General tso's chicken
Michele C.

Prob my first time having Chinese in 10 years and it did not disappoint. Ordered for delivery which was fast and easy. I had general tso chicken with brown rice. My hubby had egg foo young and wonton soup. We also ordered fried wontons. The general tso's was fresh and tasty. Not too hot. Would have liked to see those hot red peppers but def good. My husband liked his egg foo young as well!

I have always really liked this Chinese spot. The staff, especially the girl who takes the orders, are really friendly. If you spend more than $30 (which happens faster than you might think) you get to spin the wheel for a prize for your next trip! Sometimes, if you are dissatisfied with your spin, they'll even allow you to spin again. Come on, who doesn't like to spin a wheel for something free? It reminds me of being a kid and going to the arcade to see what prize or amount of tickets I'd get. Now, for the food... Mini egg rolls: Insanely addicting, though a little pricey, if I'm being honest. Wonton eggdrop soup: By far my favorite in the area. Thick, not insanely salty, and the wontons are delicious. House chow fun: So much stuff packed into one container! Shrimp, pork, chicken, flat noodles, veggies. For $7 I get at least 3 meals out of it. Dumplings: So good! I prefer the steamed to the fried. Every time I go there, I try to get something new. Now, they even have a menu for Thai food! But, they make everything spicy. That is my only fault with them, really. Though, I know this is a matter of taste, so I won't knock them for it. If you ask for something spicy, trust me, you'll get it.

I have my go-to Thai place, but I was getting a large order for a group and saw this place had…read morecheaper prices and earlier opening time, so I gave Green Thai Kitchen a try. I placed the order online and went to pick it up. The inside looked like the place wasn't even open. No one standing at the counter. If not for the fact that the front door was open and there was a dim light in the back, I might have thought I was getting scammed. The portions were large for the price. Unfortunately, some of the dishes were really underseasoned and dry. I like my pad Thai really dry, but this was so dry it was hard to portion out the noodles when I got home. The massaman curry was full of veggies but a little bit bland. The rice for the fried rice was a good quality rice, though, not the cheaper Western rice and not cooked to mush either. There used to not be too many Thai places around here, so this place might have been notable for the great value if not for the new establishments that offer tastier and higher quality Thai.

I ordered the the lunch special Pad See Ew. I came around 12:30pm it was not busy at all. The lady…read morewas really nice, and smiled a lot. I saw the chef in the back prepping chicken while listening to Chinese radio. It was pretty hot today and there were fans and no AC. But after I sat down to eat the lady closed the door and turned on the AC for me. My lunch total was $10.85 with tax came with soup & salad. The salad was iceberg lettuce with spring mix & cucumbers with a miso carrot dressing. I also got 2 spring rolls! Which I thought were crunchy toppings for the soup at first. I wouldn't spend money on ordering the spring rolls as they're frozen, but definitely worth it if they're free. The chicken coconut soup was a bit bland. But the chicken tastes fresh, and the piece of mushroom and fresh cilantro tasted very nice. The noodles had very nice caramelization. I like how there were very generous about the portion of vegetables and protein in the dish. Usually places cheap out by having the dish 90% carbs. And they put like 3 pieces of broccoli in your dish. But this noodle dish was like 60% carbs, and 40% vegetables and protein, felt healthy. My dish was very simple. Wide flat noodles, broccoli, egg, and fried tofu. There was very little sauce so the ingredients could really shine. It was kind of oily, but what are you going to do, it's fried noodles! Mostly a takeout place though. I was the only one eating in the take out place. Despite the fact that they have 6 tables. The place was pretty clean, no flies everywhere, and not super dusty. I can tell they clean daily and do a good job. The lady even came over the picked up my salad container when I was done with it while eating. They have good service with a smile. It might not look like much from the outside, but give this place a try!

We had made reservation reservations for 7:30 PM. We ordered our drinks and appetizers which were very good. She spoke in English, but her accent was too thick that it was incomprehensible. When I ordered cold sake, the waitress informed me they only had hot sake. Then she told me she will bring hot sake and I can put ice cubes in it, quite rudely. It seems she misunderstood my wife and pointed a finger at my wife and said, " I don't give a shit if you don't come here again". She walked away. Then the chef came out to ask us what the problem was. We told him we had no issues with the food was very good and we weren't sure why the Waitress was upset. Probably she misunderstood English or had a hearing problem. When the main course was brought to the table, our friend asked that another Waitress, who brought the food as to what she was putting in front of her. The second Waitress was not polite either. She brought a soya bean made dish. My friend had ordered a chicken dish. This Waitress took back the plate and she realized that she had brought the wrong order of another customer. Instead of apologizing, she just went to bring the chicken dish. Our evening was ruined by bad service and bad behavior of the staff. The chef came out of the kitchen and he told us that it's OK with him if we don't come back to his restaurant again. We were all stunned at what we were hearing. All six of us are of Indian origin. This was a classic case of racial discrimination. We would never visit Hug Thai if it was the last Restaurant on this planet, even if the food was free!!

Bravo! Bravo! Absolutely outstanding Thai food at great prices and a great location close to me…read more Everything on go. I ordered the chicken pad see ew, beef red curry, chicken satay, and basil chicken. Tried to hit every meat group. Next time gotta try the fish The Chicken Pad See Ew was a standout. Wide rice noodles with that perfect chewy texture and beautiful wok hei char. The savory-sweet soy-based sauce coated everything perfectly, and the mix of tender chicken and juicy pieces made it incredibly satisfying. The Beef Red Curry was rich and aromatic with a luscious coconut milk base. The red curry paste had great depth. There was layers of lemongrass, galangal, and spices. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and Thai basil were fresh and plentiful. I loved how it had a nice kick that built up without overpowering the dish. The Chicken Satay came out perfectly grilled with beautiful char marks. The chicken was juicy and marinated well, and the peanut sauce on the side was creamy, nutty, and addictive. Finally, the Basil Chicken delivered that classic Thai street-food flavor. Plenty of fragrant holy basil, lots of garlic, and just the right amount of chili heat. The chicken was tender with great texture, and it paired amazingly with jasmine rice. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The portions were very generous too -- we had plenty of leftovers for the next day. As my son would say "10 out of 10!" but since we are on yelp, we'll have to settle with a 5. Give this place a try.

The shrimp in the Panang Curry were a bright spot (perfectly cooked!), but the curry itself lacked the typical creamy consistency. Hopefully they take this as constructive feedback.

3.5 Stars for their lunch specials!…read more This was our first visit, and we only ordered a salad and two lunch specials. I would definitely come back to try other items from their regular menu. I found the entrees in the lunch special a little skimpy. These are the dishes we shared: -- Papaya Salad ($12): this is from their regular menu, and I thought it was excellent! Well balanced and so tasty! -- Drunken Noodles w.Beef (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Soup, which was a Tom Yum Soup. The Soup was very spicy but the Drunken Noodles were very mild; almost bland. It definitely needed more flavors and wok hei, but still ok. -- Massaman Curry w.Shrimp (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Salad, which came with a Peanut sauce. The Salad was actually pretty good; the peanut sauce was slightly sweet. The Massaman Curry w.Shrimp was very weak in flavor and only came with 3 little shrimps. I would suggest you order a different protein and skip the shrimp. Customer service was good; albeit there was nobody to greet us when we first arrived, so we just seated ourselves. But service got better. They didn't rush us to order and let us linger after we finished eating. But after a while, we were asked to leave since they close the restaurant in between the lunch and dinner service (between 3:30-4:30pm). Sorry, we were not aware of this! All in all, a decent first experience. Next time, I'd skip the lunch specials and just order off their regular menu.

We ordered the Khao Soi Noodle Soup which was a curry based soup. In the order you have a choice of protein and noodle type. We got chicken and egg noodles. I did like how the chilis and noodles were separated from the soup so the noodles weren't saturated and you can control the spice level. We also got Pad woon sen and the crab fried rice. The pad woon sen had a good ratio of chicken, veggies and noodles. Our favorite though was the crab fried rice. It was nice and fluffy, lots of fresh crab meat and very tasty. I would definitely order the fried rice again. Next time maybe I'll try dining in as their interior look nicely decorated.
