Love sitting in one of the private side booths when dinning as it gives you and your guest(s) that extra privacy for conversation away from it all. don't usually write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was so frustrating that I feel like I need to warn others. From the moment I walked in, the service was careless and unprofessional. The staff acted as if they were being bothered by having to serve customers, and every request felt like too much to ask. Politeness, attentiveness, and basic customer care were completely missing. The real disappointment, however, came when I ordered the steak. For the price I paid, I expected a full, satisfying meal. Instead, what I got was absolutely ridiculous--five tiny, baby-sized bites of steak that wouldn't fill up a child, let alone an adult who came in hungry. The portion was insulting. To make matters worse, the meat wasn't even cooked well. It was tough, flavorless, and clearly not prepared with any care. Restaurants are supposed to give you good food, fair portions, and service that makes you want to come back. This place failed on all three. They charged premium prices for scraps of food, delivered with some of the worst service I've ever experienced. I left still hungry, angry, and feeling completely ripped off. Nobody should have to pay good money only to leave unsatisfied. I would strongly urge people to avoid this place. There are countless restaurants that will treat you better, serve you real portions, and respect your time and money. Save yourself the disappointment--don't come here. read more

We went last night at almost 11 PM. I was thrilled to find a place that was open so late, but wasn't expecting too much from them. to my surprise, the service was great. The servers were thoughtful, funny and kind. The food was really good. The chicken Katsu was delicious. I loved the privacy of the rooms. Reminded me of a place from the 80s called Osaka. The servers are also very friendly, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I usually get sushi (spicy tuna is my fav) and it never disappoints. We tried Tai Show for the first time on Fathers Day 2025. The atmosphere is fun. Adults and children really enjoyed the chef's show while he was cooking our food and interacting with us. The food was great with generous portions. They even made special accommodations for one in our party who is gluten intolerant. We had them sing Happy Birthday to our grandson who is turning 10 years old. Servers were friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend Tai Show Hibachi in Massapequa. read more

Shared an classic eel roll, Ashley roll I believe, two chicken & did not share my lobster! That is the roll that is wrapped in soy paper. It's a delicious cooked appetizer. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation. We did not but was 6pm. Not a lot of people there. We were seated and then ordered appetizers and our meal. The service was the issue. It seemed like everyone worked together which was fine, no one came back to check on us and they started clearing the table before we were even done. Very unprofessional. Will not be back. read more

I'm sad. I'm sad because I live so far away from Tai Show. Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit for the first time in many years since I was in the area for work. It was a last minute decision and totally worth the drive from Queens. I wasn't sure if the staff would be the same...but many of them are. And they haven't aged. Something in the sake, maybe? Amazingly, they remembered me. I enjoyed chatting and reminiscing with John - one of the two sushi chefs that I'd always hang with. Frank (the other sushi chef) was off yesterday...as was his wife, Angie. The sushi was as good as I remembered. My mom and I shared the avocado sashimi and some tuna, yellowtail, salmon and a salmon/avocado roll. I had a piece of uni and another of ikura (both sushi). There aren't many places that I trust to order uni...Tai Show is the reason why I love it (after having a bad experience many years ago at another place). Uni HAS to be fresh. It was. I really wanted to eat more, but I was stuffed. Anyway, I'm still sad. Not sure when I'll make it back to Tai Show. Hopefully soon. read more

Haven't been here in sometime. Revisited and was blown away by the freshest sushi ever. The tuna and salmon appetizers I had were outstanding. The pictures don't do it justice. Had a delicious roll with salmon and tuna and yellowtail wrapped in cucumber . We left it up to the chef to make us rolls. The Sashimi was like buttery soft. Really delicious. Terrible and disappointing. I ordered 2 simple rolls and a piece of Ikura sushi. The rice was soft and mushy and not cooked correctly. It smelled and tasted like vinegar. The yellowtail was low grade. The Ikura was inedible and old, I had to throw it out. It was disgusting. People will eat anything smothered in spicy mayo but if you know good quality fish and how the rice should be prepared- you can tell this was not good. It's really hard to find good quality sushi in this area. We typically head north to Syosset/Woodbury for great high quality fish. Tai show used to be much better many years ago. read more

I've eaten here twice recently and will keep coming back. We enjoy sitting in a private booth, which is especially great right now- it has a door that closes so it's just you and your party. The Bento Box B gives me a little of everything, which I love- Teriyaki (I do shrimp), 2 apps, and a California Roll. I upgrade my roll to a Spicy Tuna roll, which they are super nice about! Tai Show is always on point with their sushi. They have little booths with sliding glass doors that are private. The only thing annoying is that when there are loud people in there it echoes throughout all the booths. The staff are always friendly and attentive. I have been there several times and I'm never disappointed with the sushi. My favorite rolls are the Tiger roll, Wayne roll, and Tom roll. The rolls are decent sized also. Sat down with a group of friends in one of the private rooms and it was a pretty good experience. I ordered two special rolls- the Francesco which is beef short ribs, sweet potato, avocado, cilantro, topped with Spicy kani salad and scallions. This roll was really good and I would say the best one I've had in a very long time. I also had the Rasheeda special roll which was shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, tobiko topped with avocado which was also really good. The only bad thing about special rolls is how expensive it is. I guess once in a while is good. My friends ordered the Tony Tiger which is salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, tobiko topped with seared tuna and wasabi mayo and scallions, the King roll which is salmon, scallop, avocado tobiko, topped with kani salad and tempura flakes which I tried and was really good. Also, the Louie roll which was shrimp, crab with rice rolled in cucumber was pretty interesting, in a good way, worth a try but I don't know if I'd order it.
