Went here for a Mother's Day dinner and everything was delicious. We ordered a variety of Japanese Tapas and it felt like a feast. Sashimi was fresh and there were plenty of options for land lovers. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

I was really impressed with ocean code. The fish here is incredibly fresh and the food overall is good. If you check in you get a free beer or soft drink. Easy because I always check in! I sat at the sushi bar and the food came out fast. My friend and I ordered sushi specials with a salmon hand roll and ended up ordering the toro scallion which was the show stopper. I'd definitely recommend it here!

Food was so yummy! One of my absolute favorite sushi spots. Fish is so fresh and the creamy udon is to die for! Recommend almost all the dishes on the menu, minus the poke bowl which was lacking flavor a bit! Space is clean and modern as well!

Haven't had sushi this fresh in a very long time. Finally found my new favorite sushi spot. Will definitely be back again

Really enjoyed our dinner at Ocean Code! My fiancé and I treated my bestie for her bday dinner here. It was quiet for a Sunday evening and stayed pretty empty throughout the entire time we were there. We did the check in for a free yuzu lemonde which was delish! Tasted like moshi. We ordered a bunch of food- three premium sets which came with 6 nigiris and a toro truffle handroll, a sashimi platter, the go north and ocean fair rolls, and a bunch of hand rolls. We reallly enjoyed everything, the hand rolls had seaweed that was super crispy and hefty! Wish this place wasn't as far of a drive because I'd be back more often!

Delicious restaurant in Carle Place! We came here for lunch and enjoyed their hand rolls, chirashi bowl, and udon. The space is beautiful and well spaced. The decor is modern and create a great atmosphere for your dining experience. Food is made with high quality ingredients. Parking is easy with a huge lot. The price is moderate. I would recommend to give this place a try!

The ambience is very nice. It has a sushi counter and tables for seating. The service was fine. I was in the mood for some sushi (specifically nigiri) and decided to give this place a try. The only option I would try is the premium roll because thats the only sushi with great flavor.

Toro Truffle Roll--black truffle oil is drizzled on top of the Toro (fatty tuna)
    Gail B.

My favorite handroll was the Toro Truffle, which tasted like I was having a party in my mouth. The fusion of the toro (fatty tuna) and the black truffle oil really hit the Unami (savory) spot. It literally melted in my mouth! I asked for "1/2 the amount of rice" to get a larger sushi to rice ratio and to cut back on carbs. The only disappointment is that they do not make brown rice sushi, like the one my tongue touched at Mikado in Greenwich Village. Although it is not traditional to make sushi with brown rice, its nutty flavor and chewy texture lends some Unami flavor to blander or leaner fish; like yellowtail, halibut and crabmeat. I will come to Ocean Code Handroll Bar again, just to get the Toro Truffle handroll. I could eat that all day long. Yelp check-ins get an offer for a free pint of Sapporo beer or a glass of Yuzu Lemonade. The beer, IMHO, best counteracts the richness of the Toro Truffle. Service is quick, and be sure to tip because the sushi chefs do a magnificent job.

Visited with one other person and ordered quite a bit -- every dish was well-prepared and consistent in quality. The filtered water was a small but appreciated detail that set a positive tone for the meal. Food highlights: * Ika Geso Karaage: perfectly crisp with light batter. The onion tartar sauce added a creative and balanced touch. * Fries: straightforward, nicely cooked. * Sushi 10 pc with Salmon Hand Roll: fresh, well-cut fish with clean presentation. The salmon roll had especially excellent texture -- the fish was fresh, slightly sweet, and pleasantly bouncy. * Toro Truffle Roll: standout roll with a great mix of fatty tuna richness and chewy truffle. Generous truffle, which was also appreciated. * 3 Rolls (Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail): the yellowtail, minced with scallions, had good flavor and texture. * Spaghetti Mentai Aglio Olio: clean, not overly oily, with a subtle spice from the mentaiko -- very well-balanced. Each guest receives an individual plate of ginger and wasabi, both served in generous portions. The ginger leaned on the sweeter side, which complemented the fish nicely. The Iced Yuzu Lemonade was refreshing, bright, and an excellent palate cleanser. Overall, this restaurant demonstrates strong attention to detail -- from the quality of the ingredients to the way each dish is presented. Fresh fish, balanced flavors, and thoughtful touches throughout. Highly recommend.

Loved the vibes, food, and drinks! The server was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu. Honestly, this is some of the best Japanese food I've had so far!

Handroll Sushi Bar...fun concept. Just had to check this place out and thanks to Yelper Chun M.'s review, I knew I'd be in good company. Yelp check in got us a free Yuzu Lemonade! (Note: menu doesn't say but the lemonades were all carbonated). We ordered the strawberry lemonade, Yuzu one and Lychee. All three were delicious and I didn't mind the carbonated part but I wish it was disclosed. Onto the food, which is not just hand rolls: Appetizers: karaage and potato croquettes to start. Both were really good - crispy and super light. Perfect sharing appetizers for our party of four. Entrees: 5 Handroll combo consisted of scallop, tuna salad, spicy tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. All were made one at a time. So each hand roll was presented to me after I finished the previous. The waitress was kept really busy. But she was very nice about it. :-) - creamy udon with mushrooms and topped with a poached egg -- very creamy and Delicious. Totally recommend. Not overly rich. - Chirashi and tuna sashimi a la carte were great, very fresh! I totally - recommend the uni as well - it's from Hokkaido! - Lastly the salmon and ikura don was superb. Generous helping of ikura and loved the sauce that was mixed into the rice. It was a complete dish, not too sweet and a great value. We were too stuffed for dessert but there were a few things to look at, maybe next visit.

    Uni hand roll...

Grabbed a quick lunch today at Ocean code. The sushi restaurant in a strip mall on old country Road specializes in hand rolls for lunch. I had two hand rolls and an eel bowl. The hand rolls or some of the best I've ever had. The eel bowl was good, but probably wouldn't get it again.

This came with rice, salad, 4 pcs California roll. 3. Clam kalguksu (hand pulled noodles), savory broth with plenty of little clams still in shell. I've had better, but this wasn't bad either. All of the above came with miso soup and a variety of veggie banchans (radish, pickled jalapeños and water kimchi). Service was fine, the place was actually quite busy with take out and dine in. However, this will be my absolute last time at Kotobuki in Roslyn, as someone who's been countless times. We came hungry and ordered relatively quickly. We waited at least 30 minutes for our Kani salad which was surprising, since it's in most of their dishes. Unfortunately, it was inedible. The only thing I can compare it to texture-wise is the crinkle paper they put in gift bags. We sent it back and had to wait again to get a menu and reorder. We were surprised there was not a care from the waiters to make it right. They also mentioned that everyone had been complaining about the Kani and did nothing about it. Our sushi took an hour to come out, and my friend rolls were incorrect. She mentioned it to the waiter and got her food taken back to correct it. When she got her new, correct order from our waiter, not only was the order still wrong, the plate was super dirty and a hair was on her plate. At this point, with the lack of service, attention, and inedible food we called over the manager who apologized and offered to make the new rolls himself. He did it quick, and though it was a nice gesture, at this point we were so put off from the hair we couldn't finish our meals and were ready to leave. They comped the Kani salads (which we sent back) but to our surprise nothing else was taken care of. I wasn't expecting a $0 bill, but to pay over $50 for a pretty horrific meal and experience also rubbed me the wrong way. Do yourself a favor and support other Japanese restaurants that have the fish quality, affordability, and attention to customers that Kotobuki lacks with their new turnover in management.
