Out of the park! I recently hired Hawaiian Kitchen to cater our monthly lunch for 40 people at Wallace Eannace. My executives wanted to do a Hawaiian theme. Hawaiian Kitchen, based in Bethpage, absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the start, they were incredibly easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I had originally requested 2-liter bottles of soda, but since they didn't have them in stock, they proactively delivered individual cans instead to ensure our team had plenty of drinks. Now, for the food--it was phenomenal. Our office hasn't stopped raving about it! The Coconut Shrimp and Grilled Shrimp were huge hits, and the Angus Steak was incredibly tender. Even the Chicken Fried Rice was a standout, and all of their signature sauces were delicious. They also did a large house salad for us with the most incredible Ginger dressing. I had numerous people ask me where I found them, and I couldn't wait to order for their next small house parties or to pick up dinner on the way home. It was all so fresh and not greasy. We also ordered spring rolls that were so light and crispy, pineapple fried rice that was really delicious, and marinated chicken and steamed broccoli. If you're looking for reliable catering that people will actually get excited about, I can't recommend Hawaiian Kitchen enough. THANK YOU for making me look like a superstar! I love Hawaiian Kitchen. It's been one of my go-to spots for a while now whenever I want a solid & nourishing meal that isn't notably unhealthy. I usually get their BBQ Beef & Chicken combo and it always hits. The chicken & beef are sooo soft and grilled nicely with a sweet/salty glaze. The broccoli is steamed and salted which I much prefer over some mushy boiled broccoli as this one's got a little bite to it. Their steamed rice perfectly balances the flavors and the macaroni salad is so good and made in house. Also, their rice sauce is an elite sauce, haven't had anything like it elsewhere and it is so flavorful that I always ask for extras. I've also had their spam musubi: salty fatty spam, soft rice, a little sweet glaze wrapped in nori, very tasty; I usually save one for later. I've also had their calamari which is perfectly cooked every time. Hot, a crispy outer crust, and the actual squid is really soft and easy to chew, their paired sweet thai chili has cilantro in it which is a nice touch. Whether it's authentic or not doesn't matter to me, I always have a good meal here. read more

Ordered through Grubhub and everything was really good! Ordered the chicken and angus beef hibachi dinner and the steak was amazing! Cooked perfectly! The chicken was also good, but the steak was the star. Also got the crispy shrimp and BBQ beef and the shrimp was great. The beef here was good, not as good as the steak in the other dish. Also got the Hawaiian chicken dumplings were great. Love the sweet chili sauce! Will order the hibachi angus steak, the crispy shrimp, and the Hawaiian chicken dumplings again. Wow! Freshly made dishes. The Hawaiian Sauce- you could put that on a flip flop and I'd eat it!! Fresh veggies. Carefully diced chicken breast. I used to love going to this place. It was a convenient stop on the way home from work. After my job changed locations, I haven't gone as much, because it's now 20 minutes out of the way. Tonight, I went there for the first time in a while and was a bit disappointed. The quality of the flounder, shrimp, and BBQ beef is less than what it used to be. Even the style of cooking has changed. Everything was fileted and fried hard within an inch of its life. The pictures on the menu no longer reflect what you get. Musubi! Delicious. And you get 2 pieces with sauce! I was never a fan of spam but I'm telling you after trying it here I am in love. Additionally tried their BBQ Chicken and shrimp lunch. Very flavorful, broccoli cooked perfectly and Mac salad was a bit over cooked but no biggie. Flavor of the shrimp and chicken was spot on. They gave some kind of side of a spicy sauce. I want a tub of that. A real delight. Recently started doing poke bowls, have not tried those here but will probably next week. The kitchen in this place is enormous. I feel like they could run a full service restaurant here just haven't found the niche for that. Atmosphere is pleasant but after all this is a take out restaurant. Seems to be family run which is always nice to see. I think they are doing great with their menu as is and I would love to see some expansion into more delights. Idk why but i had my eye on the spam musubi for awhile and i don't even like pork - seriously. But there was just something about it that had me wanting to try it. And so weeks later i finally caved in and ordered. The verdict : spam musibi - a tad bit salty for me. However it def doesn't disappoint in the filling me up department. It was rolled in a ton of rice and i think it had some teriyaki sauce in the middle. It was surprisingly GOOD. Chicken tenders looked huge. I mean, it was. Chicken, shrimp & steak combo was yummy. It came w a side of broccoli and macaroni salad - which did not disappoint. I give it a thumbs up. My hub devoured his Salmon & chicken combo. He said it wasn't bad. Just reminded him of Hibachi style food. I just think the food to price ratio is off. Def on the pricier side for the amount of food you get, if you're asking me. I've already lost count of all the times I've been here! Stumbled upon this place about a year ago from browsing on Yelp looking for a place to eat. I don't know how "authentic" it is but it's so delicious I don't even care. I almost always get the Hawaiian grilled shrimp meal (shrimp, broccoli, macaroni salad, rice with 2 different sauces on the side - both are delicious, one has a little bit of a kick to it) but my fiance has tried their other items and never complained about anything. The meals are a perfect size, tastes relatively healthy and I am always full after it. They do have lunch specials (don't remember the hours) but they're obviously smaller portions yet still filling. Their macaroni salad? I don't know WHAT they put in it but I'm an ADDICT. The last time I went there, I had to get a separate small container (only size they offer as of now - can you guys offer a large size please?) of it for $3.99 (?) lol. Oh, so I'm addicted to their macaroni salad and my fiance is addicted to their Spam Musubi. He ALWAYS orders that on the side with every meal. I feel like it's a little bit pricey but worth it because it's so delicious. Whenever I go, it's the same lady at the cashier and she's always so nice and courteous. She actually takes an interest in the customers and listens to what they say. If I place an order to go, she'll give me a small cup so I can have a drink from the soda machine while I wait which I thought was really nice gesture. Very simple looking interior (kind of reminds me of a Chinese takeout place) but clean, well lit and spacious. I'm no fancy pants (prefer tattered shorts) and this was underwhelming. That might be ok for cheap eats but this was not a good value based on overall food quality & volume. The energetic lady took my order of the lunch specials which came with a side of white rice with soy sauce and macaroni salad. I chose a chicken and beef, only after did I see the outside sign that notes they have short ribs. I noted they had some specials were tofu was listed. I was able to order a side and paid a fair price of $5.00 for it. Well it wasn't something different to eat but, the chicken had fairly big chunks and there were some beef chunks too. Pretty good! Food that's on the healthy side compared to other grab and go type places. Staff is friendly. Menu is small but straight to the point. I had the Hawaiian chicken/shrimp combo and it was delicious. The Hawaiian sauce it comes with is good, not great, but good. I really loved the macaroni salad on the side, which is a shock since I'm not much of a mayo fan. We also tried the spam roll and while I do like spam, I hate seaweed so that was a miss for me. This place has been on my list for a long time and finally today was the day I gave them a shot and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner! Food was delicious, ordering online wss extremely easy through their site and our food was packed perfectly and exactly what we ordered. The lunch special wss good, just wish it was a bit bigger. I had the chicken and BBQ combo and it was so good. Chicken was not dry at all, beef wss flavorful and I was very happy with the amount of meat that was given too. The requisite dishes that I associate with traditional and non-traditional Hawaii aren't served here, so I can't really give them any points for authenticity. There's no Kalua Pork (not sure how they would dig an imu in the back yard), no Loco Moco and not even Poi on the menu. The closest thing to pork on the menu is Spam Musubi and that's a hybridized Japanese/American concoction. What you get are mainly what would pass as Hawaiian diner plate lunches similar to chain restaurant menus like L&L Barbecue, but more like a Chinese takeout. You get a single or combo of proteins (Beef, Chicken, Shrimp, Fish) with a scoop of mac salad, rice and some steamed broccoli. Very nice for a lunch box or a quickie dinner. The barbecued beef was very tender and flavorful though and the grilled shrimp had a fresh snap and tasty. I liked the Crispy Fried Shrimp very much with the sweet/spicy dipping sauce. By dining in, the shrimp came out hot and had that great crunchy breaded coating out of the fryer. Hawaiian Kitchen is great for what they offer which is quick, easy and different and I don't mind coming back for a convenient meal or a take home dinner. read more

Compared to other Hawaiian food experiences, this kitchen didn't really meet up to expectations. Maybe having my combo platter come in a partitioned black plastic container did it, but while the food was not bad, it did not excite me either. So against my better judgement I decided to try this place, so I did this evening. When I arrived the place was empty , nothing fancy. While I waited more to go orders than eat in. So I ordered the combo chicken , beef and a side order of bbq chicken. I have to say I wasn't really impressed it was a glorified Japanese take out. I wanted short rib but they didn't have. The food was ok, it had flavor but the beef was a little tuff. It really was like Japanese take out. Oh before I forget don't go by the prices on the Yelp pics, go to their website. Would I go again, yes. Maybe after this whole pandemic is over. They are very friendly and will answer all of your questions. Everything is prepared to order. I'm sorry, but this is not authentic Hawaiian food. This is slightly altered Chinese food. If you've ever been to Hawaii or California, and had real Hawaiian plate lunch, then you will know immediately. The macaroni salad was so bland, the chicken was tough, and white meat. It's usually bbq strips of dark meat. I don't think they had chicken katsu on the menu which is a staple of Hawaiian bbq, and there was no Hawaiian sun drinks. The first giveaway was when I saw the plate lunches came with broccoli. Sorry, but this was the first plate lunch I've ever had with broccoli. Nothing against broccoli, but it's not a thing with plate lunch. It was basically Chinese food with macaroni salad and they had like 3 Hawaiian posters in the shop. Unfortunately, it's just near impossible to find authentic Hawaiian in New York. Also, way overpriced. Spend nearly $60 on one full size meal, and two kids meals and an appetizer. read more

The sauces that they gave were delicious, one was close to a Yum Yum sauce from the Japanese restaurants, and another one was kind of a sweet soy sauce, but a little thicker. This place is local to me so that's definitely a plus. The food is great......they gave 2 different types of beef dishes (1 is a cubed and the other is a more thinly sliced grilled steak). The chicken and shrimp are also good, but the cubed beef is my favorite. All entrees come with a side of white rice, steamed broccoli and macaroni salad. All entrees are served with 2 different types of sauces that you can pour on yourself. They are quite tasty. Portions are pretty generous and prices are fairly reasonable. It's not a place with table service but there are 6 tables or so inside that can accommodate up to 4 people. If you're in the neighborhood, I would give this place a try. read more

I came here about 2 months month ago to meet up with a friend for dinner. We took advantage of a discount they have for 15% off when ordering online for pickup. The place itself seemed pretty basic and clean on the interior. Guessing this place was a chinese takeout beforehand. Also was skeptical about how authentic this place is; I can't imagine a place on LI offering 'authentic hawaiian bbq' like the website says. So we ordered two 'hawaiian happy combo' meals. They range in price from $14 to $16 and come with 3 types of meat, macaroni salad, broccoli, and rice on the side. The food was pretty good overall. The pieces of beef and chicken were pretty tender and the sauces that it comes with complement the meat pretty well. The food also tastes relatively healthy and clean; there isn't really any grease or anything to it. I actually wouldn't have preferred if the food tasted a bit heavier because this was my cheat meal, but this is the type of meal that I wouldn't feel too bad about eating during the week if I had to order out (accounting for portion size of course). The portion size was also fairly decent but I felt they could have given a bit more meat in the combo, as there wasn't an overwhelming amount of meat considering they put chicken, beef, and shrimp in there. The shrimp they used was pretty big, so props to them for that. The macaroni salad was overcooked though, and the broccoli was just steamed with some salt maybe. So the sides were a bit ehh. Overall there is really nothing Hawaiian about this place, but the food is decent and it's a semi-different take on asian food if you're in the mood for it. read more
