    Cuban Bowl
    Stephanie L.

Tried Bae Latin Food at a Yelp event last week--loved it so much I ordered it again a week later! The Cuban bowl is incredible--generous portions of rice, beans, meat, plantains, and yuca fries for just $15. It's easily two meals! Each of the sauces that come with the meals are delicious too. I would purchase a bottle of the Bae sauce, if they sold it. We ordered via DoorDash, so I can't speak to the service or ambiance, but I'll definitely be ordering again. This place is officially in our regular rotation!

If you like Venezuelan food, or want to give it a try, head to Bae Latin. Dishes we tried: -Tequeños: a traditional Venezuelan appetizer of fried cheese sticks wrapped in a crispy pastry dough. -Plantains: caramelized so that the natural sweetness comes through and topped with cheese -Yuca Fries: I'm obsessed with these! Root veggies, similar to French fries but with a better crunch due to the thickness of the cut and frying technique. -Steak tacos: piled high with toppings like avocado and cheese and served in a flour tortilla. I prefer corn tortillas and not sure I'd order these again because of my own preferences. I'm game to try the chicken tacos There are also arepas and rice bowls that look really good! I didn't try them this visit, but would try them on another.

The establishment was very clean and as a gluten free foodie they had several options to choose from! I recommend arepas! The staff were warm and sociable.

they had a small line when I arrived however they were able to take my order and have it ready for me in a matter of minutes. Great customer service and the food is excellent too. I highly recommend this restaurant when you're in the area.

This place has a large menu of diverse food. Cashier was friendly. Place was clean. I opted for the BAE Philly Steak with fries and it was awesome. I got it to go and they packed everything up nicely. When I opened the bag at home, I saw I also got a bunch of different sauces to go with my meal which was great! The sandwich was big and smelled as good as it tasted! This my first first visit here, but won't be my last!

Bae seems to have a robust carry-out business. Seating is very casual with counter service. Be sure to check out options to add to your meal selection- pico, cheese, and a lot more. I enjoyed the crispy Arepo!

This is such a good find in central Carmel! I loved my Caribbean bowl which had such good flavors and was the most filling lunch I had. What stood out was the outstanding flavor of shrimp, with plain yucca & sweet plantain which was such a good mix. The hearty flavors added such a refreshing texture and touch to my lunch. We went rather late for lunch and we had the whole place to ourselves with the server helping us get what we needed. The menu is massive so you have good choices, definitely must try in Indy!

The food is great! The ordering screen makes it easy to picture what you are going to order. Other times that I've gone, the owner helped me pick dishes I'd like! Note that it would also be easy eat vegetarian here, I'm guessing it would be decent for vegans too.

Our Matters of Taste group came to Bae Latin Food for dinner tonight to try it out to see what the hoopla was all about. Everyone I have talked to has spoken very highly about Bae and now I can see why. Bae Latin Food specializes in Latin Street food, and they have a variety of items from arepitas to tacos, and they have corn pancakes. This is a high quality restaurant that is not like any other fast food restaurants. The ambiance is very nice and shows Latin history all over the walls along with decorative signage and attractive colors. When you arrive, you look at the menu above to see what you want and then you go to the monitor on the counter to place your order. It is like a kiosk, but this is a huge monitor. Once you place your order and submit your payment, you will get a text message on your cell phone saying your order is ready. If you order a drink, you go pick up a cup from the soda fountain and get your drink, or a cup of water. I would say my order was ready within 5-10 minutes, and the cook brought it to my table. I ordered the Caribbean bowl and the chicken tacos. Both were very fresh and tasted incredible! The texture of the grilled shrimp and fried yucca were fantastic! The fried Plantains were delicious! The chicken tacos are huge portions and the presentation is great! Both dishes were served with a selection of dipping sauces that were very good, but I honestly couldn't tell you what they were. For Latin Food, I was very impressed. The lack of interaction with the staff was unusual and different, but I can understand why it is set up that way. The staff was very professional and helpful when we needed something, and they did take good care of us while at the restaurant, so we were very pleased! I would come here again or get food to go, because the food is simply delightful and fresh! You definitely get your money's worth! I'm glad I can check this off of my list of places to eat. Come to Bae Latin Food for excellent street food! You can thank me later.

Disclaimer: I've spent a lot of time in Florida and lived there for a majority of my time on Yelp this past eleven years. I love Latin food. I have a husband who is from Costa Rica. Am I the authority on Latin food? No. Anyways I do know authentic when I taste it and this was pretty authentic! The menu is not small appetite friendly that I saw. You walk in and order from an ipad. At first I was just going to share my husband's bowl with him and get a side order for myself. Then I saw these chicken tacos and I changed my mind. I wonder if somehow they're available ala carte because after one I could not eat another bite. Hence the minus a star because an option for different appetite sizes is so huge for me. The service was fine. My husband and the guy working both seemed to appreciate being able to communicate in Spanish to each other which I think is the most wholesome thing. Loved that. My taco was amazing. It's not a Mexican tasting taco but it does taste like all of the tacos I got in Tampa from Spanish restaurants and I loved it. Fresh avocado. Delicious sauce options on the side. The chicken was delicious which is hit or miss sometimes. My husband's tostone looked bomb but he ate it before I could get a bite. The audacity. The outdoor seating was perfect. They also have Cornhole if you feel like doing that! It's a casual spot so no worries about dressing up or down. We will be back since we are trying out a new church behind it. I'm excited to find new things to try that remind me of home.

Delicious food and cool atmosphere. My Venezuelan fiance says the authenticity is spot on. Definitely recommend!

    Chicken Parilla
    Andrea P.

I've drove by here many times and finally stopped in on my home from work, and I'm glad I did! I ordered the chicken Parilla and it was delicious. The chicken had amazing flavor and all the sauces they brought out were delicious as well, I divided by bowl into sections so I could have a little of all the sauces! So good! I can't wait to go back and try their Bae bowls. This is a counter service restaurant and everything is made to order so you know your food will be hot and fresh. The people working are so friendly and glad to answer any questions you have about the menu, but it really is self explanatory. Every item has a description of what the dish is so you know exactly what you are ordering.

It's just off Allisonville and 96th, with plenty of parking. We could tell right away that there was only one staff member working the register and the grill and the tables (apparently other staff had called off), so we knew there might be a little wait. He kept apologizing, but honestly it did not take that long to get our food. And the food is such a #yum! (Because of a Yelp item, I had a free Pabellon Arepa - it had a really good size portion of shredded beef, beans, cheese, and, my favorite, sweet plantains.) But outside of that, my husband was with me and we ordered more food: The Don Luis bowl (chicken fajita with rice & beans), and a side of fried yuca. We also got a side of tequenos - the delicious little fried cheese sticks wrapped in a thicker dough. Everything was tasty, and we have enough leftovers that I have lunch the next two days! #yum #ReviewsByRL

I love that…read morethey have a whole vegan menu section -- Today I had vegan: al pastor, bistec encebollado, and tinga tacos, all with cilantro, onion & salsa verde. Each taco was full of flavor but they each differed. My favorite is the al pastor just because they really nail the spicy sweetness. It's a beautiful balance of flavors. The bistec has a really meaty/savory taste and I think best fills the craving for a taco. The texture is also very nice. The tinga was quite tomato-y but was still very good. I also had the salvadorian horchata which is very refreshing and not overly sweet -- also vegan because they make it with water instead of milk. I've tried many things over the years and never had a bad experience. They're my fav tacos in the city and I love ordering from them at the the local farmers markets, too. Definitely recommend!
