Nova Asian Bistro is my go-to spot for all-you-can-eat Japanese food! They also have so many other delicious varieties to choose from, so there's always something for everyone. The restaurant is always clean, bright, and well-lit, which makes the dining experience even better. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and efficient. Even when they're extremely busy, they do an amazing job bringing out your food and drinks quickly and checking in on you throughout your meal. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend Nova Asian Bistro! read more

Almost perfect. The food was plentiful and fresh as this was a buffet where they bring food to you. The restaurant was packed for a sunday evening. The service wasn't spectacular but wasn't bad. All the rolls and the hot foods were top notch, have no complaints regarding that. Why not 5 stars? I've been to countless buffets and all buffets include dessert. Well, this buffet does not. If you want dessert, it's an additional charge. I just felt it was odd not to include the dessert because it seems to be an industry norm to do so for ayce buffets. Is it a deal breaker? Definitely not, but, just come prepared to leave without dessert or to spend a bit more just for dessert. read more

We went with my wife and kids on a Saturday night , had to find street parking which wasn't too bad but there was a line already so we waited about 35 mins . I didn't get a chance to confirm the cost ahead of time so that's my fault. We were seated by staff and my server wasn't overly friendly as I assume she was busy so I hurriedly gave her my order . The food came in a see t amount of time and I thought overall the quality was just slightly above average (for the kitchen items ) the sushi wasn't anything exceptional compared to other Long Island ayce locations. We ordered only one round of sashimi and speciality rolls and a bunch of kitchen items for my kids. Our main server never really came to check with us so we pretty much gave additional orders to the staff collecting our plates. No dessert on the menu unfortunately . Pricing : for adults given the selection I can accept the $38 price however it is Not worth the money if you do ayce for young kids . My boys are 6 and 9 and were charged $23.99 each and probably ate less than half the value of food . You can do à la carte instead . Service : eh see above Food : great variety but no dessert On ayce menu read more

This place just never disappoints. I mean all you can eat sushi and other dishes for a set price is worth it. And the food is great, like really really good. We try to come here for most big events (and we have a few :) ) and it's always a good time. I would recommend making reservations if you are going on some busy holiday or event. It gets packed. But they manage to make it work. Again, great food. read more

The food is yummy. I went on a weekday. It was $35 pp. the food is delicious but the service was eh considering there wasn't a lot of people there. It was kind of slow unless that was intentional between courses. What rubbed me the wrong way was that I asked for another seltzer and the waiter said that it would be additional charge... AYCE sushi but I have to pay for refills. Weird to me. It's carbonated water. I didn't know restaurants still did that but whatever. Really good food though. read more

I hate that I have to give one less star because the hostess and what I can only assume was the manager were so disrespectful when we were waiting to be seated. I came here on a Friday night with two friends at about 6:45 PM and the wait was about 15 minutes. They do not take reservations for parties under 5. My one friend had put her name down and gotten a number and right around the 15 minute mark, the hostess said a table was ready but called the number after us and sat the people waiting behind us first. My friend went up and said very loudly that we were there first and the hostess and manager both looked at and heard my friend but did not apologize or even acknowledge her. It was so disrespectful as a business to not even acknowledge or remedy it and left such a bad taste that my friend will likely never come back and it is sad because the food and table service were excellent. We got seated and immediately, the waitress wanted our order. We had to turn her away and just get us water first. Once we were ready, we ordered calamari (1 ring pp), money bags which are crab and cream cheese (1 bag pp), edamame, kani salad, sushi pizza (so good!!), sashimi and a bunch of rolls. We ordered two rounds and the appetizers and sashimi always came out very quickly. The rolls always ended up taking a lot longer so order those as quickly as you can. My favorite roll was the out of control roll. The fish was extremely fresh and we loved that the sushi rolls were rolled with a thin layer of rice! read more

All you can eat sushi is such a good deal. Defintiely come with a group so you can try a little taste of everything. The service was extremely fast considering the amount of food we ordered. They were slow to bring a few things out though, and waited last minute to bring some orders we wanted out when we thought they had forgotten about them. So if you order something, just remind them don't order again. We were a big party and the staff was a little pushy with how long we were using the table for. The money bags (crab ragoons) were sooo good! They have a big menu with lots of variety. read more

Asian all-you+can-eateria located in blue collar western Long Island near Queens border. While nothing was notable, same can be said that nothing was terrible. Sashimi and sushi were buffet quality passable, the cooked dishes were also acceptable. Good choice if you just want to eat some grub nearby, cone-heads style, massive quantities with a two hour window. Ideal for post-softball game, leg day at the gym, bowling night, or anywhere you take Barney Rubble; date night with your Boo, not so much. read more

If you love sushi I do highly recommend this location as they offer all you can eat sushi for 2 hrs as well as other small plates. I think the prices are very reasonable as well. I believe it's 40 dollars per person and you can choose as much from the menu. It'll probably be cheaper than ordering separately. Just make sure you finish your plates. So order as you go. Drinks are great and have a good selection of cocktails. I would honestly recommend this place for a date night or even large groups. It does get pretty busy but they do move fast. Service is quick and maybe not the friendliest but good enough. If you're doing all you can eat menu and another person is not you may not share your plate, and some how they know. I do recommend all the food I love their sushi pizza always a must get as well as their dancing dragon sushi roll. We also like their crab salad and their chicken fried rice. I find this being my go to spot for a sushi date and great for an inexpensive dinner. Their fried ice cream was so delicious! read more

I used to like Nova until today I ate their AYCE for lunch.. I had 20 pieces of salmon and 5 piece of tuna. Also tried various other raw fish appetizers like tuna dumpling and yuzu salmon. That was the only meal I had, I was too full for dinner. The fish was not the freshest and my stomach did not feel great. Don't know why but quality has obviously gone downhill. Perhaps need to raise the price? But everything is so expensive nowadays... anyways sadly I will stay away from the raw fish in the future. read more

The quality of the food is on and off. The bad is reallyyyyyyyy fishy, but the good is good. The filling to rice ratio is also really good! There's lots of variety and is super impressive with how cheap it is! The service is alright, everyone helps out. The ambiance is that of any suburb restaurant tbh. read more

Customer service overall was good! My favorite dish was the shrimp and broccoli (literally to die for) and the avocado salad. I was not a fan of some of their sushi options. I was a little disappointed with the sushi because a lot of their options are made with imitation crab, tuna or salmon which honestly, I didnt even know exsisted. You can ask them for options that dont have imitation but options are limited. They also had tempura options which werent bad. Overall would still recommend and go back. read more

Just had dinner there tonight with a friend. We were seated immediately and were quick to be greeted. The place was busy for a Monday night! We ordered bang bang chicken and chicken pad Thai. For sushi we got the Fantastic roll, Nova roll, Tiger Roll and the Signature roll. Very tasty food and we ordered just enough without feeling like we needed to be wheeled out. Website needs to be updated because it says $28.99 but we were charged $33.99. Might return with more people. *Photo credit to fellow Yelper Noelle P read more

Nova Asian Bistro...why. Just why. Yes it's a convenient AYCE "Japanese fusion" place that is affordable but at what cost? For extremely rude service and pretty appalling food depending on what you order (which is most of the menu). Like I understand our server genuinely hates her job and has no problem showing it, but you know you could always get a new job or at least not pretend to hate your current one if it pays the bills. As for the food, in my previous review I mentioned the sushi pizza isn't bad and I stand by that statement. However, some other items look like literal cat food and probably taste worst than it as well. A perfect epitome of this would be the tuna tartare. I'm pretty sure it was expired tuna from a can and I kid you not, it literally had a Pringle on top of it. A Pringle guys. Can we just remove half of this menu to simplify things? Another epitome of it was any of the sashimi (minus the salmon, ie the only one edible). The rest of them were literally slimy and absolutely appalling. Pretty sure one of the items gave me food poisoning, and the fun part is you truly can't tell which item it was! All in all, I definitely won't be back unless I want to be disappointed for the heck of it, just like the server and this job for her. read more

Came in for a quick dinner while in the area with my brother. I was impressed how busy it was and how clean it was. The employees are friendly. You have the option for AYCE and a la carte! We didn't have the time for AYCE and we also didn't know about it but we went a la carte. The service is fast and they have a huge menu. The mango Kani salad was sooo good and a huge portion! I got the dinner combo c and the fish was incredibly fresh. My brother ordered some rolls and sushi and loved it. It was nice in here and I wish we could've done the ayce menu. It's huge and definitely worth the money compared to a la carte. And like I said, the fish is fresh, which is a must at an ayce spot! read more

I doubt I'll return to this establishment. The experience was marred by a short-haired, tattooed bus girl who constantly hovered over our table, reaching past us without asking. She didn't even inquire if we wanted the bill; she just handed it to us. Dining here felt rushed--the staff didn't offer a choice between the regular menu and the all-you-can-eat option; they simply assumed we wanted the latter. I'm puzzled as to why this place is so busy; the service was quite rude. Our waitress was friendly but only stopped by to take our order we never saw her again . Meanwhile, the bus girl's constant hovering was uncomfortable and distracting. The sushi was good but it's good all over LI . read more

Have been wanting to try Nova Asian Bistro for a long time ever since they open in my area. Finally, my wife and I and my brother-in-law and his wife came here for dinner. We chose the all you can eat menu. We started with the apps, I had the Avocado Bowl, Avocado skin with Crabmeat inside, it was awesome, many other apps and sushi but the best was the Signature Rolls, I had the American Dream Roll, Shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with eel, avocado, black tobiko and eel sauce and the Pink Lady Roll, Pink soy bean sheet wrap with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, eel and avocado with eel sauce and of course many others. Too many to list. With all you can eat at restaurant, all the staff were attentive, polite and very efficient. It was a great experience. The presentation of the sushi was awesome so of course I took pics. Highly recommend this restaurant with a beautiful decor, bar and seating and very clean. Hope to be back soon. read more

2nd time here. Enjoyed the food. 1st order of spicy crab roll was amazing. Was a little disappointed with the 2nd order. Definitely could tell the same person didn't make it. Also order the rock shrimp. It was ok. Little bit too much tempura. Tried shrimp mei fun here for the 1st time. It was ok. Not use to the green peppers & the noodles seems a bit bigger than an angel hair. He ordered a Mai Tai, shrimp fried rice with egg & broccoli in garlic sauce. It was great! Will definitely be back. read more

Nova, Asian bistro is an all you could eat restaurant with waiter service. This is not a buffet, I believe it's $35 a person and you have two hours to eat and if you order extra food and don't eat it they will charge you, the quality of the food is mediocre at best, the service is fast and like other reviews they're not the friendliest when you say thank you which I did multiple times they never reply, the food does come out very fast, and since it's all you could eat, the portions are not very big, but you almost feel forced to fill yourself up because it's all you could eat, I don't think I will be coming back here read more

To get your sushi fixed and you want all you can eat this is the place you should go to. Although if you don't finish your food, they will ask if you want to bring it home for a charge because food cannot be wasted. So order what you think you can finish. The sushi pizza and the white truffle sashimi are my favorite . They don't take reservations so it's basically first come first serve and they have lots of options to choose from. Would definitely back to try out more items since I was in a rush last time. read more

At present, this is my go-to place for AYCE sushi, my wife and I have been here so many times, the place is decent, clean, service is quick, price is fair, lots of food choices. Unlike other AYCE sushi, here you don't fill out a paper on what to order, you just have to verbally order it from the wait staff. Wait time for your order is amazingly quick considering that most of our order is sashimi, sushi and special rolls. They don't skimp on the ingredients of your rolls, unlike some other places where the rolls you order are mostly rice and you could not even see the fish, crab meat or avocado. Food plating was great, when hand rolls are properly plated it looks like a work of art. They keep the place clean and pristine. Wait staff are always around when you need them. Food taste is exceptional. Restaurant ambiance is cool, they keep a subtle purplish neon light on which is not too strong making the place classy. I am definitely satisfied with out food experience in this place. read more

I've been here half a dozen times for dinner with family, always getting All You Can Eat. As someone who had had sushi 100's of times this place is always a good choice. In my personal opinion the fish is usually very fresh, they more through a ton of fish seeing as even on a Monday night this place is usually packed. The staff is always busy and in a rush so chances are one or two things you order won't make it to the table but we usually just as again. Everything comes out as it is finish, not all together but I actually like that. Always suggest getting the black pepper tuna, my siblings always get the salmon saying it's amazing! Yes, they will charge you extra if you don't eat what you order, but they are fair about it and don't mean if you left a few pieces. I saw someone write a review about how they thought they would be sick because they couldn't finish everything they ordered, but were told they would have to pay for it anyway. This rule is for people like that. Order a few things at a time, don't over order or you're responsible for it. Obviously. read more

Read all these amazing reviews and decided to give this place a try. Nova was not what I had expected..as a sushi fanatic this spot was totally sub par. My friend and I were seated in a loud crowded dining room filled with wait staff running around. The ambiance was terrible, we felt like we couldn't have a conversation as we were hearing everyone else's. Additionally the ordering system is like a typical restaurant. Once your wait staff comes you best be ready to order, they make you order quick and are not helpful with the menu. Once you place an order you can expect to see your waiter never again..having to flag them down to order more! Also the sushi was not good. Unfortunately Nova just was not all that I had hoped it would be, would not go back, would not recommend. AYCE: $35/person, for 2 with tip it was $45/person. read more

The AYCE menu is average at best. The selection isn't anything special. The sashimi is ok. It's annoying to have to berbally give your order as opposed to other AYCE places that have a sheet you can write down your order. The staff is polite, but seem to always be pre-occupied with each other and not very attentive to the customers, often having to wait a long time to get their attention. It does get crowded and very loud. I come here when I need a sushi fix and don't want to drive out to Kira Sushi. This place is 10 mins from my house. read more

Came here twice with the bros (about 3 - 4 years apart), and the food was superb on both visits. There's a good selection of appetizers, sashimis, handrolls, and special rolls. Most importantly, the rice to food ratio is stellar, so you get to actually taste the ingredients. On both visits, the service was extremely attentive and patient on our long orders. The scallion pancake is an absolute suprise because the sauce has a sweet onion curry taste, which differs from the traditional sweet soy based sauces.
