We found ourselves for the second time after eight years dining at this restaurant, at the request of our friends. We sat in the dining room and were served by a lovely, friendly lady. She was very attentive, and I believe she knows our friends dine here often. I must admit, their portions are sizable, and their entrees are delicious. I am still amazed that pizza can be made and left in the open air for so long before someone buys a slice. In Florida, it's rare to find places that sell just a slice; they typically sell only whole pies. We get Villa Monte's Too Good to Go bags every once in a while, and everything I have tried from them is delicious. They've really mastered the art of the specialty slice. Their toppings are super unique, but the flavors are always spot on. Most recently, I tried a grandma with caramelized onions and mushrooms. It was delicious. We had been to Villa Monte occasionally in the past and were usually satisfied. This last visit we were really disappointed with the food and especially the service. We walked in the dining room and waited a long time to be seated as the 2 servers kept running past us back and forth. When we were about to give up, they just sat us at the table we were standing right in front of. We ordered 2 entrees and a slice of special pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was so burnt it was almost inedible. One of the pasta entrees came and it was the wrong one but they tried to convince us it was correct. It was not made well but mostly dissatisfied as it was not what we had ordered. The salad was small and served with what seemed like poor quality bottled dressing. I could not get the attention of our server to order another drink as she ran past us several times never to look over. Finally when I flagged another server she barked back "just a minute!" as she walked by never to return. I eventually flagged down our server but I was without a drink for a long time. Overall the horrible service made us write this place off our list of Italian restaurants to go to. Sad. read more

The slices were a bit too thick and greasy, doused in sauce (not pizza sauce, but sauces for flavored slices), and just weird to eat given how both tough and soggy the slices were. My boyfriend and I walked in last minute Wednesday night expecting to find no little to no tables available. To our surprise, there was plenty of seating available. He had been to Villa Monte before, but I had not, so I was pleasantly surprised with how clean it was and how prompt the service was. The food was delectable, and I had leftovers for two more days. They have tons of different specialty slices and the overwhelming majority that I have tried have all been very good. Some of my favorites are the meatball slice (it has a few half meatballs on it) and a chicken bacon stuffed slice that tastes very similar to my favorite sandwich that has many of the same ingredients. The place is clean and the workers are good. Altogether, I find that this is a high quality pizza place with solid food. I highly recommend that you check it out. read more

The food is typically great, but a few of the workers have a rude attitude. I'm someone who likes extra sauce with my slices, and will pay for the side if I have to. I ordered my slices with extra sauce on the side and one worker tells me okay. When the very nice lady rings me up, she said "you told the guys about the sauces right?" And I said yes. When I get my pizza, there's no sauce so I asked another worker for it, to which he completely ignored me and didn't respond. Then I ask another worker 5 minutes later and he says "it's already on the pizza" and I said "I ordered sauce on the side" and he mumbles something as he turns his back to me. I said "what?" and he says something along the lines of "the pizza guy already put it on the chicken" with a snotty tone and he walks away. So I paid for a side of sauce that they refused to give. Just came back from dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed. It's a pizza place with an Italian restaurant in the back. The food was really good, but I have had better Italian. The prices are fantastic and you get salad and pasta with every entree, which is nice. I am excited to go back and try their pizza. They had the widest variety of types of slices I have ever seen. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It was good, but not the best I have had. For my sides, I got the Caesar salad and the whole wheat penne. Both were very good. This place has one of the largest and most creative specialty pie displays I've ever seen. It's a pizza joint on one side and a restaurant on the other. I've been to the restaurant and the food is excellent.......but in my opinion, that's not why you should visit. It's the crazy amount of specialty slices you can get at the counter. Very unorganized. There three different sighns one says phone orders one say to pay and one says to get pizza. I waited where it said to get pizza no one ever asked if they can help me. Someone that came in after was by a different sighn and they asked what they wanted and they ordered pizza before me. After wauting a while ine the line I finally gave up and left before even being able to try a slice. I only have 30 minutes for a break so couldnt wait any longer. They need to make it more organized..In stead of haveing people all over ordering from different areas. A little confusing for someone who never been there. Originally found this place because of the too good to go app. Stopped by and grabbed a box with some slices. Got hooked. Ended up doing that same thing couple of more times. Worth every penny. One Friday night couldn't decide what sort of pizza to grab so came in for slices. Got the buffalo calamari, sweet heat calamari (I think that's what it's called), some sort of spicy lovers and shrimp scampi slice. The calamari slices were surprisingly not chewy when reheated. Of course utterly delicious as well. Shrimp scampi wasn't as amazing as would have expected, but hey reheated shrimp eh yea. Probably better when it's fresh. Spicy lovers slice a delight! In short if you want delicious variety this is the place to get it! Service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Pizza is very flavorful. The pizza was very good although the crust was somewhat hard for my liking - I actually wanted it to be more breadlike - but it had the consistency of a really good breadstick! Been coming here for years. Biggest selection of specialty slices you've ever seen. Staff is great. They come up with new pies all the time. They are all good. From lasagna to deep dish meatball to pesto to French fry and hot dog. Absolutely the best around for specialty slices. Oh, and Thursday and Friday they have at least a half dozen seafood pies to choose from on top of the other 2 dozen or so. Ordered delivery: cesar salad had no dressing, asked for plates and silverware none provided, no parmesan included. When i called for dressing they said it would be right out. It took over half hour and we were finished eating and had to leave. I called and asked the manager for a refund on the salad. He said he would refund only the dressing. What I love about this place is that it's one of the few authentic Italian Pizzerias left in NY. It's very rare now that one finds a real Italian pizza spot.
