I visited with a large group (10 people) for the late night menu (we got there around 10:30). Service was a bit slow, likely because of the large quantity of orders. However, smaller groups that came after seemed to be getting their orders before us, despite getting similar items from the late night menu. Despite that, the food was good. Everyone enjoyed what they got. I only got the half dozen boneless wings, which were $5. The smoky bbq sauce was delicious but the drizzle was not nearly enough. I'd rather they be tossed like most places do wings. Overall, a good place with good prices for late night eats with friends. I would recommend if you like fried food late at night, just don't expect a quick trip since you may be waiting a while if your group is large. read more

I was excited to be returning to the Lindenhurst Diner especially after all the advertising they've been doing. I was very disappointed. I ordered the appetizer sampler and French onion soup. My husband ordered french toast and they brought out a plate of three thick slices of Texas toast with powder sugar. We looked at it confused and each took a bite to confirm that it was actually plain toast. We told the waiter that the french toast seemed plain and was missing cinnamon or something. He doubled down and said they don't use cinnamon in their french toast. My husband gave up seeing this conversation was going nowhere and just ordered a short stack. Came here for lunch and dinner on separate occasions and would be eager to come back for breakfast as well. As it is naturally a diner staple. Atmosphere is exactly the traditional diner look you come to expect, plenty of bright colors and chrome, kicks you right in the nostalgia. But nothing is actually "old" either which is a plus. Both times I've gone staff have been friendly and helpful but just a touch slow to attend to my groups, but not egregiously so. Parking is pretty easy in the attached lot, plus some options on the side streets nearby if the place is really hopping. Food is very tasty and like any good, has a million choices to choose from. I've tried their Buffalo chicken caesar wrap, the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and the beef gyro. The gyro and the Buffalo Caesar were my favorite. Shout out to their fries though! Normally diner fries are nothing to write home to mom about, but their's are nice and crispy, and dare I say are nearly a highlight of the meal. One thing to appreciate as well, although I'm not vegan, they do offer a lot of vegan options, way more than any diner I've been to before. I was also very tantilized by their delicious sounding dessert options, but I controlled myself and saved it for another day. Not a good start for our first time here. We waited more than 10 minutes for service even though the place had 4 other guests. The only person was the busboy who gave us water and ice tea. We finally found another server who took our order only to let us know that he will give it to whoever was supposed to take our order. I had one foot out of the booth to leave. So he ordered cheese and sausage omelette, first TWO bites had gristle or bone that he had to spit out. Thankfully the rest was ok. I hated seeing so much lettuce leaves on his plate. I had ordered the Asian salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was good as was the salad but dry. I had to get another server to get me more dressing which he served with a smile. Tonight I went to pick up dinner at The Lindenhurst Diner and once again it was such a disappointment! We've been customers for many years and if you eat there it is good but when it comes to picking up it's always a problem- wrong order, missing food, poor quality, etc- tonight was the last straw- I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap which was nothing to rave about, a Roma Salad that once again was missing the salad dressing that comes on the side- because this has happened before I always ask if they could check and they always assure me its definitely in the bag and it rarely is- I also ordered a lettuce and tomato sandwich on toast- again I had to toast the bread as they forgot and since I had to take it apart in order to toast it, I was shocked to see only three very thin small half pieces of tomato and the bottom half slice of bread was only a quarter of a piece!!! It almost looked like a bite was taken! There is absolutely no care taken by the chef or kitchen staff at all!! Instead of constantly changing the menu they should concentrate on improving what they have! The owners are very nice people but I haven't seen them in a long time- they definitely need to train their kitchen staff - I did call to complain and was credited for the inedible sandwich but the excuses given were absolutely ridiculous! This was a great spot for family gatherings or even catering, but now the options are limited for people with dietary restrictions. The vegan menu has shrank and it seems they've gotten rid of their best menu items I would come exclusively for all the time (like the vegan cheese sauce please bring it back). Some of the other options have suffered as well, the pancakes I had were extremely sour to the point of being inedible. Came here for lunch around 1pm. The diner was a good place to catch up and chat with a friend. However, the wait time was long, and at times, I kept thinking if our table was forgotten. I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap with curly fries. I didn't know the wrap was whole wheat. It wasn't specified on the menu, I would have wanted the regular wrap, but I dealt with it. When my order came out the first time, it had regular fries. Took a few minutes longer to get our waiter's attention again to correct him. I ordered curly fries. Once it came back, the food was good. Lindenhurst Diner! A paradise for vegans! I've been here quite a few times but I'm just reviewing it now. Every single thing that I've had was 5 star worthy! I'm going to try to remember everything that I've tried. To start, I'll just let you know that the fries are really good. I think that they have some kind of coating on them, I wouldn't skip them if I was eating here. I've had the impossible burger which was cooked perfectly, some places don't cook it right, the tofu scramble quesadilla, ckn & waffles, buffalo chicken sandwich and I can't off the top of my head remember what else. Have been in for both dinner and breakfast and they have delivered with both good food and excellent service. Girlfriend loves the fact they have full Vegan menu. They're not afraid to go off the standard diner fare and spread their wings, i.e., Vegan Chicken and Waffles. Although on the mid to smaller size for Diners, and the large parking lots seems sometimes, full, I've rarely had to wait long for a table and usually get seated immediately. He chose this spot as he and his girlfriend are vegan and they have a massive menu full of plant-based and non-meat options. While I can be quite the carnivore, I'm always one to try new things and went with their vegan chicken and waffles. It was pretty delicious actually and really hit the spot. I did diverge from the vegan-route for a moment, when I ordered myself a hot chocolate, with "real" milk. They were even so kind to include mini marshmallows, which had me feeling like a kid again. More of an upscale diner. Very bright and clean. Hostess quickly sat us. They have a lot of traditional faves along with trendy options as well. The iced pumpkin spice coffee was sweet and delicious. I also ordered a scrambled egg, with caramelized onions, cheddar and chipotle aioli on a whole wheat wrap. Very good and not too big to finish. Came with home fries which were alright. No peppers or onions on them just cubed potatoes. My daughter ordered avocado toast and was surprised it came with two sunny side up eggs on them. Luckily she does like eggs though. She said it was pretty good. Came with a good size side salad. My other daughter got a stack of pancakes with grilled ham. Server was very busy but did a pretty good job keeping up.
