The seating area no longer looks like it did before. It seems more like a semi storage area now. Lots of small and large boxes filled an alcove. Don't know if this is a continuous thing. Service was quick and efficient! This place has lots and lots of different options and combinations. First choose your base choice of either: zucchini noodles, white or brown rice, salad or burrito with sushi rice and a seaweed wrapping. Choose your add on ingredients. There are lots to choose from. First time I've seen raw broccoli as choice. Didn't feel it was a right fit for a poke bowl. Raw broccoli can be rather hard. Then choose a sauce. I tried the Poke Sauce which I wasn't that crazy about. Also didn't realize it was a spicy sauce. There is 10 different sauces to choose from. Ponzu sauce is primarily made of soy sauce, citrus sauce and vinegar. Yuzu is usually made with citrus juices, honey and soy sauce as the basic ingredients. Then add any toppings ingredients that interest you. Final note: Come check this place out if you happen to be in the neighborhood. I came back from the Bahamas last week craving poke bowls bc the one I had there was unbelievably good made by the Bahamians. I never had a poke bowl from Long Island before so thanks to Yelp, I decided to try Chen's Poke. I built my own poke with the same ingredients that I previously had. Rice with salmon, crab, seaweed salad, masago and avocado topped with spicy mayo sauce. It wasn't as good as the one I had but still very delicious and it definitely satisfied my poke cravings. The fish and all the other ingredients were fresh and the large poke bowl portion that came with 3 proteins of your choice was perfect. I came back here 2 days later and got the zucchini poke bowl since I wanted something lighter but didn't enjoy it as much as the first time. The zucchini noodles became soggy at the end and it did not mix well with the spicy mayo sauce liquids as well as the spicy tuna. I'm just going to stick with rice as my base from now on. The only negative aspect is that you can't order double portion of a protein or topping and it only allows you to choose one portion of each. It can get costly if you get this everyday since it cost $17 a bowl but nonetheless, this place is worth trying out and probably one of the better ones in the area. read more

Passed by many times and finally tried on a weekday. Quality is good for the price. We ordered tuna lover with zucchini noodles and Hawaiian style with salad. The salad may not mix with dressing well at first, but worked out after closing the lid and having fun shacking it. It's my first time trying zucchini noodles and it's surprisingly filling (it may get soggy if waiting too long, better to eat it soon). It's always exciting to have a new lunch choice where I work, especially something that is healthy and what I enjoy. I'm trying to understand Chen's vision, what's with the coffee station in the dining room? Chen is also serving lattes? I don't want a latte but a cool drink other than Snapple or Soda. There are lots of Poke choices, a bowl with a rice or salad base and then your mix ins on top. I like to order the suggested bowl so I chose the Hawaiian Poke Bowl. Ok Chen, show me what ya got! My Poke is constructed with a rice base and topped with very small cuts of fish? Chen, hook a Poke brother up! The bowl was assembled nicely, it had lots of savory toppings that made it one tasty trip to the islands. The end result, I'd like to come back and try the other deelish Poke bowls. Man oh man, I'm crossing my fingers and toes that this place sticks around for a long time! The previous businesses (starbucks and Subway, etc) have all struck out, but Chen's offers fare that you won't really find too much of in the area, and for that, we need them! Not to mention it is delicious and well-decorated inside. There's even a parking lot. C'mon folks, poke and parking?! You should be lining up. I did the build your own bowl - small, and it was a filling bowl of deliciousness. Visit Date: July 9, 2019 I came here with my friend for lunch during my birthday week when I decided to take an almost week long break from WW and this was the healthiest thing I ate all week. If I was tracking I would have been happy anyway because if I chose carefully my poke bowl would have been 0 points. I also drank some bubble tea which I may have passed up when I was tracking. I need to be gluten free, I don't have celiac's but I do have a bad gluten intolerance and they were very helpful when I informed them my bowl had to be gluten free. My friend and I were here and the place was empty, I do enjoy it when I can score a restaurant to myself sometimes. June 2020 - I'm so glad they are open! (They were temporarily closed during COVID closures.) I ordered takeout from their website. When I arrived and parked in their private lot, I noticed that there are tables and chairs outside. I walked in and noticed a single set of table and chairs in a corner, then there was a clear partition in front of me that blocks off the rest of the interior as well as the counter where the poke is made. There was also hand sanitizer available for use on my side of the partition. I gave my name and the staff (who was wearing a mask) put the bag containing my order into a door on her side and closed it, then I opened the door on my side and grabbed it. Genius setup! I ordered a large poke with zucchini noodles as a base. I really like how thin and easy to eat their zucchini noodles are here. The large comes with three proteins - I chose three types of fish. Included in the price were various mix-ins and crunchy toppings. (I think 4 maximum mix-ins and 5 maximum toppings.) Great experience, large portion, everything was cold and tasty, and the price is comparable for NY poke. read more

Everything is super fresh, and I love their hygiene. I work for food service so I notice those things first. After getting my bowl I sat down to wait for my bubble tea. It was really comfortable and the first bite was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed the bowl all the way through, and I really love that everything was fresh because you could really taste it and it makes the meal so much better. After I wasn't as full as I would like but it doesn't weigh you down which I love. One suggestion I have is that they leave salt and pepper on the tables! Alright where do I even begin? First of all, this is a spot you could easily miss as it is a small business on the corner of a busy intersection. If you drive past it, you could easily miss the entrance to the parking lot so make sure you're slowing down when you get near. However, this poke place seriously is THE REAL THING. Alright, let me to start with their portions. The workers here really don't skimp out, they make sure that they are giving you your money's worth. If you love poke, if you love sushi or anything of that nature you need to try the Sushi Burrito with EEL. A lot of poke places that I've been to don't offer eel as a meat so this definitely is a selling point for Chen's Poke. They warm up the eel and it really blends everything together so well. Think of it as a big eel hand roll with your favorite toppings inside. Also if you're nervous about the sushi burrito not being able to fill you up, trust me, it will. I will say the prices could come out to a lot (I believe it'll be around $11 for a small and $14 for a large) BUT, it is soooo worth it. We've also tried their thai bubble tea, which I was skeptical to try at first but we honestly really like it. It doesn't really taste like thai to us, almost more of a milkier milk tea but it's really good. When subway closed down its doors a couple of months back, I was very ecstatic to find out that a poke bowl restaurant was going to open in close proximity to my house. I long awaited for the store to have its grand opening up until I spotted the "Now Open" sign near the facade of the building. The second time around, I ordered two customizable bowls for my sister and I. Mine consisted of brown rice, 3 mains (crab, chicken and spicy salmon), 5 sides (mango, corn, jalapeño, endamame, and scallions), Wasabi dressing and rice puffs for topping. The flavor of the salmon fish pieces and the rest of the sides were very fresh and appetizing. For the price of the bowl, which might be expensive for some, is compensated for the great quality and generous portions that they give you.
