Everything a diner should be: great selection of dishes, everything made to the order, enormous portions, ample parking, good lighting, excellent acoustics. In addition to that the service is attentive, fast and with a smile. My final comment is that they take cleanliness very seriously: the place is spotless!

Came here for lunch and dinner on separate occasions and would be eager to come back for breakfast as well. As it is naturally a diner staple. Atmosphere is exactly the traditional diner look you come to expect, plenty of bright colors and chrome, kicks you right in the nostalgia. But nothing is actually "old" either which is a plus. Both times I've gone staff have been friendly and helpful but just a touch slow to attend to my groups, but not egregiously so. Parking is pretty easy in the attached lot, plus some options on the side streets nearby if the place is really hopping. Food is very tasty and like any good, has a million choices to choose from. I've tried their Buffalo chicken caesar wrap, the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and the beef gyro. The gyro and the Buffalo Caesar were my favorite. Shout out to their fries though! Normally diner fries are nothing to write home to mom about, but their's are nice and crispy, and dare I say are nearly a highlight of the meal. One thing to appreciate as well, although I'm not vegan, they do offer a lot of vegan options, way more than any diner I've been to before. I was also very tantilized by their delicious sounding dessert options, but I controlled myself and saved it for another day. Prices are great for what you get, as things have got more expensive recently, the menu has managed to stay reasonable, making the bang for your buck feel a lot better.

This diner was an awesome surprise after a dance competition. The food was delicious. The plates were large and plentiful. My daughter had a shake that was to die for she said.

Let me start off by saying, do not listen to the negative reviews, try this diner out! With that being said, it IS diner food, don't come in expecting Michelin star food and leave them a negative review. Little cozy diner off the road with great diner food. The waiter we had was super chill, had a quick laugh over the size of the food when I ordered. Smiled and laughs are definitely was a bonus. The other staff was super friendly as well. Definitely coming back here whenever we're back in Lindenhurst!

I've been coming to this diner for so many years and I'm sad to say the quality has declined. The vegan menu has shrank and it seems they've gotten rid of their best menu items I would come exclusively for all the time (like the vegan cheese sauce please bring it back). Some of the other options have suffered as well, the pancakes I had were extremely sour to the point of being inedible. This used to be the best but I don't think I can justify coming back anymore even if it's the only vegan diner in the area. So sad

Came here for lunch around 1pm. The diner was a good place to catch up and chat with a friend. However, the wait time was long, and at times, I kept thinking if our table was forgotten. I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap with curly fries. I didn't know the wrap was whole wheat. It wasn't specified on the menu, I would have wanted the regular wrap, but I dealt with it. When my order came out the first time, it had regular fries. Took a few minutes longer to get our waiter's attention again to correct him. I ordered curly fries. Once it came back, the food was good. All payments are accepted, and Lindenhurst Diner has its own parking lot. We were onky two people, and hopefully, next time, the wait period won't be as long.

A Nice stop off in the neighborhood, my only complaint is they take a while with orders at times. Sat for like 25 minutes before the order came out, but overall the customer brunch item was pretty damn good! I recommend this diner. Just make sure you have time and are not starving before you get there, lol Go try!

I've heard from a few people that this is one of the best diners on Long Island, so I was excited to try it out! I honestly haven't been to that many diners, but I enjoyed this one. We came for brunch, so I got a BEC on a roll and my boyfriend got the chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was good, but my only concern is that the pancakes were falling apart a bit. There were a ton of options on the menu though, so there were a few things that I would go back to try. I was also enticed by the coffee and cocktail menus - I'd love to go for their happy hour one day because the prices are great.

Great service, average food. Honestly maybe I have to go again. This place has such great reviews. Maybe I went on a off day. The food was not bad, but it was not great either. The French onion soup was bland, the burger was tough.

Potatoes au gratin & Brussels. They were delicious. My one piece of advice; If you want to be an upscale American/steakhouse with art deco kind of vibes, jazz nights, etc., they NEED to learn how to make proper cocktails. I ordered a Manhattan. Don't assume bourbon. A traditional Manhattan is made with Rye. It's supposed to be spirit forward with the beautiful sweet vermouth to balance with 2 dashes ango. Express Orange and dress the peel, or not, doesn't matter. Most bartenders drown cocktails, this one included. And NEVER serve in a martini glass :) Nitpicky but only bc I loved everything else. They just need to learn how to make proper cocktails. The details matter! I'll be back for that Snake River Steak!!

Hospitality: -- the friendly, generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or…read morestrangers, creating a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment, making others feel valued and at home. This brings us to The James, managed by Joe Giannino under the fat-cat "Standard Hospitality Group," owned by Andrew Affa & Steve Squirtiro. It's hard owning a business and keeping it profitable but not when it's an almost algorithmic formula driven money extraction system so commonly found today. It's more difficult dining out in the world today when it feels like hospitality is vacating. Vining more about high-revenue than humanity. By very definition, I wouldn't call a good portion of the hospitality industry hospitality at all, and I certainly wouldn't say the James offers any. What I love about food is what it does for the soul, & what I've always loved about providing and caring for people is the sense of community; connection during good times and difficult ones alike; That's hospitality to me. Breaking bread is one of the most fundamental human gestures of generosity and true wealth. When you have it, you share it not squander it, not hoard it or treat it like it's something to take from others and line your pockets with. That's why this experience disappointed me so much, because I believe with the myriad of options, we must be far more selective and far more supportive of local and smaller family run establishments. Today, for a table they would still fill and never notice, I tried to cancel a reservation out of respect -- respect for the staff, for other guests, and for my damn self. Being charged a cancellation fee when a mom is sick on Mothers Day, is not hospitality, it is not empathy. It is greed disguised as brand experience self worth. I have supported the Arlo from this same restaurant group in the past and probably would have happily returned too, based on the menu alone, but coldhearted, rigid policies like this change how a place feels. There are many family-run restaurants that understand flexibility and empathy. That kind of environment matters to me, and this experience will forever make me decide to support those places instead. I've recently learned to name positive outcomes when something negative arises, so I believe this time, it's great that it only cost me fifty bucks to never give this group another dime. Typical corporate hospitality is more what the James can offer. These types of COMPANIES feed themselves, not the community.

The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.

The space is super cute and has that perfect mix of trendy but still comfortable -- you can come here for literally anything: date night, girls night, even brunch. Everything we ordered was SO good. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the food, and it actually lives up to the hype. And the cocktails... obsessed. So well made and not your typical basic drinks. Service was also great, everyone was really friendly and on top of everything without being overbearing. Overall just such a fun night and definitely one of those spots I'll keep coming back to. Highly recommend checking it out before it becomes too popular cause it def will!!!

That said, the food and drinks were a bit hit or miss. The Diet Cokes tasted overly syrupy and flat, which wasn't a great start. We ordered the Italian nachos, and honestly, they were disappointing. It felt like a bowl of plain chips with toppings (no pancetta though looked like microwaved bacon bits ) only on the very top layer, so once we got through that, we were left with mostly bare chips. For $20, I expected something much more substantial. If you've had Italian nachos done well elsewhere like novita , this didn't quite meet that standard. At all. The ravioli was really good, and the skirt steak had great flavor at first. Unfortunately, about a quarter of it was very undercooked and tough to cut, so we didn't end up eating that portion. Overall, this place has a lot of potential, especially with the ambiance, but there are definitely some inconsistencies that need to be worked out.
