Small restaurant that we've been to twice since they recently opened over the summer! Great place to get your authentic Vietnamese food. There is plenty of seating and the staff are super patient and kind. One visit, we came with 4 adults and 5 kids for an early dinner and they were able to accommodate! Most tables seat 2-4 but they have a longer table and benches to the side to seat larger parties. Their food was also really good too. I love the bun bo hue. The Bo Luc Lac, spring rolls and fries provencial were a hit with the kids. Will definitely be back to try their banhmi and other dishes! read more

First thing first, atmosphere and ambience is so nice. Decor is like rustic vintage, not your usual Pho establishment. The customer service and staff were so friendly and attentive, service was quick. The food: The pho was authentic, flavorful and the perfect comfort food for the weather lately. The 4/5 star is only for the fatty brisket, felt like there was more fat than meat, which is just a waste. Add some chili oil if you like spice and the pho is perfect. We came here to support the owners for the new opening of this place. We heard they were only just been here for 6 weeks. They used to own and managed Bia Vietnamese which we frequently visited before as it was located in our neighborhood. There's a big transition to this new location. Name has been changed. Setting is modern. Decoration is fun. Room is airy. Bar is wider. But the warmth and service remains the same. We tried their famous oxtail soup, their lemon pork chop combo and the steak combo. Tastes are not disappointing. Not too flavorful nor less tasteful. It just hit the spot. Plainly how you want it to be. Price is affordable. Serving is shareable. We enjoyed our visit. We visited Phở Hanoi on a recent rainy Saturday. Pho Hanoi is the successor to Ha Long Bay, but is a larger space because Pho Hanoi expanded to encompass Ha Long Bay's former neighbor. The added space makes the restaurant more comfortable. Despite the connotations of its name, Pho Hanoi seems to serve Southern Vietnamese cuisine. Food: - Grilled Chicken Sandwich (Banh Mi Ga): $9.75; $10.59 with tax. Good. The chicken had a good lemongrass flavor to it, though the daikon and carrot slaw in the sandwich could have been more tart. We were puzzled by the side of slaw, which was relatively flavorless. - Beef Rib Pho: $16, with Beef Tendon, $2.50; $20.10 with tax. Could have been better. The broth leaned on the sweet side. Everything should have been cooked longer. The noodles were hard, and the meat on the ribs were tough, the beef tendon was hard. Other: There is 3% card surcharge. There are two well-maintained restrooms. The operating hours of the restaurant need an update. On the day of our visit, the official opening time was 12 PM, not 11:30 AM as posted on Google and Yelp. This review is mostly for their Banh Mi Sandwiches: 3 Stars but rounding up to 4 Stars for friendly customer service....and great wings! Pho Hanoi opened on 6/30/26 and replaced Ha Long Bay/Pho Island under different ownership. The new owners also owned BIA Vietnamese restaurant in Floral Park (now closed). Pho Hanoi has expanded this location to include two storefronts! It's a much larger space now, with a lovely dining room! There are a few parking spaces in the back but there are plenty of street parking available. On this first visit, this is what we ordered (for takeout)): -- Chicken Wings (10pcs/$18): dressed in a ginger, garlic & honey sauce, with extra sauce on the side. These wings were Excellent! Even though I did takeout, the wings kept it's crispyness. Great flavors. Get these!! Highly Recommended! (5/5) -- Classic Banh Mi Sandwich ($9.75): Visually appealing but not the tastiest. None of the ingredients really stood out. I asked for extra spicy, thinking I would get extra slices of jalapenos in the sandwich. There were no jalapenos at all but there was extra spicy sauce which overwhelmed the sandwich. Fresh jalapenos would have made a world of difference. (3/5) -- Grilled Pork Banh Mi Sandwich ($9.75): ditto to everything I wrote about the Classic Sandwich. I'd also add that the pork chop didn't taste the freshest. (2/5) Honestly, for a 1st visit, this was more of a 3.0 for me. But I don't want to be too critical of a newly opened restaurant. Excellent new Vietnamese spot that is occupying the old sports business. Definitely a needed addition to the area. Inside is wide open with several tables and bar seating also available. The menu is compact but full of delicious items. I had the oxtail Pho and it was sublime. The broth was Rich with flavor, but not oily at all. The big chunks of oxtail were braised to perfection, falling off the bone with Rich marrow inside. They have several local beers on tap along with several pan Asian bottled beers. Today was my first time dining here with my friend. It won't be our last. I ordered the beef pho with added tendon. My friend ordered the bone-in beef ribs pho and we shared a summer roll with shrimp. The service was very professional and welcoming. Everyone always had a smile and a very pleasant demeanor. The atmosphere was energetic and welcoming. The noise level was moderate. High turnaround. As soon as a table cleared out, another party was ready to fill its vacancy. My only negative was that the added tendon in my pho was very tough and hard to eat. Otherwise, everything was very flavorful and delicious. They didn't take a reservation for three, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. It's smallish with seating mainly at a bar and a long table, plus a handful of other tables. The service was excellent and very friendly from start to finish. The atmosphere is very informal and the soft music was sort of Indie, but I heard Don Mclean singing "Bye, bye Miss American Pie ...." This was the end of a very rainy and windy weekend, so maybe that's why they didn't have the Coconut Curry Soup or any of the bubble teas on the menu tonight. However, we very much enjoyed most of what we ordered. The only item to avoid was the spring rolls appetizer because all you could taste was the fried dough wrapper. On the other hand the pan-fried chicken and mushroom dumplings were a clear winner ... imagine a large pan-fried wonton stuffed mostly with a lot of fresh chicken (there wasn't much mushroom in our serving). My son's oxtail stew was soupy, but well prepared, the meat soft, and had several veggies. My wife's chicken phõ (very thin rice noodle soup) had lots of fresh chicken chunks with veggies, and my vegetable phõ was likewise tasty and had fresh veggies (e.g., carrots, bok choy, scallions). The only wierdness was the choice between either beef or chicken broth ... vegetable broth was unavailable for their vegetable phõ. I had never tried Thai iced tea before, and enjoyed it, but it was more like a milkshake than tea. It's usually about five years in between times I've been to Vietnamese restaurants, but this one got several raves on Yelp, so I tried it, liked it, and added another exotic cuisine to my limited culinary repertoire. read more

Had to give this restaurant a try once I found out they were open. The spring rolls were different, it was shrimp and not pork which was still pretty good. The beef pho was good and you can taste the authenticity. The shrimp and spring roll rice vermicelli was ok, I felt as though there was much more vegetables than noodle so I couldn't taste anything other than that. The beef cubes were probably the best dish I had here so far but it needed a little more sauce. The fish sauce wasn't too strong, it was mild. The Vietnamese coffee was great and so was the lemonade. The service was very good, she was nice and accommodating and the food came quickly. The ambiance was cute and clean. read more

I ordered spring roll for my appetizer. I asked, "Can you please help me cut them in half?" She said, "No! Cut it yourself!" "Can I get an extra plate?" She again said,"No!" Is she even in the service industry? On top of essentially no service, the soup was blend and portions are small for the price. I do recommend checking out this spot. Stopped in with my six year old daughter to order some banh mi to-go. The new restaurant was beautiful! I really kept looking around at all of the beautiful decor. One issue was they still didn't organize everything from the renovation and there is a bunch of stuff they don't know what to do with just strewn in front of the west facing window. The service was fine and cordial. As we were only ordering take-away we didn't have much face to face with the staff, but I observed them being very friendly with the patrons dining in. We ordered the pork banh mi, chicken banh mi and the shrimp summer roll for take away. Also ordered Iced Vietnamese coffee to drink while waiting. The iced coffee was fantastic; sweet and strong. A big thumbs up. They do not make the bread for the banh mi in-house, but it was still good. Not great, but certainly good. The lemongrass chicken was delicious, but there wasn't enough protein. The ratio of protein to pickle was very cheap. The picked carrots and daidon were nice but could have used less pickles and more chicken. They were very light on the cilantro, too. Def need more cilantro. The pork banh mi was very similar to the chicken banh mi; too light on the protein and cilantro. The flavor of the pork was fantasic, just not enough of it. It was on the spicy side. Great flavor. The shrimp summer roll has the same issue; not enough protein. The flavors were there, the dipping sauce fantastic, plenty of herbs, but not enough shrimp. I will be back again hoping for more protein and cilantro... Next time we will dine in. I would rate this restaurant at 3 stars, but being that they are brand new and still working out the kinks, I will round up to 4 stars with the hope that the next time I stop by, they are a bit more generous with the proteins... read more
