The new bar!
Kerri B.

Friendly and efficient staff, plus, food is fresh and delicious! This is one of our favorite spots on Long Island and have been going here for years! We usually do the all you can eat special, but, recently we had a bit off of the main menu. They have Chinese, Japanese, and Thai...Make sure you come hungry, there is no wasting with the All you can eat special. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here! The sushi is elegant and made fresh by their Sushi Chefs, so much flavor and a large selection for all to enjoy. Everything is made fresh and to order. The DIM SUM is all steamed, the apps are all so flavorful and are just as beautiful in presentation. We were told the duck sauce was made in house as well! The pork buns and and soup Dumplings were our favorites. The firecracker shrimp, pineapple fried rice, general tso chicken are just a few excellent dishes we tried. We recommend ordering a few items off the menu, and sharing as a group and don't forget your hot sake! Speaking of sake, they have a brand new bar off to the right when you first walk in. I can't believe how big the bar was, there is so much room and they have a large selection from beer, sake, and liquors. We had the Mango Mojito (I'm not crazy about Mojitos, but I am HOOKED) and Mai Tai...both had flavor and a kick. The bartenders are super nice as well! By the way, there is tons of parking in a large lot.

Recently stopped by, likely for the last time. My friend came up from Florida and loves AYCE sushi so I had to show him this spot. Well, the food was not up to par to say the least, one of my soup dumplings I'm sure were past expiry because of the taste, I spit it into my napkin. The rolls were just alright this time, but the real stinker of it all was the service. Just imagine this, you order ice cream and the waitress without hesitation just asks "are you paying card or cash?" while I understand the reason they ask, this just was not the time. So I said card, and the waitress went on her way and was about to pull our plates from us but we asked to keep them in case we ordered more. So our ice cream comes and the waitress again asks, with an obvious attitude at this point "are you paying card or cash?" while holding our ice cream hostage in her hands. I said, "I already said I'm paying with a card?" Well clearly she didn't like that as she plopped the ice cream on our table and beelined away. After the ice cream, we decide we're done and can't eat more... much to our waitress's dismay apparently. She made it a point to say "well I was going to take your plates before but you said you wanted to eat more" again, with attitude. Then she walks away and said some kind words about us in her own language to the other waitress. Well that was a mess, tip won't be great... but here's the KICKER! Tip is included, which allows them to act however they want without any risk of losing their living. Once again, I cannot emphasize enough that I will not be coming back to this place. Premium prices, ok food, dismal service, it costs nothing to be nice so thank you Sake Asian.

Sake Asian is our go-to spot for sushi in the area! We love their AYCE deal, which for $29.99 a person is really worth it - especially if you're as big a fan of sashimi as I am! They give you an iPad to order from and a printed menu for reference. It's always fun to punch in your order and hear the beeps at the chef station once it goes through. The service is quick, so there's never too long of a wait. The staff is super friendly too! Our favorite things to order are the salmon sashimi, rockies shrimp, harumaki, eel dragon roll, Snow White roll, Black Queen roll, and Mango Hawaii roll. We've also tried the salt & pepper squid and really enjoyed that. There are a number of other things we'd love to try from their menu, but we wish there were an option to get just a half serving because when we're doing AYCE we tend to sample a bit of everything rather than getting a big portion of just one kitchen dish. Our one gripe with the place is that half the restaurant is dark and under a blue/purple light. It must be to add to the ambience/feel of the place, but we're personally not much fans of eating in the dark. Last time we went, the waiter was nice enough to seat us in a more lit area on request. All in all, we love Sake Asian and have recommended it to many friends and neighbors in the area. Can't wait to return again soon!

Found this place by accident when I was hungry and wanted to order something on Grubhub. It was one of the top results and I was really hungry, so despite never having ordered food from them I decided to give them a try. I got the spicy maki combo for $16 which is such a good deal for sushi! And I also ordered a side of seaweed salad. It was hard to decide what to get, because they have such a large menu. After ordering from Grubhub for pickup, the app said the order would be ready from 15-25mins. The order was ready around 10mins, and we received a notification from Grubhub. We arrived at the restraunt to pick up the order, the staff were really friendly and kind, and the vibe inside is decorated like for a party with colored lights. Looks like a fun place to eat. When we got home and opened up the bag, the food was all packed really nicely. And first impression, their sushi looks GORGEOUS, like really really nice looking. It's super vibrant and very neatly made! The layer layer rice on the sushi was very thin, and the sushi was bursting with filling The! The spicy maki combo came with spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy kani, and spicy yellowtail. For the price of the amount of food you got, it was totally worth it. The taste was really good too. I totally recommend this place! I also read other reviews saying that their AYCE experience was good. So maybe I'll try their AYCE one day.

$1 for tea.. they did not say anything when I ordered it. They also never bothered to refill it.. maybe it costs another dollar per refill?

REVIEW: Masa Asian Cuisine -- Babylon, NY Category: Asian…read moreCuisine & Sushi Bar Location: Deer Park Avenue, Babylon Village Overall Rating: (5 / 5 Stars) CATEGORY BREAKDOWN 1. Kitchen Execution & Hot Dishes: 10/10 A lot of sushi-focused spots treat their kitchen entrees as an afterthought, but Masa does not cut corners. The General Tso's chicken is my go-to, and it is flat-out the best around. Real white-meat chicken, fried to a clean, genuine crisp that holds up under the glaze instead of turning soggy. The sauce strikes that rare, honest balance--savory, tangy, and a legitimate touch of heat without drowning in excess sugar. It's consistent, hot, and prepared with discipline every single time. 2. Sushi Craft & Freshness: 10/10 My wife orders sushi here every visit, and it is always immaculate. The knife work is clean, the fish is fresh and cold, and the rice is seasoned and packed properly without falling apart on the plate. She holds high standards for sushi, and Masa has never missed the mark. Whether it's specialty rolls or traditional sashimi, you can see the respect for the craft on the plate. 3. Atmosphere & Dining Room: 9.5/10 Intimate, clean, and well-maintained. The interior has a warm, relaxed feel that works just as well for an honest sit-down dinner with your spouse as it does for grabbing high-quality takeout for the house. The tables are spaced decently, the lighting is calm, and it doesn't carry the noisy, chaotic vibe of larger chain bistros. 4. Staff Demeanor & Service: 10/10 The service is steady, polite, and attentive without hovering. From the greeting at the door to the handoff of the check, the staff operates with quiet respect. Water glasses stay filled, orders are taken accurately, and you never feel neglected or rushed out of your seat. Good people doing good work. 5. Order Flow & Kitchen Pacing: 9.5/10 The timing between courses is dialed in. Appetizers arrive promptly, and the entrees hit the table fresh and piping hot right as you're ready for them. Even during prime evening dinner hours, the kitchen maintains its rhythm without bottlenecking orders or sending out lukewarm food. 6. Parking & Village Access: 8.5/10 Located right on Deer Park Avenue in Babylon Village. As with any prime village spot, you might score street parking right outside, or you might need to tuck into one of the municipal lots a short block over. It's an easy, reliable walk either way and a non-issue if you're used to village life. PROS & CONS * + Top-tier General Tso's chicken: crispy, excellent sauce balance, and real quality meat. * + Impeccable sushi freshness and meticulous presentation on every order. * + Attentive, respectful waitstaff that values steady service. * + Clean, comfortable, and quiet village dining atmosphere. * - Weekend peak dinner hours can make street parking directly out front tight. THE VERDICT: 5.0 / 5.0 A standout Babylon staple that delivers excellence on both sides of the menu. Whether you're sitting down for impeccably fresh sushi or putting in an order for honest, perfectly executed kitchen staples like General Tso's, Masa delivers without compromise. A dependable, five-star dinner every time we walk through the door.

The mushroom was sliced so thin it disappeared. The basil leaves were the best part. The Babylon burrito is a cute idea. It looks huge but tastes light. When I think of hibachi, I think of Benihana, which I feel is not really authentic Japanese but Americanized food. Kind of like Panda Express for Chinese food. But I trust this friend so we went with them. My wife and my wedding anniversary was coming up so we told them and they prepared a special setting with rose petals and also a special dessert. So nice!! Omakase means to leave it up to the chef on what to eat and the chef's selections were amazing! Lobster, sweet shrimp, Uni, A5 wagyu, fatty tuna and other delicious selections. We also had a sake they recommended, which went so well with the food. The complimentary dessert was probably my favorite. All in all, a great meal. We just had omakase at Inatome recently and if i had to pick the best, I would probably say Inatome but it is very close. Sasa is much easier to get to so if you don't want to drive to Valley Stream, go to Sasa. TIP: make sure you make reservations in advance because they have to procure the seafood for the omakase.

We hung out after their birthdays and I am very fortunate to be associated with such wonderful souls. Bonding outside of Yelp = The World! Going to Cinnabar turned out to be a very satisfying experience as this was my first time here. There are two prices for the all-you-can-eat. $34.99 for all-you-can-eat sushi and Cajun seafood, $29.99 all-you-can-eat Sushi. I had all-you-can-eat shrimp and oysters along with Sushi-$34.99. You get more than you bargain for so I suggest you come hungry or just take one of the buffet specials. I was only able to finish one bag of the Cajun seafood boil. And I also got 3 pieces of Shrimp Tempura, shared 6 piece fried oyster, Calamari , and 6 piece shrimp sushi. I don't remember the name. I really enjoyed the time and food, the morning was special and the time was well spent. I most definitely will return but I will get one or the other buffet special because that is very doable. I would like to focus on the service. Our waitress was very attentive, kind and alert. She was very willing to explain the ordering process and that was a plus for someone that is new to this restaurant. The decor was beautiful and it had some sophistication for an added bonus. I love the red and black presentation, it created a bold, dramatic and high-contrast environment, often found in izakayas, steakhouses, and lounges. All I know is that it was sexy, romantic, exciting and we made it work. Inspire more, Yelp more!

I did a review of their horrible service 3 years ago. Some things dont change. So I deleted that so I could vent once again. (Only 1 review per person apparently) I purchased a 20 dollar lomein to go this warm evening. while I was waiting for it, the never smiling lady, Joanne, was at the front wait area. I asked her for a glass of water while I waited. She said you need to pay. I chuckled, she did not. I said, no not a bottle, from the gun as i pointed to the water soda gun. She said yes I know you need to pay! THIS PLACE SUCKS. She then said next time you pay and handed me a glass 1/3 filled with no ice. Mind you, it is all right in front of her, glasses ice soda and beer. I said no thanks, keep it. I got my overpriced greasy lomein and went home. I paid 7 dollars for extra beef because mushroom is historically miserly with protein.. It had 9, 1/8 inch by 1.5 inch pieces of beef in it. The noodle were mushy and it was loaded with grease. I only go there because they are the only local place open after 9. Go to Hong Kong chinese food in the same parking lot for takeout. Their pieces of protein are mush larger and you do not need to order extra, but they close at 9 Hong Kong is also 50% less than Mushroom and they smile. Mushroom is supposed to be the upscale place.
