Not a ton to choose from but two things here are eye popping delicious. The signature garlic shrimp platter is amazing and out of this world good. Grabbed it to go and included two huge white rice portions plus awesome macaroni side. Shrimp with shells was chefs kiss great. Can't wait to grab it again. I've also enjoyed the Kona lattes which are really really great. It's so hard to find first class Kona around here and it's a real treat, especially on cold winter days. Interior is nice. There's a cotton candy machine too. Lots of smoothie options!! Traditional Hawaiian spam dishes on the menu but I'll make a hard pass (after trying them in Todd Rundgren's restaurant, it's a do not stop scenario). Nice service, great vibes.

Hawaiian Ahi Bowl (Large $16.99) - The sauce is Mayo based. But look at all the onions :(

I randomly ended at this place on their grand opening day and I hate to do this to a business that just opened today, but I want to share my honest review, so that you know what to expect. I wish there was a Yelp review or any review for me to read before coming here. I was tempted to give a score of 1 star, but the staff was super nice and tried to be super accommodating, so I'm giving it 2 stars. ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** I really, really, really wanted this place to be good because as soon as I saw their menu on their website, my friend and I were ecstatic that they had Hawaiian shrimp. If you've been to Hawaii and had Giovanni's Shrimp Truck or any of the shrimp trucks in Hawaii, you could probably start imagining how their garlic shrimp tasted. I will rip off the band-aid off of expectation now and tell you that it's nothing like it. Upon seeing and entering the restaurant, you could see that the place is really cute! Right at the entrance, there was a claw machine and they have a cool cotton candy machine that makes cotton candy in pretty shapes. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. We got the following for 2 people. Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp (Large for $16.99) - There were not that many shrimps and there were a few tails. You read that right, shrimp tails with no shrimp. They charged us full price, so I complained to them and they did apologize and say that it was all they had left. So, I told them that they should have not sold it to us or not charge full price if there wasn't enough. So, they gave me some of the spicy garlic shrimp. - The spicy garlic shrimp was slightly better, but overall the shrimp was mushy, like it has been sitting in the sauce all day. And the rice that came with the sauce was mushy. - I noticed that when you order, they don't cook the shrimp dish order fresh. It's already cooked and they just serve it as people order. So, maybe that's why the shrimp was mushy. Or maybe this was the setup only for the grand opening since they assumed that it would be busy? Hawaiian Ahi Bowl (Large for $16.99) - As soon as I ate it, I had to think for a second about what I was tasting. Then, I realized that it tasted more Mexican than Japanese flavoring. It tasted like they put some taco seasoning in it. - And, there were so many tiny diced onions. So many! - The rice for this dish was less mushy, but not good. - If you want to good poke bowl or ahi bowl, ask me and I'll tell you where to go nearby. Mango Smoothie ($5.99) - My friend actually wanted the avocado smoothie, but they said it was sold out. And, when I asked if they had soda, they said that whatever drinks they on the menu is it, which was various smoothies, lemonade, and juices. So, we both got the mango smoothie that didn't taste like mango at all. - Another customer asked them what their base is for their smoothies and they said ice cream, so maybe they didn't put in enough fresh mango? Service was super slow, which was understandable since it was their first day, but it was too slow when they were simply dishing the food and not cooking it to order. I'm sad that this place wasn't good, but I'm willing to give this place another try when they have had a chance to work out their kinks because this place has so much potential. So, I'll be back and will update you again. Tips: - There is only street parking, but usually it's not that hard to find parking. - For the claw machine, you have to use tokens that you get from the register. They are 50 cents each. - Also, for the cotton candy machine, you have to pay with cash, so if you don't have any cash, you could pay at the register with a card and then they will help you get it. - There is seating, but it's more bar style, meaning when you sit, you'll be sitting side to side to the other person. There was one regular table for 4 people, but it seemed occupied. - As I mentioned in my review, there is no soda or water, just whatever drinks they have on their menu. - They do sell 100% Kona Extra Fancy coffee and fancy sushi rice called Hokkaido and rice from The Rice Factory in NYC.

U'i Ui Combo (Garlic Shrimp Ui Ahi Bowl), U'i 1*Musubi, lychee tea

A sweet local gem more people need to try! This is my first encounter of any true Hawaiian food in the Bergen County area and I'm glad to have it close to home. My first experience I had was the U'i combo - Hawaiian garlic shrimp & Hawaiian ahi tuna, plus a side of spam musibi and lychee tea. It surely went above my expectations and left me more than satisfied. I couldn't get enough of that ahi tuna and had to make it the star of my next round at U'i. A huge coffee drinker, and their Kona Americano did not disappoint. The space alone feels homey and welcoming, and the owner is super sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend and will be back to try more of the menu!

The food was amazing. This local Hawaiian hidden treasure is sure to delight! Very clean, friendly and welcoming. This cheerful venue with many dishes, bubble tea varieties and soft serve ice cream is sure to delight! Owner Cecilia will treat you like royalty!

I paid $16 for this, are you kidding me? I'd rather pay $1000 to go on a flight to Hawaii and walk to the nearest gas station for poke than order this again.

BTX Cafe - Lychee Oolong Tea

Y'all have no idea how much it bums me out that NJ doesn't have many good boba shops. Luckily, I…read morelive in one of the best parts of the state--about 9 miles away from NYC--so I can just hop on a bus and have access to more options! Anyways... I still like to shoot my shot with places around here because ya never know when ya might hit the jackpot. I found BTX Cafe on Yelp. The interior is small and simple, but beautiful! It's bright, with tons of natural light, and has a modern, minimalistic Japanese-inspired design with light wood furniture and neutral colors. There's also wifi and outlets, which is always a win. The menu is a mix of both coffee and bubble tea, with the usual favorites: milk teas, fruit teas, slushes, espresso, and cold brew. Prices are a few dollars lower than most other cafes, which is definitely a huge plus. I'm not into overly sweet drinks. I prefer a very strong tea flavor, so I order mine with the lowest amount of sugar possible and light ice. The staff is friendly, and they make drinks pretty quickly. What I tried... MILK TEAS: Pearl Milk Tea ($5.25) Oolong Milk Tea ($5.25) These were a big thumbs down. They were wayyy too milky, and the tea flavor barely came through. I was disappointed. FRUIT TEAS: Passion Fruit Green Tea ($5.75) Mango Green Tea ($5.75) Lychee Oolong Tea ($5.75) The fruit teas were better--refreshing, with a stronger tea base. The oolong was toasty and nutty, and the jasmine green tea was sweet and floral. As for the fruity flavors... I don't think they use real fruit puree like some other boba brands. The passion fruit and mango tasted similar and I almost couldn't tell the two drinks apart. Both lacked that signature tangy, tropical kick and tasted more like artificial syrup. Thankfully, the tea helped even it out. Out of the three, the lychee oolong was my favorite. It was the most balanced! The tapioca pearls were actually the highlight-perfectly chewy, bouncy, and soft. Your taste buds might enjoy their drinks, but mine didn't love them. A bit of a letdown since the prices are lower than its competitors, but maybe that affects the quality. I liked the lychee oolong tea enough to come back for just that. Perhaps the coffee is better? The hunt continues...

Tried the matcha latte and really enjoyed it. The matcha flavor was really present and love the creaminess of it which is just how I like it. Took a sip of my parents lavender latte and OMG I am in love!! One of the tastier drinks I've had in a while. Really love the floral taste of the lavender but it wasn't so overwhelming that it felt like I was drinking soap. It was so good Would definitely be back just for the lavender latte... wait scratch that, I DEFINITELY will be back. And this time I don't want to share lol And I'm also excited to try out their other drinks cause they had a lot of unique and interesting offerings. Another great Java, where the chocolate drizzle and foam made it a memorable selection. Besides Liquid Gold, I ordered a slice of their Chocolate Marble Cake and it was....AWESOME! Moist, firm, pleasantly sweet, and was a perfect complement to the Brain Juice. Thank you, Cafe Tesia, for making this stop worth the time. Now, I see why you're Yelp business page has a 4.8 rating, and I'll definitely return.

I tried the chicken sandwich, chicken Katsu Bowl, Korean corn dogs, matcha boba, and Misugaru latte. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich was great. The chicken was seasoned well and fried to perfection. It was still nice and moist inside and the spice level was pretty good. I could've done with a bit more heat, but I prefer things to lack a little heat than to have too much. The doughnut buns were nice and soft and added a doughy sweetness to the chicken's crispy and savory. The slaw on top added some freshness. I really enjoyed the sandwich. The chicken Katsu Bowl was very good too. The chicken was different from the chicken in the sandwich, but it was just as flavorful and moist. The Korean corn dogs are good. On par with all the other Korean corn dogs I've ever had. We got half hot dog and half mozzarella. Honestly I enjoyed the mozzarella more and will probably get full mozzarella next time. The drinks were pretty good too. I tried the matcha boba and Misugaru latte. The matcha was alright and I liked that they were pretty generous with the amount of boba they give. The Misugaru felt like a pretty unique offering; I haven't seen it much. Prices are fair and the service is quick and friendly. I'll be back.
