is nicely decorated with murals. Stopped in here for lunch on a Friday afternoon a while ago. Tacos were amazing and we got the dips to try as an appetizer. I got two steak tacos and my partner got one each of chorizo, steak and chicken. The steak tasted a little off in them like maybe it should have been pitched the day before... but the chorizo was incredible, the chicken had great flavor and the guacamole itself was worth the drive from Greenwood. Three cheers for a New Mexican restaurant in Fountain Square! The staff here are wonderful and the service was great! I have a gluten allergy, so I decided to try the some tacos and an horchata. The tortillas were super good and slightly crispy (which I loved)! I ordered a chorizo taco and also a carnitas, based on the recommendation of the guy who took my order. Both tacos were filled to the brim with meat! I could barely finish both tacos. The red salsa was super spicy and the green salsa was less spicy. Both had great flavor and paired well with the tacos. Walking distance from the SVN deathmatch show I went to in fountain square. Food was banging! Shout out Danny and Sergio the Mario brothers laying pipe and taking shrooms they know how to make a damn torta! Alex helped us at the bar, dude was hilarious and very personable. We went In just for some drinks we got 4 jumex and he convinced us to get the tortas. Being from Miami I got the torta Cubana. Wow that thing is massive! Wow is all I can say. I had such a great experience here! First of all I absolutely love the theme and decor. There's lucha libre books, pictures, masks, and even playing on the TV! I was immediately greeted and sat when I came in and brought a menu right away. The waiter informed me they are known for their tortas. He was very friendly and told me about what was most popular and what he liked. I went with the Pachuqueña, breaded steak, smoked pork, and mozzarella. It only took maybe 5 minutes to come out. The presentation was nice and he brought me all the salsas to go try with it. I highly recommend getting the torta as is, with all of the fixings! It was incredible. I also got a dessert, which was unique. A pistachio cake on top and flan on the bottom. It was excellent too. Not too sweet and I liked the mixture of textures. I will definitely be back to try more things here. More people need to be talking about this place!! read more

This place is great! I've visited consistently since it opened and have had nothing but good experiences. The tortas themselves are excellent! The bread is nice and warm and the meats/cheese are cooked perfectly. There are many different torta options, so its easy to find something you'll enjoy. I'd recommend getting the Cafe de Olla coffee while you're there as well. The atmosphere is great with luchador art on the walls and wrestling on the T.V. The service is great as well. My only complaint would be that there aren't many options for vegetarian/vegan eaters as far as I'm aware. I think having substitute meat/cheese options available for the sandwiches would make the resturaunt perfect in my mind. read more
