Avocado Delight (avocado toast with burrata!)
Amy N.

Wow what a great place! A group of us (5 people) went last Sunday and had a great time! Excellent service and we all loved our food. The "Avocado Delight" that I got was so picturesque and delicious

If you get an order to go, they charge you a higher price, 50 cents more for each item to cover the cost of the tin pan. There's nothing on the menu advising you of this extra charge. You also need to double-check your order because I ordered the Herb Crusted Salmon salad, which was supposed to be over baby spinach with feta cheese blueberries, of which none was included. They gave me plain grilled salmon over a regular iceberg salad, which is not what I ordered or paid for! So disappointed

This place has been on my radar for a long time, it's a nice place, clean and well lit, the service was excellent, our server was friendly and attentive, the food was very good, I had the corned beef hash with sunny side up, it was good, and we also had a BLT w/avocado, it was very good

Everything you want and expect in a diner. Juicy burger, crisp fries and excellent cole slaw. Overall excellent value.

Still great service!! Still one of my families go to spots. I'm home sick and the matzo ball soup is pretty much all I can consume so thank you! Delicious

The outside of this diner looks a little dated. The inside, like an old fashioned diner is clean. The prices were extremely high compared to other local diners and the food was average, with the portions on the smaller size. There is an up-charge for everything and they only have breakfast specials during the week. We ordered Lox, Eggs and onions with egg whites, turkey bacon, Spanish omelette and rye toast. I added a small tomato juice (which was very expensive), the price was at least $15 more than their competitors, and honestly not worth it. The Spanish omelette was watery and leaked all over the plate. The home fries were good. The toast, a little burnt. The LEO was average and nothing to run back here for. The turkey bacon was very good. The staff was very friendly and the coffee service is better then most local diners. The same breakfast we've had in local diners came to about $32-34. My bill here was $52.

We stopped by on Christmas Eve for a late breakfast. We ended up getting some OJ, pancakes, avacado toast and a Italian omelette with home fries. I thought the pancakes were really good and so was the syrup which didn't taste like that normal diner syrup. The Italian omelette with home fries was good and had a good amount of meat, cheese and tomato in it. The avacado toast on the other hand was just blah and could've used some flavor to it. Service was good and place was clean. Would go back if passing by. Parking lot is small.

The service was fantastic; our server was very attentive with drinks and took our orders promptly. The whole family loved the food! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, almond pancakes, cannoli French toast, eggs Benedict, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Salvadoran platter. Everything we get here is consistently delicious, zero complaints! The drinks were great too, including the watermelon juice, regular coffee, and lattes. We couldn't be happier with the service and the food. I will always recommend My Grandmother's Kitchen for brunch!

My brother has always wanted to try this place, but we never had a chance to actually step foot inside the Library Cafe. As the name suggests, the restaurant sits at the site of the old town library, and the bar area has tall shelves and a rolling ladder to pay homage to the name. To maximize the restaurant week menu, three of us tried different appetizers. The ahi tuna taco was the best of the lot- crispy shell and nicely prepared tuna filling. The Thai calamari was a little too overcooked and the sweet sauce was cloying. I didn't get to try too much of the French onion soup because my dad almost inhaled it whole, but it was gooey and comforting. I had the honey-soy glazed salmon with broccolini. The salmon was a little dry, but the glaze and cashew went well with it. Maybe a touch of spice could have improved the dish. The broccolini was nicely textured and not too bitter. My mom's fish and chips were underwhelming, though the not-proper "chips" were well fried and seasoned. It was not served with vinegar either. My brother had the Buddha bowl which he enjoyed and felt was a good health conscious option. I did love that they allowed my dad -- who was not feeling too well-- to order just an entree while the rest of the table had the restaurant week menu. I know some restaurants require all members of the table to order off the prix fixe menu sometimes. He had the burger, which was cooked very precisely to medium-rare. We did have dessert though we were stuffed at this point. The sticky toffee pudding cake was lovely, moist, and so decadent without being overly heavy. I ordered the wild berry cheesecake, and while the clearly house made berry compote was a nice touch, it was just a little underwhelming next to the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a good time at the Library Cafe, and though service was a little slow due to sudden rush of diners, it was a fun little weekday dinner. I did see signs for their happy hour, which I'd love to try-- especially their cocktails named after writers!

Never went to a bar that needed a rolling ladder to access the top shelves. The high ceilings ( believe it was a renovated library ) even allowed for a small sailboat to be displayed above the main entrance foyer. Shout out to the staff. We were immediately welcomed by the bartender and informed we could sit anywhere rather than wait to be seated. Our server Annie was exceptional: welcoming, friendly and attentive with some appreciative suggestions from the menu. The menu, excluding the St Patrick's March Menu, was your typical American bar pub food fare: appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and limited entrees. Started off with the onions soup which was cheesy but light on onion slices but very good. Passed on the St Pats March Menu ( except for the Guinness beer ) and stuck with sandwich options. The sandwiches came with a side ( other sides available with an up charge). The sliced steak sandwich, roast beef French Dip sandwich and classic burger were all cooked to perfection and served with either a salad or waffle fries. The Library features an extensive cocktail menu with creative names of famous authors and even novels. In addition there is a separate open air event area ( above and overlooking the restaurant floor ) for private events or parties. Overall a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some good food that's reasonably priced. Definitely will be back when in the area again. One note Street parking is limited but there are municipal parking lots nearby.

However, once we finished eating, our plates were taken away and we were immediately asked to pay the bill, while other customers around us were still seated and talking without being rushed. The treatment felt inconsistent and uncomfortable. Additionally, when I paid using Apple Pay, another server was telling the manager to "check their license" to make sure it matched the Apple Pay due to "fraudulent cards." I have used Apple Pay at many establishments and have never been asked to provide identification in this manner. The interaction felt unnecessary and made me feel singled out. To make matters worse, my chicken was still pink inside. I chose not to complain at the time because I did not want to create an issue, but looking back, the overall experience was disappointing. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so all customers feel equally respected and comfortable.

The place has a good amount of seating area including high tops, low booths, bar table, and a private room. There is also two unisex restrooms. I came with my boyfriend before an event at Farmingdale State College and we were on a time crunch. I made a reservation on OpenTable but it was not busy at all. We got greeted and seated immediately upon walking in. Then, a server came with ice water for the both of us before our actual waiter came to introduce herself and ask if we were ready to order. Shortly after ordering, the waitress brought us a plate of complimentary bread that comes with garlic on top and olive oil dip on bottom. We got the fried calamari which was perfectly battered (not too little nor too thick) and fried perfectly (not too burnt nor too pale). The taste was great and went well with the marinara sauce. The Clams Oreganata were delicious too - very meaty and flavorful with a nice sauce and lemon to squeeze on top. The Clams Vespa is very unique and creamy. It reminds me of a white Alfredo sauce with baked clams. They had a huge variety of drinks and it was hard for me to choose, but the lady recommended me the Sicilian Kiss which is a strawberry flavored cocktail. It is supposed to be on the sweeter side but the alcohol was strong too. As for our main entree, we got the Papperdelle Bolognese which was a veal, pork, beef ragu on ribbon pasta. Very well cooked and the taste and texture went perfectly together. We were so full, but never skip on dessert! I'm personally not a fan of cheesecake, but they have creme brulee cheesecake and rainbow cookie cheesecake which I would have loved to try if it wasn't for the cheesecake. But I was happy to find out I could order the rainbow cookie gelato that usually comes with the cheesecake. That was yummy! The texture reminded me of the cake mix Ice-Cream from Carvel and the flavor is not too strong. Overall, great vibes and service. Will definitely be back to the the pizza and other pastas.

Food was delicious and the drinks were fabulous. Thanksgiving Eve met up with my date at Nunzi's It was giving "Hot Stuff" -- literally. I walk in with my date, and before my coat even unbuttons, Donna Summer herself is serenading me like I'm about to strut down a disco runway. Perfect timing. We were the first ones in the restaurant, which honestly made me feel like they opened the whole establishment just for my convenience. The host said, "Pick any table." Baby, don't threaten me with a good time. I saw that corner booth--cute, cozy, and prime real estate for flirting like I'm auditioning for a romantic comedy--and I claimed it like the last good parking spot at Target. The vibe? Oh, this restaurant is so my ministry. Trendy, modern, dimly lit like they're doing me a personal favor. If you're a social media fanatic like me. The entire décor is basically screaming, "Make a reel, post a story, take a selfie sis." The soundtrack? Disco, 70s and 80s R&B, a sprinkle of house. My favorite genres. The stuff that makes you want to shimmy your shoulders while pretending you're not checking out your date's jawline. The drinks? Oh honey... I ordered a blueberry lavender margarita because lavender is my personality at this point. My date got a banana Jameson old fashioned. I asked for a sip, took a sip, then instantly contemplated snatching his whole glass and telling him to order something else. It was that good. I asked the waiter about the pineapple infused vodka. "Can you taste the alcohol?" He said, "No, and that's the problem." I said, "Say less." Sold. LMAO. Had it in a martini fashion. Now for the food. We started with the Oh My Garlic Bread. Except... Oh My, what happened? The cheese was barely melted and the bread wasn't toasted enough. I wanted feral, unhinged, cheese-pull, toasted bread madness. I got "this could've been great but someone clocked out early." Sadness. It did come with a side of their delicious sauce and spicy vodka sauce. But THEN... that fried burrata came out like Beyoncé at the Superbowl. Melty, gooey, fried perfection. Cheese is my favorite food group and that burrata had me emotionally compromised. We also got Grandma's Meatballs. Delicious and they held their own and in chunky tomato sauce, with a dollop of ricotta? Mama mia, yes. For pasta, the server suggested the spicy rigatoni or the linguine bolognese. We went bolognese, and baby... that plate was giving comfort, warmth, cozy blanket energy. Delicious. Finished the night with the chocolate chip cookie sundae. Great ending, but listen--at an Italian restaurant, my middle-aged spirit WANTED tiramisu or a cannoli. I'm traditional like that. Overall? Five glittery stars. I will absolutely be back--probably dragging my work bestie for a happy hour where we judge men and eat fried cheese.
