Grilled chicken sandwich on fresh, homemade focaccia

We were served the best fresh focaccia and the rest of the meals were fantastic. Server was lovely as well

I'm so torn as I write this review because I really want to gate-keep this cozy little restaurant churning out some of the best food I've had in a while. It's a very unassuming storefront but it's quite charming inside. The service was great and the staff was very The cocktails were super good too, I started with the olive oil martini, which was exactly what you expected. It went down easy...the thyme Negroni was also very smooth and delicious. We started with the octopus appetizer which was excellent. Perfectly charred, the perfect chew factor, seasoned lightly but nicely. It came with a side of puréed cauliflower which was so creamy. It also came on top of a bed of root vegetables and for a second my heart sank because I was afraid it was going to be frozen veggies but absolutely not, the veggies were perfect, cooked but still had a bite. My husband and I both got pastas. I got the Genovese, and it was so pleasant. It was a white sauce, which wasn't heavy/creamy but it was peppery and light with veal. The pasta was perfectly al dente which I had no doubt it would be. My husband got the linguine carciofi, it came in an artichoke sauce and came with shrimp and he and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a nice and balanced dish. My husband ended with the limone sponge cake, as I'm not a dessert person. Looking forward to coming here to try all the pastas and wanting to try the pizzas too as they looked so so good...

Came here from a friend's recommendation and had a pretty good experience. Walked into this cute little spot around 5:30pm on a Sunday night and didn't have to wait for a table at all! Very cozy and warm vibes once you walk in. Pretty small establishment so I would say if you're coming with a large party to call ahead. Appetizers - Carciofi Salad - Rucola Fusilli - Pasta Entre - Milanese & Spezzatino Di Vitello Pizza - Diavola Carciofi - deep fried artichoke which was amazing because I mean anything deep fried is going to be amazing. I love that we're getting our daily serving of veggies but without it being a chore! Love the side of tartar sauce it came with. Rucola - pretty large serving so actually good for family style. Between the 3 of us, we actually thought it was perfectly portioned. Fusilli - not too cheesy but you still get that rich flavour of the broccoli rabe, sausage and bomba calabrese. I don't think I got much of the spicy kick it claimed though. Milanese - chicken cutlet - I feel like this is standard at most Italian restaurants so I wasn't expecting anything less than perfect. Nicely breaded and pairs well with the Rucola with cheese salad. Crispy, tender. Yum. Spezattino Di Vitello - meat was so so tender and nicely cooked. So juicy and prob my fav dish. Don't sleep on this one! Pizza - thin crusted with a slab of pepperoni on top so I can't say I loved it that much. Felt a bit plain but still good nonetheless. Great experience overall ! Just want to give a big shoutout to the owners for rectifying a small hiccup :)

This is not a pizza joint. Smaller place so make a reservation. Nice and homey. Service was great. Got the chicken Milanese. Very good. Should have been served on a bigger plate. My friend got Fettuccine al Funghi. Very tasty. Wish the pasta wasn't so small. All in all a great experience. I would recommend

    Bucatini al Limone with Clams

Really liked this spot. It was cozy and a family run place. It was not as busy when I came in but became more packed as others joined. The sauces were fresh and bursting with flavor. The lemon base on my bucatini was good but almost too strong on its own. The pasta was also very soft and fresh. Paired with the clams, it was very balanced. House bread was also fresh, had a nice rosemary flavor, and was served with a high quality olive oil for dipping. My order first came out without the clams but the staff were very quick to amend and apologize for the mistake. I would come back given how close it is and as there were several more menu items I wish to try in the future!

New favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. I don't know what took us so long! Had take out from here a year ago and it was difficult to appreciate the care and timing that goes into each dish. Fast forward to today and we have been here basically every week. Love the small family feel and menu choices with lots of fresh greens! The pasta is clearly house made and the sauces burst with flavor. The pizza is thin and crisp. The cheese is rich and very fresh! We are still in the process of exploring the menu, but it's been challenging to order something new when we like the items we have ordered so much! Our set rotation: Side of broccoli rabe roasted with garlic. Roasted mixed vegetables - the eggplant and carrots carry this dish. Spaghetti pomodoro - love this dish, simple flavors with perfectly made pasta Pizza margherita - excellent When adventurous Burrata & prosciutto - awesome Caprese - their mozzarella is so fresh and rich in flavor. Sadly the tomatoes could have been a tad more ripe. Pappardelle bolognese - tasty, more meat heavy than the pomodoro Milanese - chicken breast is flavorful and tender enough but the pairing with the salad is a little off for my palate. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu items. So fortunate to have them so close to home.

As you can see I hated the Branzino lol

5 star experience,,love the cozy, homely , intimate ambiance, you feel like you are at dinner party with close friends and family , plenty of parking , I did not have a reservation , but one is recommended especially on the weekend , Nido seated me immediately, there is a full liquor bar about 6 chairs and food is permitted at the bar, numerous cocktails , wine & spirits to chose from , about 12-15 tables are available, which also means you will get full attention ,.great Italian menu with other house specials that you will not find at other Italian restaurants in the area, they add their unique touch, Ervis the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet , thanks for the Complementary shit of Amaretto , he truly makes an effort to meet all his customers during the night , and he's the bartender,,,as for Nido our waiter ,,he was wonderful, very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, recommendations were fantastic , everything was served exactly as ordered ..Nido even brought 3 samples of wine wine to go along with our meal Pinot Grigio, Savignon, Blanc, and the Chardonnay, I decided to go with the Chardonnay.. to start the veal meatballs were delicious, if you liked grilled octopus, then I highly recommend it , I ordered it chopped it's served with spinach and chopped vegetables with a Cauliflower purée, Melanzane (layered eggplant) was very good ,,,main course I took Nidos advice and ordered the Branzino, it's baked in a cooking sheet which is wrapped, delicious, already deboned with crushed potatoes , cherry tomatoes and olives , for our pasta dish you can't go wrong with the house special Pappardelle alla bolognese, with veal ragu & 24 month aged parmigiano reggiano cheese I enjoyed the Italian margarita (tequila amaretto lemon juice & tajin rim At Nidos request we tried their most popular pizza the Honey Pepperoni ... Tomato sauce, pepperoni, with Ricotta Drizzled with homemade spicy infused honey Delicious deserts Their tartufo with cinnamon is most popular I also enjoyed the ricottina con pistachio ,,a light creamy ricotta mousse with pistachio cream (a different take on a cheesecake) Flora also sells their olive oil & balsamic vinegar on their "market" menu so you can take it home with you Floras has been opened for 2 years , I wish then the best , judging by the patrons and the amount of take out orders..and the fun, good vibes , cozy, & positive energy I'm sure Floras will be a fixture in the community

    12"Honey Pepperoni
    Annie Y.

I heard about Flora's recently and decided to try it out as I drive past the shopping center quite often when running errands. They are located near the McDonald's on Jericho Turnpike and parking isn't an issue. I ordered their Cheese and Honey Pepperoni 12" pizzas. I felt their pizzas were average and similar to Acqua e Farina pizzas. The crust is thin and crispy so it's best to enjoy the pizza hot out of the oven. The crust can get hard as the pizza cools. I'm not big on spice so I didn't enjoy the Honey Pepperoni pizza as much as I should have. I didn't know there was going to be a lot of red pepper flakes on it. I would have preferred the red pepper flakes to be separate from the honey so I could have ordered it without the red pepper flakes as the spice was a bit overwhelming for my taste. Service was good. The man, who took my order, was courteous and friendly and finished making my order within 20 minutes. l may try their pasta next time as the pizza didn't live up to the hype for me.

I got the chicken picata which came a la carte and a side of pesto cavatelli. The cavatelli was fresh pasta and the portion of pasta was large for a side I think they gave me just a regular pasta meal. I tried the Italian sunrise which I didn't like at all. My husband had the pesto gnocchi and enjoyed his meal. We finished with the cookies and cream mousse which was light. My cappuccino was delicious. My only complaints are my jacket and clothes smelled like fried food because we were sitting close to the kitchen which I didn't like of course. My leftover chicken was not entire meal that was leftover which was disappointing.

On March 29th, we hosted my grandmother's 85th birthday here with about 30 people. This wasn't some last-minute reservation--we planned everything months in advance directly with Sal. From the very beginning, we made it clear that the entire reason we chose this restaurant was for their private room. My grandmother had attended another party there and loved that space--it's private, has its own bathroom, and was perfect since we had a lot of kids attending. Sal explicitly told us there was no minimum or maximum for the room and guaranteed it to us. Based on that promise, we booked the party. As the date got closer, we even upgraded the package--paying extra per person for an additional course. Only then did Sal casually slip in that we would NOT be getting the private room. So if we hadn't called to add that upgrade, we likely wouldn't have found out until the day of the event. When we questioned him, he suddenly claimed there was a "minimum" requirement of people to secure the room--something he NEVER mentioned before. Then he tried to say there was a contract stating we weren't guaranteed the room... except we were never given any contract. No paperwork. No receipt for our deposit. Nothing. Completely unprofessional and shady. A few days later, when my dad followed up, Sal finally admitted the truth: another, larger party booked the room. Fine--we understand businesses prioritize money. But don't LIE and promise something you can't deliver. Don't book us under false pretenses and then backtrack with excuses and made-up policies. We were then told we'd get the corner, semi-private part of the restaurant space with three tables. That didn't happen either. Instead, we were crammed into the front, basically in the middle of the restaurant. It was chaotic, loud, and completely inappropriate for a large family gathering--especially with young kids running around and my 85-year-old grandmother struggling just to get to the bathroom. To make matters worse, when we calmly expressed our disappointment afterward, Sal didn't even have the decency to have a conversation. He literally put his hand up and said, "I'm done with this conversation," and walked away, leaving his waiter to handle it--despite the fact that he was the one who mishandled everything. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect was unbelievable. We felt completely taken advantage of and misled from start to finish. This was supposed to be a special milestone celebration, and instead it turned into a stressful and upsetting experience for our entire family. We will absolutely NEVER be coming back, and I strongly advise anyone considering booking an event here to think twice. If they can do this to a party planned months in advance, they can do it to anyone.

We started with fresh baked bread and their signature ricotta-style bruschetta dip, which set the tone right away. The meats and cheeses were high quality and full of flavor. The tortellini in broth was especially comforting and perfect for the colder weather. For entrees, the veal was perfectly crispy and paired well with the mashed potatoes and spinach. The balanzoni stood out for its rich, flavorful sauce, and adding the lasagna was absolutely worth it -- layered, hearty, and extremely satisfying. Dessert was just as strong. The tartufo was rich without being overwhelming, the ice cream was smooth and refreshing, and the biscotti was hands down the best we've ever had. Ending with coffee tied the meal together nicely. Service throughout the evening was attentive, well paced, and knowledgeable about the course menu, which made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a classic Italian feel that made it easy to settle in and enjoy a full multi-course meal.
