I recently came back to Lemonleaf Grill in Hicksville to pick up an order I placed in advance for a gathering at my coworkers' home. I ordered a full tray of beef Pad Thai ($180.00). Pad Thai is Thailand's famous stir-fried rice noodle dish and it balances sweet, sour, salty, and savory flavors. On the designated date and time, I walked into Lemonleaf Grill to pickup my order. I was amazed by the beautiful remodeling they did. I asked the staff member how long it's been and she said since November 4th. The inside and seating is now modern, warm, and bright. My order was ready for pickup and was placed behind the bar area. The Pad Thai was in an aluminum tray and covered with aluminum. The bean sprouts, lime wedges, and ground peanuts were packaged separately so it allows customers to put how much or how little they wanted. My coworkers really enjoyed the beef Pad Thai and it was some of theirs first time having Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was delicious and packed with flavor. I highly recommended Lemonleaf Grill in Hicksville. I can't wait to come back and dine in their remodeled space. read more

The newly renovated lemon leaf is absolutely amazing. The interior decor is outstanding. Great ambiance, huge selection on the bar. The food? Absolutely amazing. We got chicken satay, chicken wings and a bunch of lunch specials and a ton of drinks. The service could have been better, it almost seemed like they didn't wanna be there. But as for the food, the spices, the flavor and the quality were all amazing. We ordered basil beef, Penang curry, eggplant and some other dishes. Everything was absolutely amazing. The renovated lemon leaf is gorgeous, great decor and ambiance. The food 10/10, some of the best on the island. Great flavors, different levels of spice, everything was pure perfection. The service was sub par at best however. They messed up a few things and we were a party of 6 so we're not one to complain and they let us know at 350 they closed at 4 which was fine we requested the tab and they turned the lights off exactly at 4 while paying the tab which put a damper on the experience. On our quest to find shrimp deep fried in eggroll wrappers aka shrimp mermaid for my son, we decided to have dinner here. First, no shrimp mermaids lol. But they have shrimp wrapped in egg noodles and then deep fried. Not the same thing. I enjoyed them but my felt there was too much egg noodles. Wound up taking most of it off and eating the shrimp. I got the massaman curry and it tasted great! I enjoyed it and there was plenty for leftovers. Wifey got the pad see ew with beef. She said it was okay. But it was mainly because she likes her beef crispy and charred. lol. I thought the beef was tasty. The taste reminded me of Korean kalbi. Plenty of leftovers there too. Atmosphere was okay. When we arrived for dinner there were no other customers. Sat anywhere we wanted. But there were plenty of seating and it was clean inside. Service was good. Quick. Not necessarily friendly but professional. Brought us water and the food came out in relatively short time. When asking to pack up the leftovers they brought out containers to the table and packed it for us. When paying by card they had a portable card scanner on them. I wouldn't mind coming back. But because they don't have shrimp mermaids and don't charr their beef, we will most likely continue on our quest elsewhere. read more

Horrible service. Maybe they were overwhelmed but so disappointing. We were seated quickly at 7:05. But by 8:25 still hadn't gotten our meals. Had asked a few times and they would say it's almost done. Lots of take out orders were being made. Not sure if they just forgot to put our order in. We actually had to leave hungry. I used to come here as a kid with my dad and any time I feel like Thai food, it is the first restaurant to come to mind. Unfortunately, it isn't that close to my house so I don't visit often. I came by recently and ordered everything I used to get as a kid and it was even better than I remembered. The glass noodle soup is good! It is very light in flavor, so if you're looking for something with more kick - I'd go with a Tom Yum which is my favorite lol but I wanted to have some nostalgia. I got the chicken satay of course and the portion is amazing! Four large skewers and two delicious sauces. Next, was the calamari salad. I've always loved this salad and not many other Thai places have it on their menu. The flavor was spot on from what I remember. The only thing I would say wasn't the best was some pieces of calamari were tough and others weren't. Besides that, everything was great! Decided to try a new restaurant instead of going Jani's again. Went to Lemonleaf and found the food was absolutely delicious. Pros: Summer Rolls, Pad Thai, Panang Curry, loads of parking. Cons: As of this review, cannot think of anything.... This is definitely my go to place for Thai food. Let's start with the summer rolls, the star if the show was really the sauce. It contrasts perfectly with the typical summer rolls taste you would expect, add on the little crunchy onions bits and wow you got one of the best summer rolls you will ever experience. The Pad Thai was fresh as expected, noodles were soft and chewy, chicken ever so tender. Even the lime made my mouth water. Add on the fresh crunchy nuts and yes, like the summer rolls, it's almost unforgettable. The Panang curry never disappoints. This is actually a dish I keep ordering, but there's a great reason. It's ridiculously good. The curry sauce is creamy with the perfect thickness that blends with the white rice in a way that it gets you filled with just a little taste, but you will keep eating more and more. The only real sad part is that I cannot consume so much food, but this is a great place in my opinion for your Thai food craving. read more

I highly recommend Lemonleaf! The food here is delicious. Every visit I've had thus far has been consistent, which is hard to find these days. They also just renovated the restaurant with a more modern look. The service is excellent. I never feel rushed when I'm there. I think I came back here for the nostalgia. I have to update my review this way because I do think that there are better places for Thai food in the area, but my father always wants to come to Lemonleaf and although we hadn't been since well before the pandemic, he asked that we eat here the other night. The service is really good here. This alone warrants a positive rating in my opinion. Everyone is nice, keeps your water glasses filled and brings you the hot chili paste that you request (OK, I'm special). I ordered fresh summer rolls and remembered that I've had way better. There's no avocado nor tofu in the rolls to give them some heft and I prefer when they serve with peanut sauce rather than hoisin. For my main entree, the tao hu hor (bean curd sheets, fresh spinach and mushrooms in a black bean sauce) and I literally couldn't chew the mushrooms so I didn't eat a single one and they dominate the dish. I remembered that this had been an issue in the past but my nostalgia associated with a dish that most Thai restaurants don't even offer had major influence on me. On the other hand, my father devoured his Massaman beef curry and couldn't stop going on about how amazing it was. So, I know we'll be coming back and I really do need to change up my entree choice, I suppose! read more

After being over Thanksgiving leftovers, I decided on dinner here. I went with chicken pad Thai medium spice. The spice was actually perfect. A perfect balance of flavors and spice and it wasn't overwhelming at all. There was also a good amount of chicken, very generous portion. The dish itself was huge. Came here with a group of 10 people. We ordered a TON of different items from their menu. I would say their food is very mediocre. I had the Panang Curry for my main dish and wasn't much flavor to it. Their drinks are terrible. We had mojitos and we all returned our drinks after each taking one sip. And the service is worse. The bus boy cleaning our table was rude, pushing us as they tried to take our plates off the table. And to make things even worse is that they charged us for the mojitos that we didn't drink, and refused to take them off the bill. We had a long argument with our waitress so that she could take them off, and in the end, only gave us a small, partial refund. read more

It's close, they take a reservation, the service is excellent and honestly, each dish is better than the next. Vast menu. If they rebranded themselves and had a little update to the decor, folks would flock here. But this neighborhood and their clientele does not demand a trendy dining experience, and that's why they have survived for so many years. Try the Pad Woonsen, delicious shrimp and shiitake mushrooms over thin glass noodles and veggies. Our daughter is a Drunken Noodle fan and is what she always orders at any Thai restaurant and says these are by far her favorite. When I got something that wasn't clearly explained on the menu and wanted it taken away, to try to order something else, the waitress said, "No, I cannot take it back!" We usually love this place, but we recently had a VERY bad experience. I will be reporting this restaurant to the FDA. My girlfriend has Celiac disease. If she consumes wheat then she is violently ill and sometimes fatigued and in physical pain for days - like cannot work kind of pain. We called before we came. I told them girlfriend has Celiac and asked about gluten options for a specific meal - the Mee Ga Ti - and they assured me that the noodle itself was gluten free (rice noodle), but they would substitute the sauce. We came and ordered and once again made it clear she has Celiac. They said the fried tofu was not Gluten Free, so we took that out of the order and just substituted the new Gluten Free sauce. The order comes. My girlfriend eats a decent amount. Finds fried tofu in it and freaks out because it means she is going to be suffering later, so we notify them that the meal is contaminated with Gluten. They tell us they will make it again. Then they come back and tell us that they made a mistake and that the noodles are NOT actually gluten free. My girlfriend really freaks out because it means that she is most definitely going to be in a lot of pain and suffering later considering how much she ate. She was crying and obviously very upset and we just needed to get home to tend to her. So, to recap. I called and I was assured that the noodles in the Mi-Ga Ti were Gluten Free. Then they made the meal knowing she has Celiac and didn't think to check if the noodles were, in fact, Gluten Free. Then they still added the fried tofu. After all this, they charged me for my meal, but very kindly didn't charge us for the poison they served her. I am going to be reporting this restaurant to the FDA. It's a shame, because I really liked going here before this. read more

I had high hopes for LemonLeaf Grill.. I ordered the Beef w/ Hot Pepper and Onion from the lunch menu and a Tom Kah Gai soup. My order was ready in 5 min, wow what speed! Maybe they microwaved previously cooked food because the Beef w/ Hot pepper and onion had absolutely no taste and was bland. Also the rice was so dry and stale all the moisture was gone, that is definitely not fresh rice and if so very over cooked! The saving grace for this place was the Tom Kha Gai soup and I've had better. The man at the front desk also seems lazy, I asked if I can order the beef entree and soup while standing right in front of him and he says.. "You can order online, it goes straight to the kitchen". I said I'd rather you just get it over with, I'm standing at the front desk wow... Waste of $20, you guys need to step up your game. The Theo Thai Bistro, down the street is 100x better. read more

Foodie had a hankering for these dishes Jennifer went to pickup her order. I was surprised and stated I will be honest when foodie asked do I like it? I put all on my plate like a tasting meal. I sipped my red wine not part of the order. I first tasted the string beans . To my surprise they were perfectly cooked, not under cooked or overly cooked. One thing I didn't understand Thai style string beans I didn't see any difference in flavor. However Pad Thai chicken was filled with rich ,delicious flavor. Out of all on my plate, this won me over 5 stars for sure. Egg plant was alright, I've had better and surely worse, papaya salad gave a nice clean taste to my Taste buds.
