I'm mad that it took me 3 years to get to this spot that is only 5 minutes away from me! I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender/waitress, and I instantly knew that I had found a new dining spot in Westfield. My friend, and I got an order of calamari, which was delicious. They also got the minestrone soup and then for our main dishes I got the shrimp Florentine, which was the special of the night and my friend got the penne aurora. Both dishes were superb!! I loved the shrimp Florentine so much that I told the owner that he should make it a main dish on the menu lol we also ended the night splitting a tiramisu, and that was probably one of the best tiramisu I have ever tasted! The restaurant is a smaller restaurant, but definitely gives a cozy, old school, Italian restaurant vibe and I really love that. I especially love that they have a bar to sit at which is gonna be perfect for my solo dining nights. $20-30 So first off this place is not an Italian restaurant even though it's marketed as one. It's Sicilian. So had I known that I would've never went there to eat. Because the food is completely different. Also I'm a vegetarian, there was maybe three dishes on the whole menu that was for vegetarians. And my food was so bland that I had to add cracked pepper and add crushed red pepper flakes and then I had to come home and I had to season it with a little bit of garlic and onions and oregano, and some basil. Also, the server that we had was so not friendly, she was very much unwelcoming. She acted like that we were there just to bother her. We would ask her about something and she would walk off midway when we're talking to her and completely. Ignore us when we'd ask for something else. I tried to call and talk to the owner about the FOOD and the service and all his response was this is the first time he's heard anybody ever complain. And that the reason the vegetarian food is bland is because people have allergies. That's not a good reason to have your food to be bland. Because meat eaters have allergies too. First and last time eating at this establishment. I recommend that nobody come eat here if they want authentic anything. Unless it's just authentic blandness. read more

Pasto Italiano is a family owned restaurant located in a strip mall off of US-32 in Westfield. The inside is rather small, but don't let that fool you as the entrees pack quite a punch. Highly recommend a reservation if going on the weekend due to limited number of tables. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly on arrival. They offer complimentary bread served with butter, oil, and a mashed olive mixture. For starters, we got the arancini, which come with two per serving. Everyone at the table enjoyed them. For an entree, I tried the spaghetti bolognese. The portion was plenty big and had a good ratio of meat to spaghetti. Solid 7.5/10. This place defines the word "gem" when describing a restaurant. I grew up Italian, and for whatever that's worth, will attest to the excellent, authentic Italian dishes that sing in my mouth. You won't find wildly creative dishes here, but what they do do, they do right. Example: the meatballs are tender with a softness that shows careful handling and the traditional parsley, ground pork, beef and perhaps veal. My chicken piccata was a perfect balance of savory and tart, with the chicken carefully cooked to fork tender. I appreciated the generosity of capers and the extra step to thicken the sauce. Our server had a great personality but could have ticked up the service when she missed a few opportunities to refill our adult beverages. Don't be put off by the strip-mall entrance - inside is a cozy, white tablecloth ambiance that is small enough to require a reservation. Highly recommend! read more

This is a cute Italian restaurant in Westfield that people have said is the closest thing to Italy. I was on the north side in the area so I checked it out. It's located within a strip, but there is plenty of parking. Inside, I noticed how cute and quaint it was, all the workers were extremely friendly, and the vibe was relaxing with dim lighting. Tables with reservations had corks hold a name in place, i loved that. Being the first time here, we asked the server for recommendations. She pretty much said everything in the menu was good, the menu isn't overly large but there were plenty of choices. I got the linguine Alfredo with shrimp and my friend got the spaghetti and meatballs. We shared a wedge salad, and the server brought it out with each half on a separate plate, that's a plus for customer service! We were told all the sauce is home made. We also got calamari for the appetizer and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious. They also give you bread to start with and it comes with 3 different spreads- butter, oil and balsamic, and an olive spread (I forgot the name but it's famous in Italy). I'm not the biggest fan of olives but that spread in the bread was delightful. I also ordered an Italian margarita, my first time, and it was refreshing. You have to have reservations to get in because they are that good. The Italian restaurant is small, maybe a dozen tables and a bar. On Wednesday, there is live music, tonight a guitarist. We were heartedly greeted when we arrived. There is a friendly vibe from the minute you walk in. We met friends, sipped wine and talked before ordering. Wine is half price on Wednesday, so we had a bottle of their best cab, Josh Cellars. The menu is filled with traditional anti pastas, salads and pastas. Our server was friendly, described specials, made recommendations and kept water coming. She and the manager checked on us during our meal. Fresh bread comes with herbed oil, butter and an olive tapenade that is amazing. I could have made a meal on the bread. The Caesar salad is fresh and delicious with creamy Caesar dressing. I ordered Linguine with clams which came out in a buttery, lemon sauce loaded with perfectly tender clams. The linguine was delicious and I ate every morsel. My husband had the Salsiccia E Spinaci (spicy sausage with spinach and mushrooms over spaghetti). He loved it right from the start. The portions are generous. What a great place! Being out of town, I did not know anything about this restaurant. Considering it was a Saturday night and being hungry, my son and I wanted authentic Italian food. I called and the phone was answered by Tom within two rings. Told me he would reserve a table for us, just a party of two. When we arrived, he knew exactly who I was. As he said on the phone, a table was reserved. Considering we were both hungry, we ordered a lot of food. First came the house spread with a various spreads, made just right. We had an anti-pasta, Italian sausage in marinara with peppers..... phenomenal. Caesar salad with fresh dressing and white anchovies..... phenomenal. My Alla Marsala was cooked perfectly and so satisfying on an unexpectedly rainy night. Pasto is truly one of those rare hidden gems! My fiance & I had our first date here a few years ago, and it's now one of our regular go-to spots. Patsy + Kent, along with their staff are always so wonderful and the food is incredible. I 100% recommend calling in advance to check availability as they do tend to work more off of reservations vs. walk-in seating. The entire menu is BOMB - however, we are creatures of habit and tend to order the exact same things every time we go. I rotate between the Chicken Marsala & Eggplant Parmesan and my fiance almost always does the Spaghetti Bolognese + Spicy Sausage. Consistency is huge IMO & they are probably the most consistent restaurant we frequent. (Also, I think about the Romaine Wedge in my sleep sometimes.) What has happened to this place? It used to be wonderful. Awful service. Sub par food. Not acknowledged when we were seated for many many minutes. Watched as the owner just sat at the host stand of a not nearly full restaurant and didn't offer to get us water or drinks. The woman, presumably owners wife, just walked around and by us. Wasn't doing anything. Never asked if we would like a drink or apologize until we asked. Owners comment when we said how disappointed we were was "we were slammed and whatever". You weren't even nearly full. I'm glad they did remove my dinner as it was inedible. They won't be there much longer if this is how they treat customers. read more

We recently went to a private event here and the food was delicious! My husband is part of a men's golf league and one of the members just bought the restaurant from the previous owners (or at least I think that's the story!). From my understanding, the menu has not and will not change. The garlic butter was a great pairing with the warm bread. We both had the caesar salad and chicken parmigiana. The marinara has a slight kick that we really enjoyed. The chicken was cooked nicely and the breading had a nice crunch. I ended the night with the raspberry sorbet, which was delicious! Service was spot on. We've been to Italian House several times but we'll now be coming here when we want Italian. The food is much better! Highly recommend. read more

This is a cute intimate date night spot that has high reviews and even a waiting list. We tried to walk in buy due to all the reservations we were turned away because they couldn't accommodate it. Right as we were entering our vehicles the manager chased us down and made arrangements for us so I was pleased. We started with the calamari appetizer that was okay. Then I had a lemon drop martini that was decent. The food was bland and the server was not attentive. I think the food might be okay if you haven't tried authentic Italian food but I was quite disappointed for the price. read more

I was looking for some warm authentic Italian comfort food in the Indianapolis area over the Thanksgiving weekend & used Yelp to discover an absolute gem of a restaurant. You absolutely must make a reservation/call ahead or you will be waiting for a while. Once in the door, we were greeted by the owners & beautiful guitar music. Our table was waiting for us and shortly after were introduced to our experienced server. The specials seemed so yummy we tried them all with a recommended bottle of wine. We ordered carry-out, and everything was nicely packaged and on-time. Let's cut to the chase - two important things: 1) I found the food quality to be superior. The bolognese exceeded my expectations. Very flavorful and done properly. 2) Despite the outstanding taste of everything, I was disappointed by the portion sizes, especially the side Caesar salad. I get it that it's supposed to be a small side salad, but damn. I needed a magnifying glass. The same was true for the pasta portion sizes; adequate (I suppose), but disappointingly small. Pasta is relatively cheap, as is lettuce, so if they make improvements in that one area, they would win my business for a long time to come. read more

We found this delightful Italian restaurant during our recent little daytrip to this area. It was a very snazzy looking restaurant that had a pretty extensive Italian menu. They gave us some complimentary bread which was delicious and for an appetizer we got one of their big ole meatballs (they call it Patsy's Meatball) It was a basic big meatball and had marinara sauce and parm. Very good, no frills meatball. Great flavour in the meat as well as the sauce. For my main course I got their daily special which was a Seafood Four Cheese Ravioli. It had a white sauce similar to Alfredo but a little different. They had both crab and shrimp on top while the ravioli shells were stuffed with all sorts of cheese. Really, really good plate here that I highly recommend for seafood lovers and pasta lovers alike. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her dish as well. The service was excellent and restaurant looked really good. I can't wait to check this place out again next time we're around here. A+ read more

Had the shrimp risotto and 4 cheese ravioli with bolognese sauce and spicy Italian sausage. Food was amazing! Lots of shrimp and great flavor to the pastas. Server was attentive and met all of our needs. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back to try more dishes. Only thing that might be a negative is that the homemade Sangaria is more of a cocktail than a true Sangaria. We were informed it wasn't wine based but still something to be aware of. read more

This family-owned, local, Italian restaurant is one we'll definitely be returning to. On our way to a football game from several hours away, we called 30 minutes in advance to see if it would be difficult to be seated right away. The woman on the phone immediately asked for my name so she could reserve us a table! We were seated promptly upon arrival and ordered drinks right away. I happen to love Negronis so naturally, I ordered one at an Italian restaurant and it was fantastic! The bread we were served while we waited for our food was perfect and pillowy--served with olive oil and balsamic, garlic butter (to die for), and an olive spread. I ordered the penne with vodka sauce as the waitress said it was her favorite, and it did not disappoint. The sauce was perfectly tangy with a rich, but not too thick consistency and included little cooked grape tomato halves that melted in my mouth. You better believe our waitress brought a 2nd round of bread to sop up all that delicious sauce. My husband ordered the special which was a pasta with garlic cream sauce, chicken and bacon. This was not your average "Alfredo" by any means. The smokiness of the bacon cut through the garlic cream sauce well giving it a layer of flavor that was truly unique. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was fantastic as well. Despite being a full house and having only 1 waiter on staff, she was attentive, friendly, and quick to accommodate. We were visited several times throughout our meal by the owner of the restaurant as well, which explained why the place delivered like it did--superb service from the top down.
