I haven't been to Italy yet but this place has set a high bar. The food is amazing. I haven't had a dish I haven't absolutely enjoyed. We always have to have a three course meal and a bottle. We always have top service here. It's one of many things we love about this restaurant. Eugenio has been one of our favorite server, he's is funny, charming and always so friendly. We went to Capri for the first time. We went for dinner during Devour Indy week. They offered a three course meal for $42. For your appetizer you could get bruschetta or a Caesar salad. We got the Caesar salad. You had a choice of several entrées. What we liked was that they had entrées with both red and white (cream) sauce. So they offered a variety, depending on your personal preference. We elected the lasagna Bolognese. For dessert they had a lemon ricotta cake with a berry compote. Only one dessert was offered on the devour menu, however, for an additional $4 you could select any dessert off their menu. The Caesar salad was excellent! The lettuce was fresh and crisp. All good pieces of the lettuce. It had wonderful fresh Parmesan shavings on top. The lasagna was also very good. It was a very large plate and we had leftovers to take home. They serve fresh bread at the table and it was wonderful as well. The service was excellent. Very attentive and professional. Our food was served promptly and the lasagna was hot. Our bill was accurate. The server boxed our leftovers at tableside, which we really like. The atmosphere is upscale and comfortable. It is very family friendly. However, it is not like Cracker Barrel as in comfortable and family friendly. Capri has white tablecloths and lamps on the table. The wait staff is dressed very nice and upscale. There were several large tables of friends and families. The families had children of all ages. So when I say comfortable and family friendly, I mean it in the way of " let's all gather around the table, enjoy good conversation, and eat a fabulous large Italian meal". All of this while sitting in a very nice, warm and inviting, environment. We are glad we found Capri. Happy they were on Devour INDY and we could try something new. Tucked away from the main drag of the north side, you'll find a delightful little brick building that is Capri. Though there's very little to bloom in winter, it looks like they grow vines along the trimmings of the building and over the pergola covered patio. The inside is still charming, with a wall of wines if you fancy a bottle. Our group of 5 came on a Wednesday night, which doesn't seem to be too busy for them. The experience of Capri is very luxe, having the most attentive tuxedo-clad staff who make sure your water glass never reaches a halfway point. Our server Alexis was helpful in answering all our questions. We had other staff who came around to wait on our table, but I don't recall their names. I found it impressive that staff who were bringing food out to the tables were holding the serving trays overhead! Now that's some shoulder strength AND mobility! For the first course of appetizers, I went a little basic which might have been a stumble on my part. I got a Caesar salad, which came with more iceberg lettuce as opposed to leafy romaine. The dressing was really good though, and adding more Parmesan and pepper on top always helps. I've heard before how the lasagna is incredible here, so that's the direction I went. The veal bolognese option is heavenly, with so many layers of meat and pasta and sauce. I would get this again in a heartbeat! For dessert, I went with an affogato. This was my first time at Capri, we went here for Galentines day after one of the girls showed us a picture of her lasagna from a previous visit I'm amaze how delicious everything was, we started with mussels and then moved on with the infamous lasagna, we got the lasagna with veal bolognese and it was *chefs kiss* I made sure to only eat half so that I had room for dessert, I got affogato and crème brûlée! Came here for the first time for a mini celebration for a friend. We had a great time. Definitely an upscale Italian experience and the friend we were celebrating used to live in Italy! I will note, you won't be waited on until your entire party is seated. A few of us got caught in traffic due to rain and I think our waiter may have been a bit flustered because of this. We were there right when they opened. The staff were all very attentive and our waiter was personable and offered his expertise on the menu. We enjoyed a bottle of wine together and started off with appetizers. The beef carpaccio was my favorite out of everything. I also love calamari and this one was tasty. For my main, I ordered a specialty menu item which was espresso crusted Australian lamb chops. It was tender, flavorful, and presented beautifully! The only thing our table wasn't super impressed with were the desserts. The flavors weren't quite pulling through but we still enjoyed them. I'd love to come back for another celebration sometime. Came for Valentine's Day and was not disappointed! Capri has an old Italian style from the James dean pictures on the wall to the moody lighting. We were happy to see they don't force us to use a Valentine's Day menu and everything we ordered was delicious! We started with the Chianti (bc duh), split a stuffed mushroom which was truly stuffed with pure deliciousness, and then had bolognese and a cream sauce mushroom pasta dish that i can't remember the name of. This used to be my favorite place for Italian. I still like it, but it was not perfection this trip. It may have been due to the very full restaurant, the busiest I have seen it, on a Friday night early December, so probably lots of holiday gatherings. Once we were seated, we waited 15 minutes bf a server came to our table. I ordered my typical, Rigatoni Boscaiola. The pasta itself was good, but was somewhat lacking sauce, that is until I nearly finished my dish, it was on the bottom. My wife ordered the Bolognese, presentation was amazing, but when she got to bottom of the entree, it was burnt. I tried the cannoli, it was good, not great. This is first time my visit wasn't top notch, so I will go back. I hope it was an anomaly. We have dined in the bar as well as using their catering for my daughter's wedding. The ambiance of the whole restaurant, inside and out is just lovely. Especially the bar area..leather and low lights, old black and white photos and Frank Sinatra playing. The Italian food is authentic and delicious. For the wedding tasting, the portions were huge. My daughter wanted a warm cookie bar instead of cake and even though that is not their normal fare, they created some delicious, fun options for her. The wedding itself was family style, which was very well received. There were a few missteps on special dietary restrictions but other than that, tilt was wonderful. I was surprised I've never heard of this place! We recently went for dinner with friends. I got to chatting and forgot to take any pictures. It has a cozy classic atmosphere. They had super comfortable seats. The lighting could have been better, but overall it was a great experience. My husband and I shared the wedge salad, rigatoni, and the pork chop so we could have a pasta and meat course. They split it for us, which was so nice! Our waiter Eugenio was amazing. So fun!! Our server was extremely patient as our table was chit chatting before we even looked at a menu. I was so involved in the conversation that I didn't snap additional photos. Okay 2nd visit after 2 years and Capri is still about the experience. Experience with service, taste and just everything combined! I loved my grilled eggplant which was charred to perfection with the right blend of tomatoes and olives. And don't get me started on the Gnocchi di Patate - beautiful potato gnocchi with fresh mozzarella, flavorful tomato sauce (doesn't taste like store bought tomato sauce - ahem! Just beautiful!!!! We had a delicious New Years Eve dinner at Capri. We had a large party reservation, but plans changed and it ended up being just two. They were able to accommodate quite quickly to downsize us comfortably. First things first -- food and drink were all delish! We began with the warm apple salad (sans bacon) and went on to both enjoy the butternut squash ravioli and finished with the lemon ricotta cake! Let me also say, as a Gin gal, the Bee's Knees cocktail was delish. I loved that there was ample parking, warm ambiance inside, and seemingly an upstairs (though we dined down.) The only less than ideal experience was the service, unfortunately. Our waitress seemed anxious and/or stressed--we waited quite a while to be greeted, our table candle was never lit (until we asked), the waitress never introduced herself (again, until we asked), and her energy seemed in a rush. It was a holiday evening, after all, which can get pretty hectic so I hope to dine again for a more rounded review, but service can greatly impact a dining experience, as we all know. Definitely worth checking out for delicious Italian and would be great for date night, business, or special occasion. They also seemed to have a good sized patio which is likely wonderful in the summer. read more

How have I never been to this restaurant before?! I never knew it was tucked back there off of Keystone, but I am so glad my coworker recommended it to me! The food was all so delicious. I could've used a few more clams in my linguini, but even once the clams were gone, the white wine sauce was so flavorful that I had to force myself not to devour the whole thing. The restaurant has a very calm, quiet, romantic setting, with classical Italian music and dim lighting (maybe a touch too dark). I have to compliment this place on their wine education. The server explained a few of their special wine offerings, right down to the soil composition. So kudos for educating your staff on at least some talking points on a few wines! As a wine nerd myself, I was pretty impressed; however, I could see others finding it a little pretentious or off-putting to receive a mini-lecture on the soil composition & root structure of the $100+ wines he was describing without having any idea of what we were planning to spend on wine. But I have criticized places before for having servers who know nothing at all about the wines they're serving, so I'd much rather see a place that maybe overdoes their wine speak than a place with servers who have no clue. I've been a fan of Capri for a long time and used to stop in and get a lunch to go when I worked close by. I think this place is a good choice anytime but it is especially great when you can sit outside. On this occasion I was here with my husband and we always seem to get the same thing because it always comes out amazing. This evening we got burrata instead of caprese and a stuffed portobello for our starters. I always get the Tortelloni alla Papalina it has all my favorite ingredients a nice cream sauce pancetta and mushrooms. My husband always gets the Linguine alla Vongole with white wine sauce. We went for the Easter brunch and going in, I did not have many expectations for it. In my opinion, brunches are often overpriced, lukewarm renditions of heat and serve options. However, the Easter brunch at Capri was everything BUT! The options were standard with some additional flairs (think: scrambled eggs AND frittata). There was ham and lamb as a meat station and their awesome Bolognese Lasagna as one of the pasta options. And for the kids, chicken tenders and mac n cheese (that adults would like too!) Our servers were fabulous. I liked how they had 2 servers per area and encouraged us to ask either one for whatever we needed. I want to note that there was no flagging down that needed to be done due to the servers always circling back to check on us. We were in the patio room and it was gorgeous with the amount of light coming in. We decided to make this an annual tradition and if they do the brunch next year, we will be doing it again. At $39/adult and $15/child, we thought it was a great price point for the food they offered. This was my first time at Capri and it was exquisite. My husband ordered the parmigiana with chicken and added angel hair pasta. I had one their seasonal items branzino wrapped in prosciutto, which came with fettuccine with a pesto sauce. Food was good as usual, servers were very kind and helpful. Only frustrating thing is that the hosts were too busy standing behind the host stand yapping to do their jobs. Capri is a nice restaurant, but even if it wasn't, the hosts should get up and hold the door for disabled and elderly guests. If you see someone struggling to get a wheelchair in the door, maybe stop having social hour with your coworkers and walk on over and help. This happened to me and then another guest using a walker. For what Capri costs it's lowkey shocking that their hosts are too lazy to try out some customer service. Again, nice spot, but the three high school hosts today should probably get more training or maybe just a new job. read more

Capri is so good and a hidden gem! We took our toddlers there and I was hesitant because it is family friendly but not many young kids around but our server Jason made me feel at ease and treated them like they were just other patrons. They make some of their noodles in house, which can't be beat. I had the spaghetti bolognese and it was a perfect portion and so good! If you are coming on a weekend I could suggest making a reservation. Since they are a family friendly restaurant I would like to see them add a changing table to the women's restroom. They are fairly inexpensive and a bummer to see they didn't have one when they do have families dining there. read more
