So disappointing. I've never had bad Thai food till now. They downsized all their portions and take out containers and increased the prices post covid.. I'm writing this while drinking my Tom yum soup and it is very sweet, has no spice or kick or sourness that most/all Tom yum soups have. When we placed our order, we asked for white rice and they didn't tell us they ran out until after they charged our card. They were not accommodating whatsoever nor did they try to make up for it. Telling a customer after the fact, after charging them and not even trying to be apologetic for it is pathetic. I like Tiny Thai a lot. Their food is always consistently fresh and delicious. I usually start off with some tom yum soup with shrimp and then chicken with mixed vegetables. They also make an awesome Pad Thai. In addition, if your a curry fan, then you'll be happy to know they offer multiple curry dishes. Their Drunken noodles are phenomenal as well. I've been going here for years, just never wrote a review. In all my years of going here I always got Chicken Pad Thai. It's amazing and very delicious. Makes my insides dance! Tonight I wanted something something different and not too heavy as I wasn't very hungry. I ordered soup and appetizer as my meal for dinner. For soup I ordered a chicken mushroom soup in a coconut broth. The menu specified spicy, but I didn't taste much spice. I was looking forward to spice. For my appetIzer I ordered chicken satay. It was good until the last bite. The last bite I wasn't able to eat as it wasn't cooked all the way. My mom ordered chicken and string beans in a garlic sauce. It was a tad bland. Definitely needed more flavor. My stepfather ordered chicken Pad Thai. Which is his usual and he enjoyed it very much. Service is always great in here. It's a tiny restaurant (about 10 tables). These people below me are clowns. If you know anything about great food, you would have given 5 stars. I am adamant about the high quality of Thai food you will receive here. I have eaten locally as close to everywhere as you can get, and this place ranks among the top. Every item on the menu is fantastic. Today I had the pad Thai with wonton soup lunch special. So good. Last but definitely not least, the service is fantastic. A lot of people have an issue with how efficient they are. To clarify, only dumb people. This place is busy almost all the time. We've tried several dishes, but the pad Thai and the drunken noodles are by far the tastiest meals for a great price, and it's more than enough food for one person! VERY IMPORTANT: When ordering any dishes, especially the spicy labeled dishes, be sure to indicate to the waitress your preferred level of spiciness (1 for least spicy, 5 for most spicy) - I can handle spicy food, however we ordered a "level 3 spicy" and it was EXTREMELY spicy! I will now only order 1-2 level spicy. Proceed with caution when ordering spice!!! Hours of operation are a bit unorthodox, so try calling prior to arrival. The best part of a Thai meal. I got the fried blanket shrimp, and chicken satay appetizers. The fried shrimp were crunchy delicious, great with the plum sauce. The chicken satay was moist and tender with a distinct curry marinade. A chunky homemade peanut sauce complimented the Satay. I wanted to try the Thai Sesame beef here today. The meal was very similar to what my wife prepares for me. Lots of fresh vegetables and plump juicy pieces of top quality tender beef. The meal was not what I expected and not a typical Thai fare, there was no heat spice or crunch in the beef meal, served up to me on a hot sizzling platter.. it was very good. Unfortunately no desserts were available other than commercial ice cream. I had expected maybe fried banana or fried ice cream. Oh by the way, they do accept credit cards here now. They still have odd hours being closed on some of the busier times here in Farmingdale Village, I've literally seen dozens of people pull on the door and leave. I went here with my daughter on a Thursday night. There only two other people dining when we arrived. The the place is small and could only fit about 12 people. We were greeted and seated right away. We decided what we wanted right away. I ordered Drunken noodles with pork and my daughter ordered Musaman curry with chicken and a Thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea was good. However every else was not very good. The Musaman curry had a lot of peanuts. There were so many and it did not add to the taste of the curry which was bland. The Drunken noodles were a little spicy but the taste was nothing special. Service was good but food was not. The best part of the meal was the Thai iced tea. Unfortunately, Tiny Thai is sub-par & diluted to suit the Long Island palate. The food isn't bad but flavor-wise it is not true, authentic Thai. I was unimpressed and underwhelmed with my entire experience here. They have two spice level options above regular, "hot and spicy" and "very hot and spicy" I ordered the pad basil with chicken, menu indicated that it was "very hot and spicy" ... WELL it was anything but... The dish lacked flavor, nuance, and like Dick G. mentioned, "HEAT" I did eat every last bite because I was already there/starving, and did enjoy the generous amount of veggies on my plate. But to consider it "Thai" would be an exaggeration. Prices are inexpensive, as Thai cuisine typically is. And CASH ONLY. Came here around 8:45PM on a Thursday night with family and friends. We were trying to go to another restaurant in the area but it was closed so we decided to stop by here since we were all starving. There were about 2-3 groups of people already inside. The inside decor was cute, warm and homey. What was interesting was that they had carpet inside! Must be annoying to clean when people spill food and liquids on it. The waitress told us the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes so we placed our orders and got them in a timely fashion. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea (yummy!) and pineapple fried rice, two other people shared a Pad Thai (they liked it and it was a big portion), my cousin ordered some beef dish (forgot the name but he was fine with it although portion was on the smaller side) and my boyfriend ordered garlic chicken (small portion size). My boyfriend said the garlic chicken was so dry that it squeaked when he chewed on it. My pineapple fried rice tasted OK and was a good sized portion that I had to pack half to go. What ticked me off was the not so friendly waitress WROTE IN A $5 TIP FOR HERSELF on my receipt and she pressured my cousin to tip her when he was paying at the cash register (which he was going to anyway). I thought this was extremely rude. I mean, yeah, we came in toward the end of the restaurant hours but come on! The place closed at 9:30PM and we left around 9:15PM. It's not like we left at 10PM. I really wanted pad see ew, but they didn't have it and I was pretty surprised. Thought that was a staple, but settled for the drunken noodle. He had the masaman curry. Our food came fairly quick and the portions were big, but the taste just wasn't there. My drunken noodle was just spice and nothing else. His curry was good but there was such a small portion of rice, he was basically drinking soup in the end. Wasn't worth getting another bowl of rice for. This place seems to be a favorite in the area, so I was really hoping for more, but there was nothing special about this place at all. I mean, I know most restaurants have creepy crawlers here and there, but man I don't want to see it crawling across my table or on the wall next to me. They shouldn't be in the dining area. I was surprised to find out that this place really does fill up right when the doors open. There was already a line waiting before the doors opened (they open at 12 for weekday lunch). Their week day lunch hours are from 12 to 3. They offer a limited lunch menu ($7.95), which all entrees come with a choice of soup or salad and a spring roll. As for the entrees, you can pick the level of spiciness on a scale of 1 (mild) to 5 (most spicy). Service was friendly and efficient in facilitating a packed house. I tried the soup, which happened to be vegetable soup in a chicken broth. The name vegetable soup sounds so boring, but it was the exact opposite. Chock full of fresh vegetables with some mung bean/vermicelli-like noodles in a flavorful chicken broth. It was very homey and warm; it was a great start to the meal. The spring roll (vegetable) was pretty standard. The drunken noodles had great mouth-feel (wide rice noodles) compared to the pad thai noodles. The pad thai noodles weren't too sweet, but I wished there were more peanuts and fresh bean sprouts present. Also, a slice of lime to squeeze over it would have been a nice touch. The drunken noodles weren't very spicy despite being ordered as a "5," but you can ask for more chili sauce on the side. Vegetables in the dishes were cooked perfectly and everything was pretty spot on. The only issue we had was that it was a bit hard to get the check. Otherwise, the service was pretty much smooth sailing. Water glasses were constantly being filled despite the packed house. This is a bit of a small place with about 10 tables or so. The weekday lunch crowd mainly consists of workers from nearby offices, so it may be hard to seat a large group if you're not here a bit before doors open. read more

I've heard stories about how the food is great but the service sucks at Tiny Thai for years now. I finally decided to give this place a try for a late lunch one day and boy am I happy I did. For $8 you get an entree with soup or salad and a spring roll. The wonton soup was some of the best I've ever had. The wontons were the perfect size and not overly doughy. My entree was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. Service was ok, but I can see the one waitress getting overwhelmed if the place was packed. As the name suggests, this place is tiny, so I can see it getting packed easily. If you're near Farmingdale and in the mood for some Thai food you can't go wrong here. read more

The place's name says it all: "Tiny" It was so tiny that it could barely fit our party. From a quick glance I believe it can fit up to 10 tables of 2 seats... Roughly 20 ppl. As other reviews describe the service is poor. Both waitresses are unable to accommodate and react to spontaneous changes. It seem that they are poorly trained or unaware of what is going on. We were 9 people and she was unaware of how to fit us in even setups. The solution is easy, have one party of even setup: 2 chairs in one table, and 7 chairs in three tables put together... How easy was this solution? I believe this review will not matter because there are no responses from owner from other reviews before me. And I don't think the owner will know about social food reviews like: Yelp, LivingSocial, etc... Anyways, I am still writing because I care for the people who care about food out there in Long Island! The food was an OK, not too great and not too bad. Great Thai in downtown Farmingdale. Not a destination, moreso a getaway. No one goes wrong by coming here. Everything on the menu I will happily enjoy. Of note are the dishes themselves. Mine was in a cow or elephant shape. My friends was a fun star. The rest of the restaurant's seemed to be just as eclectic. How do they stack? They have great looking whole fish. woah, "Pla Lard Prik - Deep fried whole fish topped with sweet-chili sauce." That sounds really good. On a curious note, they have a rating of up to 3 peppers on the menu legend - but there is nothing over 2, not even the drunken noodles. I asked for my veg duck spicy, but I only drank 1.5 glasses of water. I would expect the general consensus to be sweet rather than spicy. The clientele is expectedly more white than asian so take that into consideration. I am sure the same owners in Hicksville would entice more sweats with their dishes.
