Came here for a late lunch on a Saturday and we were sat right away. The place is very clean and tidy, but nothing exceptional on the eyes in terms of ambiance. The real star of the show is definitely their lunch specials though. We ordered the Pad Thai and the Pepper Noodles, both with chicken. A perfect sized portion for lunch that comes with a drink and is only about ten bucks a person is about one of the best deals that you can find around these days. Deal proposition aside, the food is also delicious, I was craving a second bowl of noodles after the first and already had me thinking about what I was going to order the next time I come back. Would have liked if the waitress checked in on us a little bit more, especially since we were the only two in the place at the time! But we were still well taken care of at the end of the day and she was very polite. Parking can be a little tricky being right on Wellwood, you can park along the street, but I'd recommend veering off to the side streets for one of the municipal lots or parking just on a less busy street. read more

We've been coming here for years now, and the food is always consistently good. With two kids now we usually opt for the delivery through Yelp and it is always crazy fast, way faster than the estimated time. The eggplant dish is vegan friendly (yay!) and has been a staple we always order. The drunken noodles are also soooo tasty. There isn't an option when you order through Yelp to have it with tofu but if you mention that in the special requests they will make it with tofu for you! Fried tofu with a side of peanut sauce and the pad Thai (classic) are other usual dishes we order. The delivery drivers seem to come right from the restaurant which is why it's so fast. This is the best Thai food I've ever had! The flavors are so vibrant and everything tastes so fresh. Sometimes when you order a pad thai elsewhere, it looks like it could have been sitting in the container for a while. This place, you can tell everything was cooked fresh. Delivery is fast and when the food is delivered, it's piping hot. I HIGHLY recommend the Panang Curry Chicken if you enjoy spicy. This is our favorite Thai spot in the area.. Everything we've had here so far has been delicious. They are reasonably priced and serve generous portions. We ordered pad thai, drunken noodles, and coconut shrimp from this restaurant.The coconut shrimp was good. Nicely breaded in coconut, decent sized shrimp, not greasy. It was accompanied by a sweet chili sauce that was a good compliment to the dish. The pad thai was bland. After squeezing lime and using the remainder of the sweet chili sauce from the coconut shrimp, the taste improved. Drunken noodles was ok. Had some sort of soy like sauce on it. I personally prefer a little kick on both these dishes so that was also lacking. We did not receive any utensils with our order. The only saving grace was that the food was delivered piping hot and portion sizes were decent. Maybe they have other dishes that people enjoy, but unfortunately, I don't think I will be giving them another try. read more

There really wasn't much decor, so if you were going for an aesthetically pleasing experience, you were not going to get it. that being said, the food was terrific. My noodle dish was plentiful and hot, and came out within 10 minutes of me ordering it. The other dishes in our party were also very good, especially the ginger chicken. The staff is attentive, and there are always people coming in and out to get takeout I have never had a problem with parking, but bring quarters as there are meters that you have to feed. Yesterday door dashed a meal - total around $45 Consisted of one spicy Thai chicken basil , shrimp dumplings and fried calamari. The shrimp was over cooked to the point they stuck together when the dumpling was opened and were a bit rubbery in texture . The fried Calamari was a disaster -- they over fried it and well that went immediately in the garbage -- a waste of $10 . The spicy Thai chicken basil was ok but for $16 it's overrated it's nothing more than a Chinese pepper steak with chicken substituted if you ask me .. And lastly their sauces are watered down .. very very disappointing , I will never order from them again , I didn't call to complain , don't want replacements and don't want any money back but I do want people to know don't waste your hard earned money here. Delicious food and generous portions. Reasonable prices too. Loved the chicken with asparagus and mushrooms as well as the drunken noodles with beef. My only comment was that the noodle dish could have been spicier since it indicated spicy on the menu. We also had the shrimp shao mai dumplings which were good but I think they were the frozen ones. Not much in the way of ambiance but we go for the food which I definitely recommend. Next time I'll take pics! Almost forgot that we brought home shrimp fried rice for our daughter which she loved. Ordered takeout from Thai Basil for the first time tonight and was so happy that we did. Whoever took my order over the phone was super friendly and let me pay over the phone. They reviewed the order too to make sure they had everything right. We had the chicken pad Thai, chicken drunken noodles, and pork vegetable dumplings. Both the pad Thai and drunken noodles had great flavor and didn't leave me feeling gross like Thai/Chinese can sometimes do. For the amount of money, we have enough to eat for lunch tomorrow and we're plenty full tonight. So happy to have discovered them and looking forward to trying against. Wow! What a surprise! Right here in the heart of Lindenhurst village. Lindy folk are expanding their horizons, Yaaay! I called in a take out order of red curry but was told they had no red curry only green or panang(I thought it was the same thing, #ThaiNovice) Ok, I'll take the Panang Chicken and an order of Beef Satay. Nothing crazy. Simple basic Thai, right?! Well I got it home and boy was I surprised at the amount of flavor in the Panang Curry. Rich & Spicy! Although it looked mild even bland. Don't be fooled. This curry was delicious & flavor packed! The beef Satay came with 4 pieces on a stick and served with a delicious peanut sauce. I can't wait to try the other menu items. Thai Basil is a small gem conveniently located on Wellwood Avenue, the heart of Lindenhurst. The menu is simple, but the food is of high quality. I ordered the shrimp and pineapple curry which had an OUTRAGEOUS amount of shrimp in it (more than anticipated, especially for $14). Our waitress was sweet and made personal recommendations off of the menu. The lunch specials also seemed reasonably priced, and they have quite a number of selections for under $8-$10 dollars. The only reason this place is getting a 4 star review and not 5 is because I do feel that the overall feel of the restaurant can be brought up a notch. My boyfriend ordered: curry pineapple shrimp, and I ordered the lemongrass pork chops & the fried pineapple chicken rice , and we definitely needed springs rolls .. and let me tell u it was so much food for an awesome price (good on the wallet in these hard times).. and it tasted DELICIOUS! Omg the lemongrass pork was juicy asf and they give u so many pieces you can be greedy lol .. the fried rice will make you say "MMMMMM" a million times it was so tasty and flavorful and those pineapples hit the soul! My boyfriend is a pescatarian and super picky with his food but he kept RAVING about his curry shrimp (he's introverted and he was singing as he was eating lol to each their own)! I drive past this place all the time, and I kept saying "I need to go here" but whenever I was looking for a place to eat, it would slip my mind. Boy, was it a mistake to wait this long to finally come here. Atmosphere: I walked in and the place was EMPTY. If it hadn't been for the stellar Yelp reviews, I probably would have been a little nervous. But as we ate, so many people came in and out for take-out. The place itself is very new with cute decor. Food: Wow. Here's where the biggest surprise was for me. When I initially saw the place, I assumed it would be a typical mediocre take out place, but again, boy was I wrong. The food was great. We ordered the samosas as an appetizer, and they were adorable samosa bites with a delicious coconut based dipping sauce. For my entrée, I got the lemongrass pork chops. The pork chops were sliced thin (bone in) and grilled, and they were juicy and tender with beautifully rendered fat around the outside. They came with a vinegar sauce and a sweet and spicy sauce that just killed it. My fiancé got the basil duck which was also so tasty. Staff: Our waitress was so sweet and the service was quick. I haven't had Thai food in a long while, I always kind of looked at it at as Chinese food with some different flavors. This was excellent, and proved me wrong. The Sesame chicken was fairly plain but good, the Pad Tai was good and spicy, we also got some kind of Curry Shrimp Soup that I enjoyed, and the General Tsos was mild but very tasty.
