Love this mom and pop food shop! They have great sandwiches, salads, cookies, smoothies, and soups…read more This is not a typical restaurant like other reviewers have pointed out. There is no free water and one has to make a purchase for a water bottle from the fridge. Inside is cozy with a few small tables and what looks like a recycled pew used as a bench. There's a small "help yourself after paying" hot coffee station. Alongside the counter to the register one can see all of the amazing soups kept warm/hot! The ones that I have tried so far and love are: Hungarian Mushroom, Turkey Chili, Brown Lentil, Chicken Noodle, etc. Someone mentioned that the lobster bisque changed, but I can't eat shellfish so I wouldn't have any opinion there. The bathroom door is opposite the end of the bench and it smells like a bathroom. I have never had such an off putting experience there. It was as expected. A lot of things people don't know is that they can ask or make a suggestion instead of assuming that the bathroom is always nasty. One also doesn't know what the person before them did in there. It's wrong to assume that the staff handling the food would constantly be checking the bathroom. A little ask or suggestion can go a long way. During the weekends, OB events, and summer days the line can go out the door and the wait can be long, but everything is worthwhile as all of the non-soups are made to order! Happy eats !

Completely unexpected. Hubby wanted to have a quick lunch so we stopped in here. There is seating…read moreand at about 1ish during the week, it was busy but not packed. They have a nice half and half deal with half a wrap/sandwich and a cup of soup. Hubby and dad each got that, one with clam chowder, the other tomato soup. I tried some of both. I don't usually like tomato anything but this soup was GOOD! Especially dipping a piece of bread and eating the soaked piece. The clam chowder was also yummy. I ordered the Waldorf chicken salad wrap which was just the right amount of all flavors and textures. I felt healthy eating it but was also very full after. The interior decor is not fancy but inviting for a local town restaurant. So glad we tried this place!

I've been here several times at Taby's Burger House to get breakfast and let me tell you the food…read morehere is amazing plus the customer service is A+. The wait to be seated and get serviced wasn't too long either. I loved the old school diner style and feel to the restaurant. If you're in Oyster Bay definitely hit them up, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend this mom & pop, diner like experience, in the heart of little Oyster Bay Village…read moreon the Island! Our server was friendly and continually refilled our water glasses without thinking twice and even the counter person who took our payments for the bill, was warm and kind. There are plenty of breakfast options, and the coffee was fresh, but I went with the "Oyster Bay Burger. It had mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, grilled peppers ( I told them to HOLD the peppers) and fried onions. The order arrived quickly to the table. The burger looked delicious, was delicious and was lip smacking tasty!! When that 1/2 pound bad boy came out, it was HUGE and it was love after first bite ! Fresh ground beef, Cooked to perfection, and so very juicy ! My mouth waters thinking of it now. Again they have PLENTY OF BREAKFAST options and at a reasonable price. Fruits, juices, eggs, toast, muffins, omelets, griddle specialities and more until 11 A.M. The rest of the menu carries traditional diner fair. You've got appetizers, fruit and juices, salads, beverages, Greek style salads, hot and cold sandwiches! The place has that ol' traditional diner feel, with wooden chairs & dining tables. It's like stepping back into a old time diner from the 50's. It's cozy and when I was there it was packed with people, seemed like a lot of locals. There is street parking in the front, but it can be challenging and tough. I recommend, though, I didn't know this until I used the restroom towards the back of the restaurant, that there is EASY PATRON PARKING SPACES IN THE REAR OF THIS RESTAURANT! Overall, this place is a great place to get your diner food fix! And the owner was on the premises and seemed to genuinely care about how his business was running. Wheelchair accessibility: is provided by a rear entrance, with, I believe, parking behind this restaurant. Buon Appetito!!!!!!!! Salute
