This was delicious! I wouldn't say the best Italian in Indy but I would recommend it! The food was very authentic and flavorful! Loved the dark moody vibes. I would come back an try this again!
Came here for a girls night and I was not disappointed. The minute we walked in we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. As I looked over the menu I couldn't help but take in the warm and inviting atmosphere. I quickly started with a glass of Chianti and we ordered the baked ricotta for the table which was absolutely delicious. For the main I ordered the bucatini which was perfectly balanced and I could tell how fresh the pasta was! Overall great experience and I will be back to try more items off of the menu for sure!
Possibly the best downtown experience! We try different restaurants before going to Broadway shows and I cannot believe this is our first time visiting. Greeted by the best hostess, Stefanie- spelled that way(- bc mine is as well) - friendly and accommodating, she sat us on the patio and even snapped our group pic afterwards! She even was able to produce change for me, as I needed to tip our server. The food was delicious and fresh, and I recommend the lightest tiramisu I've ever had in my life! Dianna our server, was very sweet and helpful w her suggestions and attentiveness! Inside was beautifully decorated, although, I didn't spend much time inside, it seemed to be very warm and inviting. Hope to join again soon!
We wanted to try some place new and take advantage of a DevourIndy special menu. This was a great choice. It's located on Mass Avenue right next door to the Bottleworks Hotel. It's in the former Mimi Blues location. There is metered street parking in front and nearby. There is also a parking garage on the other side of Bottleworks. The vibe inside is friendly and classy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our server, Diana, was super nice and personable. I started with a cocktail called the Rosemary and a warm olive mix. Both were delicious. My first course was the mussels in white wine sauce. I'd have to say they are the best I've ever had. The entree was Chicken Involtini. It was a stuffed chicken roll accompanied by an arugula and red onion salad. It was very delicious. The servings were large enough to take home leftovers. My dessert was Limoncello Mascarpone and it was a yummy way to finish my meal. Can't wait to return and try another yummy meal.
I've never been here before until last night, we had a girls night dinner for devour I had the berry pie drink to start with, it you like sweet alcoholic beverages that's the move I started with the prosciutto which was tasty, it had some onion compote that I really enjoyed , then I had Rigatoni Alla Vodka, it was good but not great, the chicken on top was a little dry, I only ate half as I was saving room for the dessert and that was great! The texture is not very soft, which I like and very sweet and tasty! The service was good, there was a few times that we were waiting for him to get to us but otherwise I think he did a good job specially during devour season The ambiance is clean, a little dark inside and just your regular restaurant noise level
The service was good and they have a chill vibe. For some reason I expected more from this place but that doesn't stop me from wanting to go back. Metered parking or a paid lot within a 5 min walk is available but can always be a hassle. Everyone was friendly and my food was just okay but I will be back to try something else. I will say that I would get the green beans every single time.
Late review alert - I came to Rosemary and Olive during Devour summerfest, so the items I ordered are not on their regular menu but I desperately beg for them to be. Three courses was $39.95 per person. The outdoor patio is lovely in the good weather, feeling private from the sidewalk and passersby. Our service was also very good and our server (I can't remember his name, it might have been Jeff) was so attentive to us and very knowledgeable about everything we asked. Starter: prosciutto with melon. Absolutely stunning, and I would love to order again. Equally refreshing and savory. Main: tortellini. Filled with more prosciutto, I believe. I desperately desperately need to be able to order this again. It was just so savory and good, with a nice balance of the cream sauce and added vegetables. Dessert: cannoli. Made with chocolate chips and filled allllll the way through the cannoli. Chefs kiss, I need it again. Value index ($/satiety): 5/5 stars. It's definitely a little more pricey than other places but it's more than worth the delectable food you receive. Mich-Ellen stars (my version of the Michelin stars): 2/3 stars. It's definitely worth making it a point to try this restaurant if you're in the Indy area.
Reservations recommended. We had issues finding a parking spot so we were a bit late on our reservation but they were able to seat us. Inside was crowded and hard to hold a conversation. They have a few acoustic tiles but they don't do enough to dampen the sound. They need more soft surfaces. The fake floral arrangements need to go or they need a professional to redo them. Even silk plants can help with noise. Service was good. Tea was kept filled. We both got Caesar salads and they were good. They may make their own dressing? Husband got Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was good just needed salt. No salt on the tables. I got Gnocchi pesto. The gnocchi was soft more like mashed potatoes. Other gnocchi I've had and what I've made has had more of a bite to it. Don't think I'd get the gnocchi again. Bread service is 3$ for 4 slices of crusty bread and sun-dried tomato olive oil. It was useful cleaning up he sauce in our bowls. We got chocolate cake and tiramisu to go. When we got home and opened the bag we couldn't believe how small their pieces were. They better taste amazing.
came by during the devour indy event and had the chance to try a 3 course meal for $43. it was totally worth it! the portions were appropriate and the food and service great. i tried the bruschetta (not pictured) as my app, vodka pappardelle as my entre, and the chocolate cake as my dessert. the drinks, tax and gratuity are not included. i tried the hug spritz which was so refreshing esp for a dinner out on their outside patio. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant for a date night, girls night, simply just a solo outing in the city.
I quite like this place. But it was my first time trying their devour menu! I'd gotten the stuffed flounder which was good! However, it was much "mushier" than I thought it'd be. But it had good flavor! For the appetizer I got the fried ravioli. As someone who spent a lot of time in St. Louis I love a toasted rav! The portion was definitely shareable! But I ate all of mine. For dessert I got the mango mousse. It was so light! The perfect mango flavor too! Service was a bit slow, but it was super busy that night, and I was out with friends so we were happy yapping while we waited.
I would like to add that the restaurant did reach out to apologize and offer to make this one-off night right! That shows how important feedback is to them and I appreciate this as a customer!
We just tried Rosemary & Olive for the first time and wanted to share that food and service was excellent. The vibe of the old building is perfect for an Italian restaurant - feels like you might be in Italy or NYC. Some reports said it was loud but we had no problem. We started with cocktails - a Sidecar and the Rosemary. Clearly made with fresh squeezed juices. The Sidecar was a bit astringent for me but still tasty. The Rosemary was a nice balance of tart, sweet, and bitter. For apps, we had the mussels and marinated olives. Mussels were tender and plentiful - not a dud in the bowl. The toasted ciabatta was perfect for dipping the tomato sauce. The marinated olives were tasty - a basic app but good quality olives, nice herb flavor, and easy to share. We were very hungry so I forgot to take pics and just dug right in. For entrees, I had the salmon and hubby had the short rib ravioli. Both excellent. Remembered to take a pic of mine but hubby had already made a mess of his plate. Salmon was cooked nicely with a crispy sear. It came with cherry tomato topping (see photo), charred green beans (wonderful), and angel hair Pomodoro. I haven't tried the angel hair because I got full but brought it home and have high expectations. David gave the short rib ravioli high marks. Homemade pasta - perfect texture and flavor. Nice portion and "very tasty." We finished with creamy chocolate martinis for dessert. Yum! Our server, Annika, was delightful. I always have questions and special requests. She helped me choose a cocktail, checked with the chef on my special requests for the mussels andsalmon, and checked on us regularly.
I lost count on the number of mmmm's and ooooh's while eating here tonight. The food was simply amazing. My friend and I split multiple dishes to try the most we could fit into our stomachs. The Toscana bruschetta, tilapia, bomba spumoni and limoncello mascarpone cake were the standouts for me, but the prosciutto e melone and stuffed chicken were also very good and flavorful. The limoncello martini I had was also delicious! The inside became very busy and loud very quickly, but it's a cool vibe. We sat outside since it was a beautiful night and never once felt neglected. All the staff, and especially our server, were super attentive and kept the courses nicely spaced out so we never felt rushed. Definitely will come back to try more of the pasta dishes and desserts!
Love love love their pesto gnocchi! Little fluffy pillows of pasta heaven. The carpaccio though is why I keep coming back. It is full of protein and has a great refreshing flavor with the added lemon! Great place for Italian food. read more

Very romantic space with low lighting and cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a date! I was here for a conference and for our one fancy night out we settled on this (there seems to be an abundance of Italian restaurants out here). Service was good and we were seated immediately and checked in on at a good pace throughout the night. We ordered the... Burrata Caprese 5/5 - Just get it. Get it. This was so good. We shared this as an appetizer and it was a great start. Short Rib Ravioli 5/5 - This was so good. Would definitely order again, flavor was just there and showing up. Shrimp Scampi 4/5 The shrimp was good, however didn't leave much of an impression for us. It could also be just because the range of different flavors we got this just seemed pretty ok. Dessert!!! We shared a cappuccino cheesecake and it was actually really really good. Was super tempted to get the tiramisu but we were feeling for something new and this didn't disappoint. Since we did it family style we thought the price was really reasonable and if you were visit for a late lunch or early dinner the area looks like a great place to walk and peruse at the little shops. read more

Of all the Italian in Indy this is ok. Not bad but not a place I'd need to go back. Was here for Devour to try it out and we each ate off the Devour menu. The bruschetta was delicious. He got the stuffed chicken with angel hair and I got the lasagna. The tomato sauce for the lasagna was too acidic for my taste. The stuffed chicken was delicious. And the sauce on the angel hair was light and flavorful. The spumoni bomba was great as was the lemocello cake. Service was friendly and efficient. read more
What a nice restaurant. Went there with my wife and grown children for dinner. Nice atmosphere and our waiter was very polite and helpful. Everybody enjoyed their meal. We started with Calamari for an appetizer. My wife and I shared their Beat Salad. Wow! It was a nice well balanced portion with the right amount of dressing. Very well prepared. My wife, Daughter-in-law and Son-in-law had the Rigatoni Bolognese. Looked scrumptious and they all said it was fantastic. They ate it all. My son and I had their Pesto Gnocchi. Very well done with great flavor. The only thing my son said that it might have been even better if it was a little more al dente. The texture was unbelievable and they actually melted in your mouth. My Daughter had the Chicken Marsala. She said it was phenomenal. Give them a try if you want a nice dining experience. Next time in Indy we will go back. So glad we tried this place. read more

We have two toddlers, and finding a restaurant that is toddler friendly is kind of hard. We went to Rosemary & Olive for date night one day, and we LOVED it so much! We brought our kids the next time because it's definitely kid friendly & they have a nice outdoor patio. What we ordered: Hugo Spritz Peroni - on draft! Chicken Piccata Short Rib Ravioli Creste De Gallo with Shrimp Penne ARRABIATA - for kids! They can substitute a lot of their items to make it kid friendly Tiramisu - definitely one of my top 3 favorites! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! We cannot wait to go back and try the other items! read more
I'm always looking for a great Italian meal when I'm traveling, and I'm so happy to have found it here! I've sat at the bar twice during my visit to Indianapolis, and have had exemplary service from David. He also makes a great martini! Rosemary and Olive has a great menu of Italian classics, and they're cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the chicken piccata. Whether you're local or visiting, don't miss out on a great Italian meal at Rosemary and Olive! read more
This cozy Italian restaurant was our choice for Christmas Eve. We booked a reservation right when they opened and it filled up very quickly. The soft lighting and ambiance made it feel like I was dining at someone's home. I started with the beet salad. Omg, one of the best salads I've had. I could have eaten that only and be happy. For my entree, I ordered the gnocchi with pesto. Delicious. I would order it again. The pasta was tender, sauce was flavorful, and the portion was perfect. I also tried a bite of the short rib ravioli. It was okay, but the sauce didn't have much flavor. Our entrees did take a bit of time to come out of the kitchen but this is probably due to how busy they were. Overall, I would come back for the beet salad! read more

I've been meaning to try Rosemary and Olive after all the reviews, and I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint! The inside is nice and cozy, and if you remember Mimi's - it's pretty much the same interior. Our server was wonderful as was the food. I could have eaten just the bruschetta- it was delicious! My husband got the sea bass, which he said was very good. And I got the chicken piccata, which was good and filling. I definitely want to try the pastas next time too because they make it all in-house. read more

We visited last Friday for a birthday celebration and had a great experience. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere and a polished feel. The beet salad was excellent, and the chicken piccata with gluten-free pasta was as amazing with a generous portion of chicken. They also treated us to a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a nice touch. We all look forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu. read more
I've been wanting to try R & O for a while so suggested it when 6 of us needed a spot for dinner. Didn't know ahead of time that a non-profit was having a "give-back" night but it sure made the restaurant lively! We had cocktails and three appetizers...the baked ricotta was outstanding but as I'd read it did only come with 4 slices of bread so we ordered an extra bread service; rice balls were unique and delicious (3 to a serving); pomodoro bruschetta was nothing special...cold tomatoes fell off with every bite. For our entrees we had short rib ravioli, fettuccine alfredo, veal marsala, gnocchi with pesto, and chicken piccata. Serving sizes were ample and everything was served piping hot. We did forego dessert but maybe next time! We did sit indoors but there are also tables for two on the front sidewalk. read more
I came here with my husband for my birthday dinner. We appreciate how easy going the staff was (we need a lot of flexibility because we have a baby!) and loved being able to sit outside and people watch while enjoying our dinner. The food was very standard Italian food. Would recommend! read more
My wife and I were at an event nearby and we're starving after it was over. We walked up and we greeted very quickly by someone who I thought was the hostess, but later found out was the owner. She seated us outside and we had a super pleasant server Whose name I can't recall, but he told us he had been there for just over a year. read more

Quaint italian restaurant perfect for a date night or girls night out. I had the Crested Di Gallo with shrimp. It was amazing. The rooster crest pasta was perfect to soak up the rich, spicy marinara cream sauce. This pasta dish is full of flavor in every bite. I also had a side of green beans that were probably some of the best I ever had. The waiter was attentive and described the dishes perfectly. read more
We had a lovely evening at Rosemary & Olive during Devour! The restaurant is dimly lit and so cozy.. perfect for a relaxing dinner. Our waiter, Jimmy, was fantastic! Attentive, knowledgeable, and walked us through the menu while answering all our questions. I started with the wedge salad, followed by the lasagna, and finished with the bomba spumoni for dessert. Every course was absolutely amazing and full of flavor. Highly recommend for a wonderful dining experience! read more
This is a cute and quaint Italian restaurant on the east end of Mass Ave. The windows on the outside were very dim, it appeared closed but thankfully it was not. We were seated immediately upon entering, service was quick and friendly. After being seated our server tended to us, bringing waters and offering any assistance. My husband's friend recommended this restaurant because they have gluten free options. We had never been here before, so I was undecided on the menu. I asked our server for suggestions and she recommended the Cresto di Gallo as it was their most popular, stating that it came with shrimp but I could substitute with anything if wanted. I went with it and so glad I did. It was amazing! I loved everything about it - the ribbon style pasta, the sauce with a hint of spice, and with the shrimp....mmm mmm, so delicious! I thanked our server for recommending that to me. Pasta places always intimidate me with the portions, but this portion was perfect for me, I ate every last bite. My husband got the Alfredo and he said it was good, but he was upset at the portion saying it wasn't very much for him. He also noted that there wasn't any complimentary bread. My husband and I decided last minute on the Saturday of Valentines weekend to go out to dinner. We were able to look for reservations on Yelp and get a table for 7:15! Super convenient and easy. Now of course the area was packed so it was tricky finding parking. My husband dropped me off at the door and I got our table and sat down promptly. Our waitress was so quick that I had a drink and ordered an appetizer all before my husband came in. We ordered the burrata, clam with linguine, pesto gnocchi, and the lemon cake. The burrata was excellent. The tomatoes were seasoned nicely and the olive oil and balsamic were quality not to mention the burrata that melted into your mouth. Both of our meals were solid. I planned on getting the ravioli but they were out so it gives me an easy excuse to come back. The lemon cake was a refreshing treat to end the meal. read more

My BF is really adamant about our date nights and never am I upset .. so he calls me tells me if I can make us a reservation and of course I gladly do. We arrived 6 min late our apologies. Parking was a bit more of a job on a Wednesday than we expected. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Brandon who also took us to our seat. I noticed the ambiance was a good vibe and lots of people laughing and conversing enjoying their evening. We definitely were ready to enjoy ours. Julius was our server and such a pleasant and welcoming beautiful soul. Great smile and was very attentive. I always appreciate such good amazing people and that will definitely add to the experience. We ordered our drinks. He ordered a draft beer and I the French martini. Beer is beer in my opinion but my BF said it was good he always had it in the bottle so he enjoyed it. My martini was quite tasty. I definitely would go back for just that. We then ordered the calamari. Great choice! The pieces were good size and very well made. The breading wasn't thick and oily. It was light and flavorful. Definitely something I'd get just to even have that with a drink would be good. My BF typically orders for us, so he chose for me the Creste Di Gallo with Shrimp, while he ordered the Short Rib Ravioli. We sat there and Julius did check on us many times which was absolutely fantastic. Our food came out and piping hot just how I love it! We always share and try each others meals so I tried his ravioli first and wow my tastebuds were so euphoric, I had never had any ravioli before like this! He even raved about it as well. He then tried my pasta and he was happy happy because the sauce had a little spice but wasn't overly spicy...I thought the exact same because it definitely was flavorful with a little kick but not too much that it overpowered the entire flavor of the dish itself. We definitely enjoyed our meals. We would have loved to try dessert but we were so full so when we come back we will have to make room or save room. Julius was an absolute delight and I'm hoping he's there the next time we dine. I didn't look around too much because it was busy so I didn't want other patrons to think I was staring at them or listening to their conversations but it was a little restaurant with plenty seating and the lighting was nice. It was loud but honestly I'd rather it be that knowing people are enjoying themselves and being able to just be. We laughed we talked so we fit right in. Do not sleep on Rosemary&Olive! This beautiful restaurant off Mass Ave will be your new favorite Mediterranean restaurant! Came for an early bday dinner. The ambience was beyond beautiful, the manager was so friendly and tentative. Our server was amazing and made our experience superb! 10/10! To start: calamari (sorry not pictured) Dinner: Branzinopan-Sea Bass- with green beans and spaghetti with pomodoro sauce. Chicken Marsala with green beans and spaghetti with their linguine sauce. Not sure what to rate this place I think it's a solid 3.5/5. Here's why: Rosemary & Olives offers a simple but mindful array of Italian dishes. My first time visiting was better than my second. I ordered the chicken piccata and my husband ordered the fettuccini with chicken. We started with the baked ricotta. The baked ricotta was delicious but they only serve it with four slices of bread. If you want more bread you'll have to pay for it. Three dollars for 4 slivers of bread is insane. My husband's fettuccine was okay. He said it wasn't the best he'd had and his chicken had a fishy flavor as if they cooked it in the same skillet as fish. The chicken piccata was not your traditional piccata. The sauce was clumpy. The texture was extremely off putting. Fortunately for me they offered to make me something else. We ended the meal with a slice of Italian lemon cream cake. This cake is absolutely delicious and I will be back for it. There are better Italian restaurants downtown but if you can't get in one of them, this will do. read more

My Fiancé and I came here after our engagement pictures. We had the shrimp scampi and the spaghetti with meatballs which were delicious! We will be coming back after the amazing service and food tonight. They made us some beignets which were yummy and an amazing dessert. Thank you! read more

Let's talk about Mass Ave. I've always said it needed an Italian restaurant, and Rosemary & Olive have delivered. Stopped in on a rainy Thursday November evening and snagged a seat at the bar. This building has high ceilings and a big open space, so expect it to be a little louder than you may expect. For me, it wasn't loud but instead created an energetic vibe. I had the beef short rib ravioli for my dinner. The food was delicious, but the midwesterner in me would have liked to see a little more short rib in the dish, especially for the price.
