Had a really excellent experience with Door Dash Delivery And with the food at Lemonleaf Grill. Placed my order for beef satay, Tom yam gang soup, and gang Penang curry. The app is super easy to use and the order was prepared quickly. Delivery arrived even sooner than expected. Not only was the delivery quick but the restaurant remembered to send utensils, napkins, etc. The food was really excellent: Beef satay: tender marinated beef, easy to remove it from the skewers. So well flavored that it could have been eaten even without dipping sauces. The two sauces: peanut sauce, lemongrass sauce were both delicious and went perfectly with the beef satay. Tom Yam Gang soup: Nice and spicy. Well flavored, came with two jumbo shrimp. Gang Penang: creamy spicy sauce with a touch of sweetness. The chicken was tender and not overcooked. We started with Beef Sate...crisp and grilled on the outside but tasty and soft on the inside....delicious with the supplied peanut sauce and the sweet clear sauce...a must have dish. And, we unfortunately didnt read the end of my previous review and ordered the Spring Rolls...still crisp on the outside and mush on the inside...will not order that again! For mains it was also repeatsville! I got the Penang Curry Super xtra spicy and thats how it came...had lots of tender white meat chicken and was wonderful! Bonnie G. repeated and got the Basil Chicken which is always super good! I requested their condiments and used the chili sauce and green chilis in vinegar to add a bit more heat... Ordered dinner here recently while visiting a friend in Long Island. I just want to say that when this place closed temporarily for Covid, my best friend called them once a week to listen to their voicemail to see when they would open. I finally got to try them a couple of weeks ago. I live in Queens so I don't usually have high hopes for any Asian cuisine on Long Island but this place did not disappoint. The beef satay was extremely tender and flavorful and the sauces it came with were good. The rest of the apps were kinda average. The massaman curry was creamy and rich with the flavor and texture of peanuts. I really enjoyed it, my only drawback I asked for my curry to be spicy and it was fairly under spiced. I enjoyed the flavors none the less. The quality of the food was good, and it did the trick if subduing my Thai craving, but it's probably not gonna be me first choice the next time the craving hits. read more

Let me start by saying we came here on a Saturday night on a whim actually. My husband ordered some type of chicken asparagus and mushroom dish and I had ordered a simple beef pad see ew ( broad noodles like chow fun) when our dishes arrived my husb brought to my attention that my dish was also chicken . So I immediately informed the waiter. He then looked at his notepad and took my dish to the kitchen, which BTW I can see. I saw him do something to my dish... which had suddenly hit me . That he was picking the chicken out directly from my plate. ( I know this bc I been in the food industry for 10+ yrs) About a few minutes pass by my beef dish is brought out. I see they used the same plate as the chicken dish bc there was grease on the side of the plate - (poor presentation) AND I can also see some bits and pieces of chicken on the plate. - this ruined my dinner experience bc I had just recovered from projectile vomiting like the exorcist having food poisoning from eating a chicken bean salad , hence I wanted to stray away from chicken for a while. And lo and behold there's chicken in my dish -_- I just picked at the dish and ate the veggies instead. In conclusion I really wanted to like this restaurant, however there's so many other Thai places to try before I make my way down the ladder to this establishment again . I gave the place another chance tonight - BAD MOVE. Their quality of food has since declined yet further and their prices have gone up again. To add insult to injury, they now REQUIRE a minimum 18% gratuity on parties of 2 or more (so, if you are not dining alone, you will forced to pay the excessive gratuity). Further to that, they calculate the tax before the gratuity so you pay another 18% of the tax. To go even further they also will charge a 3.5% surcharge if you pay by credit card. Overall, the restaurant has gone from BAD to WORSE and they have the audacity to rip you off at every opportunity. There is no need for mandatory gratuity for a party of two, calculating gratuity on top of tax and then still to charge 3.5% when paying with credit card. I can go on but, I have learned my lesson: If you want good food, good service at a good price and want to respected as a customer, Skip this place. ***BELOW IS MY REVIEW FROM 4 YEARS AGO - IT SEEMS THEY HAVENT LEARNED THEIR LESSON*** We used to go to this place all the time however we have notice gradual yet steady decline in food quality and service with a significant increase in price. Menu prices all went up by at least $3 a dish but also they have a 3.5% credit card up charge and a mandatory 18% service fee. As I was hunting all around Long Island for a Thai restaurant that was half way comparable to the restaurants in the City, there was one mere minutes away from where I live! The food here is delicious! The price is right and the portions are big enough that I leave full. It's not a glamorous restaurant, but it is clean. This is definitely not 100% Thai but a Chinese version of cooking Thai style. All of us agree it tasted more Chinese than Thai. The portion & size was decent at okay prices. It sadden me that the appetizers are better than the entrees. The Satay was okay. The curry was okay too. But I was disappointed with the Salmon we ordered. We did not finish it and at least half left on the plate. It definitely tasted more Chinese than Thai and too refrigerated. I don't recommend the basil chicken too ( Too sweet, not too much meat). The food was hot and came in decent amount of time and service was acceptable. The servers were very nice to speak Mandarin with me.( Never get enough practice) I love good personal service but this time the food was also fantastic. Looking at the menu there was a wide selection of many yummy tempting things appetizers aplenty OMG it's for me. I wanted to play it safe my first time here and go with some of the recommended items I went with Dick's Beef Satay which was the best I have had ever, consisted of small pieces of tender marinated skirt steak laced on a skewer stick then grilled to crispy perfection on the outside but still moist and tender on the inside. (I'm spoiled now, can never tolerate less.) I Dipped them the variety of sauces brought to me. I could have Easily have had THIS alone Also got the Recommended Crunchy Mini spring rolls..And Repeated The Dipping process. Great place, great atmosphere. I did not know that this restaurant also had a location in Hicksville. Originally the one that I was going to was the restaurant in Mineola. What I like about this location is the parking and the larger amount of space. For starters we had the cashew shrimp which only comes with three fried shrimp so if your hungry you may want a second serving or another appetizer. Thankfully we also did order the chicken dumplings! But do keep in mind there are only four dumplings. The shrimp was unexpected but it was flavorful in that small bite. The dumplings were also cooked well but I would have liked them possibly steamed a bit longer. For dinner I had the pad Thai with shrimp. What I like about this location is that you can customize the amount of spice in your dish. The spice was not overbearing but I will say you'll have left overs! The food was delicious and hard not to keep eating. We also had the green curry with tofu. Even though the curry did not have the most appetizing color- the dish was great. It is spicy- so if you don't like spice make sure you do ask for them to tone it down! Finally we also asked for a steak, now if you aren't too hungry be prepared for a fairly large steak with a tbone. The steak was cooked to perfect temperature. The staff is obnoxious to say the least without any clue of customer service. It was to the point that a drunk waitress interrupted taking our order from another waiter. She was totally intoxicated, and slurring her speech. They did not ask if we wanted anything more, and dropped the check on the table around 10:30 while we were still eating. The worst was the owner, as I called him over to give him feedback, and instead of being apologetic he started to tell us we should get there around 9 at the latest, and he cannot hold anyone back from his staff. These guys need a serious lesson on how to treat customers. A piece of advice...do not accept customers at 10 if you are unwilling to provide the same food / service as you would at other times. I would have gladly accepted that, than to have gone thru this horrific experience. Needless to say, they did not deserve a tip. I have been wanting to try Lemonleaf for a while, so a rare couple of hours I had to myself on Sunday made it the perfect occasion. Honestly, it was NOT worth the wait. The restaurant itself had an empty feel to it. Walking in there's really nothing catching to the eye except for this enormous fish (it had to be at least 2 feet long) swimming back and forth in the most undecorated fish tank I ever saw. I started with the Po Pia (Vegetable Spring Rolls) served with a sweet and sour Thai sauce. Slightly doughy but actually very good. My main dish was the Gaeng Goong Sapparod (Pineapple Curry Shrimp). I always order my food mild so I can enjoy the flavor of the dish rather than having to drink a pitcher of water afterwards. Lemonleaf, unfortunately for me, did not understand what mild meant. I couldn't eat the food. I even ordered it with extra pineapple hoping this might help to disguise the spice, it just wasn't meant to be. So, once again, I found myself drinking that pitcher of water. The portions were huge (10 big shrimp) and presented very nicely in a pretty ceramic pot, but it was inedible for me. Because my wife is allergic to peanuts we specially told the waitress not to put peanuts and give us on side. They still put on top of the dish. Before we decline the dish the other bald guy came and quickly scooped out peanuts section of the dish put on my plate and left me with little or no choice. I asked if there were peanuts inside and she said no. Believing them my wife took portion of dish. Before you know neck turned red and itchy.
