I appreciate the variety on the menu. The food was pretty decent overall (oatmeal was very good) but the experience was ruined because the delivery came so late. The food was delivered over a half hour later than the time originally communicated. The delivery person attributed the lateness to it being very busy, though I have seen many reviews since that are also commenting on the slow delivery. Order was placed through Door Dash, but Deli Zone handles their own deliveries. They do not handle deliveries well. If this place could fix this delivery problem (like let DoorDash do the delivery...???), I would consider ordering again. But I won't get delivery from them again. read more

I ordered a chick pea salad. The chick peas were brown and black instead of orange. Two bits and it went into the garbage. The only thing I could taste is salt. It was extremely to the point that I couldn't taste anything else and might have been done to keep from spoiling or the hide the fact that it had already gone bad. Hi folks welcome to Deli Zone located in Farmingdale, Long Island. This review is for a Sunday morning breakfast delivery order. Working Sunday's it's always a challenge to get a good hot breakfast. I can't leave the job site, so breakfast has to come to me. I tried to get delivery from several other places, but they were all too busy to deliver. I checked with Yelp to find my friend Evan had also been at this Deli Zone. Great, let's give them a try. Answering the phone, I was greeted by a cheerful voice. Yes we deliver ! Perfect, I'm really hungry this morning. I ordered up a custom made hungry man breakfast hero with potatoes, cheese, sausage, bacon and ham. Not to forget my much needed big cup of coffee and 2 homemade chocolate chip cookies. Now, I'm all set. The courteous delivery person arrived in about an hour. Wow, perfect order, no mistakes. Everyone doesn't know how to make a Philly cheesesteak this is just facts. Deli Zone doesn't know how to make it. I got the order it was on a roll automatically knew it would be trash. Then it wasn't greasy I asked them to make it greasy. I need to see the juice dripping the cheese melting. The use American Cheese idk about that. No mayo on my bread. I had to get home and add peppers and the rest of the stuff to it. Maybe I am just used to a different way "cheesesteaks" are made. They use roast beef for the meat. Which is different for me. I am giving it two stars because of that. I set myself up because everyone doesn't know how to make it. My husband enjoyed his wings though. I think most people like to find a deli that puts them in a good place. When you find friendly service, with a smile, you find yourself in the zone. By zone I mean "Deli Zone." I drove past this location a few days back and believed I would return. Normally that happens months later, but fate decided today was that day. They have decent parking around the building so I pulled in quick. Once inside I noticed the place was well kept and organized. Also mixed with the comfortable seating and modern look of the place was background conversation. The staff behind the counter greeted customers by their names. I thought to myself "I want them to know my name." So I knew these were regulars and they came often for good reason. The staff was amazing. The lady who took my order also made my breakfast. She was polite and fast with the preparation of my meal. I listened as the staff continued to talk and enjoy their jobs. This made the wait fun for me. Once I got my meal and left I automatically felt I wanted to come again. But wait! I didn't even try the food yet. Was it worth coming back? Looking at my wrap I noticed how tight she wrapped it. Nothing spilled out. She put a ton of bacon and cheese inside. Also she used sausage end to end so every bit would not be waisted on just wrap alone. Once I bit in, I felt that she made this with love. I was impressed with the amount of cheese used and bacon. I forgot to ask for mayo or ketchup but it didn't matter. There was so much flavor inside, it wasn't missing anything. This is my goto deli when I have to travel out East. I'm glad I found it. Yesterday my daughter was planning a get together for about 20 friends. The wife was handling the ordering of a six-foot hero and trimming. At 1:45 PM I get a text saying, I should order the food. She forgot!!! Well I don't get flustered easily, but the norm for ordering a six-foot hero is a days notice because of the bread. So it 2 PM and I'm calling different deli's and nobody was able to help us out with the order. Harry at Deli Zone said let me call the bakery. He called me right back said he could handle it. He would deliver or I can pick up the order in two hours. Wow !!! I usually order breakfast or lunch here because it's always good and one day I walked in and saw several food platters lined up to be delivered for a catering order and I thought, hummm, those look beautiful! So I went out on a limb and decided to try Deli Zone to cater my event. Best decision... better than I imagined. Harry sat with me and took time to go over the "Irish-Italian" menu I concocted. I ordered Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepherds Pie, Assorted Wraps, that included all salads and condiments, specially made Salmon appetizer, Antipasto, and more. Every guest at the party was quite impressed with the food, raving over it actually. Not only was the presentation of the food professionally arranged, it was delicious! There was more than enough food to satisfy the biggest appetites. All paper/utensils products were also included and arrived ready to use. The set up of the sterno racks was quick and unobtrusive. The staff was professional and a pleasure to deal with. Get the bread pudding for dessert, I enjoyed it so much, I had it again for breakfast in the morning. I did not have an opportunity to try the food but as far as customer service goes, I am very pleased with the service I received. Let me explain... My best friend works in the Famingdale area and she was sick but had to go into work. I had placed an online order for her to get soup delivered to her job. However, I did not want her to get the receipt, just a note stating "Sorry for getting you sick! Thanks for being the bestest friend a girl could ask for!" I called Deli Zone a little bit afterwards to check my order and make sure everything was understood. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was great and reassured me of everything! My friend got her order, with a note and no receipt (which I was really happy about). I am completely disgusted at the service I received here. I order from here frequently via Eat24.com. Their food is not great, but their Avocado Salad with grilled Chicken is the best thing they have going for themselves. I just got the NASTIEST RUDEST guy on the phone. I have never been spoken to, or treated that rudely in my entire life! I placed on order online, and called them because their have been numerous cases where I place on order on Eat24 and it doesn't get fulfilled because they are so busy and no one is monitoring the online orders. So I said, hey, let me help them out by being proactive. Everytime I call, they always transfer me to someone else who specifically deals with their Eat24 orders. Today I call and ask to speak to the person in charge of online ordering. The guy on the phone says in the nastiest way "We're a little busy right now, its lunchtime!" I said, "Ok, what is that supposed to mean? That was extremely rude. He says, "No that wasn't rude, we are very busy" I said, "I placed an order online, I'm calling about my order" He says, "Oh, well you didn't say you placed an order, I thought you were a solicitor" I said, "No, I'm not a solicitor. I was calling because I know you guys get busy during lunch, and sometimes the online orders don't get looked at, so I wanted to follow up. But you know what, at this point, I'd like to cancel my order" He says, "Oh, you want to cancel, ok what's your address?" I give him my address and the call is over. I work about 15 minutes from the deli, one weekend every month, and I always go with Deli Zone as it usually has very good food. It is one of the better delis in the area so understandably they are always very busy, so a long wait time is expected. I got the chicken classic wrap on whole wheat with Cole slaw and to be honest, it was okay, but I feel that the quality of the food has been falling over the years. Everyone I have ever talked to there is amazingly friendly and quick to answer any questions and help with the order which is not the easiest because sometimes we have a large order and I need prices on everything to let everyone know what they owe. The Texan Burger is what I usually get and it never fails to be delicious!!!!! My friends are also fans of their BLT's and suggest the deli Iced Tea.
