I had the las Vegas rolls and the lobster tail roll. First off if you never had this place it's amazing. Many different options and a lot of specialty rolls to choose from. Each time I try to try a different one. Back to the tolls if you like lobster it's a hit! 5 pieces for about 13-14 dollars which isn't bad. I really enjoyed it. I wanted some teriyaki yesterday (Saturday) and found Teriyaki Express during my online search. This spot is right next to Sunrise Highway. There is some street parking up front but I rather park at the side because you'd have to parallel park right off of the main road in the front. You can either order to take out or eat in as there are a few tables. I'm assuming it was the owners that were taking our orders and they were extremely pleasant and friendly. Even though it was my first time there, I felt like I was treated like family! Being that it was a Saturday, there was a bit of a wait for our food (~15-20 minutes) and were told that they're busiest on the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and it would be faster if we had placed the order via phone. Noted for next time! While we were waiting for our food, there was a CONSTANT stream of customers coming in so that's a good sign in my opinion. They have a large variety of food items to choose from and you can look at their paper menu by the cashier area. Hubby ordered an Eel Avocado roll and Chicken Teriyaki. I ordered Shrimp Teriyaki. Hubby loved his Chicken Teriyaki (came with a good amount of chicken) and Eel Avocado Roll. I tried the Eel Avocado roll and also agree it was delicious. My Shrimp Teriyaki (12 pieces) came with white rice and some vegetables but the shrimp was a bit on the dry side and could have used more sauce. I didn't realize it until later but we were given 4 small containers of what looked like the teriyaki sauce. In conclusion, even though my shrimp dish was a bit more dry, I'd definitely return to try another of their many food items and also because they're so hospitable! read more

Grilled teriyaki chicken sushi. Yes, it's not sushi. Yes, it's covered in spicy mayo. Yes, if I had to eat one meal for the rest of my life, it would be this. Somehow, the rice is always perfect, the chicken is always flavorful, and everything comes together perfectly. I usually pair with a shrimp shumai and use some of the shumai sauce for dipping. The owner has yelled at me to eat my pickled ginger and has recommended zero calorie green tea to prevent bloating. Order the spicy chicken sushi. Drink your green tea. Eat your pickled ginger. This has to be my favorite restaurant on Long Island, hands down. I'm not exaggerating. The staff here is very nice and always a joy to talk to. The teriyaki entrees are super filling, and absolutely delicious. I wish they sold their teriyaki sauce, I've never had a teriyaki sauce as good as theirs. I suggest getting the combo with noodle! They do half rice and half yakisoba noodles. This is the one thing I crave since moving to Illinois, and it's the first thing I have when I'm back visiting my parents. It's a small cute restaurant inside a little strip of stores next to a dance studio on sunrise highway. I got the tofu yakisoba noodles from then the other day. It was piping hot and the potion was very generous. I have gotten sushi from them a couple times in the past. Rheir sushi is always good, so I was curious about their noodles since it was a cold night, I wanted something warm. The guy told me it would be about 15 mins. I checked back at 10 mins and parked on the side in the 7-eleven parking lot. The bag was really hot and it smelled good. I got back home to try it and the tofu was crispy, and a bit bland. The noodles were salty and sweet and a bit oily, but not super oily. The noodles weren't smokey though like other yakisoba I've had before. But it was decent. read more

I eat Sushi occasionally as my experience with it is mixed. All the places I go to in and around my area (even those recommended) are pretty tasteless to me. Teriyaki Express is near me and other members of my family who eat Sushi regularly have always raved about this place. I decided to try it yesterday. Wow! So delicious. The Giant Roll and California Sundae Roll were excellent. Also, the Seaweed salad was the best I ever ate. The Miso soup was soooo flavorful. I will only go to Teriyaki Express. Don't let the word "express" scare you. I do believe one of the few sushi places where the owners are Japanese. Lived around the corner from the Lindy location and have never ever been disappointed. Ordered through GrubHub and paid extra for soy paper in my rolls (can't have seaweed). Didn't have a chance to eat until 2 hours after the order arrived That's when I realized that I didn't get soy paper but standard seaweed paper instead. I called the restaurant only to get yelled at! The guy on the phone was SO RUDE and told me that the lettering on the GrubHub app is too small for him to see special instructions (don't know how this is a customer's issue). He also questioned me as to why I didn't start eating the food right away and waited 2 hours to see the order was wrong (not relevant). His resolution to the situation was to credit me the $2 I spent on the soy paper request the NEXT time I call and order from him. When I told him that I don't want a $2 credit or to order from him again and that I wanted a correct order cause I'm not eating this one he yelled at me some more. This WAS a place that I frequented until the Japanese counter-guy cheated me on my bill, and then got a nasty attitude when I caught him. I ordered the exact same take-out meal from the menu on 2 separate occasions within the same week, and he charged me two (2) different prices. He gave me $1.00 from the cash register (he still shorted me by $0.08, but I let that go). Then he stated from now on I should pay with cash instead of debit card. The only reason I can think that he wants cash is because he doesn't want me to be able to check my bank account and see that he's cheating me (i.e., stealing). I tried their food for the first time, and it was so good to the point where I wanted more. I got the chicken teriyaki and las vegas sushi roll and it just left me to get more and more. Although we are in this bad time of the pandemic, this restaurant is helping me with the cravings I longed for. I had a nice experience at this place a few years ago and decided to have dinner hear with a friend recently. What a terrible idea that was. For one thing, the prices at this place rival Kotobuki of Aji 53, next the sushi took, without exaggeration, 30 minutes to make and we were the only ones in the place. Next the sushi had bones and not just a single piece or a specific roll but 2 of my 3 rolls, each with different fish, had tiny bones.
