This place is amazing!!! How can anyone say anything negative about it with all of the options they have?! Their salad bar is huge, very similar to a subway style of mix ins (only much better quality ingredients), the guy at the counter was very nice. It was overwhelming how many options there were - omelettes, a hot bar with roasted vegetables, mac and cheese, grilled vegetables, stuffed sole, meat options, vegetarian options, Italian classics, a sandwich station, a bakery section, I wish I lived close to this place! The customer service was great, the guy at the checkout was very friendly. My husband's sandwich ticket was lost so he waited 20 minutes for a panini, the guy at the checkout was very apologetic and gave us a bunch of free desserts as an apology. Oh, Coliseum Kitchen, where do I begin? Unfortunately, you are the only "deli" within delivery distance of my office. I quote "deli" since a real deli does not run out of whole wheat bread, wraps, and/or rolls. You see, we here at the office are slightly health conscience and because of that, we sometimes prefer whole wheat carbs. Time and time again, I call and place an order only to have a call within a half hour stating you "ran out" of something whole wheat-related. I understand running out of sundried tomato wraps but whole wheat? Then there is the issue that is your pizza. Why oh why does the cheese constantly stick to the top of the box? Why oh why is there always at least one slice that isn't quite like the others? We constantly have to perform pizza surgery on Fridays, just to make it look edible. I hate pizza surgery, but I love pizza! Your salads....While large and tasty (is that what she said?), lack real dressing. Let me explain; your "Caesar dressing" is a hybrid of Caesar and honey mustard. I either want one or the other, not a mix of the two that makes for something I cannot define. Also when one of us asks for croutons on a salad, and the other asks for tomatoes but no croutons, why do you give the one with tomatoes 100 croutons and none on the one that actually asked for them? Last, your soups. Chicken noodle soup should be a nice, hearty mix of three things: Chicken, Noodles, and Soup. I would think these three components are easy to bring together in a pot. Each time we get your soup, there is either no chicken or a whole chicken leg. Then sometimes there are noodles, other times there are NO noodles. Sometimes I feel as though I am eating broth with some depressed-looking veggies tossed in to add color. Coliseum Kitchen, with a menu as large as yours, you would think you would have it together by now or make your menu smaller. Half the foods you offer are never tried by anyone and are just a waste to you and your bank account. Visited for a breakfast, Whoa!!! The staff is a discombobulated mess. Here is where the cliche' Chickens with their heads cut off came from. What's hysterical is that they all appear to be really befuddled and nervous. My egg sandwich on a wrap was a mess. I asked for them to grill it, but no they had to do their own way and "Press" like a panini. I received with eggs and cheese squirting out of every direction. Where is Chef Ramsey to throw this shit back in their faces? This is also the only deli which charges $1.25 for the "free coffee with an egg sandwich" before 11:00am. I like this place. Down the block from my work, it's convenient with ample parking and seating. The staff is pretty friendly and the food is usually great. I had a chicken cutlet sandwich on 3/24/16 and the cutlets were so fresh that steam was coming out of them... Mmm and so moist! The boy who took me for an early lunch had a BLT hero and it had a generous amt of B in it. We ate both our sandwiches with haste. The price point is a bit high, but it's convenient. There is some confusion with where to order when it's busy... Is there a certain area for certain things? Hmmm I just go to the register by the rolls since I get a sandwich and that works out well. This place is gross. First of all, the colors and lighting are all wrong. I felt like I was in a high school or hospital cafeteria. I ordered an omelet. It took pretty long considering I was the only one in there at the time. Then I ordered an iced coffee. They are clearly too cheap to purchase iced coffee cups, so it was served in a pepsi paper cup. Classy. As I walked out, I noticed the fruit was all moldy. Who knows how long it had been sitting there. My omelet tasted fake. Probably egg beaters and not real eggs. The bacon was microwaved so it was dry. It was not cheap either. A platter with toast and home fries cost me about $8 bucks. I can get a delicious, fresh omelet at my work cafeteria for under $4. Coliseum Kitchen is basically a whole food court wrapped into one! It is overwhelming going there, because the menu is so large. You can get salads, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, pizza, pasta, I can go on! They even have a huge drink cooler and a huge selection of candy and chips. I've been here several times and everything I've had has been pretty good. The burgers are decent, the pizza is surprisingly on point, and the sandwiches are HUGE. HUGE. Everything here is frozen. OK, maybe not everything, but anything that they can order pre-made and frozen, it's pre-made and frozen. They're completely unapologetic about it, too. When you order delivery from them for a number of people, you get your food in a box from one of their frozen food deliveries. I've received boxes of frozen chicken tenders, other meats, anything you can imagine, it's frozen. It should be obvious from the ridiculous variety of food they serve that they can't possibly be making things fresh every morning, but in case there was any doubt, well, these are the facts. I've been part of group orders many, many times from this place to my office. They always manage to screw up the simplest omelette orders. I'm talking about 1 or 2 items in an omelette, that's it, and they still can't get it right. Wrong type of cheese, wrong ingredient, no cheese... it's crazy. Oh, and for some reason it's cheaper to get an omelette with bacon and cheese than just bacon, riddle me that! They also screw up other things, sandwiches, etc. When you call, it's like everybody is seeing their POS system for the first time, somehow. The other problem with their omelettes is the eggs. I don't know what kind of funky egg they're using, but it's dilute and too pale yellow to be real 100% egg. I called and they claim they don't add milk to their eggs, but there's got to be something in them, even if they're just watering them down, because there's no way eggs look like that, it isn't natural. I've made myself, and ordered from many restaurants, hundreds and hundreds of omelettes and I've never seen eggs of that color and consistency. read more

Stopped by this place for lunch after checking out of the Hilton up the road. Loved the fact that they had so many selections from sandwiches, pizza, salad, burgers. They basically had everything I was craving it all smelled and looked so good. I was in NY so I had to try their grandma pizza. Two slices and a drink came to 8 bucks. The pizza was amazing, highly recommend the grandma slices if they had any. If I knew about this place sooner I would have tried more of their food during my stay. I've been coming here for about two years now when I travel here from out of town. This is close to the hotel I stay at but has such a wide variety of items it's worth coming nearly every day. I generally come here for dinner where they have several meal options ready to go along with a myriad of deli items. If I'm in a rush, I'll go with something on their hotplates; otherwise I am quite partial to their reubens. The disco fries are pretty awesome (not quite poutine, but close enough when you're not in Canada proper). But by far my favorite thing here are the raspberry crumbcakes. They are truly amazing and I once bought 40 of them to take home as I wasn't coming back for a while. The technically aren't from here, but CC treats them better than any other local restaurant around that carries them. They aren't dry nor do they keep them over-refrigerated. I suspect my addiction keeps their inventory fresh, but still, they keep them properly stored in plastic containers for take away. They have a selection of various drinks and beer as well. This restaurant needs a lot of help. Upon entering food is presented nicely. Not one employee greeted me or asked how they could help. After I found out what kind of soup they offered, the woman was unable to locate a laddle. After four employees searching a laddle was washed. There is a lot of businesses struggling right now to hire employees. This establishment has numerous employees standing around socializing and not eager to work or help anyone. This business would benefit by taking the time to properly train their employees how to best serve their customers to help run their business. read more

Decided to ignore the low rating and hit this place up for lunch while working in Long Island. Wow, I'm really glad I did. I got a simple chicken cutlet melt with Swiss instead of American and ask them to put hot sauce on it. I was expecting a wimpy sandwich but got a really hefty portion with plenty of chicken. The tomatoes tasted fresh and he put the right amount of hot sauce on. Tasted great. You'd b surprised with any many places mess up a simple chicken sandwich but this deli does it perfectly. I had a party where I served both lunch dinner. Lunch was the Gourmet sandwiches. These were truly gourmet and not your run of the mill deli sandwiches. A later delivery for dinner was from the Bistro menu. Everyone could not stop raving about how delicious all the food was. Finally, I everyone I spoke to at Coliseum was helpful and friendly. A special thanks to Melissa who personally oversaw and was at the delivery of each meal. She even had the chef create a special salmon dish with mushrooms because I told her my family loves mushrooms! We picked up a large cheese pizza and 4 Italian subs after the recent PGA event at Bethpage for the road trip back to DC. The food was prepared quickly and we were able to breeze in and pick it up. I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks - but better late than never. All too often, we take the time to complain, but rarely to compliment. This past Thanksgiving, was the first one that we have ever hosted in our home. We decided to get dinner catered - and, oddly enough, we missed the deadline for the place where we planned to get the dinner from. My wife - scrambling, found an ad for the special packages from Coliseum Kitchen - and she had heard of them before, as the company where she works had used them before. We placed the order with some very nice folks - and I even pointed out that my wife was a celiac, so extra care needed to be taken with regard to the food. They couldn't be nicer. They wouldn't even let me pack it into the car. Every detail was taken care of - from the packaging to the reheating instructions. I made it a point to call the owner the Monday after Thanksgiving, as I drove to work, as I had a need to let him (Ralph) know that they had "knocked it out of the freaking park!" Every guest insisted on seconds and thirds... even the kids who were picky eaters - loved it. The turkey was delicious and juicy - not a dry bite. The stuffing - fantastic... the veggies. Crisp and tasty... the gravy - amazing - and the garlic mashed - phenomenal. Not a single criticism here - and I am usually quite the critical guy. Amazing - you owe it to yourself -if you're thinking of using Coliseum Kitchen for a catering gig - to call and book them right now. John B I recently used Coliseum Caterers for my wife's surprise retirement party at our home.We had used them awhile back and ran into them again at a summer party last year that planted the thought in my head to use them for my event. Let me start by saying Coliseum Caterers did everything imaginable from A-Z. The event was June 4th 2022 this past Saturday. Let's start with booking the event. I dealt with Melisa who the most polite easy going salesperson to deal with. In about 15 mins or so of conversation I knew that we would do the all-american bbq package for 50 plus people. We added tray of chicken fingers and guacamole and chips for appetizers. Our side choices were red bliss potato salad, pasta salad & grilled veggies. In addition we choose lemon chicken, sausage peppers & marinated flank steak w/mushrooms & onions. Melisa was positively such easy charming person to deal with for planning. Everything was ABSOLUTELY delicious. We ended up on the day of with 52 guests and we planned for 60 and there was not much left over because everyone enjoyed the food which was great to see. Day of staff Marty, Mike, Terry ( please forgive me if the names of staff are not correct) did an AMAZING JOB. From setup to serving to even taking left overs and placing them in our refrigerator they did it all. Even helped us with cake cutting and serving as well. They were always asking if I needed any help and always going around and taking empty plates asking if anyone needed anything. TOTALLY AWESOME staff. They did everything so I didn't have to worry about anything and could enjoy the day with family and friends. When it comes to any type of catered event Coliseum should be your only choice. They should be the number one catering company on Long Island in my eyes. From planning, booking, to day of your event they do it all with professionalism to the max. Had Coliseum Kitchen cater our Thanksgiving this year and they did a great job. Everything from the butternut squash soup, stuffing and salad to the homemade apple pie was delicious. The turkey however, was outstanding. Sliced thin and delivered hot in its own juices...it was tender and very tasty. Got some great comments from our guests on how great tasting everything was. Paid for it online and simply drove there and picked it up. Every aspect of the process was easy...exactly the way we wanted it. I reviewed this place after my first trip and now that I've been there 15 more times or so it's officially confirmed. This place rocks. It's pricey, yes, but not unfair and you have Craving's down the street which charges more so this is a nice alternative with a wider selection. Burgers are my favorite. They recommend you call in advance for these because it takes 10 minutes or so to make, but they are absolutely delicious (favorite is the guacamole burger with bacon, jack cheese, and chipolte mayo). Also, every sandwich I've had has been good - great. If you want to try Coliseum Kitchen on a budget, get the breakfast. They have omelets (that are fantastic) with home fries and toast for a little over $5. Also, the captain crunch french toast is great (and they also have challah french toast!) My last venture was to get wings for the Giants game last Sunday. It took way too long to make (20 minutes I think), but it worked out to my favor because I came back right at kickoff. I ordered the hot (they have mild, hot, and don't even try it). The sauce was great and had the right amount of kick. If you're looking for a deli on a budget, Quizno's is down the street and you can get a sandwich for $5. If you're looking for awesomeness, check out the Coliseum Kitchen. read more

I was excited at first but I'd pass. When this place first opened I was so excited by the menu and how close it was to work. They put out quality food but at a high price. $14 for a burger and fries is a little extreme and you would think they would get everything right. Over time you would think the place would get better and better but it's done the opposite. They are still all over the place and confused. I've waited 20min for a hamburger before and then when I ask about it they lost the order. But this has happened several times. They have also changed menu items but kept the same names which can be quite a catastrophe when you have an old menu and get something completely different than what you ordered. When this place first opened it was great. The sandwiches were piled high, the chicken soup was fresh and loaded with chicken, breakfast was so filling you would skip lunch. But then.... It all went downhill. Sandwiches are no better than any deli sandwich. The procuitto in my "flagship" hero wad salty (the salt was being released from the meat) which is a sign of old meat. We also saw a busboy use a rag to wipe down trays, the door on the garbage receptacle and a table.... the SAME rag. Yeah, no thanks. read more
