I work in Melville and have always wanted to stop in here for lunch. I am disappointed with my first visit and will not be back. It was not overly crowded when I arrived and I waited in the appropriate area to order.... and waited... and waited. I was the only one on line and not even a hello. After a few minutes I asked if someone could help me. I moved down to the salad line and the person helping me seemed pained that she had to make my salad. After the lackluster service I was astounded to get to the register and find out a soup and a salad cost over $17! Are you serious? I expressed my shock and was told that this "is a high end deli". Well I certainly did not feel that there was "high end" service. The quality of the food was mediocre and not worth the price. We stopped in here on our way through Long Island for a quick bite since it was the only place around. From the front it looks sketchy, since well not much around and it's in a plaza that looks like empty warehouse. But once we were pleasantly surprised. It's set up cafeteria style and it nice, sunny and clean. It has market feel. The menus are posted on back wall behind the deli. Most of the menu includes sandwiches and pizza. We order two paninis named after chefs. Paula Dean panini was grilled chicken with avocado, sun dried tomatoes and cheese. Chef Ramsey panini was chicken cutlet with roasted peppers, and mozzarella. We also ordered a Ruben grinder. All were made to order and delicious. The service was quick and friendly. We really liked the place. We will definitely stop in when we are in the area. Oh my god this place is amazing. Every time I come here I'm blown away. Anything you could ever want to eat is here. I often get an açaí bowl and egg sandwich. Both are made to perfection. They pay attention to my order and it is correct and delicious every time. The staff is welcoming and kind. I ordered a pizza pie from the here and was pretty disappointed. I saw they had a coupon to get a pie and soda for $10.99 so I figured I'd give it a chance. When I got there they gave me a hard time about the coupon and said that Penny Saver messed up and that I was supposed to be a Friday special only. I feel like that kind of stinks but if the Penny Saver messed it up then the conflict between you and them not the customers trying to get the price clearly stated on a current coupon. They wound up giving me the pie for the price on the coupon. This was a little annoying but not too big of a deal. When I got home the pizza was really disappointing. It just didn't seem like there was a lot of cheese on the slices and the pizza in general was pretty flavorless. I didn't think it was horrible but the three other people that I ate with really were not fans at all. Altogether this was disappointing. The Colosseum Kitchen seems like a nice spot and I used to go back there many years ago and remember enjoying it. We ordered a Romano chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers hero for a graduation party, it was absolutely delicious! the bread was fresh and the chicken tender and the Romano cheese just added a little extra flavor. It came with pesto sauce on the side which was also delicious we kept it and used it during the week on other meals . Definitely recommend and will order this again, everyone raved about it. This place sucks!!!!! To start, the food is okay, I have never had a problem with the taste of the food itself, but many, many, MANY problems with the service. We have given this place about 20 too many extra shots, hoping service would change. I work at a business down the block from this place, so it's very easy to order and expect speedy delivery. The delivery is always VERY VERY slow, and SOMETHING is always wrong with the order. The owner or some manager gave one of the employees an "order form" and promised we would NEVER have a problem with an order ever again!!!!!!!!!! BS!!!!!!! Whenever someone calls or goes in (which is a hassle, meaning someone has to leave work to add on stress to their day), the employees seem to not really care AT ALL that they have once again, messed up an order from the same customer. Not business people at Just so you know, I am not a vindictive person. But they wanted to charge me $50 a person when the price was $20 a person. From the beautiful cheese and crudités platter to the squash soup to the perfectly cooked turkey and stuffing...every part of the meal was delicious and delivered hot and on time. This is the problem. Went their to try a new place for lunch.. I ordered a tuna with lettuce , tomato on roll comes with a pickle.. I was enjoying the sand which I ate half and bit into the other half and chewed on something crunchy and thought it was my filling and when I spit it out I realized it was a piece of glass. Brought it to the counter ladies attention and they asked if I wanted something else I said absolutely not but they didn't do anything didn't offer to pay half of the sandwich back or even take the tuna off the shelf they were still serving it so that's why I gave it one star I would actually report them because they didn't do anything to satisfy or rectify what happened ....very unhappy with this will not go back read more

What a shame. I have been patronizing (and even catering from) this place for several years simply because it is right next door to my office. Food is eh....Service is very slow. And the workers seem to have a chronically bad attitude. But on top of that, I am done. Very overpriced offering "Fine restaurant pricing" at a "self service cafeteria" venue. Very overpriced ($2.70 for a ginger ale). And they just changed their policy so now they charge a 3.5% "upcharge" to cover credit card fees. They claim they "hed off for as long as they could". Either they must be kidding or they think their customers are complete idiots. Either way.... good luck to them. That is the straw that broke this camels back. ridiculous. I wont be back. Expensive, slow, unorganized inside (chaos) and nothing to write home about. You can get much tastier food, much quicker and cheaper at the Melville Deli not far from here. I pay about 9 for a turkey sandwich on rye here, which is about $2 too much. Order the food and wait. They don't tell you to go on the other line to pay while you wait. If you do figure it out, you wait to pay a while and then you wait more for your food, wasting your precious lunch hour waiting. Sometimes they yell your name near where you ordered, sometimes they bring it to the register. They need to be consistent. Want chips with that? $$$$$$$ And they put the chips far from the line to pay so you can't grab it while on line. Unorganized and inefficient. read more

We had been ordering from them a few times a week for lunch, but last week something changed and the Big BLT that they charge $11 for was terrible. The bacon that was always perfectly cooked and delicious was now half cooked and maple flavored. We gave it another chance today as maybe it was just an off day as it had always been superior to other delis in the area. Well again today we were disappointed and half the sandwich ended up in the trash. The bacon was again undercooked and they barely put anything on it, one half a piece of tomato. Wow the food here is so delicious. The macaroni and cheese was so so so so so delicious I had to eat it all. We also had the spinach and beet salad along with some type of wild rice with lentil and another side of grilled vegetables. So I learned of this "DELI" when our company used Coliseum caterers for a work event we catered for clients. The food was great with waitsatff elegant apps and a full liquor bar. Then our company used them for our company bbq rather than a caterer we used for years and what a great change! Brisket was insane and the ribs were the best ive ever had. This prompted me to visit Coliseum Kitchen which is no ordinary deli, with Pizza to sushi bar with a a sushi chef making it in front of you. The burgers and pastrami off the grill yummm:) Our office will either get food delivered or take the ride over from our broadhollow rd office. Ohh and with the hot weather I'm going for the chopped salad station getting a custom salad and an ACAI Bowl. Coliseum is a must visit. read more

I must say that I am not familiar with the Plainview store. They are serving food at our work building's cafeteria in Manhasset. I gave one star for the friendly staff, because they are nice and trying to do a good job. The food however is horrible. I don't know how they menage to mess up such easy to make food as mashed potatoes and grilled chicken, but they do. Practically anything I tried so far is on the edge of bad and horrible. The choices they have are limited and there are really few healthy items on the menu. Me and my co-workers have really been hoping that they will improve. read more

We were spsd to have our wedding at a venue, 5 weeks before our wedding they told us it couldn't happen. We were in a panic, searching venues and catering places. Everything was outrageously priced and honestly not that appealing... and then I found Coliseum Catering! Everything was perfect! Right from the start with my initial conversation with Susan, I knew we were going to be taken care of. They put us at ease and were so helpful. Even had party rental (chairs, tents, etc) recommendations. We ended up doing an "I DO BBQ" and were so happy with the results. The food was awesome, the cook and assistant were wonderful. Always checking in with us to make sure we were happy. They set up, did there thing, and packed up! Everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Place is an absolute RIP OFF. They are doing so many different things they don't know what the f*** is going on. Are they a pizza place? Breakfast place? Sushi place? Salad bar? Sandwich house? Acai Bowls are INSANE. This is the 3rd time I went in for a bowl, and every single time it is made perfectly. I've tried other food as well (for lunch) and every thing is so delicious. There is enough staff that you are never waiting. Prices are average according to what else is around. The service is just the icing on the cake. Highly suggest everyone become a frequent visitor.
