This is a fantastic neighborhood spot for Authentic Korean fare and excellent Ramen. Broth is brewed for 12 hours - no store bought packets here! Service was also excellent and hospitable. Great for date night or small groups. Parking lot is a little small but if it's full you can park in the residential side streets.

I have been back to Spoonsticks many times, and I always order the same dish. The Bulgogi BiBimBap is delicious and it never fails to satisfy my craving for bibimbap. I've also tried their appetizers such as the Spicy Bok Choi Salad, the Hash Potato Jeon, and the Karage Bun and all were excellent. Their Mochi Ice Cream, which comes in 4 different flavors, is a nice dessert to end that spicy meal.

One of the worst Korean/Japanese restaurants I've been to. The side dishes were fridge-cold, fine, I can overlook that, but the seafood pancake came out barely two minutes after we ordered, which already made me suspicious. Sure enough, it wasn't fresh at all. The batter was uncooked and mushy inside, and the seafood was the tiny, frozen kind you'd find in a supermarket mix. I couldn't even finish it. I attached a picture and you can clearly see the uncooked batter. We also ordered three ramen bowls, and the pork belly topping was dry, thin, and flavorless. Overall, everything tasted rushed and low-quality. Definitely not worth the price or calories. I'm highly suspicious of the amount of positive reviews this place gets. I will not recommend this place or return. In fact I will actively tell others not to come.

The ramen broth was very flavorful and delicious. Just the perfect combination of flavors. Service was great and the waitress was attentive. Parking lot is small and hard to park.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We've been coming since they opened and the food is consistently fantastic. And so is the service. The most attentive and friendly staff. They go above and beyond. This is one of my favorite places. It's not big, it's a smaller sized space and the noise level is perfect. They also place music in the background usually K-pop. Love love love this place.

The restaurant was great, the ambiance was nice, staff and food were even better. I would recommend this restaurant.

The best ramen I have ever had!! Love their vegetarian options was just there for my birthday in August

The food was great, I ordered the Galbi bibimbap 10/10. The wings and seafood jiang was also very good!

I've been here three times. The first two times were phenomenal. The last time I felt completely ripped. $20 a soup for a few shreds of beef and noodles, isn't it. My soup had 4 shreds of beef, tones of bean sprouts and noodles. The flavors are great but it's over priced for what you get, and parking is a shit show.

This places hits all the marks for me. Delicious food, great service and cool ambience. We got there early because we didn't have reservations. We were seated right away. We had the fried dumplings and they were yummy. We also ordered the Soy Garlic Korean wings. Outstanding! I had the Bibimbap with Beef Bilgogi. Our waitress stirred in the sauce and broke up the egg and pressed it into the sizzling stone. It was quite delicious. My husband had the same but with karage chicken. He said he thought the stone was almost too hot because it dried out the chicken. Even the waitress was reacting to hot it was when she stirred his and smashed it down to her the crunchy rice. It would have otherwise been a perfect dining experience. My daughter has the Spicy Ramen and she loved it. I would highly recommend and return again and I am still giving Spoonsticks five stars even though the chicken was a little dry. We can forgive that. :)

    Beef Bulgogi Lunch Box

Came in during the week and had our choice of places to sit. Note- their parking lot is SMALL and half of it is reserved for the other business in the strip mall. I can imagine during dinner on the weekends parking is rough and requires you to park down the side streets. We were greeted promptly with water and menus and service throughout the meal was very attentive. They place a pitcher of water on the table with water glasses, which is nice, however the glasses are extremely small, so we kept needing to refill. We ordered the Garlic Soy & Spicy wings to start. It's nice you can do 5 of each so you get to try both flavors. Was definitely too large of a portion for a lunch appetizer but glad we tried both. They were nice and crunchy and the sauces were flaborful. For our meals we had the Pork bun lunch special, , beef bulgogi lunch box. Pork buns came with fries and were really tender. The lunch box had so much food and the egg was cooked perfectly. The meal was really good and was more than enough food for 2- we took home leftovers for lunch the next day. Will definitely return for take-out or dinner.

Top notch Ramen in Massapequa. Definitely recommend to any ramen enthusiast and will definitely be visiting again. Flavor and quality of food key here with overall pleasant and authentic atmospheric restaurant vibe rounding out experience.

    Pork bao

I came here on a Sunday around 1pm. They even honored their lunch specials on the weekend. My friend and I split the pork bao and the seafood pancake (pajeon). The pork bao was very tender, surprised it had a mayo sauce on top, but still good. The seafood pancake was crispy, but a tad too much of the pancake and could've had a bit more seafood in it. I got the tonkotsu ramen and the broth was bold and creamy. Very good! They only gave two pieces of pork belly and they were paper thin slices which was unusual

I can't find any prices for korean bbq in nassau county. Does anyone know the cost? The only price posted was at kpot a new restaurant and it was $30 a person for buffet.

Spoonsticks does t have Korean bbq as far as I know.

Are u open for dining in or just takeout?

They were doing both take out and dine in when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

This time around we visited the Mad For Chicken location in Massapequa tucked in the Southgate Shopping Center. The space is a decent size where they have lots of table seating, a few tables for standing and bar seating. They also have two clean gender neutral bathrooms on site if need to be used. It's a great place to hang out with friends or for a super casual date night. The menu selection has most of the menu you would see at most other locations, but I've also noticed it depends on location what is available. Of course they have their famous chicken wings which was one of the items we chose to share. We got the signature wings in soy garlic. We love that the wings are cooked to perfection with a crispy outer coating and then a juicy and tender chicken meat on the inside. We also grabbed the crabmeat salad which was a big portion that can easily be shared between two or three people. There was a generous amount of shredded crab with tomatoes and greens well dressed in a sweet and creamy honey mustard sauce. The hubbs wanted fries, so we got an order of those too. Also perfectly crispy and not greasy at all. It came with dipping sauces of ketchup and spicy mayo. Service by the two girls in the was great making sure that every table had what they needed. Overall another great Mad for Chicken location and we would come back again.

First off, yeah its a bbq/ hotpot kind of joint. AYCE of course. I have to say the little personal hotpots they give us are cute. The broth choices doesn't seem to matter tbh. Eventually you're chucking all types of seafood and meats that will make your broth good regardless. The pot is a bit on the smaller side if you choose 2 different broths. Hoping the 1 flavor one would be bigger but its the same. Cause of the split pot inside. As for the choices it's pretty standard hotpot stuff. Nothing too crazy to write home about. The grill side was a bit on the disappointment. Sure they have "marinated meats" but when I went they just chuck frozen galbi on top of the marinated meat. Not sure if they didn't have enough time for prep but I felt like the workers are just throwing things in for us animals to eat regardless of flavors. The cook station and sushi station was probably the most disappointing stations of them all. Majority of the cooked foods were cold. you would assume theres some kind of heat light warmer or steam bath to keep the foods warm but nope... most of them were just out and about and cold. The sushi station was lack lustered... selections were limited. Just your average carb city and fillers. The sashimi were not appealing imo. Overall, i felt like this place maybe good for younger audiences or family outings. Kids will like it cause of all the different types of fried/fast food styles. Also... just a tip for some of you out there. If you see raw oysters and raw clams with ice cubes on them... it's for HOT POT to COOK THEM IN! If you want the legit ones goto the sushi station for them... DONT EAT THE ONES AT THE HOTPOT STATION! MOST LIKELY YOU WILL GET SICK IF YOU DO! I'm pretty sure their were signs that state that ...but saw some of these "adults" SLURPING AWAY before even making it to the table... and im like...bro is gonna be on the toilet for sure... SO yeah.. BE SMART! READ BEFORE STUFFING YOUR FACE WITH THE RAW STUFF!

I will preface this by saying I consider K-city a 5/5 for Long Island - probably a 4/5 if K-city was in Queens tbh. If i was in the Nassau area I default to K-city vs. Kpot! I mainly go to K-city for the hotpot vs. the kbbq/hot food selection. The bbq is okay but the grill itself is pretty small. The prepared food selection is also okay, includes both hot food & sushi but I mainly consider it as food to eat while my hotpot is getting ready (lol). The broths are very legit with the variety offered being spicy (mala with the Szechuan peppercorns), mushroom, pork bone, herbal ( I believe is a mix of pork & chicken + herbs), tomato and mushroom. My favorite thus far have been the spicy & herbal! I appreciate that the meats are also included in the buffet section as well so I can control the quantity as opposed to some other hotpot/bbq places where the meats come pre-portioned. I think the main drawback of K-City as opposed to Spring Shabu (my personal 2nd favorite choice in nassau) is definitely the veggie selection & quality. Having said that, the veggie selection is okay and has the main things I get like the enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, broccoli and noodles.

We ate there this weekend and had the most horrible meal! We made a few comments to the waitress and she quietly said to tell the manager. We had noticed that besides the sushi being tasteless and the seaweed wraps were like fibrous rubber that all the staff had changed. The spicy tuna had a consistency of creamed tuna and NO taste. The maki rolls were all rice and that tough seaweed. I spoke to the manager about it and she just nodded and said she would tell the kitchen staff. I asked if they had new owners and of course.... They had sold out a month ago!!! We usually would eat there at least once a month, sometimes 2-3 times. I cannot see myself EVER eating there again under this new management!! I'm heartbroken because all of our kids would come back to NY and "demand" their fill of amazing sushi. Our friends from all over would ask to eat there also. I now have to find a new sushi place. They have 27 appetizers, 8 lovely salads, ( the spicy Kani was a popular one ), 7 types of soups, 9 different teriyaki items, special rolls and some really good quality sashimi- I got the tuna, salmon and yellowtail. The fish, gorgeous - melt in the mouth, fresh, generous portions and the accompanying wasabi and ginger was very, very good. I love that the house salad came with plenty of sesame ginger dressing( photo); the miso soup was hot and delicious. I ordered the pink lady special roll and it was outstanding. Again, everyone probably heard me moan in Ohio. 9 different desserts including ice cream, Oreo cheesecake. They have the best shrimp teriyaki with 20 pieces of big and juicy prawns grilled to perfection with that aroma and a light but addicting sauce over it. 5) Loved the iPad to order which went right to the kitchen vs the paper handwritten do overs. 6) Loved the service - attentive, caring, very polite, alert! 7) Loved that they offered both a senior(65 plus) or a military with ID discount( both 10 percent). 8) Loved the free parking right outside the back door. 9) Loved the decor, the colors and the vibe with a very cute bar. 10) Loved the clean men's restroom. Very nice and peaceful. I will definitely be back.
